Problem while passing parameter between forms

Hi,
I am tring to call a form from another form using the code
fnd_function.EXECUTE (function_name => 'TABFORMFUN',
open_flag => 'Y',
session_flag => 'Y',
other_params => 'EMPNO="' ||'paramvalue'||'"');
in WHEN-MOUSE-CLICK trigger.
when I deployed it in applications and click the button on the first form
getting an error message:
FRM-47023 No such parameter Named G_QUERY_FIND exist in form TABFORM.

1. Does the code work in any of you environments?
2. Does the G_QUERY_FIND exist in the TABFORM form? If it is not there, what happens if you add it?
3. Can we have a sample of what code is in the fnd_function.EXECUTE procedure? This will help expain the actual method that you are calling the TABFORM form with. i.e are you using call_form/open_form/new_form built-ins or are you constructing a URL. I assume this is a forms/library based package.
Sorry to be picky Eric, but EXECUTE is not an Oracle reserved word, it is perfectly fine to use it. Oracle use is themselves in various manners e.g. as a function in the dbms_sql package as well as for the EXECUTE IMMIDIATE statement for imbedded dianamic sql. i'm using srw.set_hyperlink to call report from report.
i have created a key value in the cgicmd.dat file called

Report is coming but not the expected result because parmaeters are not coming from first report to second report.
If i dont use cgicmd file userid and password are displyed in the URL.
Pl tell me how to pass parameter from one report to another.

Error While Passing Parameter from Form to Report

I am using Dev 9ids. And i am compiling every forms from form 5 to form 9i. and report too.
Most of reports are running.
in some i am getting problem where i do pass more than 5,6 parameters.
for e.g in one case say
set_report_object_property(rep_id,REPORT_OTHER,'comp_code='||:global.vc_comp_code||' inv='||inv||' invoice_no='||inv_no||' invoice_date='||inv_dt||' vc_name='||cust_name||' Paramform=no');
this will not run and give error FRM-41214
when i exclude vc_name or shorten the value of cust_name report run fine.
length of cust_name and in report vc_name is proper.
I also need to pass more parameters to report.
I do think there might be parameter size in any of report system files to be increased.
Pls help me out how to rectify this problem.

You are not getting the result in the report because you have chosen the button event as Query.
Edit the form, for the Execute button, choose the button event Custom and use the same pl/sql code that you have used before.
If the event is Query, then the session object does not have value of A_EMPNO at the point where you have written your code. The session object is populated after the Query event has taken place.

I have a pl/sql package which will call a shell script program.The shell script program is written in order to send the invoice hold details of AP as a mail.The parameters to this program are passed in the pl/sql package.
The shell script program has
5 parameters namely

from - email
hold id - which is a number
hold name - varchar2( free text)

hold name --------hold reason (a part of hold name parameter is displayed as hold reason.The reason being in param2 we used cut which is cutting from 13.
the problem here is since param1 being free text we cannot predict at what position the parameter ends.i mean there might be a single word or more than 2 words in that parameter seperated by space. the question here is ... is there anyway that we can specify dynamically from which location the param2 should fetch the value.
can we use some delimiter to identify the end of param1 and start of param2.If so... how can it be written in this scenario.

As I see, all parameters are merged into 1 at shell script.
Please do as follow:
1- Modify your shell script as followed:

echo "To Email id is $2" -- to email
echo "Param0: $3" -- hold id
echo "Param1: $4" -- hold name
echo "Param2: $5" -- hold reason
2- rename your shell script file with .prog extension : CUSTOM_NAME.prog
3- perform the following command at custom file location:
ln -s $FND_TOP/bin/fndcpesr CUSTOM_NAME
This approach will seperate your parameters and then it will be more easier to manipulate them.

Passing Parameter between Methods

I have some problems because i don't really know how to pass parameter between methods in a java class.
How can i do that? below is the code that i did.
I want to pass in the parameter from a method called dbTest where this method will run StringTokenizer to capture the input from a text file then it will run storeData method whereby later it will then store into the database.
How can i pass data between this two methods whereby i want to read from text file then take the value to be passed into the database to be stored?

In a nutshell, you don't "pass" parameters. You simply call methods with whatever parameters they take. So, methods can call methods, which can call other methods, using the parameters in question. Hope that makes sense.

Pass parameters between forms using a menu

I use a menu to switch forms. However, I have problems to pass paramenters between the froms.
Any suggestions ? Thanks.

There are 2 means:
1. The most simple to code is to use global vars. Still, you may get into some trouble managing them (erasing them when you no longer need them).
2. Use parameter lists. RTM about that. It's a bit complicated, but feisable, allowing to pass params whe using open_form or run_product (run_report).
One more thing: when referencing forms items from menu code you have to use name_in(), and for assigning values to form-items using menu code you have to use copy().

For your first question can you please be a little more clear as to what you are referring to? I am not familiar with an action button for the parameter pages.... what I can tell you is that we don't have any jsp code for the viewer controls, all of that is generated dynamically at runtime. We do have a viewer SDK that you can use to set properties on the viewer; information about this can be found in the [Developer Library|https://boc.sdn.sap.com/developer/library] in the Viewer SDK documentation book.
For your second question, I assume you are referring to generating a viewer page from a report in Crystal Reports for Eclipse. You will need to uncomment the viewer code (for some reason when the page is generated, the viewer code has block comments surrounding it). You will probably want to make sure the parameter code is uncommented as well.
In addition to this, there is a helper file called JRCHelperSample.java that contains all of the helper methods for the automatically generated viewer page. This can be modified in whatever way you wish to suit your needs.

Pass parameter to form from webpage?

Is it possible to pass parameters to a form from the webpage?

i am trying to pass the parent_id as a parameter to a portal page but am not able to... i can add it to the list of in parameters to the PL/SQL based parent id but when i add the parent id to the url then i get no result... i created a custom attribute for the parent id since there is no attribute build other then page group and page id... when I set the Parent ID attributes default value in the attribute properties of the item type based on PL/SQL it just brings back results for the default value and if i pass a different value for ithe parent id i dont get the correct result I get the result for the default parent id.

Passing parameter between two applets

hi all,
i want to pass parameter between two applets. in other words, when user clicks the button; close the running applet, pass parameter to another applet and run another applet.
now i think that could be, ( creating a parameter table in database, when user click on button write parameters to table and stop active applet and run other applet. when other applet runs in init methot it takes parameter from table). but it will be very indirect way.

Memory leak problem while passing Object to stored procedure from C++ code

I am facing memory leak problem while passing object to oracle stored procedure from C++ code.Here I am writing brief description of the code :
1) created objects in oracle with the help of "create or replace type as objects"
2) generated C++ classes corresponding to oracle objects with the help of OTT utility.
3) Instantiating classes in C++ code and assigning values.
4) calling oracle stored procedure and setting object in statement with the help of setObject function.
5) deleted objects.
this is all I am doing ,and getting memory leak , if you need the sample code then please write your e-mail id , so that I can attach files in reply.

Besides the two options FormsEleven gave, there's a third one: package variables.
Create a package in a Forms library, define a variable in the package specification.
Start the form with call_form/open_form with the option "SHARE_LIBRARY_DATA".

After a user logged in successfully, a new form appears , where his name should be displayed
like 'Welcome <user>'
So name should be passed form login form to the home page.

Pass Parameter from Form to Form While on Seperate Pages

I'm running 9iASR2 on Linux
I know there are allot of postings on Passing parameters and I'd hate to bring it up again, but I've been attempting this for a few days now and can't seem to figure it out.
My issues is that In need to Take a Parameter entered on Form1 one a page then upon click of insert I need to pass a parameter entered into that form and naviagate to another page containing 2 portlets 1 being another form and 1 being a dynamic page both of the portlets on the second page need to beable to access the parameter.
I am abable to pass the parameter between the forms when not running in a portlet with the code below.

Pass parameter between programs

Hi,
I need to pass one parameter between 3 programs :
That is the actual flow of my parameter.
SAPF110V -> RFFOBE_I -> which include ZRFFORI99B)
get param <- RFFOBE_I <- set param
with statments
SET PARAMETER ID 'ZDBL' FIELD p_doublon.
GET parameter ID 'ZDBL' FIELD p_doublons.
But unfortunatly it doesn't work :/ (value of my param = 0)
I can run the include program in debug because it is run in background...
I can't use a Ztable
Any idea to pass value between this flow ?

Hello,
The value which you want to pass between the programs can be stored in the SAP memory space by using the IMPORT and EXPORT to MEMORY ID statement.
EXPORT <internal table/variable> to MEMORY-ID 'MY MEMORY'.
Above statement will keep the value in SAP memory by creating a memory named as 'MY MEMORY'.
IMPORT <internal table/variable> from MEMORY-ID 'MY MEMORY'.
Above statement will get the value from SAP memory space.
But while using the above statement please consider that all the three programs should be run in the same session because the Memory that you are using will automatically be cleaned up by the Garbage collector as the session ends.
