New Client in Solution Manager 4.0

Hi Gurus,
i need make a new client copy in Solution Manager 4.0 and I had made a entry also in SCC4 but after that entry when I am trying to login with sap* & pass in that new client.
It is not allowing me to login it is saying "wrong user or password repeat logon".
Please Help gurus... is there any change in solman on user name & password.
Thanks
Kamal

Hello Kamal,
Did you do this?
1. Create a client in SCC4
2. Log off from the system.
3. Logon to the new client with user SAP*, password PASS
4. Go to SCC3:
Source: Client 000
Source User: Client 001
Target: Your new client
Profile : SAP_ALL
Delete the profile parameter 'login/no_automatic_user_sapstar' when you have created the first user in the new client. Restart the system to make the changes effective.
See: SAP note 806819.
Best regards,
Dolores

  • Create new client in Solution Manager?

I finished installing Solution Manager 4.0 sp1 for the first time and have the default clients of 000, 001, and 066. I can log on with the SAP* user.  I'm a little confused about the next step. Do I create an addtional client (For example, 100) just like a production or development system to use for users, RFC connections, etc.?
Or do I use one of the default clients?

    Hi Carl,
As always... the golden rule applies to SOLMAN as well. Never touch the default clients. Have a client copy and then perfrom all the actions from and ON the Copied client.  Get going with SCC4 for a new SOLMAN client :).. atleast thats what we follow here as a practice.

  • Creating a new user in solution manager?

    Dear All,
How to create a new user in solution manager for creating an incident?

    prathish5,
I did this in our SolMan by following the instructions provided by a SAP document called: "Service Desk VAR Setup Master Data". I got it from the Support Portal, though I can't seem to find it now so I can't provide a link at this time.
Anyway, assuming that your SolMan is already able to download your master data (and/or your customers', if you are a VAR), these are the steps suggested by the guide:
    1) The message creator (aka Key User) should have the following authorization roles:
    SAP_SUPPDESK_CREATE
    SAP_SUPPCF_CREATE
    SAP_SMWORK_BASIC
    SAP_SMWORK_INCIDENT_MAN
    See also SAP note 834534.
A best practice is to create a Z copy of all of these roles (use transaction PFCG), so you can manage them and change them around if you need to. Just make sure to "activate" all the authorizations of your copy of the roles:
    - Open the roles in tr. PFCG;
    - Select Authorizations, and choose Change authorization data;
    - If you get a yellow semaphore, be sure to review the authorizations and fill them according to your security policy. You can assign global permissions for all the authorization objects by double-clicking the yellow semaphore;
    - Generate the profile, then go back and save the role;
    2) Following the guide, with tr. SU01 I created a Template user and called it KEY_USER (make sure the user type is actually Template) and assigned to it the Z roles you created in the step above;
    3) If your SolMan is working properly, you can now use report AI_SDK_SP_GENERATE_BP (tr. SA38) to create the Business Partners and SAP users automatically. The report will log in the Support Portal and read the users which are authorized to open a SAP tickets, and create a BP and user for each of them. Use the Template user KEY_USER created in step 2 as a "Reference user" and all the new users will automatically get the correct autorizations. Also if your SAP Connect (tr. SCOT) is correctly configured, you can choose to send an automatic mail to each user, with their login and generated password.
Otherwise, you can manually create a user with transactions SU01 and BP - be sure to fill the "Identities" table here - the report AI_SDK_SP_GENERATE_BP makes all these things automatically so it's definitely your best bet.
    4) Your users should now be able to log in with the SAPgui and use transaction CREATE_NOTIF to create a new message in your SolMan. Also if you have done the preparation steps correctly they should also be able to log in your Incident Manager using their browser, and open a message there and also review their past messages.
Those are just a quick insight of the steps you need to do. This is NOT an easy thing to configure, at least it wasn't for me; if you don't have a reliable guide to follow you're going to struggle: I strongly suggest you browse through the SAP documentations (also the blogs) - http://service.sap.com/xsearch is your best friend!
I hope this helps a little bit. Good luck.

  • Can't enroll new clients in Profile Manager 3.0.3

I just upgraded a server from 10.8.5 to 10.9.2 and updated the Server app to v3.0.3. Almost everything seems to have gone smoothly, except that I can no longer enroll clients in Profile Manager, and the user under which all devices were originally enrolled disappeared.
I manually re-added the user through the Server app, and used the same short name and password for the account.
All of the old clients (OS X systems running 10.8.5) are still there. I can search within the device list, create profiles, edit profiles, and remove profiles. But none of them show up when I log into the My Devices web page with the re-created user.
This user does not have admin privileges, but even when I try to enroll a device using an admin account I still get a "500 Internal Server Error".
I can't seem to find any other threads covering this exact problem, although there seem to have been others with various PostgreSQL database migration issues during the upgrade. For examples, see this thread: Managed Settings missing in Profile Manager after upgrade to Server 3
    Looking for some ideas...

Well, that is one idea that I've already had, Linc, but I'm reluctant to use the "nuclear option" for obvious reasons. I'm actually wondering now if the Secure Cert / OD problem is affecting Profile Manager. See this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23686348#23686348

  • Client Copy Solution Manager Enhacement Package 1

    Hello solman experts!
I'm going to install SolMan EHP1 (SPS20). I'm preparing execution plan for installation. Now I have problem in step sequence.
Should I make client copy first and then run tamplates for initial configuration (from SOLMAN_SETUP)?
When I installed PI 7.1 I made client copy before template run (I checked note 1309239). But for SolMan I didn't find any information regarding SolMan client copy and template (and also SOLMAN_SETUP) sequence.
    Do you have any ideas?

    Make copy before customization

  • DDIC Password fails in middle of Solution Manager Installation

I'm performing a new install of Solution Manager 7.0 (4.0) on HPUX IA64 11.23. This is a brand new Landscape. The installation has halted at phase 29/47 "Check DDIC password", and reports the error:
Test login to SAP System SMA failed.
SOLUTION: Make sure that the system is started, that the user DDIC exists and that the password of user DDIC is correct.
From the SAPGUI 7.10., I was unable to login as DDIC or SAP. I used the master passwords given in the install. I also tried the default passwords as mention in another thread password '19920706' for DDIC and '06071992' for SAP.
I was able to login with SAP* password PASS after adding login/no_automatic_user_sapstar=0
to the default profile and restarting SAP, but was unable to change the DDIC password because change and transport system not configured.
How do I get past this point in the installation process?

This problem is now resolved. The problems of:
    1) The "Check DDIC password" phase of sapinst of SM 7.0 was failing with DB-Error 0.
Fix: Install latest kernel patch. Problem was fixed with NW 7.0 kernel patch 133. I installed kernel patch 159. The kernel patch had to be installed via the old method of using SAPCAR to untar the files, backup kernel dir, shutdown sap, and copy files over to kernel dir. See note 19466.

  • Upgrade ASAP roadmap content in Solution Manager

    Hello,
Does anyone of you know how to upgrade the ASAP roadmap content in solution manager?
Current we have solution manager 4.0, SP12. The version of the ASAP roadmap content is V3.6 (Dec. 2006). We currently found from the service marketplace the lastest ASAP implementation roadmap (V3.7)
    https://websmp106.sap-ag.de/roadmaps.
Is it possible to somehow "upload" this new version into Solution Manager roadmap to replace the older version? Or how should we get the roadmap content upgraded?
    Many thanks for your input!!
    Regards,
    Li

It is delivered in ST-ICO SAP Solution Manager Implementation Cont. Ver 3.6 is in SP11, I would imagine V3.7 is in SP 13.
You would have to up your service pack or use the standalone one until then.

  • Functional and Technical Administration Roles in Solution Manager

    Hello
A big company has been implementing new functionality in Solution Manager during the last couple of years,  they started with System Monitoring and EWA, Maintenance Optimizar, then Project Implementation, now Service Desk and ChaRM.  This is company has a wide open structure in IT and a discussion has been raised about who is the owner of soluton manager in IT.
In my experience I always propose two main roles one is Technical Administrator Role and the other is Functional Administrator role.  The former is more basis oriented, in charge of the installation and update of stacks in Solman, basic-initial configuration and then working mainly in setting Solutions, RFCs, System Monitoring, EWA, SAP services, OSS connections, Diagnostic, E2E Root Cause Analysis and also support in ChaRM (in setting up the transport routes, security)
On the other hand, I support a role of SolMan Functional Administrator which deals with Implemenation side, ASAP methodologies, business process definition, integration with ARIS, setting up project standards, coaching Project Managers, ensuring good application information.  Also in Service Desk and ChaRM, setting the process, customizing, implementing and controlling that things are running smooth in SolMan productive.
I would like to get from you your inputs and experiences regarding how to set-up those roles, whether there are clear lines to divide responsiblities or what kind of definitions should be made.
    Many thanks
    Esteban Hartzstein
    Director
    Tebyon Consulting

As recommended by some colleagues I am also investigating Customer Center of Excelence as a reference to define roles and responsibilities, particularly in the concept of Application Lifecycle Management.
    Any other input is welcome.

  • Solution Manager - Logical Component for SAP Netweaver EHP2

    Hello,
I installed the newest SAP Netweaver Ehp2 (with usage type AS ABAP only) for a future integrating with BI_CONT (SAP BI requirement). So... what I want to know is... I want to do an update of support packages to the latest Stack (SPS) and in this product version (NW EHP2) the latest stack is stack 06 !! But I ´m facing with a problem which is, because I have to maintain this system in Solution Manager (for Maintenance Optimizer activity)...so what I want is configure this new system on Solution Manager Ehp1 (with SPS 23) but in tcode SMSY I didn´t found this Product in Logical Components for I can apply this system to my Solution... I only see SAP Netweaver with EHP1 and not with EHP2 which is the version that I want to apply this new system. (This is mandatory task, because without it, I will not be able to download the support packages for NW 7.0 EHP2)
Tell me two things... first if this level version of Solution Manager that I have here (SPS 23) have this product in logical components, and two... if not it, is necessary to raise the level of Solution Manager support packages (to latest stack SPS 25) for I can see that logical component SAP Netweaver EHP2?!
    Thank you very much
    João Dimas - Portugal

    Hi João,
You can verify if the EHP2 is available (if) in your system, this can be done once you are in SMSY -> Product Definitions -> SAP Netweaver where you should able to see the EHP2. If so, then it's a matter of marking the leading Product & Product Version under the Header Data ->Change Product Assignment where you can use the drop down arrow to select the Product and Product Version. If it's not available, then by checking the 'Free Product / Select Product Version' then use the drop down arrow to select the product & Product Version, once you selected that then click on copy and mark that as active and save.
Then you need to create a new logical component in System Group & logical Component under SAP Netweaver, then assign the system to the logical component. Once this is done you can use the logical component in a solution and create a maintenance transaction.
I hope this help you to proceed further, thanks.
    Jay Soma.
