Problem with a recordset with multiple field

Ive a problem with Dreamweaver and SQL query.
This query works:
SELECT *
FROM table
WHERE table.field1 LIKE %MMColParam%
The MMColParam is a Request.Form("variable") from a previous
form in ASP page.
But if i try to extend to two or more fields the WHERE
function with OR, like the following query, i receive a syntax
error!
SELECT *
FROM table
WHERE table.field1 LIKE %MMColParam% OR table.field2 LIKE
%MMColParam%
Whats the right syntax format for this type of query?

If you are using the tabbed user form, then there is a <FormRef> to 'MissingFields'. This special form will build a text box and label for each Left-hand side schema attribute for every assigned resource, if that attribute is not already represented by a field on the form.... got all that?
So, if you create a new field on the form, Missing fields will not create a text box.
Check the sample/forms directory for examples of Multiselect fields.

If I have 2 fields on a line (this is now a hypothetical example and nothing to do with my actual report)….let’s call them field A and field B. And if field A has values of all ‘X’ and field B has values of all ‘Y’…then….the normal case would be (ignore dots – only for spacing):

But what if A is too long? I would want to see B wrap onto the next line like this:

And similarly….if B is extra long, can the line print as:
A………………………. B

I don’t want the case where B is long and I get:

I can see how you can wrap an individual field like that…but how can you WRAP a line of[b] fields within the frame so it wraps to the BEGINNING of the frame on next line?
My SPECIFIC CASE
I have a report that I have stripped down to a simple structure for the purposes of this explanation.
My DATA MODEL has the main QUERY (for plant family and species data). The columns of the query are divided into 2 groups. The 1st GROUP contains the family data. Below that is the rest of the species data in a 2nd GROUP.
Linking from the 2nd species group (above) is a new QUERY to extract REGION data based on the common key field. Under this 2nd query is another group with all the REGION columns.
The LAYOUT MODEL has a group frame (the main , base one)
On top of this is a repeating frame based on the 1st group (family data).
On top of this is another repeating frame for the 2nd group (species data).
On top of this is 2 Frames on the same line line. The 1st frame contains columns from the species group .
The 2nd frame on this line is a repeating frame. The PRINT DIRECTION for this frame is ACROSS/DOWN. It repeats details of the REGION where the species is found. These columns come from this group come from the REGION QUERY and GROUP.
All fields on the report line have variable horizontal elasticity.
The problem is that when there is too much data on the line, it does NOT WRAP to the 2nd line.. It TRUNCATES.
Can the line be made to WRAP????..
In my current report, 1 of 2 things is happening:
1) All fields print on the line until it hits the page boundary and then it just stops. Truncated!
2) All fields print on the current line, then Oracle Reports throws a new page to print the REMAINDER of the long, input line
But I would like a LONG line to continue printing onto the following line of the same page.
I have tried all combinations of the elasticity fields and the ‘ADVANCED LAYOUT’ properties.
I have been focussing my attention with this problem on the frames .
We are using REPORT BUILDER V 6.0.8.26.0

I've done as you suggested....I have a long text boilerplate item - the only 1 on the line...and it has all the column in it.
So it looks like:
&col1 &col2 &col3 &col4 &col5 etc etc etc
And the line expands nicely to each field's requirements.
And when it gets to the right page boundary...it WRAPS to the next line! Beautiful!!!
The only thing is that...when I had individual fields across the line I was able to create format triggers for those fields. And in doing so I was able to reduce the font and change the justification. I had to do that because some of the fields had to appear superscripted.
So I wanted something like (ignore the dots):
...................................ppppp
AAAA BBBB CCCCC DDDD EEEE FFFFFF
So the field of 'ppppp' appeared slightly higher on the line than the other fields...
I can't see how I can do this with a single TEXT field containing all the &COL values.
Have you ever come across anything like this?

Problem with READ Statement in the field routine of the Transformation

read statement is working well when i was checked in the debugging mode, it's not working properly for the bulk load in the background. below are the steps i have implemented in my requirement.

2.i have read same internal table in the field routine for each source_package entry and i am setting the flag for that field .

I have a PDF form that I want to pre-fill multiple fields with example text that disappears onFocus. Is there a way to do this?

Pretty much what my subject line says. My client wants example text in the fields of a PDF form that will disappear when the cursor enters the field. When I try this with show/hide layers, the layer becomes visible as soon as I enter form editing mode, and the action doesn't work properly. Any help? I was able to get it to work with a single field, but multiple fields with example text on multiple layers doesn't work for some reason.

Auto Suggest with multiple fields?

Hello,
I am planning on using the autosuggest on a project I'm
working on, and was surprised by the lack of support for multiple
fields. Correct me if I'm wrong, but right now you can only search
for the 'name' field or 'age' etc. I would like to be able to enter
some text in the textinput field, and it would search both 'name'
and 'username' in the dataset. Is this possible with the current
widget?

Indeed the Auto Suggest widget do not support filtering the
data against multiple fields simultaneously if the data is filtered
on the client side. I will add this as an enhancement request for
this brand new widget. We have only support for multiple fields to
be displayed in the suggestion list which is a spry:region, you can
insert the values of multiple fields concatenated through the
spryLsuggest tag buy we are not able to check multiple fields,
We have implemented also the ability to send the value typed
on the server and expect a new XML with the filtered data. This
method allow you to achieve your goak as you can control
completelly the filtering algorithm that sends the data back in
browser. We have some samples in the Spry 1.5 preview.

Combo box with multiple variables pre populating multiple fields and max value validation script help

I am creating a pdf form that will be used as a calculator, and my javascript knowledge is pretty rudimentary. I can do the simple things, some of what I need to do is over my head.
1. I believe I need to use a combo box to pre populate certain fields. I have 13 variables in the dropdown to choose from, and whatever the client chooses will pre populate three other fields (and each of the 13 variables will populate those three fields differently). I'm not exactly sure how to go about doing this. Is it custom keystroke script or does it require a document script? Also, I'm guessing that whatever script will be a series of if/then statements, correct?
2. Once all the fields have been populated (be it pre population or filled in by the customer), I need to calculate the answer which is not my main problem—I already have the proper calculations in place and they work. The problem is that the answer has a maximum value even if the actual value goes over that max number. So, the actual answer is 14 but the max value can only be 12. How do I get the calculation to replace that actual number (14) with the max number (12)? Is that in the validation tab or should that go elsewhere?
I feel like I know just enough to be dangerous but not terribly effective. Any help is appreciated.

Problem with BO Data Services - Multiple Dataflows in single WorkFlow

I have defined a single job, with one workflow and multiple data flows within the workflow.
The idea is to build a single load file adding data from each subsequent data flow. For example
- First Data Flow adds header records
- Second adds 1st level details
- Third adds subsequent details
- etc
- Last Dataflow sorts the output file created in the previous dataflows into the correct order
Building this in stages the first data flow worked with the subsequent data flows blank.
Then added the second data flow and linked to the first which caused the job to fail.
Error Message as follows

What you described should work. Personally, I'd write the output of the first dataflow to a table, just to insure your output is what you think it is. Then test the second against the data in the table you created in the first workflow. Continue the process until each independent job works as expected. Then combine into the single workflow.

Creating external table - from a file with multiple field separators

I need to create an external table from a flat file containing multiple field separators (",", ";" and "|").
Is there any way to specifiy this in the CREATE TABLE (external) statement?
FIELDS TERMINATED BY "," -- Somehow list more than just comma here?
We receive the file from a vendor every week. I am trying to set up a process for some non-technical users, and I want to keep this process transparent to them and not require them to load the data into Oracle.

Need help with a recordset

I need some help with a recordset that selects a series of
vehicle makes that then show models when a make is selected. The
problem is when I select the make it shows a list of models like it
should, some of the make lists have five models and some have ten
or more. What I need help with is how to limit the list to just the
models and not include the "null" values. This makes my drop down
list have large empty spaces at the end of the options listed. The
query is as follows:
SELECT *
FROM saa.vehicle_make
WHERE make = '#FORM.select_make#'
Question # 2:
What can I add to this recordset so that I can search on just
the make alone without the model included. The submit includes both
of the make and model lists so that makes it tough to break up.
Here is the recordset:
SELECT make
FROM saa.vehicle_make
ORDER BY make ASC

Sorry I guess I wasn't being clear. The lists work fine with
the present recordsets but I was trying to clean them up just a
little. I am using a table in mysql instead of an array for ease of
maintenance due to the high number of makes and models I am working
with.
For question number one I was looking for sql that allows me
to only show the models in the table for each make no matter how
many are in the row. Currently when I use the existing recordset I
get a long list of blank spaces as it is returning the "null"
fields also. I would like it to just show the models and stop at
the first null field.
For the second question I wanted to be able to submit the
form with just the make listed if someone wanted to see all Hondas
lets say. Not I have to select the make also so it limits the
return.

Multiple Field Read Problem

When I run the following query out of a CF script, no records
are returned:

However, running the same query out of a MS ACCESS direct
query, the query returns the expected results. It appears to be
something with accessing more than one field at a time. Running the

then your problem isn't with multiple items in your WHERE
clause, your problem is that specific check.
Put the following code right before the <cfquery> to
verify what's in that division coldfusion variable:
<cfoutput>Division = -#division#-</cfoutput>
Note the dashes. Now copy and paste the contents in between
the dashes (including any leading/trailing spaces that may be
there) into your query in MS Access. Does that work? No? Why? are
there extra leading/trailing spaces that need to be removed? If so,
put #trim(division)# in there instead of just #division#.

Daily Problems with Mail Synchronizing with Exchange Server

Our office uses Comcast Business Class Service, which uses 2007 Exchange Servers, for internet access and email. I upgraded my MacPro from 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard 10.6.2, using the Upgrade DVD. The upgrade process kept my original Leopard Mail settings, which were using POP. At that time, I had not problems with email.
Unfortunately, awhile ago my Mail Preferences became corrupt, and I had to delete them. Upon relaunching Mail, the application wanted to use the new Autosync method to connect to the Comcast Exchange Server. Using POP was not an option.
I must say that I am less than impressed with the way Mail integrates with Exchange Servers. I have daily problems, and experience these problems multiple times per day. When they happen, they slow my email communication down to a crawl; sometimes for as much as an hour.
Specifically, the problem appears to be with Mail's ability (or inability) to properly synchronize with Exchange Servers. I get he spinning pizza icons next to the two Exchange email accounts I have in my Mailboxes source column. Opening the Activity window shows that the synchronizing process has slowed everything down. This results in not being able to send or receive email until the synchronizing is complete. And as I said, that can sometimes take as long as an hour.
Stopping the process in the Activity window does not resolve the issue. Nor does quitting and relaunching Mail. Because the next time Mail attempts to connect to the Exchange Server, it will try to synchronize yet again. The problem has become so chronic, that I often have to resort to using Webmail while waiting of the synchronizing process to complete.
Incidentally, the mailboxes that are synchronizing are empty! I am meticulous about keeping my Inbox, Sent, Drafts, and Trash mailboxes empty at all times. I do not use To-Do's, Notes, or Calendars of any kind on the Exchange Server, so there is no data to even sync!
Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a fix? Other email accounts I have, which use POP or IMAP, do not have this issue. There does not appear to be away to abandon the Autosync Mail setup and revert back to POP. If there is, I will do it in a heartbeat.

Found a solution that works for me. Delete the problem account that's using AutoDiscover to sync with the exchange server. Before doing that, however, you will want to clear out the Inbox, Sent and even Trash folder for that account, as deleting it will remove the messages that currently reside in those folders. Just simply move them to another folder. You can move them back after re-creating the account.
The second step is to re-create the account. Do this as you would normally, and enter in your name, username and password. THE TRICK: Press and hold the Option key when you click Continue. After Mail connects to the server and verifies your account information, you will then have a pull down menu that will allow you to choose Exchange Server, IMAP and POP. Simply select POP or IMAP, then fill out the rest of the fields.
Viola! No more problematic Exchange Server syncing issues.

Recordset - updating 2 tables with 1 recordset using application object update record

I have a recordset that uses a field from 2 different tables
with a select statement where clause that joins a userid. I can
display the field’s data just fine. Now I want to use the
Application object “update record” so I can modify
either of the fields. The problem is the Application object
“update record” only allows you to update one table.
How does Dreamweaver mx 2004 allow me to update 2 tables with one
recordset and 1 submit button? Currently using php.
Example of where:
Where member.userid = member_detail.userid
I tried creating the one form with the field from the first
table and that works just fine. I added the other field from the
other table into the form but ofcourse there isn’t any code
that will update the second table so it won’t work.
My application requires me to update alot of fields between 2
tables at the same time.
Does anyone know a way using Dreamweaver mx 2004 to do this?
I don’t have much php experience.

Not even CS3 has this built in, you will either have to code
it yourself
or buy the extension you have found. Dreamweaver gives you
basic
features to help you develop applications, but if you want to
do
anything really clever you have to do it yourself.
One thing to consider is maybe creating an SQL view that is
can be
updated. I am pretty sure it exists, then you use the view
instead of
the table in the update behaviour. I have never done it
myself, but I am
sure it can be done.
