Problem with BC4J in 10g: incorrect Date formatting
I have PL/SQL procedure, which is called from bc4j-struts-application like this:
CallableStatement cs = getDBTransaction().createCallableStatement(FIND_USER_RESP_STMT,0);
cs.execute();
It return an exeption with this message:
ORA-01403: no data found
ORA-06512: at "CRN.CRN_UTIL", line 115
ORA-06512: at "CRN.CRN_UTIL", line 323
ORA-06512: at "CRN.CRN_RESPONSIBILITY", line 85
ORA-01843: not a valid month
ORA-06512: at line 1
I don't send any data parameter for this procedure. When I try to call it from JDeveloper connections debug, it runs succesfully. I try to create bc4j entity to query:
select to_char(sysdate, 'DD-MON-YYYY') X,
to_char(sysdate, 'DD-MM-YYYY') Y from dual
and it retrieves:
27-¿¿¿-2004
27-09-2004
Date constant is used in PL/SQL procedure with format 'DD-MON_YYYY', but I can't change it, because it used by many other applications.
My local setting is english, USA, and I have the second language on my PC - russian.
JDeveloper 9.0.5.2. This code runs succesfully in JDeveloper 9.0.3.3.
How can I send bc4j date setting in normal format to solve this problem? And where can I find bc4j local settings, which are sended by bc4j to server?
Regards, Nikolay
Hello,
The problem is still available. Could anybody help?

Problem with SQL*Loader and different date formats in the same file
DB: Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bi
System: AIX 5.3.0.0
Hello,
I'm using SQL*Loader to import semi-colon separated values into a table. The files are delivered to us by a data provider who concatenates data from different sources and this results in us having different date formats within the same file. For example:
...;2010-12-31;22/11/1932;...
I load this data using the following lines in the control file:
EXECUTIONDATE1 TIMESTAMP NULLIF EXECUTIONDATE1=BLANKS "TO_DATE(:EXECUTIONDATE1, 'YYYY-MM-DD')",
DELDOB TIMESTAMP NULLIF DELDOB=BLANKS "TO_DATE(:DELDOB, 'DD/MM/YYYY')",
The relevant NLS parameters:
NLS_LANGUAGE=FRENCH
NLS_DATE_FORMAT=DD/MM/RR
NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE=FRENCH
If I load this file as is the values loaded into the table are 31 dec 2010 and 22 nov *2032*, aven though the years are on 4 digits. If I change the NLS_DATE_FORMAT to DD/MM/YYYY then the second date value will be loaded correctly, but the first value will be loaded as 31 dec *2020* !!
How can I get both date values to load correctly?
Thanks!
SylvainThis is very strange, after running a few tests I realized that if the year is 19XX then it will get loaded as 2019, and if it is 20XX then it will be 2020. I'm guessing it may have something to do with certain env variables that aren't set up properly because I'm fairly sure my SQL*Loader control file is correct... I'll run more tests :-(

Hey floridiansue,
Do you have an installed email program such as Microsoft Outlook? If your email is through an online login, such as Gmail, etc, then one will have to create an email association with a program such as Microsoft Outlook on the PC for this Scan to Email system to function.

Hi Support,
I am trying to use FMLE to encode and stream video from an Axis P1346 IP camera, via Axis' Streaming Assistant software, to a Wowza server.
Everyting appears to be working perfectly and the encoding and resultant stream quality is excellent. Sometimes after a few hours and sometimes after just a few minutes, the encoding will stop with the following error:
Tue Mar 26 2013 11:47:18 : Session Stopped
Tue Mar 26 2013 11:47:18 : Problem with capture device. Incorrect samples given by the device. Stopping encoding session.
I have attached a recent log of a session that only lasted a few minutes - do you have any ideas on how to resolve this instability?

Any inputs / help would be appreciated.
Regards,
ManishThe SCRP_CODE column has a NOT NULL constraint. The ORA-01407 error is telling you that you cannot update or set a value for this column to null because of the constraint. This has absolutely nothing to do with an index. You can use a marker/sentinel value in lieu of using NULL. For a numeric field, where everything is positive, a negative value (-1) can be decoded as meaning null. For a character field, a code such as NA can represent NULL.
This also has nothing to do (directly) with GoldenGate failing because of this error. The underlying SQL statement will fail everywhere, regardless of the tool or application. It is not a case of failing only in GoldenGate. -
Problem with Emailing the Internal table data as an excel attachment
Hi Friends,
I am facing problem with Emailing an internal table data as an excel file. I am using standard function module "SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1" which is using SOLI structure can have record with 255 character length. But my Internal table having each record means after concatenating all the fields it is going to be morethan 450 characters. so i t is not displaying all the data in excel file.
Can somebody help me if there is any other function module or any other way that i need to follow.
thanks for help
venkat.You must use the the :
CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>HORIZONTAL_TAB as a field seperator and
CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>CR_LF as a record seperator.
Check this example:

[URGENT] Performance problem with BC4J and partioned data
Hi all,
I have a big performance probelm with BC4J and partitioned data. As as partitioned table shouldn't have a primary key like a sequence (or something else) my partitioned table doesn't have any primary key.
When I debug my BC4J application I can see a message showing me "ignoring row with no primary key" from EntityCache. It takes a long time to retrieve my data even if I use the partition keys. A quick & dirty forms application was multiple times faster!
Is this a bug in BC4J, or is BC4J not suitable for partitioned data? Can anyone give me a hint what to do, do make the BC4J application fast even with partitioned data? In a non-partitioned environment the application works quite well. So it seams that it must be an "error" somewhere in this part.
Thanks,
AxelHere's a SQL statement that creates the table.

JboException:JBO-33001 Problem with bc4j.xcfg file

Incorrect date format in Crystal Report XI
I have a problem with date in reports if Day in date (yyyy/mm/dd) less than 12.
Problem is:
I create a report (through application). If I check the instance of the report created on Crystal Server (in Central Management Console) it's correct. If I try to download (open or save) this report to workstation (through application) Day and month changed places and date become incorrect.
Any attempts to play with regional settings in workstation did not help.
What is the problem here and how I can resolve the issue?
Any advices will be appreciated.Hi,

Hotspot appear always to search and never stop
internet is not working without internet APN data
Tethering APN never save the data
Vodafone carrier checked and mentioned that the no problem with the SIM
Tradeline checked and the IOS was latest 6.1, but asked to reinstall from scratch
Please adviceI have this _same_ issue, exactly. Initial backup goes just fine, but incremental backups fail. And like you, I replaced the internal drive.
The failures didn't start occuring long after the original drive was replaced--which was about 1 year ago. The new drive was non-Apple and worked fine--and tests fine now as well when outside the TC. But suddenly incremental backups started failing when the TC firmware and utility app were updated about 2-3 months ago. I even swapped the internal non-Apple drive for another known-working non-Apple drive, and same results.
I strongly suspect Apple added something to the firmware to check if it's an Apple or non-Apple drive in the TC and, if the latter, maybe causes incremental backups to fail. This is only speculation and, obviously, the initial backup still works, so any checksum like this would have to be only during the incremental backup process.
I'll be checking into this thred to see if others have the same issue, or if a solution is found. Hopefully my hypothesis is just para-apple-noia and it's some small, easy-to-fix issue.

Most (non-spatial) batch processes run in half the time. However, the below statement is radically slower. The below statement ran in 45 minutes before. On the new machine it hasn't finished after 10 hours. I am able to get a 5% sample of the customers to finish in 45 minutes.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to approach this problem? Any chance something isn't installed correctly on the new machine (the nth version of the query finishe, albeit 20 times slower)?
Appreciate any help. Thanks.

create table nearest_store
as
select /*+ ordered */
a.customer_id,
b.store_id nearest_store,
round(mdsys.sdo_nn_distance(1),4) distance
from customers a,
stores b
where mdsys.sdo_nn(
b.geometry,
a.geometry,
'sdo_num_res=1, unit=mile',
1
) = 'TRUE'
;Dan,
customers 110,000 (involved in this query)
stores 28,000
Here is the execution plan on the current machine:
CREATE TABLE STATEMENT cost = 81947
LOAD AS SELECT
PX COORDINATOR
PX SEND QC (RANDOM) :TQ10000
ROW NESTED LOOPS
1 1 PX BLOCK ITERATOR
1 1ROW TABLE ACCESS FULL CUSTOMERS
1 3 PARTITION RANGE ALL
1 3 TABLE ACCESS BY LOCAL INDEX ROWID STORES
DOMAIN INDEX STORES_SIDX
I can't capture the execution plan on the old database. It is gone. I don't remember it being any different from the above (full scan customers, probe stores index once for each row in customers).
I am trying the query without the create table (just doing a count). I'll let you know on that one.
I am at 10.0.1.3.
Here is how I created the index:
create index stores_sidx
on stores(geometry)
indextype is mdsys.spatial_index LOCAL
Note that the stores table is partitioned by range on store type. There are three store types (each in its own partition). The query returns the nearest store of each type (three rows per customer). This is by design (based on the documented behavior of sdo_nn).
In addition to running the query without the CTAS, I am also going try running it on a different machine tonight. I let you know how that turns out.
The reason I ask about the install, is that the Database Quick Installation Guide for Solaris says this:
"If you intend to use Oracle JVM or Oracle interMedia, you must install the Oracle Database 10g Products installation type from the Companion CD. This installation optimizes the performance of those products on your system."
And, the Database Installlation Guide says:
"If you plan to use Oracle JVM or Oracle interMedia, Oracle strongly recommends that you install the natively compiled Java libraries (NCOMPs) used by those products from the Oracle Database 10g Companion CD. These libraries are required to improve the performance of the products on your platform."
Based on that, I am suspicious that maybe I have the product installed on the new machine, but not correctly (forgot to set fast=true).
Let me know if you think of anything else you'd like to see. Thanks.

Stacked 100% bar chart - Problem with datatips for zero value data points
I have a stacked 100% bar chart that shows datatips in Flex 4. However, I don't want it to show datatips for
data points with zero values. Flex 4 shows the datatip for a zero value data point on the left side of a bar if the data point is not the first in the series.
Here's the code that illustrates this problem. Of particular concern is the July bar. Because of the zero value data point problem, it's not possible to see the datatip for "aaa".
Any ideas on how we can hide/remove the datatips for zero value data points ? Thanks.
