Problem with branch authorization scheme

Hello,
I am trying to use 2 non-conditional branches (onsubmit after processing) with different authorization schemes (the first one should be executed for USER, the second - for ADMIN). But it doesn't work - the branch with smaller sequence number is executed in spite of the fact that user has no right because of authorization scheme of this branch (the second one should be executed for this user).
Why do this happens?

We use our own installation of HTML DB, so it is not on the Oracle site.
The first branch (which is executed in spite of authorization) sets page-item using value of item which is not accessible for this user (using the same authorization scheme as branch). Therefore this value equels null (we don't setup this item for this user) instead of using another branch with another value.

This seems to indicate that there is a problem with the sample schema - that GLOBAL.CHANNEL_DIM.TOTAL_ID doesn't exist. Is that right?
On the topic of the sample schemas, a quick question. The install script runs without error so presumably the tables described in the readme had been installed, but I'm not sure. How can I verify this? When I connect as global using Oracle SQL Developer and expand 'Tables' in the right hand pane, I don't see any tables at all. I would have (perhaps naively) expected to see the tables listed in the samples schemas readme, eg, CHANNEL_DIM. Should I have? If not, how can I view these tables? Thanks in advance for any input anyone may have.

Problems with creating SH Schema in exists Database 10.2.0.2

I have problem with installation SH Demo Schema in exists Oracle Database 10.2.0.2 Enterprise Edition on Windows 2003 EE SP1
First I could try to configure my DB in Oracle Confuguration Assistant but I couldn't to add examles schemas there.
Then I installed Companion 10.2.0.1 with examples schemas in $ORACLE_HOME Database 10.2.0.2 and executed script sh_main.sql under SYS user.
After all SH Schema created in our DB but data exists in only two tables such as COSTS and SALES_TRANSACTIONS_EXT.
I haven't any more data in others tables.
In my log files I see follow :

The document you are refering to is OK, but it assumes you already have installed the demo files.
In order for the demo to be installed and working, some requirements must be met.
You must have installed DB10g Enterprise Edition, as demos such as SH require the partitioning option, available only on E.E.
Start a second installation from the companion disk, start your oracle installer, select Database Products, verify the Oracle Home details are the same as those of your Oracle Home, confirm the action and install.
At the end of the installation you must see these directories at the $ORACLE_HOME/demo/schema directory:
bus_intelligence mk_dir.sql.ouibak    mkunplug.sql   sales_history

Problem with setting Authorization

I created a sample survey using the downloadable Survey app on the hosted apex site. The Survey is meant to be public, but I want the Admin, reports pages to require login.
At first it looked very straightforward since when I click on security for the page attributes, there already seems to be an Authorization Scheme listed in the drop down list "Must Not Be Public User" and an Authentication item "Page Requires Authentication". Looked perfect for what I needed. But when I apply the changes, the public user still can access the pages! What am I missing? Or am I too naive to think such functionality was actually built into this version of Apex and applicable to this particular application.

Something I've done is to create custom Authorization schemes for the types of users that access my applications through Single Sign On. I grab their ID and then do a select based on a table where I identify the level of security they have. And then I set the Authorization to "Page requires authentication".
In my authorization scheme I use a PL/SQL function that returns a boolean to determine what the user may or may not be able to see.
My code is something like:

Problem with report authorizations

Hi,
I have assinged role with same set of query. A second role works like restriction to Business Area (for example: L000).
problem:
It doesn't work with InfoProviders of CO module. I want to make the restriction authorization of the users like I said above, but it doesn't want to work.
I can't do the restricted authorizations of the users to these reports, which use the Controlling (CO) data. Everything is ok, when I attach the same roles to the report, which are created from other data (FI, AA, etc.).
No authorization can be done with InfoProviders, which belong to CO.
What has happened?
Any minds?

Problem with HR Authorization

Dear Experts,
One of our requirements in HR is that we do not want users to execute standard reports for all infotypes and personnel areas. So we have created roles based on infotypes and personnel areas for auth object P_ORGIN.
Authorization level        R

We have assigned this profile to a user and when we run the standard reports with this userid, it works perfectly i.e., I do see the output for the PERSAs starting with DE only.
We have a requirement to change a standard report to add few extra fields in the output...The problem is that the changed report shows me all the PERNRs...The standard report shows the PERNRs with PERSAs starting with DE but the custom one shows all PERNRs. Ofcourse the PERNRs with PERSAs not starting with DE don't show up any values...It just displays the PERNR and all other blanks....
Any ideas on why the authorizations not working for the custom report ?

You have to add the authorization object code something like bellow shown in start of selection event.

1Z0-051 SQL Fundamentals 1 Exam Guide Problem with loading HR schema

I’m new to Oracle Databases and have started studying with Oracle Press 11g SQL Fundamentals 1 Exam Guide 1Z0-051.
The book is good except the problem I have is the HR schema they talk about is made up off seven tables (Countries, Departments, Employees, Job_History, Jobs, Locations and Regions).
But the HR schema that I get is only made up off 4 tables (Bonus, Dept, Emp, Salgrade).
Can anyone who has used this book please advise what I’m doing wrong and how I can get the correct Schema please.

Well I haven't used that book but with whatever little I know , I shall try to attempt the question.
There was an ancient schema for Human Resource, SCOTT which is haivng 4 tables only. Since 9i, there were an introduction of new schemas like HR ( Human Resource), OE( Order Entry) and so on. So the book is referring to that.
Now when you create the database using Database Configuration Assistant, there comes an option with a check box, that do you want to create sample schemas or not? If you select that option, you get all these schemas in your db. If not, you only get the old SCOTT schema.
If you have missed creating these schemas( which I belive is the case) than you need to manually create them. Here is the description for how to create them manually.

Problem with an old schema at deploy time BPEL 10.1.3.3.1

I recently upgraded a schema DLReportCommon-1.1-SNAPSHOT.xsd. I cleared all my references to the old schema 1.0. I have no compilation errors. Once I tried to deploy however I got the response bellow.
I have tried to:
* Undeploy the instance first.
* Clear the WSDL cache
* Undeploy every instance that could have referenced the old schema
* bounce the BPEL console
* turn up deploying debug
* change to a different domain and get the same problem consistently
* tried to deploy similar BPEL flows that reference all the new schema and they succeed ok.

I finally got around this problem
1. I set up a fake bpel project that is empty with the same name as the old project.
2. I deploy the new project
3. Without undeploying I deploy the old project on top. Works...
Really not proud of the solution. If anyone has a better suggestion please let me know.
Again I have tried clearing up the wsdl cache and bouncing the server; is there anywhere else where this information could be stored on the server?

Problems with putting the Schema on the query!!!! Need Help.

I have a problem and a doubt about putting schema name on my query. I want to know if is neccesery specify the schema name on the query I want to execute. All my queries are on my application, I connect from the begging to my oracle data base with a user and password, this user is only alow for that schema. So my question is if I can ommit the schema name on the query.

Select * from Schema.Table
Select * from Institution.Student

don't use words that you don't know!
also, your example (in the first post) gave the schema.table as INSTITUTION.STUDENT
so these are all words that you started with.
now, PAY ATTENTION and RUN THE EXAMPLE SQLS I GAVE
connect to the database as INSTITUTION (user, schema, I don't care which).
execute the sql statement "select * from student".
did it do anything? did it return data, did it say "no rows", or did it have an error? my magic 8 ball and x-ray glasses are broken and I can't see you monitor (my old computer only has that one way window). if it works, then you clearly do not need to put be "putting the Schema on the query!!!!". if it didn't work, then TELL US EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED (copy AND paste).
and where are my cigars ;-)

Problems with belated authorization

first we installed adobe digital editions on computer 1 without an Adobe ID. Then we tried to authorize it belated with an existing Adobe ID but it didn't work out. The error message was: It is not possible to authorize with an ID which is used on another computer. How can we solve this problem? Thanks in advance!

Almost certainly a case of typically unhelful and wrong error message by ADE.
try:
Open ADE.
In Library view, enter ctrl-shift-D (cmd-shift-D if on Mac). That should clear the implicit/anonymous ID it generated when you installed and ran 'without' ID.
Restart ADE.
You should now be able to register with your correct ID.

Problem with analysis authorization- 0BI_ALL always needed

Dear all:
we have a serious issue on so-called "analysis authorization" now. We have auth-restricted user who only have authorization to access data on one company code. We also create a BI-authorization in analysis authorization and assign the following auth-relevant object to this authorization-
0TCAACTVT = 01-03
0TCAIPROV = ALL
0TCAVALID = ALL
0TCAKYFNM = ALL
0COMP_CODE = A001
And we create one query with only company code and number of employee in the row and column. But everytime we execute this query, there s always message" No Authorization". We used ST01 to trace and the result shows we need to have "0BI_ALL" in auth object S_RS_AUTH. If we added 0BI_ALL, all company code data will display, which definitely no auth restriction at all. Is there any specific authorization setting we need to do?
We are stuck here pretty bad. Thank you all in advance if any input.

Hi,
I guess the Authorization profile is active , and in the Tcode PFCG -> Role name -> User tab page ( user comparision is done ).
Check if any of the tab page shows red light .
And assignment of 0BI_ALL is not a solution , as any user can do anything in the system.
Also do not forget to log - off and log-in into system after changing into any of the authorization profile to see changes that had happened.

Problem with JDOM and schemas

I'm trying to parse (and validate) an XML document with JDOM.
My root element is declared in the schaema whixh is asociated to the document.
But during parsing, an exception saying that my root element is not declared is thrown.
Can someone axplain to me what can happen ?

Problem with branching on dependant list submit

I am a new APEX user using version 3.1. I've successfully set up a dependent LOV on a form but the logic I've applied is preventing me creating any records. (I've branched back to the page and I think this is conflicting with my primary key trigger.) I've spent a couple of days trying to solve this - can anyone help please?
THE BIT THAT WORKS
My driving LOV has been set up as a select list with submit and returns the values that I intended.
I have amended the Source used on the first LOV to : Only when the value in session state is null (so that this selection is displayed when I return to the page)
I have set up a branch back to this page before processing so that I can continue with the rest of the form input.
Both select list works but when I try to create a record the form does clear (apart from the select lists) but no record is created.
For info, the create button worked just fine until I added the branch back to the page.
I think this may be conflicting with how I've set up my primary key? I've used a trigger for this as follows:

The key was to create the bindings for each input field:

Problems with paypal authorization

I am out of itunes cards and simply want to designate my paypal account to buy music. Everytime I try - it has me resign in with apple --->directs me to paypal -----> I accept terms and authorize---->I am redirected to download itunes on the apple site. I redownloaded, restarted computer and it just keeps going in an infinite loop on the situation I just described. I even tried to jump right into my own account info and the loop continues. I'm frustrated.... any suggestions? I am in the US

I'm having problems with my authorization. I get an error. check activation message and then when I try to erase authorization it tells me to try again at another time

If due to some reason, you are unable to deauthorize ADE, follow the below steps:
Windows:
Choose Start > Run.
In the Open text box, type regedit and then press Enter. The Registry Editor opens.
In the left pane of the Registry Editor, locate the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adept
Right-click the Adept key and choose Delete.
In the Confirm Key Delete dialog, click OK.
Your authorization will be deleted.
ADE will be deauthorized now.
Now Authorize ADE again.
