Problem with central build of Simple Date Type with Enumeration

Dear gurus,
I hope I'm posting this in the correct forum. Please advise if I'm in the wrong forum.
I have a Web Dynpro DC in which I've created a simple data type with enumeration.  It is used for binding to a radio box. The data type is called DownloadType; the enumeration contains two vales: current and archive. To allow me to access the enumeration values, I turn on the "Generate a class representation of the enumeration" in the data type builder.
I then reference the enumeration values with code like:
if (downloadType.equals (DownloadType._CURRENT))
    yada yada yada
This works fine when building locally and deploying directly. But when the DC is built by CBS (or doing a "Development Component->Build..." in NW Dev Studio), the build fails, stating that the DownloadType._CURRENT symbol cannot be resolved.
For example:
C:yadayadayada.java:227: cannot resolve symbol
symbol  : variable _CURRENT
location: class yadayadayada.DownloadType
                equals(DownloadType._CURRENT))  {
Apparently the central builder is not smart enough to handle the "Generate a class representation" flag.
Is this a known problem? Are there any workarounds?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

P.S. Environment: 2004s

Hi Kelly,
works for me using SP10, what SP are you on?
There's a line in the DC log that says:
     [ddgen] [Info]    Generating datatypes/com/x/x/x/MyEnum.java
and the java compiler includes the matching path for compilation:
      [echo]   source paths:
      [echo]     ...\_comp\src\packages

  • Dynamic Drop Down creation using simple data types

    Hi all,
    I have got a requirement in which i have to create an iView which is going to have 6 drop down values and with in that 1 value is going to have sub values which needs to get displayed in the similar drop down fashion.
    I have created a simple data type having enumeration of the 6 values and linked the same to iView with drop down by key which is working successfully. And for the purpose of sub values i have created a similar simple data type with two values and linked the same with a value attribute.
    Well, can any one tell me the further process to proceed ?
    Thanks in advance ...
    Vipin

    Vipin,
    There are quite some steps to achieve what you need. Since you have both your DropDownByKey elements defined and bound to context elements, it may make sense to keep the Second DropDownByKey element invisible and make it visible only when user selects a specified key from first DropDownByKey. To achieve this, follow these steps.
    1. Create an action with a parameter "key" of type string.
    2. Bind this action with onSelect event of your First DropDownByKey UI Element.
    3. Do mapping of parameter "key" in your wdDoModifyView with following code.
      if (firstTime)
             final IWDDropDownByKey dk = (IWDDropDownByKey)view.getElement("DropDownByKey1");
               // Replace DropDownByKey1 with id of your DropDownByKey Element.
             dk.mappingOfOnSelect().addSourceMapping("key", "key");
    4. Create a context attribute of type WDVisibility say "DDVisible" and bind to "visible" property of your second DropDownByKey.
    5. Set DDVisible to NONE in wdInit().
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setDDVisible(WDVisibility.NONE);
    6. In onSelect action write this code to make second visible
    if(key.equalsIgnoreCase("Two")){
         //Replace "Two" with your required value.
             wdContext.currentContextElement().setDDVisible(WDVisibility.VISIBLE);
           else{
                wdContext.currentContextElement().setDDVisible(WDVisibility.NONE);
    This should give the desired results.
    Hope this helps.
    Vishwas.

  • Simple Data Type in CAF of SAP NetWeaver DevStudio 7.1 SP3

    Hallo
    Anybody knows about the use of Enumeration for simple Data Type in CAF of SAP NetWeaver DevStudio 7.1 SP3?
    I've defined an attribute "status" for the Entity "Project" with the following values
    0: NEW;
    1: ACTIVE;
    -1: INACTIVE.
    As you see the data type is short.
    In the program I want to use the following code:
    Project myProject = new Project();
    myProject.setStatus(Status.NEW)
    But I found it out, it is inpossible to to use Status.NEW.
    On the other side I read the article of https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/085098ea-0c01-0010-12a8-80ac838bec85. This article is again not updated with the version 7.1 SP 3.
    I cannot understand about the whole changes. In the previous release we can define a DDIC type and use it as Simple Data type and in the new Release we just use the XSD-Facet to define an enumeration, but the problem is: we can not reference it in the program. I don't see any advantage.  And I tried to find out how I can define the attibute using DDIC type. I didn't get it.
    Thanks for any Hints!
    Kind Regards!

  • Problem to transform Flat file to Data Type Structurated and map to IDOC

    Hi all,
    I have a file to idoc scenario.

    4#!dades45#!b#!c#!d#!e#!f#!g
    5#!pos5
    where 1, 2, ... = key segments for the file adapter and #! are the field separator.
    this must go to a Data Type with substructures like this:
    (xml)
    .1
    ......2
    .3
    ......4
    ......5
    where 2 is inside 1 and 4-5 inside 3.
    The reason of this is we can get unbounded replays of 3/4/5 for one header.
    But XI reads the information like if all segments are headers.
    .1
    .2
    .3
    .4
    .5
    So the IDOC is bad created.
    Where is the issue?  At Message Mapping all substructures are mapped with his default and at TEST option it works fine.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Dear people,
    according to license problems at client, it's impossible to get the convert agent.
    so now we come back to try to solve with normal mapping.
    the next step is try to convert it using 2 message mappings: dt (flat xml) to dt (structurated) and this one to the idoc.
    i suppose it can be done adding program at interface mapping.
    I created the no hiereachical Data Type for load the information and it's fine. But i am unable to get the first mapping OK, because XI has problems with unbounded segments.
    If you agreed and has time, i copy here the information and his structure.

  • Howto call custom Oracel Data Type with TopLink?

    Hello,
    in our DB we have a custom Oracle type and a PL/SQL method which uses it.
    I would like to call the Oracle data type with TopLink. How can I do this?
    I could not find any documentation on this.
    I know JPublisher can do this but I don't want to use it!
    Please see code below

    CREATE TYPE My_Sub_Objects AS VARRAY (20) OF My_Sub_Object;
    CREATE TYPE My_object AS OBJECT (Object_id Number,
    Object_txt VARCHAR2(200),
    Sub_Objects My_Sub_Objects);
    ************PL/SQL-Method*****************************
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE My_object_pro

    Item_Sub_Objects := My_Sub_Objects(Item_Sub_Object);
    Item_Sub_Objects.Extend;
    Item_Sub_Object := My_Sub_Object(11, 'Sub Object 11');
    Item_Sub_Objects(2) := Item_Sub_Object;
    Item_Object := My_Object(1, 'Object', Item_Sub_Objects);
    End;
    /

    Object types and Varrays can be used from TopLink stored procedure calls. There was some support for this in 10.1.3, but the support in 11g (preview) is much better. You can also access the JDBC connection from TopLink or your DataSource and use JDBC directly.
    In TopLink 11g you can use an ObjectRelationalDescriptor to map the Object type to a Java class, and use this class as the argument type in your StoredProcedureCall.
    PL/SQL types are more difficult as they are not supported by JDBC, but your example only includes object types. If you had PL/SQL types you would need to wrap the types in object types, or use a PL/SQL block to convert them. TopLink 11g (preview 3) should have support for these as well.

    Hi,
    I have a flat structure table with 15-20 fields, and I need for one of the field a data type with more than 255 cars

    Which one should I use ? How should I proceed ?

    Hi Benjamin,
    use SE80, click repository info system, click dictionary - data elemets. Chose length > 1024. F8 to execute.
    Check where-used-list of what you like to use to make sure it is so frequently used that SAP will not change it.
    Or better create your own Z data element with required length

  • Issues in Simple Data Type - Float

    Hi SDN,
    I have created a simple data type of float and assigned to a context attribute. I have mentioned that  the minimum and maximum inclusive value for the float as 0.1 and 29.9. This is assigned to a field aaa. When the page loads for the first time, there appears 0 by default and if I dont edit the field and try saving, it doesnt throw any error message. It accepts the value which was very strange to me. But if I edit the value and put as 0.0, it throws error message saying, the acceptable value for the field is between 0.1 and 29.9.
    What should I do to resolve this issue? Also Can I make the field empty instead of a zero appearing the field?
    Regards,
    Ganesh N

    Hello Ganesh,
    Whatever the value you have provided only that values are allowed in that input field. if the value is 0 or 0.0 you can validate that attribute and throw an error message that "The Value should not be 0".

  • PLEASE HELP!!!  Problem with Java and SQLServer Text data type

    Hi there,
    I have a java app. that reads from an MS SQLServer database. Originally, all long text fields were declared as NVARCHAR(200). The program worked fine.
    Someone then advised that I change all long text fields to the TEXT data type. The program now crashes out with the following Exception:
    "java.sql.SQLException: [JRun][SQLServer JDBC Driver]This ResultSet can not re-read row data for column 25."
    Basically, I have a method that retrieves a resulset and iterates through it. The resultset is passed to another method during each iteration. In the example below, the 'specialNote' field used to be NVARCHAR(200). The code worked fine. Then when it was changed to TEXT, the program no longer works with the above Exception thrown.
    Anyone know any special way SQLServer TEXT data types need to be handled?
    Thanks for any advice!
    The code looks something like this in functionality:
    <CODE>
    public void method1 (Connection conn)
    Resultset rs = conn.createStatement().executeQuery("SELECT * FROM ProductBB");
    while (rs.next())
    method2(rs);
    public void method2 (ResultSet rs)
    String str = rs.getString("specialNote");
    </CODE>

    Hi JWoods,
    Thanks for the suggestion. I originally had the code do what you suggested, ie, get the resultset then retrieve the data all within the same method. The data is then used to set properties in an object.
    When I had to create another method that also retrieved a resultset but using a different primary key, then also use the returned data to set the properties in the same type of object, I didn't want to repeat the setter code. That's why I decided to pass the resultsets to the same method that did the property setting.
    Unfortunately, it stopped working with the data type change.
    Any other thoughts?

  • Issue with creating array of custom data type - WebLogic Integration

    Hi,
    We are doing WebLogic integration with Siebel for which from Siebel side we have generated java wrapper class which has all the methods, input\outputs defined and in\out params are serialized along with get\set methods. Following are the details of the input\output args.
    Account_EMRIO.java
    public class Account_EMRIO implements Serializable, Cloneable, SiebelHierarchy {
    protected String fIntObjectFormat = null;
    protected String fMessageType = "Integration Object";
    protected String fMessageId = null;
    protected String fIntObjectName = "Account_EMR";
    protected String fOutputIntObjectName = "Account_EMR";
    protected ArrayList <AccountIC> fintObjInst = null;
    Above class also includes constructors\overloaded constructor\getters\setters
    public AccountIC getfintObjInst() {
    if(fintObjInst != null) {
    return (AccountIC)fintObjInst.clone();
    }else{
    return null;
    public void setfintObjInst(AccountIC val) {
    if(val != null) {
    if(fintObjInst == null) {
    fintObjInst = new ArrayList<AccountIC>();
    fintObjInst.add(val);
    For the nested user defined data type AccountIC, it is defined in another java class as below
    AccountIC.java
    public class AccountIC implements Serializable, Cloneable, SiebelHierarchy {
    protected String fname = null;
    protected String fParent_Account_Id= null;
    protected String fPrimary_Organization = null;
    With the above, I was able to get all the AccountIC in the wsdl correctly and using this I was able to set the input param in the client
    WSDL:
    <xs:complexType name="accountEMRIO">
    <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="fIntObjectFormat" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0"/>
    <xs:element name="fIntObjectName" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0"/>
    <xs:element name="fMessageId" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0"/>
    <xs:element name="fMessageType" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0"/>
    <xs:element name="fOutputIntObjectName" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0"/>
    <xs:element name="fintObjInst" type="tns:accountIC" minOccurs="0"/>
    </xs:sequence>
    <xs:complexType name="accountIC">
    <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="fName" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0"/>
    <xs:element name="fParent_Account_Id" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0"/>
    <xs:element name="fPrimary_Organization" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0"/>
    minOccurs="0"/>
    </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
    Now, I wanted to make slight difference in getter method of class Account_EMRIO method getfintObjInst so that an array of AccountIC is retured as output.
    public ArrayList<AccountIC> getfintObjInst() {
    if(fintObjInst != null) {
    return (ArrayList<AccountIC>)fintObjInst.clone();
    }else{
    return null;
    With the above change, once the wsdl is generated, I am no longer getting fintObjInst field for AccountIC due to which I am unable to get the array list of accountIC
    WSDL:
    <xs:complexType name="accountEMRIO">
    <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="fIntObjectFormat" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0"/>
    <xs:element name="fIntObjectName" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0"/>
    <xs:element name="fMessageId" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0"/>
    <xs:element name="fMessageType" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0"/>
    <xs:element name="fOutputIntObjectName" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0"/>
    </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
    The issue that I am facing here is, we have a custom data type(AccountIC) which has several fields in it. In the output I need a array of AccountIC. In the java bean, when this type was defined as
    protected ArrayList <AccountIC> fintObjInst = null; I was unable to get a array of AccountIC. this gets complicated as inside a AccountIC there is array of contacts as well and all the time I am getting just the first records and not a array.
    To summarize: How to get xsd:list or maxoccurs property for a field in WSDL for the user defined\custom datatype?
    Can someone help me with this.
    Thanks,
    Sudha.

    can someone help with this??

  • Data type with large size in a table and updating it

    Hi guys,
    i am working on a requirement in which i need to create 4 tables. Here, 2 tables will be updated by the user and a program will update this content to the other 2 table.
    2 days before i posted a query on this, Previously i stucked on a part where, table need to entries with size char 400 and char 9000. As from the reply, i changed it to STRING with which table was sucessfully created and i was able to update data through a report program.
    Now we ned to provide an sm30 option to users, so they can insert new contents and update the status of old contents. But when i tried this table maintanance generator, i got an error that table contains string, so maintanance generator cannot be done ! i changed the data type to rawstring also. Now maintanance generator got saved, but when i open the table in sm30, i am getting dump saying tht table is using string/char etc.
    can anyone tell me what data type to use in this scenario with which we can enter data through sm30 ?

    Hi Kithu,
    you can use STRING (or XSTRING) fields. Then there is no limit on the field size. As long as it is not (fully) filled with data, no space is wasted.
    The disadvantage is that STRING type data are treated as 'deep' structures. That leads to some trouble in the definition of interfaces. Give it a try!

  • IT0041 : Same date type with different values in the same infotype

    Hi,
    Is it possible to store in the 0041 infotype, the same type date but with a diffentent date.
    Example :
    IT0041
    employee 1000:
    date type : xx 01.05.10
    date type : xx 02.05.10.....
    Thanks

    Hi there,
    My two cents.
    I don't think it can be done in standard. Also copying IT 0041 would limit you to enter only 12 dates.
    My suggestion:
    Create a custom infotype with subtype field and a date field like IT 0015.
    On the screen you will only be seeing subtype and date. And assign time constraint 3 to it.
    In this way with the same subtype you can record several dates.

  • Data Type with reference and view maintenance

    Dear all,
    There are two questions that I want to ask.
    1.     Error when referencing a table with data type = u2018STRINGu2019.
    I have a Z table with some fields = u2018stringu2019, when I use this as a reference, an error prompted.
    "ZTBL_ABC" must be a flat structure. You cannot use internal
    tables, strings, references, or structures as components.-
    2.     Error in generating the View maintenance for field length > 255.
    Actually, I want to create fields with
    1.     data type = char(255),
    2.     data type = text
    3.     data type = char(3000)
    It is okay if I create the field with the selected size, however, when I generate the View maintenance (which can be access through SM30); it does not allow me to do so. It still not working if I change it into string. How can I create such table and use the table maintenance, as well as using that as the reference type of an internal table for another program?
    Regards,
    Mandy Au

    Hello,
    1st of all a table which has a field of type string can be converted in to table maintenance because TM does not support string type as it becomes a very big field to be displayed on screen ... so u need to change that.
    and then about the CHAR of length 3000 is too big ... to have a max limit of 255.
    If you change this both u will be able to generate TM.
    Incase after changing the field length it it gives error in activatin your table then go to SE14 put your table name EDIT and then Adjust n activate it....
    hope this was helpful

  • Generate Serializable data types with WSDLC

    Hello everyone,
    I'll was pretending to send a through a JMS ObjectMessage a type generated from WSDL with the wsdlc ant task. Unfortunately the generated types are not serializable and so I'm unable to send the message. It's really ackward to manualy change all of them so I would like to know if it's possible to instruct wsdlc to generate serializable data types. I'm using Weblogic 11gR1PS1. If it's not possible what do you recommend ?
    Currently the tasks are configured like this:

    <wsdlc srcWsdl="ejbModule/META-INF/wsdl/DataCatalog.wsdl" destJwsDir="gen" destImplDir="gen" packageName="br.com.allwayx.schema" type="JAXWS">
    Obs: I noticed that If I use a binding element inside the task passing any xjb file the wsdlc task generates a pair of Entity interface - EntityImpl implementation class. It stays like this:
    <wsdlc srcWsdl="ejbModule/META-INF/wsdl/DataCatalog.wsdl" destJwsDir="gen" destImplDir="gen" packageName="br.com.allwayx.schema" type="JAXWS">
                   <binding dir="${binding.declaration.dir}" includes="${binding.declaration.file}" />
    </wsdlc>
    Still I would like to keep the old way, without the binding element which generates just a concrete class for each element. Maybe this is a bug?
    Thank you !

    Hi Lupan,
    Currently I believe there is no way to instruct WSDLC task to generate the Serializable data types.
    There was already a BUG opened with BEA for WLS -9.0 following are the BUG details:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs100/issues/known_resolved.html
    CR228385
    Description:
    The Web Service Description Language (WSDL) compiler does not generate serializable data types, so data cannot be passed to remote EJBs or stored in a JMS destination.
    You should contact the Oracle Weblogic Support to get the current status of the BUG.
    Thanks,

  • Core data: Versioned model migration with change in existing attribute data types.

    Hi ,
    I want to upgrade my ios app with app store version with enhancement of new functionality related to core data features in the app.
    -In new upgarde version, I want to change data types of attribute which is already present in core data model of existing app store version.
    e.g.In Version 1.0 ,Attribute "date" datatype is "NSDate", New change required to change  datatype "NSDate" to "NSString" with new version model.
    I followed Lightwaight migration, but as per documentation , Lightwaigh migration not support for change data type of any existing attribute/entity of core data model.
    Please suggest optimized solution for migration of database along with change in data type of exsiting attribute of the entity in core data.
    If required in further info ,please ask.
    Thanks in advances.
    Regards,
    Laxmikant

    More Info: The two entries are actually pointing to the same object. If I save the context and restart, I only have one entry (I can also see this by looking at the XML store).
    It seems that the NSTableView is getting messed up somehow after the FetchRequest. Still stumped.
