Problem with cmd.exe /C SET

Hi:
I am trying to set environment variables for an exe file in a Java program.
I am thinking to do:
Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
Process proc = rt.exec(cmd.exe /C set FILEDIR=c:\temp);
But, I tried cmd.exe /C set FILEDIR=c:\temp on my xp machine dos window and in the java code. The FILEDIR is null.
Does someone have any idea what went wrong? Anyother better ways to set environment variables in java codes?

cmd.exe opens a new command process. The set command will only be effective in this particular process. As soon as the process closes (which will be immediately the set command completes) the value of FILEDIR will be lost.
You can see this by doing cmd /K set FILEDIR=c:\temp. This will leave the command process open and you see what the value of FILEDIR is.

I have a problem with ( AppleSyncNotifier.exe - Entry Point Not Found ) The procedure entry point sqlite3_wal_checkpoint could not be locate in the dynamic link library SWLite3.dll.

With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.
Copy the SQLite3.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.
Reboot and see if all is well
In case that your OS is Windows 7 (64 bit)
1. Open windows explorer, go to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
2. Copy file "SQLite3.dll"
3. Open new windows explorer, to to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
4. Paste file "SQLite3.dll" to the location.
5. Reboot your computer, it should not display that message, it should be clear.

Problem with explorer.exe when LR starts

When starting LR (V1.0) the task manager reports that explorer.exe is eating up about 50% of my CPU. Closing LR does not have an effect. Only a re-start clears it up. This is now the second time I have installed LR as there was a conflict the first time I upgraded from the beta 4 version. I have searched through many of the same folders that my LR library uses with Bridge and Windows explorer and there was no problem with explorer.exe. Only upon starting LR does the problem occur. Any advice much appreciated. Thank you!

Problem with PadExe.exe message occurs at the boot-up

On booting up, which takes anything up to 30 minutes and more, I receive a message that there is a problem with PadExe.exe
It seems that padhook.dll is the problem. Putting PadExe or PadExe.exe into the search facility on the Toshiba site reveals no answer.
Does anyone know how I can resolve this problem? The slow boot up I can live with (just don't switch off!)

I see only one way to solve such error messages. Try to remove this software from the OS and after clean removing and booting you should install it again.

Problem with searchsettings.exe (Mozilla Malware)?

For several days I have had a screen that comes up on boot-up that says basically there is a problem with SearchSettings.exe and it will not start. I did some research and see that it is part of an iObit toolbar system and is basically malware. I found a fix online, but it didn't work so I had to restore. I think my registry cleaner might have remove part of it but I can't find out how to get rid of this annoyance.

It was part of a toolbar and probably the registry cleaner deleted the uninstall files for the toolbar.

Problems with POP email accounts set up on iPad air why can't I send emails?

I have an Ipad Air and am having problems with POP email account set up.
I can receive emails however I cannot reply or create a new email and send it.
Is there something I need to fix in Outgoing settings? these are the same as on my MacPro using same ISP provider Optus the only difference is that the Ipad has a prepaid sim card - however still with Optus.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

CS4 Problem with Acrobatinfo.exe

I'm having a really obnoxious problem with CS4 (as far as I can tell, every part of it, tested with InDesign, Acrobat, Illustrator and Photoshop).
Every time I open an Adobe application and every 30 second to 3 minutes thereafter, my system hangs for a few seconds, with stuttering screen updates and then the whole screen flickers with a greenish tinge and then goes back to normal.
I've managed to track down the problem to the process Acrobatinfo.exe. Once I started watching the tack manager, I noticed that, without fail, each hang and flicker was preceeded by about 15 seconds of Acrobatinfo.exe starting, sitting around and then peaking at 50% CPU (all of one core/processor I imagine). Shortly after that, the process closes and everything is good again for another few minutes.
System is Windows XP, SP3. 2GB of RAM (and this happens even if nothign else is running). All windows and video card drivers are completely up to date.
Is anyone else having this problem? Any ideas on how to solve it?

After over 10 hours of pain, I've finally solved this problem. It was the Adobe Improvement Program.
I discovered this after noticing that none of the other accounts on this computer had the problem I was having, so after hours of painfully rebuilding my profile from scratch and testing as I went, Acrobat asked if I'd like to join the program.
The second I signed up the same flickering and hangs started up again, and as soon as I said "no !@#$@#!$ thank you" it fixed the problem.
Apparently declining to join the program just on Acrobat set a global setting, as none of the other CS4 apps exhibited any slowdowns after that.
I am livid at the time I wasted tracking down this ridiculous bug, and hopefully this provides some help to others who experience similar problems.

Interacting with cmd.exe

i dunno if this has been asked before, but my problem is to let the user interact with an executable ran via "cmd.exe /c executable".
i have an executable program that awaits a response from the user, but when i used the Streams provided by java.lang.Process after many scenarios i noticed that the process inputStream provides me with the output only when the program is finished, while it returns no text while the program is waiting for response
as an example, my problem looks like :

that's right, i tried to look for classes that provide "live streams" in java.io ... i thought the PipedReader and PipedWriter could do it, but i need to get the program's reader and writer for this (and i don't know how to do that...) or maybe those classes are unnecessary and there is another way to do it?

Stuck On Runtime.exec() with cmd.exe

I've done my best to look through the forums and implement what's been said but I'm getting a problem where my whole Java program freezes when the exec() is executed. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing or have misunderstood ?

Problems using cmd.exe in a script

What I'm trying to do is this. I have this program called
zoomify.exe on the server. (check out zoomify.com, its a cool image
magnification program). What I want to do is run a command like
this in cmd.exe:
D:\zoomify.exe D:\temp\image.jpg
If I was to run this inthe command prompt window on the
server it would create a folder within D:\temp named "Image" with
all the output files from the zoomify.exe. The program also works
so that if you drag and drop an image onto the exe in windows
explorer it does the same thing.
So I have this custom tag cfx_exec on the server and I have
it pull up a command prompt, enter in the parameters including
chr(13) and chr(10) to simulate hitting enter and then I throw
"Exit" at it as well to close the command prompt window. It acts as
though it runs no problem but it never actually creates the new
folder and image collection.
I know it is not a permission thing, coldfusion is run under
the domain administrator account and has full permission to execute
things like this. For example I use the same custom tag to run NET
USER commands to change active directory passwords and things of
this nature.
Can anyone suggest what I may be doing wrong here?

Figured it out...it was in the syntax...had to use single quotes around table and field names. Don't use Access much...Live and Learn Baby!

Having problem with svchost.exe/ntdll.dll errors causing GPSVC (Group Policy Client) to crash preventing users from logging into the server.

Recently (within the past 2 weeks) I have noticed a few of our servers will have problems with the svchost.exe application causing the GPSVC (Group Policy Client) to crash. The only fix at that point is to reboot the server since the GPSVC service is tied
to svchost.exe and therefore is protected from being manually restarted.

All of our servers are running Server 2008 R2 Enterprise where we use Citrix to deliver desktop sessions to our users, but some are virtual and some are physical. This seemingly impacts our virtual machines more, and our VMs are hosted through VMWare, however,

I've searched and cannot seem to find any information as to what may be causing this, or even really where to start. Would someone be able to help me identify what might be causing this event, specific with the Exception code: 0xc0000024, which causes
the Group Policy Client service to stop?

You still out there looking at things? If so I have an update. The issue hasn't stopped, even though it did seemingly die down for awhile, however, it is now back with a vengeance.
I am able to force it to happen by killing the svchost process that is hosting GPSVC. If I run gpupdate /force, then logout/login it does get GPSVC running again. Furthermore, if I simply start svchost again via the Task Manager GPSVC starts running again.
When I access the server remotely with KVM it acts just like it does as if I'm logging into it via Citrix/RDP which for Admin IDs gives an error saying "Failed to connect to a windows service. Windows could not connect to the Group Policy Client service...",
however, normal user accounts just get a message when logging into the server "The Group Policy Client Service Failed the Logon. Access is denied."
I haven't opened a case with Microsoft yet, but we about ready to because of the increase in these errors.
If you have any further suggestions that would be great, otherwise I'll provide an update once I get word back from Microsoft.
**EDIT -- apparently I mistook the the server's SCM's actions as my own. I was able to successfully crash the GPSVC service by killing the hosting svchost process, however, after I crashed it and let it sit crashed for awhile when I attempted
to restart either by starting a svchost task, or running gpupdate /force it failed. Either that, or there is a timing issue where if we don't restart the svchost process, or run gpupdate /force quickly enough it won't be able to recover without a reboot.

Problem with WAN n Bluetooth Setting.Help!!!

Well you are facing this problem due to some kind of Interference between your Wireless Connectiona and your Computer,thats why you loss the signal strength on your Computer.
First try to upgrade the drivers of your wireless Card on your Computer.
Login to the Routers GUI, For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
Click on the Wireless tab...
- Set the Radio Band to Standard-20MHz and change the Standard channel to 11-2.462GHz...and then click on Save Settings...
Click on Advanced Wireless Settings
Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...

Execution problem with java.exe

Hi everybody. I am a student in a belgian university, and i've got a problem with the execution of my binaries in the JVM.
I'm developping my project with Eclipse. When I build the project, Eclipse launch perfectly my application with javaw.exe (I supposed it because it's written in the console when I run the project).
Thus, I wanted to try to launch my application by myself, to check if everything is right...
My project is composed like this :
- creavea/src : the sources of my project (a package called "main" , and a package "com.creavea. ..." and other .jar files like a MySQLConnector/J, edtFTPj, the JOutlookBar by lf2prod, ...
- creavea/bin : Eclipse puts the binaries there, when I run my project.
- creavea/files : Somes files like configuration files for my application, etc ...
- creavea/images : Images for my interface.
- the main class, containing the pubilc static void main method, is called CreaGesta, and is in the "main" package.
creavea is the name of my project, but i think you supposed it !
I want to run the binaries, then i do this :
- I open a ms-dos console
- I'm going in the C:\eclipse\workspace\creavea\bin folder
- I execute the command : java main.CreaGesta ...
And it doesn't work :'( ! An error appears :
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError : com/lf2prod/common/swing/JOutlookBar.
This class, JOutlookBar is used by my application, and the jar file containing the class is in my /bin folder. I can't understand, i'm a little bit disapointed.
It's my first big project in Java, then i don't really understand what's happening. So if someone can help me, it will be really nice for me ! Thanks a lot for your help !

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError : main/CreaGestaOh, it changed ! but I don't understand the problem . What does it mean? "Java cannot find the class main/CreaGesta", or "An error occured in main.CreaGesta" ?
Can somebody help me to solve this new error ? Thank you !
