java.sql.Connection conn= java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:asiafinity");
java.sql.Statement stmt=conn.createStatement();
/* If i print a value from the previous pages its showing but its not going to the database with query statement..
// String str1=request.getParameter("religion");
// System.out.println(str1);
/* If i hardcode the corresponding columun data its querrying the data
String str1="hindu";
String sqlquery="select * from userprofile where religion='"+str1+"'";
System.out.println(str1);
java.sql.ResultSet cols=stmt.executeQuery(sqlquery);
     while(cols.next()){
String gen=cols.getString("gender");
String age=cols.getString("age");
String rel=cols.getString("religion");
String cul=cols.getString("culture");
String loc=cols.getString("location");

    Hi.
    I`ve downloaded the Virtual Private Database using JSP's example from the Oracle9iAS Security - Sample Corner (http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/deploy/security/9i_security.html)
    I ran the SQL script just fine. Ive Opened the JDeveloper Flile (security.jws) and tried to Make it (following step 2 on "Run the Application using JDeveloper Environmentinstructions" in the README ) but i get this error:

    What can i do?.

    Hi,
    the problem seems not to be within your application but in missing files on your embedded OC4J. Just try and unzip the JDeveloper 10.1.3 install again.

    Create database link zdalny
    Connect to <user_id> identified by <password>
    using ‘CT’;
    Client can’t connect with server when I am using above command. But when I change “using” for using ‘krzysztof:1521’ or using ‘krzysztof’ or using ‘server IP:1521’ – everything is ok.
    Why I am asking. Because in all materials which I am reading about Oracle command with using ‘CT’ should be working correct. But there is not. Do you know, why?

    PS. I tried with using 'XE' - not working.Assuming that is the correct tnsnames, of course XE is not working. You don't have a tnsnames entry for 'XE'.
    You need to be aware that when using a dblink, the client is the db in which the link is defined, not the desktop from which you connect to that database.
    I think you need to start here:
    http://edstevensdba.wordpress.com/2011/02/26/ora-12154tns-03505/
    http://edstevensdba.wordpress.com/2011/02/09/sqlnet_overview/ (Help! I can’t connect to my database )
    http://edstevensdba.wordpress.com/2011/02/16/sqlnet_client_cfg/ (Help! I can’t connect to my database (part duex) )
    The fact that your client (db link) is a database doesn't change anything taught in the above.

    Hello everyone,

    Using the ref-customer to copy from, and some personal-data below, we get the error message

    We also tried with BAPI_CUSTOMER_GETINTNUMBER, and ACCOUNTGROUP ZINT (New Internet Customer, others won't work?). But CREATEFROMDATA1 takes no CustomerNo created this way, nor it wants to create one 'internal'?

    Hello Brian,
    Thanks for your pointer. Actually The customer's reference number i was providing in the PI_COPYREFERENCE structure was a sold-to party customer and it uses external customer number assignment. When i used "New Internet Customer" (that doesnt use external assignment by default) as customer's account group, the customer was created successfully and assigned customer number was returned.
    I want to ask now how could we give a customer number in the BAPI as i am unable to find any such column in any of the tables. (Customer number is an "out" parameter so it can only return the number of created customer). Secondly, how to chnage the external assignment property of a particular account group (like sold-to party). i.e, how could we change the account group configurations through SAP GUI??

  • Problem with database control returning multiple rows as Array  using Oracle

    Has anybody using Oracle gotten a Database control that
    returns multiple rows to work returning an array?
    The only way I can seem to return multiple rows is by returning
    a RowSet. Returning an array gives me a NullPointerException
    (when called within a pageFlow). When calling a database control
    that returns an array from a web service I get a
    "java.sql.SQLException: ResultSet has no more data." error.
    The samples using the pointbase database seem to work, but when I

    failing on calling the database control that returns an array
    with: "java.sql.SQLException: ResultSet has no more data."
    Has anybody gotten this to work using Oracle?

    to work when called from a web service, but returns nothing
    if called from a page flow.
    I'm using Oracle 8.1.7 and WebLogic 8.1.

    Do you need a particular service pack installed to return an array of custom object?

    Unfortunately, returning an Iterator to a JPF (or JSP) from a
    database control is broken in WLW 8.1, though it will work inside of
    a
    JWS or JCS.
    There shouldn't be a problem with returning an array of objects out
    of Oracle to the JPF, and if you need an Iterator specifically, youcan
    wrap the array in an Iterator implementation.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    It is really frustrating because I can't use much of the built-in control
    logic
    that WLW provides. All I did was create a data pool for Oracle and a
    datasource.
    I modified the sample app in C:\bea81\weblogic81\samples\workshop\SamplesApp\WebApp\callJavaControl
    to point to that datasource and I get the error that Eric reports above.

  • Problem with Database Initialization when using Configuration Manager (ubuntu-jboss-mysql)

    Hello,
    When I try to initialize the database using Configuration Manager, the following error occurs:
    ALC-TTN-002-001: JDBC datasource lookup failed for resource reference [java:comp/env/jdbc/
    IdpDs]. The most likely cause is that a datasource having a JNDI
    name of [IDP_DS] does not exist or is misconfigured. Check the application
    server's configuration.
    I DO have an IDP_DS datasource configured in jboss. I carefully followed the Jboss configuration instructions, so I don't really understand which is the issue here.
    Anyone encountered a similar problem? Any help?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Artur

    Data source files have to end with ds.xml and should be copied to the /deploy folder of your JBoss configuration (all) for them to be picked up by JBoss.
    If the file was edited in Windows, make sure it does not contain DOS characters. Ubuntu Linux is not a supported LiveCycle OS platform currently. Only Red Hat Enterprise and SUSE Enterprise are.

    This usually implies the JSP application cannot connect to the database listed in your runtime configuration setting of your BIDesigner.
    In the BIDesigner check to see how the runtime connection is configured. There are two options:
    a) Use design settings - this will use the local catalog in your JDev project
    b) you can create a specify a BIDesigner connection and a corresponding BI Catalog connection
    If you are using option (b) then make sure your presentation is copied to the BI Catalog. Then test all the connections including the catalog connection listed on the runtime settings tab of the BIDesigner.

  • Having a problem with creating/using a primary key on a view

    I have a problem with a primary key on a view
    I created the view and primary key as follows:
    CREATE OR REPLACE FORCE VIEW "MDD"."ROCK_LU" ("DESCRIPTION",
         UNIQUE ("DESCRIPTION") RELY DISABLE,
         CONSTRAINT "ROCK_LU_PK" PRIMARY KEY ("DESCRIPTION") RELY DISABLE) AS
    SELECT DESCRIPTION
    FROM MRMC_LU
    WHERE ROCK = 'T';
    The view with the primary key appears to have been created as there were no error messages. (The above was from the sql tab in sql developer.)
    When I try to create the foreign key on my mdd_hr table - I get an error
    /* hr_name - foreign key */
    ALTER TABLE mdd_hr add CONSTRAINT hr_name_fk FOREIGN KEY (hr_name) REFERENCES rock_lu(description);
    Error report:
    SQL Error: ORA-02270: no matching unique or primary key for this column-list.
    When I lookup the index in sql developer, rock_lu_pk is not there.
    All my other foreign keys work - but I don't understand what I am doing wrong with this one. Please help.
    glenn
    Background - as to why I want to use a view as a lookup table.
    The MRMC_LU table that the view is created from is structured like:
    DESCRIPTION - MINERAL - ROCK - MODIFIER - COMMODITY
    ANHYDRITE - T - T - T
    APLITE - T - - T
    GRAPHITE - T - - - T
    GREYWACKE - - T
    DESCRIPTION is a list of all names of minerals, rocks, modifiers and commodities. T is entered in each valid field. Often a description name is used for both a mineral and a rock or a mineral and a commodity or any other combination. Because this database is just starting up, it was more efficient to create one table that could be updated (and thereby automatically update the MINERAL_LU, ROCK_LU, MODIFIER_LY, COMMODITY_LU views) rather than create and maintain four separate but similar tables. A primary key cannot be generated for the MRMC_LU table as there are nulls in each column
    except DESCRIPTION.
    Perhaps there is a smarter way to do this?

    http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96540/statements_85a.htm#2065512
    You can specify constraints on views and object views. You define the constraint at the view level using the out_of_line_constraint clause. You define the constraint as part of column or attribute specification using the inline_constraint clause after the appropriate alias.
    Oracle does not enforce view constraints. However, operations on views are subject to the integrity constraints defined on the underlying base tables. This means that you can enforce constraints on views through constraints on base tables.
    Restrictions on View Constraints
    View constraints are a subset of table constraints and are subject to the following restrictions:
    You can specify only unique, primary key, and foreign key constraints on views. However, you can define the view using the WITH CHECK OPTION clause, which is equivalent to specifying a check constraint for the view.
    Because view constraints are not enforced directly, you cannot specify INITIALLY DEFERRED or DEFERRABLE.
    View constraints are supported only in DISABLE NOVALIDATE mode. You must specify the keywords DISABLE NOVALIDATE when you declare the view constraint, and you cannot specify any other mode.
    You cannot specify the using_index_clause, the exceptions_clause clause, or the ON DELETE clause of the references_clause.
    You cannot define view constraints on attributes of an object column.

  • Problem with Sessions in JSP

    Hi,
    I am working on a JSP based website, where I am facing problem with sessions. The user is asked to login by providing her id and password. If found correct, a bean is created and populated with all her details and placed in session scope. I plan to use the information stored in the bean on other related pages until she logs out.
    <jsp:useBean id="validUser" scope="session" class="UserBean" >
    <c:set target="${validUser}" property="userId" value="${fn:trim(dbValues.UserId)}" />
    <c:set target="${validUser}" property="userName" value="${fn:trim(dbValues.UserName)}" />
    </jsp:useBean>
    <c:redirect url="userHome.jsp" /> The user is presented her homepage - 'userHome.jsp', where she can find various links, like 'Update Profile', 'Pay Registration Fees', 'Book Room' etc. The information stored in the bean is available on 'userHome.jsp'page.
    <A HREF='userHome.jsp'>Home</A>
    <A HREF='editPersonal.jsp'>Update Profile</A>
    <A HREF='registrationFee.jsp'>Pay Registration Fees</A>
    <A HREF='bookRoom.jsp'>Book Room</A>
    <A HREF='logout.jsp'>Logout</A> The problems are:
    1. Whenever user clicks on any of the above mentioned links and moves to any page, the bean comes out as null.
    <%-- Verify that the user is logged in --%>
    <c:if test="${validUser == null}">
    <jsp:forward page="loginForm.jsp">
    <jsp:param name="origURL" value="${pageContext.request.requestURL}" />
    <jsp:param name="errorMsg" value="You must be logged in to access this site." />
    </jsp:forward>
    </c:if> 2. The URL shows an additional jsessionid, which my client doesn't want to see.
    3. On every click on any link, the value of this jsessionid changes.
    What I presume, when I am clicking on different links, my session changes, and so I am seeing a different jsessionid. And since session is changing, therefore the bean is not available in a different session.
    All this works fine with localhost, problem comes into picture, when I upload my pages to the server.
    Puzzled, can anyone help, where am I going wrong? Let me add here, I am new to JSP and hence don't have much resources with me.

    There are several ways sessions can be exchanged between the browser and the server in a j2ee web application.
    1. The default is through cookies. However when the client does not accept cookies, the server appends the session id to the url.
    2. Some servers also facilitate session information exchange using session id in the url even if the client does accept cookies. This is usually ahieved through a setting in some server configuration file.
    You will have to find out why the server in your application is appending the session id to the url.
    Whatever be the case, the server should be able to look up the session from the incoming request (be it from the session id in the url or a session cookie).
    When session information is exchanged through the JSESSIONID in the url, you should ensure that each and every url that goes to the server has this input parameter. To do that all links and form post urls in your servlet/jsp should be treated with a call to encodeURL().
    For example, in a jsp
       <a href = "<%=response.encodeURL("/nextJsp.jsp")%>">Click here </a>
    or
       <form action = "<%=response.encodeURL("/nextJsp.jsp")%>">
       </form>etc.
    ram.
