Thanks Tim for the info, and thank you all too.
The issue here is not only if Essbase is fully supported or not by the new java version (or the other way around).  A patch later on will solve the compatibility problem.
But the major problems here are two:
1. Oracle publishes java versions prematurely without warning the public for the compatibility issues, or at least to say that "we haven't checked everything yet".
2. The end users get pop ups (unless disabled) that their (older) java version is not secure anymore. That scares the users and drives them to update their JRE or JDK prematurely without telling that to anyone.
Cheers
George

  • Problems with Java web start

    Hi All,
I am facing a problem with Java Web Start. Which is the most appropriate version of JDK recommended for SAP XI? I tried
    JDK 1.4.2_04
    JDK 1.4.2_09
    JDK1.4.2_11
    JDK1.5.0_01
When I click on Integration repository or Directory for the first time, it loads the jar files and while loading, I get an error msg "Unable to launch Integration Builder". After a lot of retries I get sucess. But still we are facing this issue in some machines. Can you pls let me know if there is any pre configuration or some thing I am missing...
    Regards,
    Jai Shankar

Did you check the proxy settings in JAVA Web start. Please follow the below instructions.
This could be set to None or to specific for values HTTP Proxy and HTTP Port .
Contact your network administrator for the correct settings.
    To change the Proxy Settings:
Select Windows Start menu -> All Programs -> Java Web Start -> Java Web Start
Choose File -> Preferences -> General
Choose None to switch off the proxy settings or Manual to set the HTTP Proxy and HTTP Port.
    ChooseOK
    Close Java™ Webstart

  • Problems with Solaris Web Console on Solaris 10 x86

    I recently installed Solaris 10 x86 (10/08 release) on a Sun x4450.
I have installed the Jan 14, 2009 patch cluster.
I was having some problems connecting to the Web Console to do some ZFS administration. That's when I installed the patch cluster.
After the patch cluster install I couldn't connect at all. This problem was resolved here: http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5249136
Now when I login to the Web Console I get a message that says:
"+No application is registered with this Sun Java(TM) Web Console, or you have no rights to use any applications that are registered. See your system administrator for assistance.+"
I'm logging in as root, so it shouldn't be a rights issue.

Quick Solution to the problem you are facing
How to configure ZFS Webconsole Administration
    run this command
    wcadmin deploy -a zfs -z zfs /usr/share/webconsole/webapps/zfs
you should be able to see & Manage ZFS in Applications area of webconsole.
    Enjoy ! Cheers

  • RSRT1 problem with JAVA WEB

    Hello Gurus,
I have serious problem with my Java stack (or BI configuration). I have sample report which I have tested with transaction rsrt1. When I choose [Abap WEB] button - web page opens showing table filled with data. When I choose [Java WEB] button - web page opens with message "no applicable data found". What's wrong?
I'm wainting for your hints, because I have no idea what and where I did wrong.
    Regs,
    FS

    Hello,
you have to redo your report. Try to design very simple one, without any filters, many fields etc. It worked for me ... then I extended it step by step and it works.

  • More problems with Java Web Start

In my quest for running a simple JClient as a Java Web Start, I encountered another roadblock.
The JClient program runs fine when run on its own, but it fails when it runs from Java Web Start, and the stack trace says that the Application Module failed to get an instance because it couldn't find the following class (complete stack trace at bottom): javax/servlet/http/HttpSessionContext
(Now, isn't that a deprecated class?) I feel like I'm plagued with all kind of errors lately. Anyone knows what am I doing wrong?
    Thanks,

  • Problem with java web app

    Hi...
I have mounted my java application on a server.
    I use tomcat/mysql...
Initially it seems all things good, ...but if i try to enter my application the day after (for example), she seems not to query the db.
    I'm new to java programming.
    Please help me,
    andrea
ps. My application consist in a servlet how manage the request,...and in a class how manage the db....

    Hi duffymo,
you're all rigth, now I'll try to explain me better.
I can query my db on my server, and the application start with all the parameters ok.
No errors were report from Tomcat log files,....
..but now i'm suspiciose about connnection with the db...
I have created only one object of the class which manage the db connection, and i ahve putted it in the applicaton context, so it's accessble from all of the servlets,...but now, i have read all the code which another person has written and I saw he make a "autoCommit=false" connection type....
now,...I think this is the problem. After mySql timeout expire, my application "think" to be connected yet, isn't it?
Ti's possible add in the string of driver loader "autoReconnect=true" and set autoCommit = false and change in = true only we need to do a transaction, and turn back to = false when we will finish the transaction ?
    Tahnk you
    andrea

  • Problem with java web start

I don't know why if I put in my url of my remote application for example
: "http://localhost:8080/manipulationAS400/manipulationAS400Launcher.html" I have my application but if I replace localhost in my url by the name of my PC, I don't know to have my application.
I hope that someone I understand my problem.
    Thanks in advance.

Is your machine name DNS registered?
Try with your IP address instead of name. If this works then it is probably a DNS problem.

  • Problems with java j2re using mozilla

    Hi,
i'm using j2re1.4.2_05 plugin for mozilla in linux (Fedora Core 2). My internet access goes throught a router (SMC Networks ISDN Barricade SMC7301TA). It's settings can be edited throught a web browser LAN connection. And here the problems begin. On routers settings page a java output console (for error and other messages) is running, which doesn't work, despite java applications on other web pages work well (I tested it on sun's java test page and it's working properly). Java console exits the following errorr message:
    >
    load: class DynamicTable.class not found.
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: DynamicTable.class

Is there a way to fix this problem? Cause without the command output it's mearly unpossible to configure the router.

Yes i can make changes. Not everything is realised with java, just the output console, which reports if the changes i made succeded, prints out logs, gives additional info about some settings etc. So, i can make changes, but i have no response, for example: everytime i save something i don't know if the save was succesful. I can't take a look at IP routing table and DHCP configuration...
On windows xp, using internet explorer (the default version for xp) everything works perfect. But mozilla for windows has also problems with java. I know i can still change settings on wins, but right now i'm having some problems with networking on linux and i have to set things up in it (besides i use wins only because of school purposes).

  • How do I change the default certificate in Java Web Console?

I have a 3rd party issued server keystore & truststore ready to go in both jks and p12 file formats. I wish to use this in the Sun Java Web Console instead of the self signed certificate. I cannot find any documentation as to changing the certificate. I did find commands to change the keystore and truststore passwords, but I want to change the entire certificate.
I tried manually messing with the /var/webconsole/domains/console/conf/server.xml configuration file but realized it was more complex than that. Is there a documented procedure for changing the default certifcate?
    Thanks

Siri will use the default calendar specified in the Mail, Contacts, Calendars setting.
Go to Settings/Mail,Contacts,Calendars, then scroll down, and change the default in the Calendars section to your the one you prefer.
    hope this helps.

  • I have a problem with Java and an e-procurement system integrating

I use an e-procurement system at work and yesterday I could not get my parts list from the suppliers web site to display in our in-house eprocurment finance package.
There is not a problem with the finance package. There is not a problem with the suppliers web site. I have verified both of these by other colleagues being able to complete what I am trying to do.
The difference between my version of Firefox and my colleagues' is that I am on version 6.0.1 and they are on 6.0.
I have had problems with Java not displaying certain animations on the suppliers web site but, my colleague does not and I am suspicious that this is the problem. Can anyone verify this please and what can I do about it. My Java updates are up-to-date as of yesterday and are automatic.
    Thanks.

I was quite amazed I never got a reply to this, in the past people here have been helpful. In any case I was finally able to enter this website on the exceptions list in the Java panel, and I believe it is okay  now.
