I now cannot access the Sun web console server through a browser over port 6789. Before the installation of the Sun Management Center 4.0 it worked.
System Overview:

Sun Java Web Console certificate based authentication ?
I'd like the Web Console to authenticate users thanks to their (x509) certificate. The certificate would be stored on the client side,
in the browser's certificate store.
I read that the console could use PAM, but the only PAM pkcs#11 module I found requires a smart card reader on the console host,
while I'd like to be able to use the user's certificate in the browser, thus possibly on a remote host.
Any idea ?Make sure JAVA_HOME is set (+echo $JAVA_HOME+)
BTW, Sun Java Web Console is not the same thing as Sun Management Center -

Hi all,
I have published the info path which will reterieve the current user using the getuserprofilebyname service. The service gets the current user when the form is opened in the info path filler after publishing. It shows the below error when I try to open the
form in browser mode(I have changed the settings in the form -> AdvancedSettigns -> Open in browser). My form is browser enabled form.
There has been an error while processing the form.

Weird thing is that I did not get this error on day1. On day 1 it was working fine. I am able to connect to the web service and get data. On day 2 when i tried open the form I got this error.
We have 4 WFE , So I hope it is not due to loopbackcheck security feature.
I checked in the central admin whether it is claim based web app or not. Its is not claim based web app.
So any one guide me to get ride of this error.
Thanks,
Vaishali.
Vaishali SankarHi Vaishali,
Please ensure the user encountered this issue has enough permission to access (or update) the data source you added to the InfoPath form.
If you suspect the issue is caused by loopbackcheck security feature, then you could try to disable the
DisableLoopbackCheck follow this KB on all SharePoint servers. And check if problem persists after reboot servers:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896861 .
In addition, is there load balancer deployed in your environment which might bring double-hop authentication? This might cause the issue happens intermittently. If so, you could manually add entries in host files. For your reference:

How do I change the default certificate in Java Web Console?
I have a 3rd party issued server keystore & truststore ready to go in both jks and p12 file formats. I wish to use this in the Sun Java Web Console instead of the self signed certificate. I cannot find any documentation as to changing the certificate. I did find commands to change the keystore and truststore passwords, but I want to change the entire certificate.
I tried manually messing with the /var/webconsole/domains/console/conf/server.xml configuration file but realized it was more complex than that. Is there a documented procedure for changing the default certifcate?
ThanksSiri will use the default calendar specified in the Mail, Contacts, Calendars setting.
Go to Settings/Mail,Contacts,Calendars, then scroll down, and change the default in the Calendars section to your the one you prefer.
hope this helps. -

Sun Java Web Server 7 and JNDI Jell
Hi all,
I am building a normal Java EE web app (WAR file), and I was originally developing on GlassFish v2.1 and everything was beautiful. Now, I found out our shared server is Sun Java Web Server 7, but the sys admin said everything should run fine as long as I wasn't using JSB's.
I downloaded and installed SJWS7 on my local machine so I could test my application against it, and JPA and SJWS7 are not getting along.
I am trying to bind my persistence.xml to the data source I created on SJWS7.

....There is nothing in sun-web.xml or web.xml that references this resource (although I tried that too, and no go).

Regards,
SomendraFirst of all, is there a reason why you are using jRockit?
Since the issue appeared after upgrading the windows, the issue would potentially be in the interaction between JVM and OS.
Also, there were some issues related to memory leak that were fixed in AS 8.2.
May be you should try with a Sun JVM and AS 8.2. -
I am running Sun Java Web Server 6.1 SP5 on a locked down Solaris 8 system. I am seeing a PrivilegedActionException, which encloses a FileIOException, when the code tries to initialize SSL (more specifically, reading the keystore file) to make a web service call. However, when I log in as the user that the web server is running as (iplanet), and I cut-n-paste the offending path from the error log to the ls command, I can see the file, verify that everyone has read permissions, and can even open the file via keytool sucessfully. Can someone point me towards what I am overlooking? I'm out of ideas; I can't see why I should be able to read the keystore file as the user, but the web application, running as the same user, can't.
I apoligize for not pasting the exact error here. The system in question is not connected to the Internet.
Thanks,
DaveI take it you have enabled the Java SecurityManager? That is rarely recommended, what's the end goal that led to that?
Hopefully you can find a way to copy at least the most relevant parts (at least the last few most specific stack traces for each enclosing exception) of the error message, otherwise it is difficult to try to guess without data.
Is the code trying to read or write to the file? Have you modified the default permissions?
truss the process to see if the error is at that level or at the security manager level. -

The issue here is not only if Essbase is fully supported or not by the new java version (or the other way around). A patch later on will solve the compatibility problem.
But the major problems here are two:
1. Oracle publishes java versions prematurely without warning the public for the compatibility issues, or at least to say that "we haven't checked everything yet".
2. The end users get pop ups (unless disabled) that their (older) java version is not secure anymore. That scares the users and drives them to update their JRE or JDK prematurely without telling that to anyone.
Cheers

Hi Guys,
I am having problem installing StorADE 2.4 in Oracle Java Web Console 3.1 with CAM 6.6.
I am sure I have seen them together in Web Console but doesn't seems to be working... I am getting all sort of javv exception errors...
Also the installation of StorADE wasn't trivial, I had to create following link for the installation to succeed... and no errors during the installation btw.
- linked /usr/sbin/smcwebserver -> /usr/sadm/bin/smcwebserver
- linked /usr/sbin/smreg -> /usr/sadm/bin/smreg

Install certifcate on sun java web server 7.0
we just moved away from IIS and servlet exec because of issues we are having with the speed. sun java web server was like 4 times faster. we had the web app up and running, but for some reason we couldnt figure out how to install a certificate. i went through the request wizard and got the code and sent it to digicert and got my code for the certificate. i then installed it by pasting it, after i finish i get this error (unknown option 'by'). can someone point me in the right direction.
my only guess so far was i am using *.domain.com in the domain field, when you request the certificate.I can't see anything wrong with the steps you followed to install the certificate. Are you using Web Server 7.0 or Web Server 7.0 update 1? As far as I remember, in Web Server 7.0, wildcard characters like * were not allowed in the "Server Name(cn)" field of request certificate wizard. This got fixed in 7.0 update1 release.
Can you post you server logs so that we can figure out what is wrong? You can as well try certutil command as been suggested by mv and let us know if you could manage to install the certificate. -
Is Sun Java Web Server 6.1 compatible with RedHat 5.5
Hi,
Sun Java web Server 6.1 installed on Red Hat 5.1 and Opertaing System is going to be upgraded to Red Hat 5.5. Can any one tell me whether Sun Java Web Server 6.1 is compatible with Red Hat Linux 5.5If you want the internal server to service requests for /admin, you should teach the internal server to service requests for /admin.
It is possible -- but complicated -- to configure Web Server 6.1 to rewrite request URIs before proxying requests to the internal server. However, unless you rewrite all the HTML generated by the internal server, the results probably won't be what you want. Consider, for example, what happens if the internal server's HTML references /foo.gif. Does that mean the web browser should ask for /admin/foo.gif or /foo.gif?
Rewriting request URIs is much simpler in Web Server 7.0, but it's still probably not the right tool. -
Unable to start sun java web server 6.1 SP4
Hi,
I have recently installed sun java web server 6.1 SP4 on solaris 10. The directory structure it created was completely different from the one mentioned in the documentation. I could not find the https-adminserv directory under the web server root directory. Instead the closest directory was bin/https/httpadmin/bin directory. On executing ./start it gave an error
ld.so.1: start: fatal: libssl3.so: open failed: No such file or directory
Killed
Any help is welcome. Thanks.
I had not installed the webserver in the standard location /opt/SUNWwbsrvr but in /BCP partition.also, you can do something like
cd https-admserv
sh -x start
this will show as to what is the current LD_LIBRARY_PATH is pointing to and why ssl3.so is not getting loaded.
if you don't see
https-* under web server install root directory, then something wrong with your installation as well.
yes, if u stand alone version of web server, then you shouldn't run into any dependencies issue. u can also get 6.1 sp6 version from web - http://www.sun.com/webserver -
Sun Java Web Server7 admin site doesnt start!!!
Hi,
i have installed Sun Java Web Server7 3 months ago.
yesterday i was trying to look at the site configuration and wanted to start the server-admin interface.
for some reason when i am running the command admin-server/bin/startserv the command end and return to the shell without any output.
i have looked at the error and access logs after defining the error log level to finest and no output there also.
i run netstat and looked at the process and there isnt any service listening on the management port.
can someone please give me direction on debuging this problem.
thanks in advanced
Edited by: mongaron on Mar 19, 2008 10:52 AMHi
What is the version of WebServer you are using. I see admin-server as a service, i guess your version is Web Server 7.0u2 which has SMF support.
During the installation if you have enabled SMF Solaris 10 OS creates SMF service for each instance of Web Server.
Use the stopserv script and try to stop the admin-server and Web Server instances.
Now run the following command svcs | grep admin-server and svcs | grep https. This should not show any services running.
Now start the admin-server using $(Install_dir)/admin-server/bin/startserv and instance using ${install_dir}/<instance-directory>/bin/startserv
Now run the following command svcs | grep admin-server. This should show the following output
online 12:29:07 svc:/network/http:admin-server
online 12:29:07 svc:/network/http:<instance-name>
As you had mentioned in the previous replies it shows online*, which means currently the service in the starting state. Once the service started it will become online.
If there is any problem starting the service, running the command svcs -xv will give the error output why the service went to maintenance. Please try the above and let me know what output you get for the above commands.
