Problem with matchcode in alv for specific field

Hi,
I have created a customer specific data element ZE_CONFTYPE, with a customer specific domain, and in this domain I have defined a value range with 3 possible single values (partial, final, automatic).
Later, I have defined a field: CTYPE type ZE_CONFTYPE, and I'm showing this field in an ALV.
    it_fieldcatalog-fieldname = 'CTYPE'.
    it_fieldcatalog-seltext_m = 'Confirmation Type'.
    it_fieldcatalog-col_pos   = 4.
    it_fieldcatalog-edit = 'X'.
    APPEND it_fieldcatalog.
    CLEAR it_fieldcatalog.
Now I was hoping that a matchcode was going to show up in the ALV with the 3 possible values for this field, but apparently I was wrong. What should I do for this matchcode to show up?

You need to write code in "callback_for_detail" with fm F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST

I have added new fields to data source 0CRM_SRV_PROCESS_H, then changed transfer rules, added characteristics to ODS 0crm_proh, and reactivated update rules 80crm_proh. But now I have problem with second update rules for this cube named 80crm_cnfh. It is not active and all fields in it have red status, error RSAU461, and I cannot activate it.
What I should do? Should I change somehow that second source for data to my cube (change infosource, ods, rule?)

As said by the Mti u have just changed the info objects in the ods and u need to map them with the specific info objects from the ods.
double click on the Update rules of the cube and go to the characteristic tab there map the newly added info objects with the IO in the ods.

Can you pls let me know how is it possible to define read-only authorization access for specific field(s) per responsibility / user on a form in 11.5.9?
For example I want to protect the item master file by assigning for example to users with responsibility buyer authorization to modify the buyer information but to have read-only only authorization on other sensitive fields such as make/buy flag, expense accounts, etc
Through UI Modeller I have only managed to make specific fields on specific forms invisible, or whole tabs invisible, to specific responsibilities but this does not cover my needs as I want them to be able to view the data of the fields but to not be able to update them

Almost but not quite.. The example you've given has the person VO at the top level which includes all the id's (City, State etc). My use case is slightly different.

Our understanding:
Assume that both the forms are running from two different machines/instances, issuing commit at the same time. In this case, forms will start executing the statements written in ON-INSERT trigger, the moment POST command is executed. Though the commit is issued at the same time, according to oracle, only one of the request will be taken for processing first. Assume that calling form 1 is getting processed first.
So, it fetches the value available in COLUMN_1 of TABLE_A and locks the row from further select, update, etc. as SELECT...FOR UPDATE command is used (note that NOWAIT is not given, hence the lock will be released only when COMMIT or ROLLBACK happens) and proceed executing further INSERT statements. Because of the lock provided by the SELECT...FOR UPDATE command, the statements in calling form 2 will wait for the resource.
After executing the INSERT statements, the FORM_CHILD is called. The rows inserted in to TABLE_A will be queried and shown. The database changes will be committed when user closes the window (as COMMIT is issued in its WHEN-WINDOW-CLOSED trigger). Then the SELECT...FOR UPDATE lock will be released and calling form 2's statements will be executed.
Actual happenings or Mis-behavior:
Calling form 2 starts executing INSERT statements instead of waiting for SELECT...FOR UPDATE lock. Also, the value selected from TABLE_A.COLUMN_1 is same in both the calling forms, which is wrong.
The rows inserted into TABLE_B are having similar COLUMN_1 values in calling form 2 and they are fetched and shown in the called form FORM_CHILD.
Note that in calling form 2 also POST only is issued, but the changes posted there are accessible in calling form 1 also, which is wrong.
Kindly suggest us as to how to fix above problem. It will be much use, if you can send us the information regarding the behavior of Oracle Forms POST built-in also.

You have several problems:
1. On-Insert will ONLY run if you have created a new record in a base-table block. If you haven't done that, then the POST command will not cause it to run.
2. Select for update without a "no wait" will lock records for the first form, but when the second form tries this, it will hit the ORA-00054 exception, and will NOT wait. The only way you could make it wait is to issue an UPDATE sql command, which is not such a good way to go.
All POST does is issues SQL insert or update commands for any changes the user has made to records in a form's base-table blocks, without following with a Commit command.
Also understand that Commit is the same as Commit_Form, and Rollback is the same as Clear_Form. You should read up on these in the Forms help topics.

In my BPEL process is a right msg, but the email doesn`t arrive:

Problem with Change Document FM - Not all fields are tracked in CDPOS

Hello everybody,
Using transaction SCDO and following necessary steps described in forum, I have created a change document ZFBR to track changes of a table ZFBR. The problem is, the generated FM ZFBR_WRITE_DOCUMENT does not track changes of some fields of the table (inserts are always ok, problem is with updates). After some debugging I realized that the FM DDIF_NAMETAB_GET was returning the table DFIES_TAB where the LOGFLAG was empty for some fields (which are not tracked) so that changes of these fields were not visible in table CDPOS. However, fields with LOGFLAG = 'X' are tracked succesfully (changes are visible in table CDPOS).
I did not specify any fields to be get logged or not during the steps in SCDO (can we do such a specification anywhere?), does anyone know why the field LOGFLAG has the value '' (space)?

The problem has been solved.
The data elements used in a table are the reason for the problem I have described above. When displaying the details of a data element, under tab "Further Characteristics" , the "Change Document" checkbox has to be selected to enable change document tracking. I have copied the problematic data elements with Z prefix and made the necessary enabling. I have replaced the data elements with their Z equivalents.

Java.util.logging - Problem with setting different Levels for each Handler

I am having issues setting up the java.util.logging system to use multiple handlers.
I will paste the relevant code below, but basically I have 3 Handlers. One is a custom handler that opens a JOptionPane dialog with the specified error, the others are ConsoleHandler and FileHandler. I want Console and File to display ALL levels, and I want the custom handler to only display SEVERE levels.
As it is now, all log levels are being displayed in the JOptionPane, and the Console is displaying duplicates.
Here is the code that sets up the logger:

For now I have fixed the issue of setLevel not working by making a Filter class:

After much searching around, this logging api is quite annoying at times. I have seen numerous other people run into problems with it not logging specific levels, or logging too many levels, etc. A developer should be able to complete configure the system without having to modify external config files.
Does anyone else have another solution?

basically i want to start the server that is already preconfigured and deploy
one ear.
here's what i do:

Problems with the OPC Connector for older OPC DA servers?

we are developing a solution involving OPC data access and want to utilize xMII as a gateway between the OPC server and our application. The xMII installation we use works fine with three different demoservers we connected, even when accessing them remotely.
When first trying to connect to our real datasource, we encountered problems. The namespace was not browsable from within the xMII Query Template editor. A taglist was given though, but the tags did not give proper results. The general log stated, that an "invalid server" was being used.
Other OPC clients which are designed for diagnostic use did not have any problems with namespace browsing or accessing the data in our server, so the problem was limited to the use of xMII. Reconfiguring the namespace of the OPC server led to data access working in xMII, but the namespace is still not browsable from within xMII.
We use a Simatic NET OPC Server, which states it fulfills OPC DA specification 1.0A and SAP xMII 11.5.1 with an OPCDatasource2_5_0_4beta Connector. The question is, if our problems could arise from our use of such an old OPC specification in the server? It is stated that the DataSource Connector works with "any OPC server", but as I understand it the actual specification is OPC DA 3.0, which would be quite a distance in versions.

Luckily, I found a stable state for cooperation between my components. Now I have the validation that this state must not be altered by others.

Constant problems with external HD used for time machine.

I have had numerous problems with my backup disk and can't seem to solve the problem... I often get errors with disk not ejecting properly, sometimes when the iMac has gone to sleep, sometimes not. Often the Mac won't recognise the disk when plugged back in (it recognises the other partition though). I can get the disk in disk utility sometimes, but if I run repair disk it finds a lot of errors and tells me it can't fix the disk. I'm told to Backup, format the disk etc.
Running yosemite on a 2008 iMac - disk is Hitachi 1TB usb powered (plugged straight in to iMac). I have prevented spotlight from indexing the HD.
Any advice ideas? Thanks in advance.

Is it hard-wired to the enclosure? If not, examine the connectors and compare with what is available. I doubt that it has a connector that is unique to this particular drive.
If you choose to replace the drive, don't get another manufacturer-branded external. They are often "crippled" so that they can't be used in anything other than the generally cheap enclosure in which they are packaged, or only usable if you re-format them. Here's a comment from a recent Macintouch thread on new Seagate 5TB externals (http://www.macintouch.com/readerreports/harddrives/index.html#d23mar2015):
A word of warning for those who want to rip out their drive. If you have data on it, it will only be read by Seagate controllers such as its original case or the GoFlex adapters. If you stick it in something like an IcyDock, it cannot be read and require a reformat. If you used it with another controller, it cannot be read when you put it back on the Seagate controllers.
A good quality enclosure, such as the OWC Mercury aluminum cases, is a good investment. You can choose the drive you install, and you usually get a better drive warranty that way.
