Problem with multiple 'selectOneMenu' fields

I have a JSF web page with 2 selectOneMenu fields. The first field is populated as the page loads,
the second field is populated from the value selected in the first field. The second field value is
associated to a variable in the backing bean which is used for further processing when the
command button is pressed.
on pressing the command button the following error message appears :
jsf E com.sun.faces.context.FacesContextImpl addMessage Adding Message[sourceId=form1:menu2,summary=Validation Error: Value is not valid)
Below is my JSF page and backing bean. Any help would be appreciated

I haven't taken the time to read your code, but the error message "Value is not valid" mostly means that the value of f:selectItems is dirty.
If you understand generics, this one clearly explains the usage of h:selectOneMenu:
JSF<h:selectOneMenu value="#{myBean.selectedItem}">
    <f:selectItems value="#{myBean.selectItems}" />
</h:selectOneMenu>MyBeanprivate T selectedItem;
private List < SelectItem < T, String > > selectItems;
// + getters + setters
// T is the Object you want to select. String is the label for the menu.
// think away the spaces surrounding < and >, the parser of this forum is a bit crappy ;)

  • Problems with multiple idocs in one file ( Inbound file )

    HI,
    Thanks in Advance for your suggestions.. Highly appreciated.
    We have problems with multiple IDocs in one file.
    We are using XIB ( Amtrix ) as Middleware to receive the files.
    Curretenly When the file contains one IDoc then there is no problem. IDoc is created and everything is ok.
    If file contains two IDocs ( for example two messages ORDERS and DELVERY ) then it is creating two IDocs but both IDocs contains ORDERS plus DELIVERY segements information. That is the problem. Some how SAP unable to differentiate the IDocs in the file.. But it knows that how many idocs are there in the file..because it is creating exact number of idocs.
    We are using TRFC port ... Do I need to change it to File port..
    When we have more than one idoc do we need set any parameter in the file ...

    Thanks for the swift response. Always ideas are useful.
    As of now , Middleware cannot split the file.
    Thing is SAP is creating two Idocs with different message types. Problem is First IDoc contains ORDERS message type but also DELIVERY segments as well. Second IDoc with DELIVERY message tyoe but ORDERS segments as well... This is the problem... I think we are missing some field activation in file for EDIDC record.
    As far as I know file port supports the number of IDocs in one file.. Hope TRFC port also supports that

  • Problem with multiple forms and subview

    I have a problem when using NetBean Web Pack (JDK6, Net Beans 5.5, JSF 1.2).
    1) I created a JSF page (hello.jsp) and a page fragment (header.jspf) inside Web Pack, and let the JSF page (hello.jsp) includes the page fragment.
    2) The include instruction is outside of the "form" element id=main_form() of the first JSF page.
    3) Inside the page fragment (header.jspf), I put a form (id=header_form) with some input fields inside the "subview" element.
    4) When running the web application, the form and its children (id=header_form) inside the subview are not rendered.
    It seems to be a problem with multiple forms on a page and the subview.
    Do I use these JSF components incorrectly? Any advice?
    Thanks

    The forms are not nested.
    hello.jsp
    <webuijsf:body ...>
    <!-- BEGIN: include header -->
    <div style="margin: 0px 0px 10px 0px; left: 0px; top: 0px">
    <jsp:directive.include file="Header.jspf"/>
    </div>
    <!-- END: include header -->
    <webuijsf:form ...>
    From above fragment, you can see the header.jspf is outside of the form element.

  • Problem with multiple Toplink/JPA apps in same server

    Anyone have experence of running serveral Toplink/ EJB-3 Web apps in the same server (OC4J, alas)?
    We seem to get a problem with the second app failing to initialise toplink, with an entity not found message. Each app runs OK on it's own.

    Yes, they access the same datasource and most of the tables overlap.
    We're thinking it might help to have common entity classes and put them in a shared library, but I don't know if this is relevant (setting up shared libraries complicates testing and tends to snowball, I reckon we need about 15 jars all told).
    I''ve had some funnies on OC4J before which I think may be to do with it's use of ClassLoaders, for example I initially put persistence.xml in the libary jar with the data model, but for some reason I get the entity not found error that way. It only seems to work if it's in the classes folder.
    For the moment we're getting arround the problem with multiple OC4J instances in the server.

  • Is it possible to create a form with multiple form fields on a single line?

    Is it possible to create a form with multiple form fields on a single line?  I can't find anything in the documentation or a template that does this.
    I am trying to create a "documents received" checklist with a check box on the left margin, a date-received field to the right of the check box and and a description of the document (Formatted Text) on the far right.
    In the past I have entered the Fixed Text with a word processor, published it to a PDF file, then added the check box and date fields with the Acrobat Forms editor.  I would prefer to use FormsCentral if it is possible.

    We now support multiple fields on one line. This post provides a brief overview.
    Give it a try and send us your feedback.
    Sorry it took so long.

  • Problem with a Dynpro field (type numc)

    hi everybody.
    I'm developping a ModulPool application in wich i have 2 RadioButtons with 2 textbox fields.
    What i pretend to do is, when the user clicks a radiobutton and strikes Intro, enable the corresponding textbox field and disable the other one.
    My code runs fine, but i have a little problem. When I loop the screen table, to set the appropiate value to the 'input' property, in this case, when i try to disable it (input = '0'), I get a zero character in that field. This field has NUMC type, i'm sure this is the problem
    'cos i've got no problem with the other field (type char). But i can't solve it.
    Anybody's got an idea?
    Thanks

    What you are seeing is the normal behavior of a numeric field represented by the SAPgui.  This is how all numeric fields are displayed via SAPgui.  If you don't want to see the 0,  then you just change the field type to CHAR and handle accordingly.

  • Best Solution for Creating an Onlne Purchase order form with multiple calculation fields

    I am a bit confused.  Our school has a Forms Central account which works great for our registration forms but I need to find a solution for creating an online purchase form with multiple calculation fields - I know that forms central does not support calculation fields (too bad) but I know that Acrobat Pro does... soooo...
    Can you create the forms in Acrobat and then somehow integrate the advanced features into forms central?  Do they talk to each other?  Is this easy to do? .... I guess another way to putting it is can you create the forms in Acrobat including all of the advanced features for payment calculation and then host it online using Forms Central to manage and collect the data? (I guess that really is my question)
    Thanks (how does this compare to a solution like Formstack?)

    Hi, thanks.
    The naming convention was the consistant up until a point when I read that you need a '.' syntax (?!) - does anyone know if this is true?
    Attached is a version with Bernd Alheit's suggestion and with all the naming of the fields being consistant. It's still not working for me though after doing this and I'm stuck as to why, because I think it should work. I've also tried writing the calcualting line of code in the same manner that Bernd Alheit suggests before I came on here, and it wouldn't work then.
    As with any coding, it must be something to which I have done, but I can't see it anywhere
    Any ideas? Thanks for helping me
    Cheers

  • Problem with the quantity field

    hi every one
    i am facing a problem with the quantity field (vbap-kwmeng)
    as per my requirement i need to display this quantity field along with some other item fields from VBAP in an alv grid.
    among all the fields displayed in the alv grid only this quantity field is editable(end user can change this quantity)
    once end user changes this quantity and press save button i need to capture this new quantity in my internaltable.
    problem is input of length of quantity is 15 and the output length is 19
    so when i am pressing save
    say my quantity is 50 when i am pressing save '0.050' is coming because of the length difference
    how can i capture the original changed value.
    vamsi

    what about define two fields in  you inner table ,one as char and the other as vbap-kwmeng, you can show the char one in the ALV gird , when user input value and press SAVE ,you can move the value to vbap-kwmeng.
    you can test it,mybe some one has one better idea.

  • Problem with adding new field to the mass change screen in FBL5N

    Hi,
    We have a problem with adding the field XREF3 to the mass change screen. We followed steps described in the SAP Note 640908, but the result is that when we try to mass change some documents in FBL5N and enter some values in the mass change screen, a message appears: "Please enter at least one new value" and nothing is changed.
    If you have faced with such a problem, we would be grateful if you give us some tips.

    The problem has been resolved: we didn't activate a code in SE80.

    There are dozens of CSS attributes that can (and have to) be handwritten. Trouble with them is that, like text shadows, they don't appear in all browsers. I have nine different browsers installed and test pages in ALL of them before I "finish" building site or page for a template.
    I try to build for Firefox, out of personal preference for it, but I have to do things that work with IE because it still holds the market share (46%IE to 42%FF), and I will only go with designs that work in IE, FF, NS, Opera, Safari, and Chrome.
    As to your questions.
    1. The compatibility check is most likely current with the time of the build. I don't know if that component updates as browsers do, but I'd tend to think it doesn't. I'm using CS4  and there haven't been any updates for it in nearly a year. Firefox has released 4.0, Opera released 11, and Safari released 5 since then. The updater would have found and downloaded something if it was available.
    2. I could only guess. Text shadows DON'T show up in design view (or in IE) but they do in browser preview. It's just a UI quirk, and it means "trial and error" is the onyl way to get what you want.
    3. The quick-selects which are in DW dropdowns or popouts are the ones most  common to CSS designs and have been proven to work with all browsers at the time of release of your particular build of DW.
    Hope that helps..

  • Lp - problems with multiple files ?

    Does anyone know of or have experienced problems with the lp command and
    multiple files on Solaris 5.6?. Currently when trying to print issuing one lp command for 164 files from within a script i.e lp file1 file2 file3..... file164, a request id is received for the job but then the job just disappears, no error message, nothing !. Any ideas ?

    Thanks for the swift response. Always ideas are useful.
    As of now , Middleware cannot split the file.
    Thing is SAP is creating two Idocs with different message types. Problem is First IDoc contains ORDERS message type but also DELIVERY segments as well. Second IDoc with DELIVERY message tyoe but ORDERS segments as well... This is the problem... I think we are missing some field activation in file for EDIDC record.
    As far as I know file port supports the number of IDocs in one file.. Hope TRFC port also supports that

  • UME user search with multiple search fields (AND / OR search)

    Hi,
    I'm struggling with a UME user search problem. I have multiple search fields: lastname, firstname, department
    Searching in this fields is working with the default IPrincipalSearchFilter.SEARCHMETHOD_AND (default)
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/javadocs/NW04/current/um/com/sap/security/api/IPrincipalSearchFilter.html#setSearchMethod(int)">JavaDocs SearchMethod_AND</a>
    Now I would like to add an additional search field for searching in telephone, cellphone as well. BUT searching for a phone number with searching for one of the other fields should not be a AND search. Is this possible?
    Here is the actual non-working code:
         Vector retVector = new Vector();
         //get Userdata with IUserFactory
         IResourceFactory resourceFactory = ResourceFactory.getInstance();
         IURLGeneratorService urlGen = (IURLGeneratorService)resourceFactory.getServiceFactory().getService(IServiceTypesConst.URLGENERATOR_SERVICE);
         IUserFactory userFac = UMFactory.getUserFactory();
         IUserSearchFilter srcFilter = null;
         try
              srcFilter = userFac.getUserSearchFilter();
         } catch (UMException e)
              // TODO Auto-generated catch block
              e.printStackTrace();
         if(lastName.length() > 0)
              srcFilter.setLastName(lastName + "*",ISearchAttribute.LIKE_OPERATOR, false);
         if(firstName.length() > 0)
              srcFilter.setFirstName(firstName + "*",ISearchAttribute.LIKE_OPERATOR, false);
         if(department.length() > 0)
              srcFilter.setDepartment(department + "*", ISearchAttribute.LIKE_OPERATOR, false);
    //Here I need help!!!!!!! Please advice!!!
         if(telephone.length() > 0)
              srcFilter.setTelephone("*" + telephone, ISearchAttribute.LIKE_OPERATOR, false);
              srcFilter.setCellPhone("*" + telephone, ISearchAttribute.LIKE_OPERATOR, false);
         //if(mobil.length() > 0)
         //     srcFilter.setCellPhone("*" + mobil, ISearchAttribute.LIKE_OPERATOR, false);
         //Set maxium value for Result and thus limit the static variable SIZE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED
         //This method can only be used, if only one search attribute is specified -> thanks SAP
         if(srcFilter.getElementSize() <= 1)
              srcFilter.setMaxSearchResultSize(300);
         ISearchResult srcResult = null;
         try
              srcResult = userFac.searchUsers(srcFilter);
         } catch (UMException e1)
              // TODO Auto-generated catch block
              e1.printStackTrace();
    Thanks for any help...
    Stefan

    Hello,
    I could still need some help. Is there no one who could give me a tip? Could I explain my problem clearly enough or do you need some more information about my problem?
    Or is the search topic with searchFilter not a very common used thing?
    Is there a possibility to do a search in the received search result? Can anyone explain how this would work?
    Any ideas are welcome.
    Regards,
    Stefan
