Problem with package and compile
I am new to Java. I am currently using Java in developing a simple system. However, my system need to import other external classes.
The main problem is i dont know how to compile this file when they are in separate folder (i am using windows). Let say the main .java is in one folder and other external .java in other folders. I knew this can be done with the use of package. the problem is when i try to compile, there is a problem.
I used to refer from the below link for many times, but still cannot get it.
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/tooldocs/win32/javac.html
can anyone provide me the most simple way of:
1. import from external classes into my main system
e.g: import com.jrefinery.report.Element;
2. how to compile all .java from different directory
3. after i compile, i need the .class files place in other directory
advanced thanks to those who able to provide help.
Sosan
can anyone provide me the most simple way of:
1. import from external classes into my main system
e.g: import com.jrefinery.report.Element;You can use the -classpath option with javac, specifying the path of your external classes.
javac -classpath C:/classes D:/classes
2. how to compile all .java from different directoryYou simply indicate the path of the different sources files one after the other, like that :
However, you really should put all your source files in the same package unsig the package instruction. All files that belong to the same package must reside in the same directory indicated by the package name. Look up some doc about the package instruction.
javac -classpath C:/classes D:/classes C:/source/myclass.java D:/source/myClass.javaYou should put all the source files in 1 directory an compile using the * wildcard by :
"javac C:/sources/*.java" for example
3. after i compile, i need the .class files place in
other directoryuse -d option with javac to specify the output directory :
javac -classpath C:/classes D:/classes -d C:/outputdir C:/source/myclass.java D:/source/myClass.javaTo simplify things, put all source files in the same directory and put a copy of each external package you use in this directory. So you won't have to use classpath.
I also suggest you write a .bat file to do all the operations at once, and stick with it so that each time you change something in the sources you won't have to go through all the steps.
Beware, because path issues in java can be very tricky.

Problem with packageing and deploying a sample application
HI,
I have tried to download and install the server in my system. I am able to deploy a sample application using autodeploy utility.
But when i tried to package a new sample application and deploy i am getting 404 error. For application server i have used 7070 port and not the default 8080 port will this a problem to package & deploy sample application provided with this software.
The error is as below:
HTTP Status 404 - /hello1
type Status report
message /hello1
description The requested resource (/hello1) is not available.
Sun-Java-System/Application-ServerBtw, verify that the url you are trying to access is correct. For instance, assuming you deploy app. without --contextroot option. By default, the url is http://<host>:<port>/<web module name>/<value of url-pattern in web.xml> if your app contains servlet. If your app has jsp then it's http://<host>:<port>/<web module name>/<value of url-pattern in web.xml>/<name of jsp>

Problem with package and directory structure
Please... I need help with a directory/package structure that I don't understand
why it is not working...
I want to create a custom login SWF which several other SWF movies will use in case they need some kind of login logic (in this case it is a login logic... but the problem doesn't have anything to do with that logic...)
I have created a FLA movie (LOGIN.FLA) and two helper classes (MAINLOGIN.AS and MAINLOGINEVENT.AS)... they are all under the same directory, for example:
c:\
abc\
def\
ghi\
login
In LOGIN.FLA, I have included the source path, c:\abc (for example).
MAINLOGIN.AS and MAINLOGINEVENT.AS, have both a package like:
package def.ghi.login
MainLogin class uses MainLoginEvent (it dispatches events of that type)... but I don't have to import anything as all 3files are in the same directory...
LOGIN.FLA has its class defined as def.ghi.login.MainLogin
And that's all... now comes the problem:
1. If I leave everything as described and try to publis LOGIN.FLA, it throws error 5001 ("The name of the package def.ghi.login.MainLoginEvent doesn't reflect....) for class MainLoginEvent... don't understand why... it is placed exactly as MainLogin and has the same package definition!
2. I have tried several other options, but when I get the SWF to get published, then, the problem comes when trying to use this SWF from another movie:
The way to publish LOGIN.FLA with no errors is: MAINLOGIN.AS and MAINLOGINEVENT.AS with empty package definition ("package" alone...) and LOGIN.FLA with class MainLogin (not def.ghi.login.MainLogin)... LOGIN.FLA doesn't have to include source path to c;\abc in this case. This way, I can publish LOGIN and get LOGIN.SWF.
The problem now is how to use this information from another Movieclip... I want to be able to use and receive events of type MainLoginEvent but can't (it gives error 5001 again, on MainLoginEvent, saying that the name of the package '' doesnt' reflect....)... If I include the path to c:\abc\def\ghi\login on the FLA, then it gives errors in MainLogin when trying to use a class of its library...
Basically, the problem here is that, the movie which wants to use the LOGIN.SWF, is in c:\abc\def, and it is including the source path c:\abc, so if I import def.ghi.login.*
it is when it throws error 5001 (I understand why, but I dont know how to fix it...), but if I dont import def.ghi.login.* then I can't use MainLogin nor MainLoginEvent...
What is the good way of doing this kind of structure... mainly it is creating a SWF, which can be used from other SWF's and which can dispatch events, which the container SWF will capture...
If anyone can please give me a hint... THANK YOU!Hi kglad , I don't understand the first point... "don't use absolute paths"... I'm not using them (or I don't understand what you mean).
For the second one... the structure is like:
c:\
abc\
def\
LOGINCONTAINER.FLA
ghi\
login\
LOGIN.FLA
MAINLOGIN.AS
MAINLOGINEVENT.AS
In LOGIN.FLA, I include the source path c:\abc, so MAINLOGIN.AS and MAINLOGINEVENT.AS have a package of "def.ghi.login", and the class for LOGIN.FLA is "def.ghi.login.MainLogin"... when trying to publish LOGIN.FLA, Flash throws error 5001 for MAINLOGINEVENT...¿?
What I want to get is a SWF (LOGIN.SWF), which can be loaded from any other SWF (in this example, LOGINCONTAINER.SWF). LOGINCONTAINER.FLA, has a class path "c:\abc" (the same as the other LOGIN.FLA, because of the directory structure), and it has to be able to receive events of type MAINLOGINEVENT... that is why it has to do an import of "import def.ghi.login.*" (for example)
Any idea of why it is not working (or how to organize it correctly)?
Thank you -
Problem with path and compiling
I am trying to compile a class where I have and object I created as well. It complains that it cannot find that object (or class in the classpath) and fires this error when I try to compile:
Error: csci5433.database.animals.Pets.customerName is declared to be of type csci5433.database.customer.Customer and class csci543
3.database.customer.Customer can't be located in the classpath.
Now, when I add the class file to the classpath it fires this other error:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: and
Customer class does not have a main method or anything of the like and when I compile that class it compiles without problem.
Thanks!You don't put full paths to class files in the classpath. You just put in jar files and directories that hold the classes. And the directories should reflect the package structure. So if there's a file c:\monkey\cow\Horse.class, and Horse is a class in the package "cow", then the classpath should include "c:\monkey", and that's it. It shouldn't include c:\monkey\cow\ or c:\monkey\cow\Horse.class.
Also try to remember that most things in java take class names, not file names. In the above example, the full name of the Horse class is "cow.Horse". Except for the compiler, one almost never mentions filenames.
So I'm guessing that you specified the classpath incorrectly, and you created your jars incorrectly.
I'm still confused why the compiler would say:Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: andWhere did you ever use the word "and"? -
Problem with packages and findClass()
Im trying to make a loader for java project it runs fine from a batch file with this inside it.
@echo off
java -classpath rscdaemon.jar;lib/xpp3.jar;lib/xstream.jar;lib/hex-string.jar com.rscd.client.mudclient rscdaemon.org
pause
{code}
now when I try to load it from java with URL for JAR ZipEntity loading
loading the Jar from URL with
private JarFile jar;
public loader(String archive) throws IOException {
URL u = new URL("jar:" + archive + "!/");
JarURLConnection jurl = (JarURLConnection) u.openConnection();
jar = jurl.getJarFile();
Here is the jar url if anyone is wondering
http://24.185.39.150:8081/rscdaemon.jar
{code:java}
String value = "com.rscd.client.mudclient.class";
Applet app = (Applet) loader.loadClass(value.replaceAll(".class", "")).newInstance();
{code}
The loader worked before when the java jar wasn't in packages now it stopped working.
{code:java}
public Class<?> loadClass(String string) throws ClassNotFoundException {
Class c = null;
try {
c = super.findSystemClass(string);
} catch (ClassNotFoundException cnfe) {
try {
ZipEntry zip = jar.getEntry(string.replaceAll("\\.", File.pathSeparator) + ".class");
int size = (int) zip.getSize();
byte buffer[] = new byte;
if (size == (new DataInputStream(jar.getInputStream(zip))).read(buffer)) {
c = defineClass(string, buffer, 0, buffer.length);
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
if (c != null) return c;
return super.loadClass(string);
{code}
The error I get is this
{code:java}
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.rscd.client.mudclient
at java.lang.ClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
{code}
anyone know whats the problem?
I'd really LOVE yah if you can help me out.

Hi guys,
I am trying to create a package, jar so that I can reuse it later.
- This is my package
/* START OF CODE */
package com.me.MyClass;
public class MyClass {
public void myMethod() {
/* END OF CODE */
- I compile it using
% javac -d c:\jdk1.3\jre\classes MyClass.java
- Then I jar it
%jar cf c:\jdk1.3\jre\classes\MyPackage.jar c:\jdk1.3\jre\classes\*.*
- I set the classpath to
c:\jdk1.3\jre\classes\MyPackage.jar
- Then I import it
I set the classpath in the environment variables (i run win2k)
c:\jdk1.3\jre\classes\MyPackage.jar
- But when i compile, i get the following error
MyProgram.java:4: cannot resolve symbol
symbol : class MyClass
location: package me
import com.me.MyClass;
^
Thanks for helping!This should start out in
c:\jdk1.3\jre\classes\com\me\MyClass.class
assuming the folder "com" is the only one in
"classes"
you can just cd \jdk1.3\jre\classes
then
jar cf MyPackage.jar *
you need the nested folders in there com\me\
after you make it you can put it in jre\lib\ext
and use it from there without resetting you path -
Hello,
I am having a strange problem with Tomcat and axis. I have a webservice that uses axis2 for wsdl2java class generation. When I compile my project in maven a Test is performed. During the test a glassfish server is established and the project is deployed -everything work great with the expected results. However when I try to deploy the webservice on tomcat it has some problems.
At first I tried to call axis code in a POST method that takes a MultiPart message. The code is as below:
*@Path("identifyWavestream")*
*@POST*
*@Consumes(MediaType.MULTIPART_FORM_DATA)*
*@Produces(MediaType.APPLICATION_XML)*
*public String multipartTest(com.sun.jersey.multipart.MultiPart multiPart) throws Exception {*
*// get first body part (index 0)*
*//tomcat shows that the first error is here (line 122 is the nest one with bodypart)*
BodyPart bp = multiPart.getBodyParts().get(0);
BodyPartEntity bodyPartEntity = (BodyPartEntity) bp.getEntity();
InputStream stream = bodyPartEntity.getInputStream();
*//the rest of the code either saves the incoming file or implements the wsdl2java axis interface - neither works.*
And the tomcat error is:
java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 0, Size: 0

It was strange to me since this simple approach of handling a Multipart method worked for me earlier. Then I decided skip the handling of multipart method and just call the axis code. But the results also caused an error. I then tried to call the axis code in a simple @GET method (to cross out any issues regarding the multipart) and the result where the same. Again everything works on the maven- glassfish test. In this case the tomcat error is the following:

Problem with modules and ModuleLoader
Hi everybody,
i'm facing a real funny problem with modules and
moduleLoader, i hope
it's not (only) my fault anyway...
If i create a normal flex project with fBuilder, i'm able to
use
modules in a lot of different ways (as mxml, as as in a
function etc..)...
but if i try to use them in my fds application (created with
fds
eclipse plugin or as a dataServices project) i can't use
modules. The compile-time error message is
always the same:
Could not resolve <mx:ModuleLoader> to a component
implementation
I tried a lot of solutions, paying attention to import all
the classes, to declaration, naming, positioning
etc...but nothing changes, this thing is drivining me
crazy!!!.
I will appreciate anykind of help.
TIA
FabioAny idea?

Problem with Roles and Triggers
I'm having a strange problem with Roles and Triggers in Oracle. It's a little difficult to describe, so bear with me...
I'm trying to create a trigger that inserts records into a table belonging to a different user/owner. Of course, the owner of this trigger needs rights to insert records into this other table. I find that if I add these rights directly to the owner of the trigger, everything works okay and the trigger compiles successfully.
However, if I first create a Role and grant the "insert" rights to it, and then assign this role to the owner of the trigger, the trigger does not compile successfully.
To illustrate this, here's an example script. I'm using Oracle 10g Release 2...
-- Clean up...
DROP TABLE TestUser.TrigTable;
DROP TABLE TestUser2.TestTable;
DROP ROLE TestRole;
DROP TRIGGER TestUser.TestTrigger;
DROP USER TestUser CASCADE;
DROP USER TestUser2 CASCADE;
-- Create Users...
CREATE USER TestUser IDENTIFIED BY password DEFAULT TABLESPACE "USERS" TEMPORARY TABLESPACE "TEMP" QUOTA UNLIMITED ON "USERS";
CREATE USER TestUser2 IDENTIFIED BY password DEFAULT TABLESPACE "USERS" TEMPORARY TABLESPACE "TEMP" QUOTA UNLIMITED ON "USERS";
CREATE TABLE TestUser.TrigTable (TestColumn VARCHAR2(40));
CREATE TABLE TestUser2.TestTable (TestColumn VARCHAR2(40));
-- Grant Insert rights on TestTable to TestRole...
CREATE ROLE TestRole NOT IDENTIFIED;
GRANT INSERT ON TestUser2.TestTable TO TestRole;
-- Add TestRole to TestUser. TestUser should now have rights to INSERT on TestTable
GRANT TestRole TO TestUser;
ALTER USER TestUser DEFAULT ROLE ALL;
-- Now, create the trigger. This compiles unsuccessfully...
CREATE TRIGGER TestUser.TestTrigger AFTER INSERT ON TestUser.TrigTable
BEGIN
INSERT INTO TestUser2.TestTable (TestColumn) VALUES ('Test');
END;
When I do a "SHOW ERRORS;" after this, I get:
SQL> show errors;
Errors for TRIGGER TESTUSER.TESTTRIGGER:
LINE/COL ERROR
2/3 PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
2/25 PL/SQL: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
SQL>
As I said above, if I just add the Insert rights directly to TestUser, the trigger compiles perfectly. Does anyone know why this is happening?
Thanks!
AdrianHi Raghu,
If the insert rights exist only on TestRole, and TestRole is assigned to TestUser, I can do the INSERT statement you suggest with no problems if I just execute it from SQLPlus (logged in as TestUser).
The question is, why does the same INSERT fail when it's inside the trigger? -
Problem with filePathSeperator and /
Problem with fileSeperatorChar and /. When I use fileSeperatorChar (to lacate a folder), the path is specified wrong. I want my program to run on different OS, so I need this to work.
If I do this:
JLabel label = new JLabel("", new ImageIcon("Images/label.gif");
//or something like that it works. Will this give me multiple platform support?
But when I try:
JLabel label = new JLabel("", new ImageIcon("Images" + filePathSeperatorChar + "label.gif");
//or something like that They all compile, but I took this off the top of my head. Anyway, when I print out the path for the second technuige, the path reads like this:
Images;label.gifYou used filePathSeparator. On Windows you use a semicolon to separate the components of a path, which is a list of directories or jar files, which is why you are getting a semicolon. You want the system property "file.separator" instead. Or use the variable File.separatorChar.

$ dhcpcd --rebind
You could also try increasing the timeout by adding
TimeoutDHCP=
to your netctl profile/s - see netctl.profile(5) as WonderWoofy suggests. Although I haven't tried the latter.

Problem with Java and Windows (Mainly Vista and UAC)
Hi all,
I am having a problem with a program that I've devoloped. The program itself is packaged as a jar and I plan to deploy it across multiple platforms eventually however right now i am only concerned about windows based systems. I have made an installer for a windows baised systems using NSIS to install the software files. I made the installer as I need several java packages to be installed so the program would work (JAI, J3D, JAI ImageIO) and I also require the program to have fileassociations on windows.
I know that this is not what java is about, however the majority of the users will be on windows baised systems so I've decided that OS specific installers is the best option.
During the process I have noticed that there are several key problem with java for this type of application!
The first issue that I have come across is getting file associations to work on java. As a .jar is not an excutable it is not possible to directly associate a filetype with it in java so to overcome this I currently run the program from a .bat files and also the program requires large memory so this also allows me to run the program with -xmx. The batch file that I use is :
<code>
cd PATH TO PROGRAM
start javaw -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true -Xmn100M -Xms500M -Xmx1000M -jar "PATH TO PROGRAM\program.jar" %1 -vram 134217728
pause;
</code>
Ok so all this appears to work fine and allows windows to have file associations and start the program and thats all works perfectly but this is a non-ideal solution. Has anyone got any advice on improving this?
The next problem that I have appears to be a problem with Vista and UAC (user access control). When a user installs the program and installs the program into the program files directory I found that the program did not work and kept saying that I did not have access to the files in the current directory. This is a problem as I read and write settings files during program execution.
On a Vista system UAC prevents file write operations into the Program Files directory unless the program has requested elevated status even if the user is a full administrator. The probem is that there appears to be no real way to achieve this under java that I'm aware of...
Has anyone else had this probem and has a suitable solution?
Any advice on these issues would realy be appricated.
Regards
JoeyOk so i've kinda found a solution, its not ideal but its very good. I found this program called Elevate
A link to the site I got it was
http://www.wintellect.com/cs/blogs/jrobbins/archive/2007/03/27/elevate-a-process-at-the-command-line-in-vista.aspx
This program allows you start java with a UAC dialog for high access using
Elevate java -jar myjar.jar
This then allows you to have full access using java... I guess it could be dangerous but it does the job. -
Problem with tpcall and tpgetrply functions
Hi,
I have a problem with tpcall() and tpgetrply() functions.
In this example (invoke tpcall()):
FBFR32 *buf;
FLDLEN32 buflen;
buf = a_buffer.getBuffer(); /* getBuffer() returns FBFR32* */
buflen = a_buffer.getLongitud();
/* at this point: buf == a_buffer.getBuffer() */
if (tpcall(a_contenedor.getServname(),
(char*)a_contenedor.getBufferPeticion()->getBuffer(),
a_contenedor.getBufferPeticion()->getLongitud(),
(char**)&buf,
(long*)&buflen,
0) == -1)
if (tperrno != TPESVCFAIL)
LANZAR_EXCEPCION(CADENA_WHAT_SB,
"Error en funcion Execute(), llamada tpcall()",
tpstrerror(tperrno))
/* at this point: buf != a_buffer.getBuffer() */
tpcall() function change the memory address of buf. What is the problem? Is wrong my code? Is a problem with tuxedo version?
My tuxedo version is:
tmadmin -vINFO: BEA Tuxedo, Version 8.0, 32-bit, Patch Level 306
INFO: Serial #: 650522264137-773290431251, Expiration NONE, Maxusers 150
INFO: Licensed to: Telefonica Moviles Espa?a, S.A.
INFO: 56-bit Encryption Package
Thanks,
ANTONIO.There's nothing wrong with your code or tuxedo. tpcall (and tpgetrply) can change the address of the return buffer if it needs to allocate more memory to hold the data. This is the reason why you pass a pointer to the buffer as the output buffer parameter to tpcall and tpreturn. Everything is working as expected.

[Problem with U310 and W8] Deinstalled my WuDFRd-Drivers
Hey,
i just set up my new u310 with windows 8 and it worked fine. Then i realised, that on startup it takes about 4-10 minutes to search for wifi and i began struggeling around with things... deinstalled some drivers, reinstalled them again, just to see which drivers collide because the wifi service didnt start on startup.
Then i saw a message on my system which was timed around the startup time and it said "The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ROOT\LENOVOVHID\0000.". I looked it up on the internet and i saw that few people had the same problems with the long startup and similar things... so i just deinstalled the "Windows Driver Package - Lenovo WuDFRd Drivers" to reinstall a newer version or something like that.... but problem is, Where can i find this Driver package? I just cant find it. Will the startup problem be solved with a new installation of these drivers? Please help meThank you for your response. Originally, I had a problem with Airport and ended up reinstalling Snow Leopard. Since then, when downloading upgrades etc, such as HP printer drivers, iTunes etc., towards the end of the download when its running the script, I get this message: /System/Library/Extensions/comcy_driver_USBDevice.kext
+was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it or contact product's vendor for update+
Sometimes, the download hangs and is unable to complete. The main problem I've encountered so far with an application is when I use the printer to scan an image via Preview, it's blank: there's nothing there. -
Problem with ssh and bash-completion
I and a co-worker are having a weird problem with ssh and bash-completion. We have a local config in .ssh/config with hosts we connect everyday. An example:
host foo
hostname foo.org
user foobar
host foobar
hostname foobar.org
user foobar
When we try to type
ssh foo<tab><tab>b<tab>
the console just freeze and we can't type anything, everything we type is ignored, but after about 30 seconds the host is completed.
This works a some time ago, so some upgrade make this happen. Anyone can reproduce this?quigybo wrote:
Actually thinking about it, rather than using the semi-dodgy fix posted on the bug tracker, we can just test if the daemon is running since we are not on MacOS X. It is cleaner and 250 ms quicker.
