Problem with parameter and sql query

I've a problem with te query of my report. The query is:
SELECT [DESCRIPTN]
      ,[LOGTIME]
      ,[STATUS]
      ,[CARDNO]
      ,[LOGDATE]
FROM [Granta5P0].[dbo].[TIMELOG32]
where cardno in ({?cardNo})
the parameter as multiple values checked so I can query for more than one card.
If i put just one parameter everything works fine but when I put 2 or more I have his error
[http://www.megagaleria.com/pictures/Pic_10074_25.jpg]
I realized that the field as no ' delimiting the parameters, I have a function that already does it but I don't know how to put it in my sql command.
If anyone can help I appreciate

Yes, because your parameter is only looking for one card.
where cardno in ({?cardNo})
Will you only be creating querys on two cards or less ?
Are you trying to create an Array?
If two or less you could
where cardno = ({?cardNo}) or cardno = ({?cardNo2})

  • Hi! Everyone, I have some problems with JOIN and Sub-query; Could you help me, Please?

    Dear Sir/Madam

    I have some problems with JOIN and Sub-query.
    I hope so many of you could help me.
    if i use JOIN without sub-query, may it be faster or not?
    SELECT field1, field2 FROM tableA INNER JOIN tableB

    SELECT field1,field2,field3 FROM tableA INNER JOIN (SELECT field1,field2 FROM tableB)

    As the others have said, the execution plan will give you a better idea about which is faster.
    If you're trying to see how using (or not using) a sub-query affects performance, make the rest of the queries as similar as possible.  For example, include field3 in both queries, or ignore field3 in both queries.
    In this particular case, I guess the optimizer would do the same thing either way, but that's just a guess.  I can't see your execution plans.
    In general, simpler code is faster, and better in other ways, too.  In this case
    tableB
    is simpler than
    (SELECT field1, field2  FROM tableB)
    Why do you want a sub-query in this example?

  • A problem with LOV and my query. Help to solve, please...

    Hello!
    Here is a query:
    SELECT FULLNAME||', '||(SELECT NAMEOFGROUP||', '||(SELECT CITY FROM CITY WHERE PRKEY=TLL.CITY) FROM GROUPS TLL WHERE PRKEY=TL.GROUPOF) t ,PRKEY r FROM MINEUSERS TL
    In SQL DEVELOPER it works fine. But in APEX - when I try to save my "SELECT LIST" - it falls with error - "If your query contains an in-line query, the first FROM clause in the SQL statement must not belong to the in-line query."
    How can I reassemble my query to fix this problem - I have no idea... :(
    Thanks

    You may create a pipelined function returning two values, display and return, to return
    the result from your query. After that, your LOV should work. See example here:

  • Problems with java and SQL

    Hi all. Not sure if I should ask this here or in an SQL forum. Im trying to manipulate an access database through java via the JDBC-ODBC bridge driver. The program compiles ok but when I try to execute it I get an error. According to the error there is a syntax problem in my SQL create table statement but it doesnt tell what the problem is and Ive looked over the create statement and cant find anything wrong with it. There is, however, an error code from the driver but I have no way of referencing it. • Problem with DBMS_OUTPUT and SQL statment with a function

    I am using SQL Developer version 3.0.04 and I have a function that has a dbms_output statment in it. I am running the following SQL to select the output of that statment.
    select A.A_FUCTION('TEST') from dual;
    The output works fine but the dbms_output line does not show in the dbms_output window. I turned on the output window etc. and i can get the select to print out the output if i wrap it in a declare begin end wrapper... and then change the query to insert the return value into variable.
    just wondering if there is way to get the dbms_output to flush out with just an SQL statment instead of in a begin end wrapper etc.

    just wondering if there is way to get the dbms_output to flush out with just an SQL statment instead of in a begin end wrapper etc.works fine in sql*plus, so I guess it must be a preference or sth. in sql*developer:

  • [Solved] Problem with LOV and 'enter query' mode

    Hi all,
    I'm kind of new to Forms and I'm having some problems that I'm not being able to resolve. I already search it on the net, but nothing relevant came up. If anyone could help me I appreciated it.
    In my form I have some fields, and in one of them I have a LOV, and almost everything works fine. I inserted data, changed it, deleted it and all it's ok.
    But when I change to 'enter query' mode, when I try to search for data on the LOV field it ignores what I write.
    That is, for it, it's the same if I make F11 -> write 'aaaa' -> ctrl + F11 or if I make F11 -> '%' -> ctrl + F11.
    It behaves the same way, shows me all the records.
    Probably I'm missing something basic, but I'm not getting it...
    Thanks,
    Ana

    when you create a lov by wizard the lov and record group have always the same name..
    the problem is that the item is NOT based in the tabe.
    what kind of query do you execute if you choose something from a love which is not based on the db?
    i mean, this item has no influence on the query of the table, so whatever you choose it's like a "select * from table"
    i hope i was clear

  • Jsf and putting parameter in sql query

    Hey,I have a database,and I want for the selected checkboxes that a user checks,to get their Ids from the database.I am assuming that I need a query something like this: SELECT person.Id FROM person WHERE person.Id=?. I am using NetBeans for my project.My questions are
    1.How do I make the query?Do I use a string with the above value, and then I ask it where?
    2.How do I say that the parameter ? would be the Ids of the selected checkboxes?
    3.Is there anything else I have to add in the query to make it right?A while function maybe?
    Sorry for the question but I am new in the business!

    1) This question has nothing to do with JSF at all. Are you familair with JDBC and SQL? If not, start reading tutorials/books about that.
    2) You can obtain the selected values in the JSF backing bean and pass it through to a DAO class which should obtain data from the DB.
    3) Just some background knowledge and understanding.

  • Problem with v and w in a cube

    Hi,
    I have problem with 'v' and 'w' in an Analysis Services cube (SQL Server 2008R2).
    The example is employee number 'frvi' and 'frwi'. The cube summarize both employee's measures to employee number 'frvi'. And does not show the employee number 'frwi'. When I make a sql query in the source db it works fine.
    The collation for Analysis Services is Finnish_Swedish, and for the source db Finnish_Swedish_Cl_AS. Is it a problem with the collation?
    I hope I'll get help here!
    //Anna-Karin

    Hi,
    Thank you for your answer.
    I read now somewhere that w became a letter of it's own in the Swedish language in year 2006. That I did not know. The question is how it is handled in the different collations. I have googled a lot today about this, but have not found anything.
    Do you know if you can change the collation in a cube afterwards, and how you do it?
    It is correct - when I run a query i management studio, it gives me values for both frwi and frvi. But in the cube the values are summarized to employee frvi.
    Best regards Anna-Karin

  • Problems with RAC and XA: Fallback

    Hello,
    we are seing problems with RAC and XA (Tuxedo 11, DB 11.2), specifically encountering "ORA-24798: cannot resume the distributed transaction branch on another instance".
    The first scenario relates to fallback after a RAC node failure. There are two servers, S1 and S2. S1 makes an ATMI call to S2. Both servers are in the same Tuxedo group, using TMS_ORA. RAC is set up for failover (BASIC), no load balancing.
    The sequence is:
    - S1 and S2 are connected to the same RAC node n1. All is well.
    - RAC node n1 fails. S1, S2 and the TMS_ORA all fail over to RAC node n2. After the failover has happened, all is well.
    - RAC node n1 recovers. All is still well (as there is no automatic fallback).
    - S1 (or S2) is restarted (either intentionally or because of a crash). Since n1 is up again, S1 connects to n1. Now we get ORA-24798. Permanently.
    S1 is connected to n1 and S2 is connected to n2. Since both are in the same group, both use the same XA transaction branch. When called, S2 attempts to JOIN the transaction branch that S1 started. But the DB (11.2) does not allow the same branch to span more than one node. Hence the ORA-24798.
    This seems to be a severe limitation in the combination of Tuxedo, XA and RAC. It basically means we still have to use DTP services, even with Tuxedo 11 and DB 11.2. Or are we missing something?
    We could put S1 and S2 into different groups, but that seems to be inefficient, and not practical for a real application (10s of servers).
    I am extrapolating from this that RAC load balancing would also not work, as S1 and S2 could be connected to different RAC nodes.
    Roger

    Roger,
    When using an external transaction manager such as Tuxedo you should still declare Oracle services as DTP services when using Oracle Database 11g. The Tuxedo documentation is not clear about this. The relevant 11gR2 RAC documentation is at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/rac.112/e16795/hafeats.htm and states
    "An XA transaction can span Oracle RAC instances by default, allowing any application that uses the Oracle XA library to take full advantage of the Oracle RAC environment to enhance the availability and scalability of the application.
    "GTXn background processes support global (XA) transactions in an Oracle RAC environment. The GLOBAL_TXN_PROCESSES initialization parameter, which is set to 1 by default, specifies the initial number of GTXn background processes for each Oracle RAC instance. Use the default value for this parameter clusterwide to allow distributed transactions to span multiple Oracle RAC instances. Using the default value allows the units of work performed across these Oracle RAC instances to share resources and act as a single transaction (that is, the units of work are tightly coupled). It also allows 2PC requests to be sent to any node in the cluster.
    "Before Release 11.1, the way to achieve tight coupling in Oracle RAC was to use Distributed Transaction Processing (DTP) services, that is, services whose cardinality (one) ensured that all tightly-coupled branches landed on the same instance—regardless of whether load balancing was enabled. Tightly coupled XA transactions no longer require the special type of singleton services to be deployed on Oracle RAC databases if the XA application does not join or resume XA transaction branches. XA transactions are transparently supported on Oracle RAC databases with any type of service configuration.
    A"n external transaction manager, such as Oracle Services for Microsoft Transaction Server (OraMTS), coordinates DTP/XA transactions. However, an internal Oracle transaction manager coordinates distributed SQL transactions. Both DTP/XA and distributed SQL transactions must use the DTP service in Oracle RAC."
    This issue came up earlier this year in another newsgroup thread at https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2165803

  • With clause in SQL query data model

    Hello!
    isn't it possible to use the with clause in sql query data models?
    for example following query:

    select *
    from a_test
    brings up a "XML Parsing Error: no element found"-error...

    WITH

    This works as well.. retrieving the value of the parameter

  • Modes and Methods in Tag Query and SQL Query

    Hi,
    Can someone explain me about the modes available in <b>TAG Query and SQL Query.</b>
    TAG Query has modes such as <b>Current, CurrentWrite, GroupList, History, HistoryEvent, ModeList, Statistics and TagList</b>
    SQL Query i still have doubt on <b>FixedQuery with output , Modelist and TableList</b>
    I also need to know why methods are used?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Muzammil

    I'll try to  explain to the best of my knowledge :
    <u><b>TagQuery</b></u>
    <b>Current</b> : Gives you the current value of the Tag you are reading.
    <b>CurrentWrite</b> : Let you write a Value as the Current Value of the Tag.
    <b>GroupList</b> : Generally Tags are grouped under different groups. Returns you the name of the Groups.
    <b>From the xMII Help Document :</b>
    <b>History</b> : History Mode returns interpolated data.  Interpolation can be accomplished by specifying either the # of rows desired or the retrieval resolution.  If the mode is "History" and a value is provided for the Resolution parameter (which is in seconds), the connector will retrieve evenly-spaced values starting at the beginning of the time interval, up to the maximum # of rows specified in the RowCount parameter.  If no value is provided for the Resolution parameter, the connector will return an evenly-spaced number of values based on the value of the RowCount parameter.
    For example, if the time interval is 1 hour, Resolution is 15, and RowCount is 240, the connector will return evenly spaced values each 15 seconds, up to 240 values (which would span the entire hour).
    If the time interval is 1 hour, Resolution is not provided or is set to zero, and RowCount is 120, the connector would return 120 evenly spaced values, at an effective interval of 30 seconds.
    <b>HistoryEvent Mode</b> : The connector can provide historical values "as they were stored" the database.  This mode provides no interpolation of values.
    <b>Statistics Mode</b> : When retrieving data for statistical calculations, the connector utilizes the same techniques as in the "HistoryEvent"  mode.  It is important to note that the first two returning columns in the HistoryEvent query must be the timestamp and the value, in that order.  The SAP xMII Statistical processor expects that order, or errors will occur.  This ensures precision of statistical measurements, particularly time-weighted average, by using the exact storage time and values from the historical database.  The SAP xMII system provides the statistical calculations.
    <b>Modelist</b> : Basically returns the modes of the Query Available. The Data returned is same as the data in the Modes list in the Quert Template Editor.
    <b>Taglist</b> : Returns all the Tags in the Datasource.
    <u><b>SQL Query</b></u>
    <b>Modelist</b> : Same as above.
    <b>TableList</b> : List of all the tables in the database to which the connector connects.
    Again from SAP xMII Help Documentation :
    <b>FixedQueryWithOutput</b> : This mode is used to execute an Oracle stored procedure or function that returns a REF CURSOR as output.  The position of the REF CURSOR is marked by a "?" in the query.  For example:
    <b>Create a table.</b>
    <i>create table usage (id int, name varchar(50));
    insert into usage (id, name) values (1, 'test1');
    insert into usage (id, name) values (2, 'test2');
    insert into usage (id, name) values (3, 'test3');
    insert into usage (id, name) values (4, 'test4');
    insert into usage (id, name) values (5, 'test5');
    insert into usage (id, name) values (6, 'test6');
    insert into usage (id, name) values (7, 'test7');
    insert into usage (id, name) values (8, 'test8');</i>
    <b>Define the stored procedure.</b>
    <i>DROP PACKAGE foopkg;
    CREATE PACKAGE foopkg IS
      TYPE cursortype is ref cursor;
      PROCEDURE test (mycursor in out cursortype);
    END foopkg;
    CREATE PACKAGE BODY foopkg IS
      PROCEDURE test (mycursor in out cursortype) AS
      BEGIN
         open mycursor for select * from usage;
      END;
    END foopkg;
    </i>
    Define a query template for calling the stored procedure.  Enter the following in the FixedQuery tab:
    <b>call foopkg.test(?)</b>
    This template returns all rows from the Usage table.

    &c_source_from and &c_from_cat formula column and there are defined at report level only ......
    pl/sql code &c_source_from is
    function C_source_fromFormula return VARCHAR2 is
    begin
    if :P_source_type_id = 2 then return(',MTL_SALES_ORDERS mkts');
    else if :P_source_type_id = 3 then return(',GL_CODE_COMBINATIONS gl');
    else if :P_source_type_id = 6 then return(',MTL_GENERIC_DISPOSITIONS mdsp');
    else if :P_source_type_id = 5 then
         if :C_source_where is null then
              return NULL;
         else
              return(',WIP_ENTITIES wip');
         end if;
    else if :P_source_type_id = 8 then return(',MTL_SALES_ORDERS mkts');
    else if :P_source_type_id is null then
    return(',MTL_SALES_ORDERS      mkts,
    MTL_GENERIC_DISPOSITIONS mdsp,

  • Problem with trigger and entity in JHeadsart, JBO-25019

    Hi to all,
    I am using JDeveloper 10.1.2 and developing an application using ADF Business Components and JheadStart 10.1.2.27
    I have a problem with trigger and entity in JHeadsart
    I have 3 entity and 3 views
    DsitTelephoneView based on DsitTelephone entity based on DSIT_TELEPHONE database table.
    TelUoView based on TelUo entity based on TEL_UO database table.
    NewAnnuaireView based on NewAnnuaire entity based on NEW_ANNUAIRE database view.
    I am using JHS to create :
    A JHS table-form based on DsitTelephoneView
    A JHS table based on TelUoView
    A JHS table based on NewAnnuaireView
    LIB_POSTE is a :
    DSIT_TELEPHONE column
    TEL_UO column
    NEW_ANNUAIRE column
    NEW_ANNUAIRE database view is built from DSIT_TELEPHONE database table.
    Lib_poste is an updatable attribut in TelUo entity, DsitTelephone entity, NewAnnuaire entity.
    Lib_poste is upadated in JHS table based on TelUoView
    I added a trigger on my database shema « IAN » to upadate LIB_POSTE in DSIT_TELEPHONE database table :
    CREATE OR REPLACES TRIGGER “IAN”.TEL_UO_UPDATE_LIB_POSTE
    AFTER INSERT OR UPDATE OFF lib_poste ONE IAN.TEL_UO
    FOR EACH ROW
    BEGIN
    UPDATE DSIT_TELEPHONE T
    SET t.lib_poste = :new.lib_poste
    WHERE t.id_tel = :new.id_tel;
    END;
    When I change the lib_poste with the application :
    - the lib_poste in DSIT_TELEPHONE database table is correctly updated by trigger.
    - but in JHS table-form based on DsitTelephoneView the lib_poste is not updated. If I do a quicksearch it is updated.
    - in JHS table based on NewAnnuaireView the lib_poste is not updated. if I do a quicksearch, I have an error:
    oracle.jbo.RowAlreadyDeletedException: JBO-25019: The row of entity of the key oracle.jbo. Key [null 25588] is not found in NewAnnuaire.
    25588 is the primary key off row in NEW_ANNUAIRE whose lib_poste was updated by the trigger.
    It is as if it had lost the bond with the row in the entity.
    Could you help me please ?
    Regards
    Laurent

    The following example should help.
    SQL> create sequence workorders_seq
      2  start with 1
      3  increment by 1
      4  nocycle
      5  nocache;
    Sequence created.
    SQL> create table workorders(workorder_id number,
      2  description varchar2(30),
      3   created_date date default sysdate);
    Table created.
    SQL> CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER TIMESTAMP_CREATED
      2  BEFORE INSERT ON workorders
      3  FOR EACH ROW
      4  BEGIN
      5  SELECT workorders_seq.nextval
      6    INTO :new.workorder_id
      7    FROM dual;
      8  END;
      9  /
    Trigger created.
    SQL> ALTER SESSION SET NLS_DATE_FORMAT = 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS';
    Session altered.
    SQL> insert into workorders(description) values('test1');
    1 row created.
    SQL> insert into workorders(description) values('test2');
    1 row created.
    SQL> select * from workorders;
    WORKORDER_ID DESCRIPTION                    CREATED_DATE
               1 test1                          30-NOV-2004 15:30:34
