Problem with phone body

I am having Blackberry Curve 8520 and I am happy with the phone functions. But seems the body of the phone is not that good. Lot of buttons at the edge related to mute button, camera, volume increase/decrease have come off. Seems a low quality material used.
I hope someone from the company help resolving this. Its a very bad user experience

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Given what you've said, I'd like to set your expectations as to responses you can expect to your post here. As a user-to-user community, no one here can answer your question with any level of authority whatsoever. RIM provides zero front line support to end users, including warranty...all support starts with the carriers, authorized resellers, and authorized service centers, all who can escalate cases into RIM at no charge to the end user. Further, this site is not a channel for any formal communications with, escalations to, nor support from RIM for anything whatsoever.
So, your support path is not here, in these forums. Rather, it is through your place of purchase or authorized service center...you have no free path by which to bypass them. If you remain under warranty, then you should be seeking support via that channel.
There is something called incident support, but it costs to just ask the initial question, since you are bypassing the contract you signed upon purchase. If you wish to investigate that, you can review it here:

There also might be some good reading here:

  • My iPhone 5 is connected to Wi-Fi but cannot load Safari, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Is this because of iOS7 craze or problem with phone itself?

I have an iPhone 5 with Sprint. The problem started yesterday when the iOS7 update was available for download. My phone shows that I am connected to our Wi-Fi but Safari pages won't load, apps will not open, and social site's newsfeeds wont update. If I turn off then turn on the Wi-FI, it will work for a few seconds but then lose connection. Same thing happens if I turn on/off the phone and if I switch it to airplane mode and back. We have televisions that work with Wi-Fi and they seem to be doing just fine. Is there anyone else experiencing this? Is it happenig because of the iOS 7 update craze or does it sound like a problem with the phone itself? PLEASE HELP.

try resetting your phone by turning it off and back on again. Also try resetting your network settings under Settings > General > Reset >reset Network Settings.

  • Problem with phone line

    Hi there,
I have been having problems with my phone line since May. The line is fine until one day I will pick up to make a call and there will be no dial tone. The tones on the keypad make a noise but the call doesn't happen. No one can get hold of me on my landline. When I get my son to do a line check the phone works again for a few days and then the problem starts again. This has all started since I got broadband. I have had two visits from engineers, the last one being Friday 20th August. That engineer told me he couldn't understand what was happening, he thought it might be the old underground cables and they couldn't cope with the broadband. I have the same issue again and am at my wits end. What should I do next?

    Hi Coomrith and welcome
Did the engineer say whether he was going to escalate this?

  • Problems with Phone Volume (Ringtone) with iPhone 3G and v20

It seems with then new iPhone 3G and/or version 2.0 that everytime my phone either is turned off or sleep mode activated, it always resets my phone volume to about 50%. I always have to manually turn the ringer volume up each time. Ive restored the phone and it continues to do so. Any thoughts?????

I have had a similar problem with my original iPhone and have not yet figures out how to fix it.

  • Having problems with phone getting too hot when not in use

Hi there -- I'm trying to figure out what I can do to fix this.  Recently I had to get a replacement S3 because my original shut off mid-use and wouldn't turn back on.  The replacement has been here for about a month and in the last 2 weeks I'm having issues with it getting too hot.  The first time it happened, I had it plugged into the stock charger for about 1 1/2 hours - and I had picked it up expecting it to be fully charged but it was extremely hot and had a warning on the main screen saying that the battery was critically hot and was not charging and the phone was nearly completely dead.  I unplugged it, took the battery out and let the main phone body cool down.  After about 15 minutes, the body felt like room temperature again, so I put it all back together.  It turned on, charged normally that night and all was well.
Now for the last several days, I'm having issues again with it getting hot at random times when I'm not even using it (and not charging it).  The last time, I downloaded a temperature app and it said the phone was nearly 105 degrees, and it felt the hottest right at the home button.  Later that night after it cooled down, I noticed that the battery wasn't charging at all and was depleting rapidly on the charger.  I restarted twice with no change and then took the battery out and let it sit for several minutes.  After that it began charging again.
With it getting hot so much more often now, I'm starting to worry about this happening when I need my phone for an emergency as I spend a lot of time on the road transporting my kids to school and activities.  Is there a fix for this?  It doesn't appear to be the battery because my husband and I have the same phone and I've already swapped batteries with him - same issue for me, no issue for him.  Please help?  Thanks!

Hello Micheliu813, let's get to the bottom of this together! Are you using the same charger that came with the phone or a 3rd party charger? We can also test the phone in safe mode to see if the device heats up again. Check here for steps: http://vz.to/1kb9LUM

  • Problem with phone

I have a problem with my I phone usually have cannot hear clearly the person calling me,what should i do about it?

Well unless you are planning on taking some once in a lifetime kind of picture then it may be a flaw you are willing to deal with. Like I said some people have been experience very random things with the upgrade. None of them seem consistent to me and vary from user to user. Seeings how it is late on a Sunday night and you and I seem to be the only ones around, hopefully tomorrow someone may have another suggestion. I myself have ATT and have not upgraded because of all the weird things I have been hearing about.

  • Problems with phone and tablet version and presentation images

    hello,
us to explain the problems encountered with Adobe Muse
pointing out That We Already have published a website designed with Adobe Muse, about two months ago, without finding any kind of problem, for this reason we believe That the problem does not depend on us
    1. the site properly sets in three versions (desktop, tablet and phone) and visible only in the desktop version Also from smartphones and tablets.
    2. all photos included in the 'presentations' or galleries poprie the program does not display it in local preview it after publication.
note: we use the exported files in html and uploaded in our domain
you can redraw the program to see if the update was performed to Muse DC Correctly or use the old version Which at least gave no problems with image galleries?
    thanks greetings

The problem I am having is this: The phone and message portion of my palm stopped working. I called my provider and they told me I needed a new sim card. I got a new one and put it in and still experienced the problem. It was a complete stoppage. I could call one out of 10 tries and a message or two came through but late. I then called Palm and they walked me through a hard reset and the phone started working, ...but only for the evening. Now again it is at the same place. I have hard reset it several times and occasionally it will work once or twice after that. ....

  • Problem with phone line after installation of BT I...

    Hi,
After persuading my dad (86) to switch from aol to BT infinity he is still without a working phone line.  The phone line worked perfectly before switching to BT.  Bt infinity was installed 5 weeks ago and ever since then his phone line developes a loud buzzing noice then breaks up completely after about 1-2 minutes into a call.  Has been reported to BT several times, 4 BT engineers have been out to try and fix the problem without any success.  We do not seem to be getting anywhere with BT and do not know what to do next.
Any help/advice would be gratefully received.

  • Major Problem with Phone Line and Support.

Well my problem started about a month and week ago. The problem is that my phone line is messed up. My line drops out unexpectedly and I cant receive calls or send calls. If it does work then the phone only rings for half a second 3 times. If you dont pick it up mostly on the first ring you cant answer the call. And if it doesnt the caller who calls me gets a verizon voice message thing that is setup for the previous owner of the phone number. We called verizon a month ago and setup a appointment for the 18th. Well they called the 17th and said they were sorry they missed us for the appointment on the 17th. We told them it was on the 18th and they said that they guess they forgot to call to tell us the date was changed to the 17th. So they said they will have someone out the next day, on the 18th. We waited at home and they still didnt show up. We called and they set a appointment on the 28th. We waited and they never came again. Now its the 30th and its getting rediculous. We refuse to pay for a service that will never be fixed and we cant use but for 1/3 of the time, if lucky. Is there any fix to this other than getting another appointment?

It sounds to me like your phone line has a short somewhere.  If it was a "hard short", your phone wouldn't work at all.  But yours rings, and then shorts out.  Could be a wiring issue, or it could be a phone issue.  I would unplug all equipment (phones, faxes, computers, etc).  Then take one good phone to a jack and plug it in.  See if the problem still exists.  If it is still a problem, try a different phone at that same jack.  If it's cleared, the problem is with the first phone, if it's still there, unplug the phone and try a different jack.  If the problem cleared, the trbl is at the first jack.  If it's still there, then you either have a short somewhere inside your home wiring, OR the phone number MIGHT BE FORWARDING to another number (which would explain the strange message that callers receive).  Find out how to remove call forwarding in your area (usually by hitting *73 on your phone).  Please post results.

  • N95 problem with phone memory and backup.

My phone is saying that I have 1870 MB of messages on the phone memory (which can't be true), and it is refusing to back up on the memory card, which I guess is because of this problem as it thinks there's not enough space on the card.
Anyone know what could cause this problem?
    Thanks for your help.
    T-mobile please give us v.20 N95 software.

Hmm, well I'm stumped. If it's within warranty perhaps contact the supplier and accept they'll probably lose your data. I can't be any more helpful I'm afraid, especially as I'm a user and not an actual Nokia technician.
All I can suggest given the extra info you've provided, is to buy a card that can hold the imaginery 1870MB's and change the message storage settings? Alternatively look at the phone via PC suite which makes some files and folders visible on the phone memory (called 'C' drive). Prod around there may be, with research you may find the file that collects that info, delete it and the phone 'may' replace it with the corect values?
I'd be interested to know of the real solution.

  • Problem with phone layout when I insert the Accordion widget ( since iOS8 )

    Hello,
The problem appears after I insert the Accordion widget. The phone scales down the entire site, and there are no "lost" or hidden objects in the project. ( screenshot attached ) . This layout worked well before the second October Muse update.
I have tried a totally new basic website and had the same problem. The accordion takes the screen width.  I have tried to make it smaller then the phone layout, but it remains small.

  • Problem with phone line after moving flats

I have moved to a new flats 3 months ago.  We transferred our BT line (BT is our phone and internet provider) to our new flat, internet works fine, but the phone line doesn't! We are not able to call anyone, or receive any calls. Is it something we can do to fix it on our own or should we call an engineer? Will it cost us anything if we call a BT engineer?
