Problem with Progress DB at sender side

Hello,
We are facing some problem when we are trying to connect to Progress DB using JDBC adapter at sender side.
The error is,
" Accessing database connection 'jdbc:jdbcprogress:T:156.5.31.65:2545:/mfgprodev/devbadb/devsche/i_apoext' failed: com.sap.aii.adapter.jdbc.sql.DriverManagerException: Unable to locate a suitable JDBC driver to establish a connection to URL 'jdbc:jdbcprogress:T:156.5.31.65:2545:/mfgprodev/devbadb/devsche/i_apoext' "
We have checked all the possibilities like,
In Visual Admin we checked all the services like,
ClassLoader Viewer , JDBC Connector , Log Configurator etc for all the required libraries...
They all are present. basically for Progress DB the required jars are like,
messages.jar , progress.jar, jdbc.jar.
All of them are present in the all the services in side Visual Admin.
I even checked in the JDBC connector by running the query on the Progress DB. It was working properly.
So now i left with no options to check the options. Cna you please help me in solving this issue as we are running out of time.
Thanks,
Soorya

Hi surya venkat,
It seems you are not installed Progress DB Driver properly into XI server.
correct your Driver URL like this.
jdbc:oracle:thin:@<hostname>:<port>:<SID>
// @machineName:port:SID
To download drivers for Oracle DB,
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/index.html
If you want to install Oracle 9i,. OJDBC14.jar should be used. Just check this note 831162.
Also, check this PDF to install Drivers in XI,

• Problem with Polling interval at sender side in JDBC adapter

Hello,
I have some problem in investigating one serious issue using this polling interval,
I am using the sender JDBC adapter where i used polling interval as
60(in secs) and 1(in Msecs).
So it comes upto 60.001 secs of polling interval.
There are nearly lots of threads which are in sleeping state on one particular sender channel making the J2EE hang. When i went to look inside the CPA cache i saw that the polling interval was mentioned as only 1Msec rather than 60.001 Secs because of which with in some seconds all the threads are blocked and J2EE hangs due to lack of threads.
Can you please provide some solution to this problem as soon as possible?
Here are few questions which i got when i am doing this process,
1. Is that the polling interval is sum of 60(secs) and 1(msec)?
2. Which value is been read either secs or msecs?
3. Will there be any precedence among those two values(secs and msecs)?
THanks,
Soorya

Poll Interval (secs)
Number of seconds that the adapter must wait if no files are found for processing.
● Poll Interval (msecs)
Additional waiting time in milliseconds.
If you set Poll Interval (secs) to null, processing times will be short and close to real time.
If you set Poll Interval (secs) and Poll Interval (msecs) to null, the adapter is only called once.
● Retry Interval (secs)
Specify the number of seconds that the adapter is to wait before a file processed with errors is processed again.
If the value is set to null, then the adapter is canceled if an error occurs, even if a value greater than null is specified for Poll Interval (secs).

I'm using Lion on an MBP and Numbers is the latest version

May you give more details about what is wrong with your dates ?
M…oSoft products aren't allowed on my machines but I use LibreOffice which is a clone of Office.
When I export from Numbers to Excel and open the result with LibreOffice, the dates are correctly treated.
To be precise, dates after 01/01/1904 are correctly treated. dates before 01/01/1904 are exported as strings but, as it's flagged during the export process, it's not surprising.

Hi,
To access any database fromm XI, using the JDBC adapter, the corresponding drivers have to be installed on the XI server.
Just check this note 831162.

Hi Chhayank,
the problem is not the exported xls. If you have a look inside with Notepad or something like that, you will see that your leading zeros are exported correct.Excel-settings occurs this problem, it is all about how to open the document. If you use the import-assistant you will have no problems because there are options available how to handle the different columns.
Another solution might be to get familiar with ABAP2XLS-Project. I got in my mind, that there is a method implemented, that will help you solving this problem. But that is not a five minute job

• Strange Problem with File Content Conversion (Sender)

Hi,
I have a strange problem. I have a sender file adapter with content conversion (csv -> xml). The adapter produces the following error during the processing...
- 2006-02-06 16:34:00 CET: Error: Conversion of part of file content of 'OE_Extractor_47_ISW112_SC-Ireland.csv' to XML format failed around position 1202: IOException: Stream closed
After the 4th or 5th try the adapter processes the file correctly.
Why does it works after several tries and not at the first time? (The file is not changed during the adapter is trying to convert it)
Thanks

• See Below. I have a problem with receiving email. Sending is ok. This is for my Thunderbird email account.

"An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 5.1.1 <[email protected]>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table. Please check the message recipient [email protected] and try again."

''I have a problem with receiving email.''
''An error occurred while sending mail.''
Who is right here?
''This is for my Thunderbird email account.''
There is no such thing as a 'Thunderbird email account'. Thunderbird is an email client, and you use it to retrieve mail from an account you created with your email provider.

• Problem with showModalDialog whenever server sends a new session cookie

Hi,
In our application we display a pdf to the user in a modal dialog whenever he clicks on the view button. We use siteminder for authentication.
Only on certain machines we sporadically get a blank modal dialog instead of the pdf. I used HttpAnalyzer to check on the HTTP requests and response. I found that whenever in case of a call to DisplayPDFServlet(see the code below to understand the calls) the siteminder does a "Set-Cookie" in the response, I get a blank modal dialog and the Response content is empty.
I tried to match my IE setting with the machines which do not have this problem, but it has been of no use.
The view action is handled in the code as follows:
1. Call a struts action class which fetches the pdf and puts it in session.
2. In the jsp to which the control is now directed to, we have an object tag wherein the value is a call to a servlet which gets the pdf from the session and writes it to the outputstream
Object tag in the jsp:

Hi
I tried appending a "\n" to the end of the string, this didn't work. But, it seemed that using out.println(text) instead of out.print(text) when sending the message through the socket solved the problem.
Thanks a lot for the tip!

• Problems with charset encoding using sender JMS channel

Hi all,
We are connecting an AS400/WebSphere, with SAP via XI (PI7.0), by means of JMS adapter.
Situation: we are sending a message through a JMS sender channel from WebSphere to XI.
The problem occurs if the message has special characters (like client name). The contents of the XI message became wrong on those characters (they are replaced by '#'), sending invalid information to SAP.
The character set CCSID of the WebSphere is 00037.
Can anyone help me on overcoming this problem?
thanks in advance.

thanks Stefan,
>> What kind of mapping do you use?
We are using a graphical mapping that maps the incoming message to an IDOC message definiton.
>> Is the payload wrong after the mapping?
The mapping ends with success and the payload is well formated, but the content of the final message is wrong (just on the special chars) (ex: the ã is replaced by #).
>> Where do you send that message to?
The message is an IDoc that is send to SAP:

• Problem with PDF file in a side by side format?

I have a pdf file that I need to read like a book on a website. It is 12 pages so I want p1 separate then 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, etc. I was able to accomplish this HOWEVER I needed the recipient to be able to download & upload this file to their website. As a test I emailed this to a family member, when they downloaded the file, they were able to view this document side by side in Acrobat. So I emailed the pdf to the web master and they tell me when they tried to do this on their end, the file is not side by side, it is only scrolling up and down. So my question is how do I get the recipient (web master) to be able to put my file on their website in the "book" side by side format?

The term "book" needs some nit-picking/clarification/discussion.
If we assume book & your pdf document are synonymous than -
With you initial view settings set the recipient will open the document as described, if they are opening the document in Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
Their local Preference for "Restore last view settings..." does become a concern. (They should clear the option as necessary)
FaithfulHound wrote:
I should mention they do have other doc's on their site in book format so I am just very confused why they can't see mine in the same way?
View the other documents. Are they pdf? Check those documents (File > Properties) to discern what settings they have used. (Initial view also allows page scaling).
The term "book" needs some nit-picking/clarification/discussion.
"Books" on the web could mean a variety of formats.
I have a pdf book hosted this week. I spent a good deal of time creating perhaps 100 live bookmarks within the document, verified that the document opens with the Bookmarks pane viewable and navigates properly in Adobe software.
Upon providing this to the client he decides to view on a hand held device (doesn't quite now how or what viewer his device use using), send back & forth to his web guy, they decide this is great, but I don't think they ever saw the bookmarks panel I included. Additionally, one the first page I included the phrase "Best viewed with Adobe Reader/Adobe Acrobat" They asked me to remove that - they thought (correctly) that their smartphones opened the document faster.
Point being - you have NO control on how the documents will be viewed. Local settings (document application handling/default viewers) for recipients are to varied and cannot be controlled.

Hi Shabarish,
I found a sinple solution:
File adapter picks up file from external drive
Receiver adapter saves it on XI server directory
We21 can pick up now from here!
But, next problem:
When trying to save the file port in We21 (like described in the guide) I get a message: Port incomplete, not possible to save! (mess. is green -> information).
But I cannot save the port. What is wrong?
Hm, possibly reason was that inbound and outbound file name was the same! Now its OK! Port is created!

• Problems with Macbook Pro, Outlook sending mail, Comcast ISP

I have read several threads, but don't have a solution that works for me as of yet. I am new to the Apple community, and have a Macbook Pro using OS-X and Mavericks updates. I also use Outlook for the MAC, but this problem occurs with Apple Mail as well. I use Comcast as my home ISP. I can send and receive email while at work with no problems. At home, I can receive with no difficulty but cannot send. My work email is a POP account. I have tried overriding the outgoing server (default port 25) with ports 465 and 587, with SSL set and not set, yet I continue to get authorization or server not identified errors. I can sign in to the same webmail account through Safari with no issues on the same computer and using the same ISP, but I cannot find a way to configure either Apple mail or Outlook to send!
I've been to the Apple Genius bar and on one occasion they were able to send email, but when I got home to my Comcast ISP, that ceased working. Everything still is perfect at work, but nowhere else. Any other information needed so that I can get some help?

when I got home to my Comcast ISP, that ceased working.
If you have not already done so, call Comcast tech support and/or post in their "Mac" forums. You need to confirm that the problem is not on their end. If you call, ask to speak w/someone in tier 3 tech support for Macs.
