Problem with Restore Database.

Hi, I work with Oracle 10g XE archivelog mode and use the second partition of my hard drive for backups, the path is: D:\Oracle Database 10g Express Edition \ Backup.
I formatted the first partition of my hard drive where it was installed my XE, now I have reinstalled my XE and I have set archivelog mode and I changed the path to the path Flashback: D: Oracle Database 10g Express Edition \ Backup, but if I make a backup, RMAN asks me the path to the back, the entry route and displays the error:
Route D:\Oracle Database 10g Express Edition \ Backup
The path is incorrect.
Help me please.
Roberto.

Use short 8.3 filenames. To get them make: start|run|command.com and place "dir" in that directory where backup is located. Use that names in script.
P.S.
As adviced use path with no blanks or special signs...

    Hi,
    You need to install SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 2
    Download
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=11093, you are currently running the RTM and the backup was from Version 10.50.4000 and your attempting to restore to version 10.00.1600.
    To find your current SQL Version open a New Query and paste the following then execute
    SELECT @@VERSION AS 'SQL Server Version

  • Problems with DUPLICATE DATABASE when datafile was added after full backup

    Hi,
    I'm facing a problem when performing database duplication with the RMAN duplicate database command on a 10g database. If I preform the duplication from a full backup that is missing a datafile which was added to the database after the full backup, I get the following error message:
    Starting restore at 10-10-2009 18:00:38
    released channel: t1
    released channel: t2
    RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
    RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
    RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
    RMAN-03002: failure of Duplicate Db command at 10/10/2009 18:00:39
    RMAN-03015: error occurred in stored script Memory Script
    RMAN-06026: some targets not found - aborting restore
    RMAN-06100: no channel to restore a backup or copy of datafile 43The redo log which was CURRENTat the time of the datafile's 43 creation is also available in the backups. It seems like RMAN can't use the information from the archived redo logs to reconstruct the contents of datafile 43. I suppose that because the failure is reported already in the RESTORE and not in the RECOVER phase, so the archived redo logs aren't even accessed yet. I get the same message even if I make a separate backup of datafile 43 (so a backup that is not in the same backupset as the backup of all other datafiles).
    From the script the duplicate command produces, I guess that RMAN reads the contents of the source database's controlfile and tries to get a backup which contains all the datafiles to restore them on the auxiliary database - if such a backup is not found, it fails.
    Of course if I try to perform a restore/recover of the source database it works without problems:
    RMAN> restore database;
    Starting restore at 13.10.09
    using target database control file instead of recovery catalog
    allocated channel: ORA_DISK_1
    channel ORA_DISK_1: sid=156 devtype=DISK
    creating datafile fno=43 name=F:\ORA10\ORADATA\SOVDEV\SOMEDATAFILE01.DBF
    channel ORA_DISK_1: starting datafile backupset restore
    channel ORA_DISK_1: specifying datafile(s) to restore from backup set
    restoring datafile 00001 to F:\ORA10\ORADATA\SOVDEV\SYSTEM01.DBF
    .....The datafile 43 is recreated and then redo is applied over.
    So, does anyone know if duplicate database can't use archived redo logs to recreate the contents of a datafile as a normal restore/recover does? If it's so, then it means it's necessary to perform a full database backup before every run of duplicate database if a datafile was added after such a backup.
    Thanks in advance for any answers.
    Regards,
    Jure

    Hi Jure,
    I have hit exactly the same problem during duplication.
    Because we backup the archive logs every 6 hours with rman I added an extra run block to this script.
    run
    backup incremental level 0
    format 'bk_%d_%s_%p_%t'
    filesperset 4
    database not backed up;
    (I also than hit a bug in the catalog which was solved by patching up the catalog dbs from 11.1.0.6 to 11.1.0.7.)
    This will narrow down the datafile not being part of any rman backup to 6 hours while skipping datafiles for which a backup already exists.

    Tycho

  • SSRS 2012, SQL Server 2012. Problem with changing database

    Hi all!
    I have a problem with changing database for SSRS.
    I have a SSRS 2012 and SQL Server 2012. These programs is on WIndows Server 2012.
    I need to link SSRS to the new database instance. For this I run SSRS Configeration Manager, open tab Database, click Change Database. Then I choose option "Choose an existing report server database", click Next, write the server name, test
    connection (it's successed) and push Next again. Then I see this error message:
    Error
    The feature: "Using other editions of SQL Server for report data sources and/or the report server database" is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services.
    OK
    I'm confused, cause I have compatible versions of programs and THIS error.
    Please, help me.
    Thanks.

    Hi Kirill,
    From the error message, we can know that the issue may be caused by incorrect editions of SQL Server for report data sources are used as the Report Server Database.
    When creating a report server database, please be aware that not all editions of SQL Server can be used to host the database. So we should make sure that we have used the correct database as the
    Report Server Database. For more details, please refer to the “Report Server Database Server Edition Requirements” section in the following document:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc645993.aspx
    Hope this helps.

  • Problem with Logical Database DDF

    Hey All,
    I have a problem with Logical Database DDF.
    In my program I am typing this
    GET KNA1 based on selection screen. It is bringing back everything I want except BRAN1 whereby the field is ''. However in SE16 for KNA1 and for the same KUNNR, the field is populated with 'T180'
    I am not understanding this?! I thought LDB where menat to make things easy!!

    I think it's not used by DDF.
    so you must check it with:
    check kna1-bran1 in s_bran1.

  • Problem with ORACLE database

    Hi all,
    I am facing some problem with ORACLE database while configuring one JDBC scenario in the receiver side. I have configured one JDBC scenario like FILE TO JDBC. As JDBC is at receiver side i have provided the input file with the following format ,
    <root>
      <StatementName1>
         <dbTableName action="INSERT">
             <table>employee</table>
              <access>
                    <flag>NO</flag>
                    <ID>567</ID>
             <NAME>134</NAME>
                 </access>
         </dbTableName>
      </StatementName1>
    </root>
    But in the ORACLE database all my columns are in the uppercase.
    So when i have tried to send this input file to process through JDBC receiver side then i have faced the below error :
    FATAL ERROR: Column 'flag' does not exist in table 'employee'
    Then I have tried to check with sender side processing of JDBC adapter. By using the SQL statements as
    SELECT * FROM EMPLOYEE WHERE flag='NO'
    UPDATE EMPLOYEE SET Flag='YES'  WHERE flag='NO'
    Here it worked fine.
    Now my question is,
    If the same adapter is working when we are writing a query directly(sender side), then we must also allow case independence in the auto generated SQL part(receiver side).
    The JDBC drivers for both SQL server and Oracle, supports the same java code, for accessing the DB, irrespective of the case of the column names.
    Please clarify this doubt as soon as possible.
    Thanks,
    Soorya.

    Hi Dharmaveer,
    When I go with the following input file,
    <root>
      <StatementName1>
         <dbTableName action="INSERT">
             <table>EMPLOYEE</table>
              <access>
                    <FLAG>NO</FLAG>
                    <ID>666</ID>
                    <NAME>SSS</NAME>
                 </access>
             </dbTableName>
      </StatementName1>
    </root>
    I will get the following query with succesfull processing.
    INSERT INTO  EMPLOYEE (FLAG, ID, NAME) VALUES (NO, 666, SSS)
    when i go with this input file,
    <root>
      <StatementName1>
         <dbTableName action="INSERT">
             <table>EMPLOYEE</table>
              <access>
                                    <flag>NO</flag>
                                   <ID>777</ID>
                        <NAME>TTTT</NAME>
                        </access>
                   </dbTableName>
      </StatementName1>
    </root>
    Then i am facing this problem,
    Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Error processing request in sax parser: Error when executing statement for table/stored proc. 'EMPLOYEE' (structure 'StatementName1'): java.sql.SQLException: FATAL ERROR: Column 'flag' does not exist in table 'EMPLOYEE'
    Here I cant get any SQL statement as it is not successfull.
    I have gone through your link but it also says to modify the column in the input file which is not possible for me. Can you please help me in this regard?
    Thanks,
    Soorya

  • Has anyone been experiencing problems with "Restore Purchases" after upgrading to iOS 7?

    I've been having problems with restoring purchases on a majority of apps that I have previously downloaded and purchased IAPs. I've only successfully restored purchases on one app (Warhammer Quest); but other apps, such as "Legendary Heroes" (On which I spent $20 to unlock everything), no longer restore my purchases. Instead the "Restore Purchases" button prompts me to buy one "Remove ads" purchase. Some apps, such as Trinity Interactive's Tiny Legend Monster Crashers and Call of Mini Zombies do not have a "Restore Purchases" button at all. Has anyone else been having this problem? And even so, is this an issue with iOS 7 or just an incompatibility between the apps themselves and iOS 7? I've put way too much money into a bunch of these apps to have to repurchase everything all over again.

    I would recommend using the SEARCH function of the forums and locating the many others posts that have already discussed this issue.

  • Problem with restoring a database from cold backup

    All,
    I've got a 10.2.0.4 database that we perform a cold backup on every night with RMAN. On Sunday 2/21, we have level 0 backup. On Monday-Wednesday nights, we take a cold level 1. We also perform a controlfile auto backup each night.
    On a second server where I want to restore the database (same version of Oracle 10.2.0.4), I've copied the control file auto backups, the level 0 and the most recent level 1. I now want to restore. I use an RMAN script similar to the following to restore the control files:
    connect target /;
    set dbid 1973354860;
    # Restore the controlfile from the tag that auto backed up the controlfile at the end of the level 0
    run
    startup nomount;
    allocate channel c1 type disk;
    restore controlfile to '/u01/app/oracle/oradata/ORADB1/control01.ctl' from AUTOBACKUP;
    restore controlfile to '/u02/app/oracle/oradata/ORADB1/control02.ctl' from AUTOBACKUP;
    restore controlfile to '/u03/app/oracle/oradata/ORADB1/control03.ctl' from AUTOBACKUP;
    release channel c1;
    shutdown immediate;
    After the control files restore successfully, I perform some RMAN checks to ensure that all of the files I need for a recovery are there. The RMAN> list backup of database; command shows all of my backup savesets as AVAILABLE for the level0 and level1 backups.
    I then try a restore database command; and get the following errors:
    RMAN> run
    2> {
    3> allocate channel c1 type disk;
    4> allocate channel c2 type disk;
    5> allocate channel c3 type disk;

    So I'm unclear as to why RMAN believes the backups of these files don't exist when I attempt to restore the database. Anyone have a clue?
    NOTE: I've also tried to restore spcifically with the tag= clause but I get the same results:

    Just as a follow on to my last post, after the RMAN-06023 messages, I list backups of the three datafiles and as you can see RMAN thinks that they are available. If I exit RMAN and list them at the OS level, they are where RMAN things they should be:

  • [HELP] Problem with restore and recovery to new host

    Hi, guys!
    I have been trying for two days, but still cannot get it to work.
    I have taken a full hot(online) backup with archive logs as well as the control file and SPFILE, and then copied the backup to the new host with the same directory structure and settings. Finally, I have tried to restore & recover the database on the new host but failed during the restore process.
    Both the original host and the new host have the same Oracle installed down to the patch level. I couldn't figure out the proper solution to this problem base on my limited knowledge about Oracle DB.
    Could anyone help me out here? Any advice would be appreciated!

    a) Does the directory structur exist on the new server :
    D:\DBDATA\PRODDB\ --- for files 1 to 4
    D:\ --- for file 5
    D:\ORA_DATA\ --- for files 6 to 8
    >
    Yep, I have doubled check the directory structure that get in the way, and they are all exist.
    Would it be something to do with the folder permissions?
    >
    b) Apparently a RESETLOGS has been issued on 07-Nov. Which controflile backup do you have restored and mounted on the new server ? It should be the one after the RESETLOGS.
    >
    I restored the one included with the backup. Should I take another backup of controlfile seperately and restore from it instead?
    >
    (I assume that you did a RESTORE CONTROLFILE followed by sql "alter database mount" before the attempt to RESTORE DATABASE)

    Yep, that's exactly what I did.
    //executed @ RMAN prompt of the new host
    startup nomount; 'the new host has the right SPFILE to start with so i didn''t bother to RESTORE SPFILE first.
