Problem with stringtokenizer on event handling

First of all I apologise if its not the proper area.
I have built a typical gui with netbeans builder.When I double-click a button to switch to source and edit its actionPerformed function the first thing I do is to declare a StringTokenizer variable.I am tottaly sure that I have imported java.util package.So I ask for your help.Whats the deal and I cannot do this declaration?
thanks in advance!
EDIT:
My code
private void jButton1ActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) {
   StingTokenizer stok=new StringTokenizer("kjvfw jqwejoiqe ieie9");
}       Edited by: ultimate_aektzis on Dec 23, 2008 7:14 PM

Spell StringTokenizer correctly.
(and it will help if you post the exact error message in the future.)

  • Problem with releater and event handling

    Hi Flex genius,
    I have been struggling for the whole day with a problem connected to repeater.
    I have a text field:
    <mx:Text id="shortText" width="300"  text="{newTeaser.currentItem.shortDescription}" styleName="Scandinavian" fontSize="12"  />
    and a label:
    <mx:Label   id="readMoreLabel" x="13" text="{newTeaser.currentItem.readMore}" color="#3C4593" />
    both inside a  Repeater which fetches from an XML:
    <mx:Repeater id="newTeaser" dataProvider="{eventsData}">
    The Repeater works fine, but I need to add a click on the label id="readMoreLabel" that replace the shortText.text with  {newTeaser.currentItem.longDescription} instead of {newTeaser.currentItem.shortDescription}.
    i am quite new in Flex, so I guess I miss some fundamentals.
    Thanks for your help.
    Max

    This code works, and notice the trace(), you CAN have IDs for the controls in the repeater, and you can access them as an array, though I do not make use of this capability in my solution.

  • Possible problem with StringTokenizer?

    Hi all

    Thanks all
    Bill

    while( st.hasMoreTokens() ) {
    System.out.println( st.nextToken() );
    valueArray[i++] = st.nextToken();
    }It looks like you're calling nextToken() twice each
    time through the while loop, but only checking to see
    if it exists once. This would be better:
    while(st.hasMoreTokens()) {
    String tok = st.nextToken();
    System.out.println(tok);
    valueArray[i++] = tok;
    Duhh............ Thanks! It was a long day.
    That makes senses. It is not like say String.length() which returns a set value. Ask and learn.

    I had the same problem. I read you post and was so disappointed that no one had answered you. But I have a good news for you :) My team leader managed to solve this awkward problem.Add to h:selectBooleanCheckbox style="z-index: 20;" so that it is "above" the table row that fires its own onclick event.

  • Hi everyone. I have just started having problems with iCal.  Events that I thought I had deleted are appearing on Print Preview and on print outs. Likewise Events which I have not deleted have disappeared from my calenders, but appear in print preview.

    Hi everybody. I have recently started having problems with iCal (Version 2.05 (1069). Events that I thought I had deleted appear in Print Preview and Print Outs. Likewise Events that I have not deleted have disappeared from my calender (Month View) but appear in Print Preview and Print Outs. I see that there have been similar problems with Events disappearing especially in Month View. I wondered how print preview seemrd to be picking everything up deleted or not, and what the solution may be?. First time of Posting. I hope I haven't embarassed myself.

    Hmmmm.
    At the very least there must be a "com.apple.ical.plist"...iCal would not function without it.
    Click on the Finder icon in the dock
    Click on Go > Home
    Double-click Library
    Double-click Preferences
    Look for a file called "com.apple.ical.plist" and remove it to the trash.

  • Problem with MOUSE OUT event in complex MCs

    Hi,
    I've got a problem with detecting mouse out event (AC3)
    appearing when MC
    contains other embeded MCs. The Event.MOUSE_OUT seems to be
    unusefull
    because every MC attached to parent triggers this event. I
    can't turn off
    mouse listening for these objects because they are a kind of
    buttons
    (thumbnails in picture gallery). So MOUSE_OUT event is
    triggered even when
    we are still inside parent MC. More over - MC has irregular
    shape which
    makes impossible to check mouse position and compare it 'by
    hand' with
    object with not rectangular boundary. Does anybody know how
    to solve this
    issue ?
    Regards,
    Marek

    > yes this is expected behaviour with MOUSE_OUT, which is
    why there is
    > another
    > event ROLL_OUT, which as Flash help says, "...is to
    simplify the coding of
    > rollover behaviors for display object containers with
    children."
    Thanks a lot Craig !
    Now it works fine.

  • JDEV 10.1.3: Issue with Inherited public event handler methods in beans

    I have a bean validator method which it inherits from another base class.
    I am able to pick this method using the property inspector and it works fine.
    But in the jspx source view, i see a red wiggly line under the expression. Is this a bug or some bizzare way of enforcing some best practice (if using inherited event handler methods in beans is NOT a best practice)?
    The same is true for value change listeners.

    I started from scratch and the problem remains. Only one commandButton can fire an event which sets a variable that controls a af:switcher. The effect is similar to what the "blocking" attribute does but it is set to false on my components. Any ideas, time has already run out.

  • Capturing the Cancel button with Before Print event handler

    I put together a script that is triggered by a beforePrint event handler. Everything works fine but I can't figure out how and where to capture the user clicking on the Cancel button in the Print dialog?
    Any ideas? Thanks, Dan

    Alen,
    My bet is you are using JDeveloper 11.1.1.5. This is a known ADF bug 12551764 in this release, not related to JHeadstart.
    Here are the details:
    http://adfbugs.blogspot.com/2011/05/jdeveloper-11115-serius-bug.html
    I just checked the bug database, it is fixed in patch 12399372. You can go to metalink to download the patch.

  • Problem with Booleans and events

    I have an event structure inside a while loop. I have several buttons each of which triggers one event. Now no matter what latch action I try with these at any point of time only one of the events run. So if I want to run another event I have to stop the main vi run it again and then go to the next event. I guess what this means is that the events are not being terminated by value change. But I have tried to reset the value of the boolean as well in order to terminate but event this doesnt seem to work.There is some fundamental problem somewhere but I am unable to figure it out. Can somebody please help me.
    I am attaching a sample vi and sub vis that demonstrate this problem. In this case I need to have the booleans h
    ave the switch when released action. i.e as long as the button is pressed the camera i control moves left and as soon as I release it it shud stop.

    You need to decide whether you want things controlled by events, or by loop polling.
    Some things to consider:
    Inside each event you have a loop where you read the booleans the events react to. That means the events will be fired over and over again inside the loop, and you'll have a stack of old events to be fired when the while loop has exited...events you don't really want to do anything about (use events for all the button clicks, or loops - not a mix).
    Events are still flow controlled so when the left event fires and it enters the while loop it won't handle any other events until that while loop has finished.
    When an event fires the button value if read at the same time is not the value the event fired on. So when you have an event that fires when
    you press the button, if you wire the button value to something inside that even it won't be true, it will be false. Use the new value output of the event case to read the value you really want.

  • Problems with System.in (The Handle is invalid)

    Hi everyone,
    I'm new to these boards. I wanted to ask about a problem I've been encountering. Here is the program as follows:
    import java.io.*;
    public class KeyboardLineInput
    public static void main(String a[])
    InputStreamReader isr=null;
    BufferedReader br = null;
    String line;
    int n=0;
    try
    isr = new InputStreamReader(System.in);
    br= new BufferedReader(isr);
    line=br.readLine();
    while(line!=null)
    System.out.println(n + "\t" + line);
    n++;
    catch(IOException e)
    System.out.println(e.getMessage());
    finally
    try
    isr.close();
    br.close();
    catch(IOException e){}
    The problem is that I get a runtime error when I run it. It keeps telling me java.io.IOException: The Handle is invalid
    I'm running with parameters. My parameters are of course just what I type in. I'm doing this through med editor. Also, I've tried this exact program on multiple computers and I still ge the same exact error. Does anyone have clue as to how to solve this?

  • Problems with Mouse Down event for a picture control embedded in tab.

    I noticed that when trying to get a Mouse Down event for a picture control that the Mouse Down will not be 'fired' if the picture is embedded in a tab control. It also appears that this problem exists for other controls (I only tested a slider in addition to the picture). It isn't much of an issue for me now as I can just poll the mouse property of the picture control, but the Mouse Down event has information that I may want access to in my next software revision (button pressed, and Alt mod). I could do that by handling the Mouse Down event for the tab itself and checking to see if the the mouse property isn't -1, -1 for the picture, but that seems a little bit too kludgy (sp?) to me and wouldn
    't address the issue with other control types. Any chance of this being addressed by a patch sometime in the next couple of months???

    The problem I reported above was in LV 6.1.
    As a work-around, I used the mouse down on the tab control and did the math to decide if the picture was clicked.
    I have been told that this was fixed in LV 7.0. I can not confirm.
    You could call NI and ask about the service request number I cited above.
    I hope this helps,

  • Problem with time in Events

    Hi All,
    I need help desperately. I have followed several suggestions from previous posts but none helped. I just re-installed ical and applied the entire 10.5.2. update and I still have the same problem.
    When I create an event, the time always shows 15:54P.M. and regardless of what I have tried I can not change it! I have checked date/time settings as well. Nothing I can see that would make a difference.
    I have also removed the cached files etc and moved the file to the desktop restarted iCal and I still have the same problem.
    Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Here`s the screenshot.
    But anyway:
    The drive is Makintosh HD from my Macbook and it is shown in the event mediathek and in the projects. Since I`ve recognized this problem I installed FCPX again and consequently the event and project directory created by FCPX is where it should be and it shows all the test events including it`s files.
    So what happens? Opening FCPX you see only one event and that a new empty event. All previous events are not shown there even if you can see them in the finder. So if you import again the clips they are in this new event library. After closing correctly FCPX and reopening there again is nothing than an new and empty event. What it does is that it recognized that i.e. there are events with previous numbers and so it creates an new one with the next available counting number.
    If you want to open one event from the finder it by clicking to the file it opens FCPX but it says it cannot open the clicked file.

  • Problems with page and event paramters in java portlets

    Hi there!
    Following the documentation in "A primer on Portlet Parameters and events" and "Adding Parameters an Events to Portlets" I tried to develop two portlets (who will be at the same page), one showing some content of a repository (with possibilities to browse throw it) and another showing a sitemap of the repositories whole content, presenting links to the content's pages to be shown in the content portlet.
    So I added:
    1. a page parameter called pageMenuID to identify the current content page to be shown in the content portlet
    2. an input parameter for content portlet called portletMenuID. This input parameter is mapped to the page parameter pageMenuID
    3. an event for content portlet called changeContent with output parameter contentMenuID. When this event rises, "go to page" is set to the current page and the output parameter contentMenuID is mapped to the page parameter pageMenuID.
    4. an event for sitemap portlet called changeContentFromSitemap with output parameter sitemapMenuID. When this event rises, "go to page" is set to the current page and the output parameter sitemapMenuID is mapped to the page parameter pageMenuID.
    This is the code for some constants and a function to build the links in the content portlet, that I want to use:
    // page parameter (shouldn't be used here)
    private final static String pageParamMenuID = "pageMenuID";
    // parameter names as given in providers.xml:
    // portlet input parameter
    private final static String inputParamMenuID = "portletMenuID";
    // event name
    private final static String eventName = EventUtils.eventName("changeContent");
    // parameter name for event parameters
    private final static String eventParamMenuID = EventUtils.eventParameter("contentMenuID");
    String getEventUrl( PortletRenderRequest portletRequest, long menuID) {
    NameValuePair[] eventParams = new NameValuePair[2];
    eventParams[0] = new NameValuePair(eventName,"");
    eventParams[1] = new NameValuePair(eventParamMenuID, "" + menuID);
    try {
    return PortletRendererUtil.constructLink(portletRequest, portletRequest.getRenderContext().getEventURL(),
    eventParams,
    true,
    true);
    } catch (Exception e) {
    return "null";
    This is the analog code from the sitemap portlet:
    // page parameter defined on "edit page mode" (shouldn't be used here)
    private final static String pageParamMenuID = "pageMenuID";
    // parameter names as given in providers.xml:
    // event name
    private final static String eventName = EventUtils.eventName("changeContentFromSitemap");
    // parameter name for event parameters
    private final static String eventParamMenuID = EventUtils.eventParameter("sitemapMenuID");
    String getEventUrl( PortletRenderRequest portletRequest, long menuID) {
    NameValuePair[] eventParams = new NameValuePair[2];
    eventParams[0] = new NameValuePair(eventName,"");
    eventParams[1] = new NameValuePair(eventParamMenuID, "" + menuID);
    try {
    return PortletRendererUtil.constructLink(portletRequest, portletRequest.getRenderContext().getEventURL(),
    eventParams,
    true,
    true);
    } catch (Exception e) {
    return "null";
    But what actually happens is nothing. I also tried to construct the links with EventUtil.constructEventLink() with the same result. Checking the produced html-code in the browser shows that the same URLs are produced. So I'm of the opinion, that proper event links are created.
    After checking the sent and received request parameters I came to the conclusion, that the event output parameters are never mapped to the page input paramters, as they should. So I changed the code to the following:
    // page parameter (shouldn't be used here)
    private final static String pageParamMenuID = "pageMenuID";
    // parameter names as given in providers.xml:
    // event name
    private final static String eventName = EventUtils.eventName("changeContentFromSitemap");
    // parameter name for event parameters
    private final static String eventParamMenuID = EventUtils.eventParameter("sitemapMenuID");
    String getEventUrl( PortletRenderRequest portletRequest, long menuID) {
    NameValuePair[] eventParams = new NameValuePair[1];
    eventParams[1] = new NameValuePair(pageParamMenuID, "" + menuID); <-- Note that the page parameter and not the event output parameter is used here -->
    try {
    return PortletRendererUtil.constructLink(portletRequest, portletRequest.getRenderContext().getEventURL(),
    eventParams,
    true,
    true);
    } catch (Exception e) {
    return "null";
    Now everything works fine, including addition of persistent private portlet parameters and further input/page/event parameters as well as working with a third portlet with performs a search (and presents the search results as links which change the content in content portlet).
    But this is actually NOT the way it should work: The names of the page parameters are hard-coded in the portlets, so the roles of page designer and portlet developer are not separated in the way it is presented in the documentation. I coulnd't find a way to map the event output parameters to the page parameters to work this out.
    Now I wonder whether there's some known bug in PDK or perhaps a mistake in the documentation or wether I'm just missing doing the right things. I've already read some postings in this forum concerning this problem (for example how to change the query??? but I think I've done all the things that are suggested there (checked the entries in provider.xml and the proper mapping of page parameters, public (input) portlet parameters and event output parameters, also the way I read the received request parameters and build the links)
    Has anybody an idea what's wrong here?
    Best regards
    Torsten

    Hi Amjad,
    thank you very much for time and effort you spent on helping me solving this problem.
    Unfortunately, I think I already tried what you suggest in your answer, but without success. From my experience, the following two calls:
    1.
    <%!
    private static String eventName = "changeContent"
    private static String eventParamID = "menuID"
    String getEventUrl(PortalRenderRequest prr, long menuID) {
    NameValuePair[] eventParams = new NameValuePair[1];
    // no addition of eventName in the array
    eventParams[0] = new NameValuePair(eventParamID, "" + menuID);
    return EventUtils.constructEventLink(prr, eventName, eventParams, true, true);
    %>
    <a href="<%= getEventUrl(portletRequest, 1234) %>">some link for ID 1234</a>
    2.
    <%!
    private static String eventName = EventUtils.eventName("changeContent");
    private static String eventParamID = EventUtils.eventParameter("menuID");
    String getEventUrl(PortalRenderRequest prr, long menuID) {
    NameValuePair[] eventParams = new NameValuePair[2];
    eventParams[0] = new NameValuePair(eventParamID, "" + menuID);
    eventParams[0] = new NameValuePair(eventName,"");
    return PortletRendererUtil.constructLink(prr, prr.getRenderContext().getEventURL(), eventParams, true, true);
    %>
    <a href="<%= getEventUrl(portletRequest, 1234) %>">some link for ID 1234</a>
    produce identical links. I took the second way because it is easer to add private portlet parameters to the link: just as additional NameValuePairs in the eventParam- Array (name constructed with HttpPortletRendererUtil.portletParameter()), instead of constructing the link "by hand" as mentioned in the javadoc for constructEventLink(). I have to add these private portlet parameters here because when an event from a private parameters owning portlet is fired, the private parameters are lost (in difference to when an event from ANOTHER portlet is sent).
    So I think, when you also look closely to the code snippet I added in the first posting, I made shure that I added the name of the event and not just the event parameters to the link.
    I hope that I understood your answer right. Perhaps you have another idea what might be wrong. Thank you again,
    best regards
    Torsten
