This is the correct code:
// JCAPS uses JVM version 1.5
logger.info( "--- BEGIN ------ JCAPS userInitialize" );
String currRoot = System.getProperty( "com.stc.application.dataroot" );
String log4j_props = currRoot + "/../../NoemaLife/" + collabContext.getProjectPath() + "/" + collabContext.getCollaborationName() + "_log4j.properties";
but I have the same problem...

  • Problem with System.getProperty( "com.stc.application.dataroot" ) in JCAPS6

    Hello everybody,
    I'm using JCAPS 6 but I have to follow a guideline of projects implemented with JCAPS 5.1.3.
    The project for example, has written for the logs-directory in method user initialize this code:
    // JCAPS uses JVM version 1.5
    logger.info( "--- BEGIN ------ JCAPS userInitialize" );
    String currRoot = System.getProperty( "com.stc.application.dataroot" );
    String log4j_props = currRoot + "/../../NameDirectory/" + collabContext.getProjectPath() + "/" +
    collabContext.getCollaborationName() + "_log4j.properties";
    With JCAPS 6 I don't know how to substitute "System.getProperty( "com.stc.application.dataroot" );" because with it don't function.
    Somebody can help me?
    Thanx!

  • Problems with System Update 3.14.0019 after installation SP2

    Have you encountered problems with System Update 3.14.0019 after installation SP2 for Windows Vista?
     After this upgrade I view  this error: "An error occurred while gathering user information."
    Thanks for the help

    A known issue.  It wasn't supposed to be supported until SP2 is RTM.  However, look at the stickied post in the forum for some bad news about SU.

    With the word 'automatically', yes you do need pulseaudio. I'm sure you could cook up some udev or related rule to do that in Alsa, but pulseaudio would be easier.

  • Problems With System Configuration

    System Configuration is altered and not repairable. Selective startup is persistent. Normal startup is selected, but the Apply button is greyed out, inaccessible, and system always remains in Selective startup. As a result, Current User profile is probably
    corrupted. Windows Store will not install (services are corrupt, SFC and DISM did not work). Outlook profile was deleted, needed to be reinstalled, and can not receive mail. Excel math engine totals values higher than actual amounts. IE automatically signs
    into all Microsoft accounts (reset to default settings worked for a log on, but automatic sign in resumed afterwards).

  • Problem with "System.in.read()" read() method!

    import java.io.*;
    import java.lang.*;
    class Count {
    public static void main(String args[]) throws IOException
    int count = 0;
    while (System.in.read()!=-1)
    count++;
    System.out.println("Input has " + count + " chars.");
    in this code the loop stucks and it increments the count variable infinitely of course as long as i hit enter. I am trying to understand the problem with read() method of system class's in object. in its definition it says; when the inputstream ends it returns -1, but in this code it does not return -1 ever. another question of mine is that what args[] array do? what does it store??

    Java doesn't bother much with the dos console and it a bit limited and limiting - no pretty colours /graphics options - just text - that's because java graduates to GUI's where there is laods of power and object /component support to do everything and everything you could imagine and more. System.in.read() ??? - thats a fine start!
    what args[] array do? what does it store??
    Good question !
    It provides a means of passing a parameter argument from the command line to the program - consider this;-public class HelloWithArgs {
       public static void main(String[] args) {
          System.out.println("Hello I am " + args[0]);
    }What does it do and how does it work? Or this;-public class HelloWithArgs2 {
       public static void main(String[] args) {
          try{
             String myName = args[0];
          catch(ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException aob){
              System.out.print("No names: program will end");
              System.exit(0);
          System.out.println("Hello I am " + myName);
    }Study them and have fun. Though to answer the question -
    " public static void main(String[] args) {" // or
    " public static void main(String[] parameters) {"
    is the 'entry point' of all java programs, in order to do something it has to have a main() method and if youre going to pass on parameters, then why not a String array? If you think about it anything else would be fairly useless.

  • Problem with system Inactivity/Idle time after installing Lion.

    Since installing Lion strange things have been happening.
    While I was happily editing a text file in TextMate and interacting with the Terminal, my screen saver started. I could only get rid of it by clicking on it, keyboard interaction didn't seem to clear it.
    Adium was sending lots of updates to MSN to try and update my friendly name, which was causing issues with MSN sending errors back.
    After unlocking 1Password and starting to look for a username/password the application would then lock itself.
    I have since disabled my screen saver, which has not appeared again. I have updated the preferences in Adium to not change my status based on system idle time, although the dock icon for it permanently displayed the Idle sign. I have also updated the preferences in 1Password to prevent auto-lock after n minutes.
    Since changing these preferences I have not had any problems with the applications, however this isn't ideal. As soon as I revert these changes my problems come back.
    Has anyone else had this sort of issue? Does anyone know what might be causing my system to believe that it is idle, when I am clearly interacting with it?

    If I delete the existing xml file and set the file path to the desktop, the script works again. However it doesn't work if the applescript is called by another program. This seems to indicate that the XML portion if fine, but that there is some sort of new file permission level control in applescript that wasn't there before that is preventing me from viewing the file. Any further ideas?
    Cheers

  • Again problems with System Update

    Hello
    Yesterday I've newly setup my computer with Windows Vista. After this installation I have usually install Lenovo System Update first. I have installed the newest version (3.14.0008) and I'm trying now to use it, but it always tells me, that there are no packages available for my system.
    The strange thing is, that the package index (around 400 KB), which is normally downloaded, is never downloaded. The connection settings in Internet Explorer are correct.
    Does anyone else have the same problems? On saturday, everything went fine with System Update. Since yesterday, I'm unable to get any software or drivers.
    Maybe there's a problem with the package server?
    Thanks for any response.

    Yes, we here in Germany have also problems, the same message appears.
    The Update Server seems down, try again later or tomorrow.
    See on "thinkpad-forum.de" are also users with this problems.

  • CS$ Mac Install error after problems with system

    I have Illustrator CS4 for Mac.  Had system problems and several programs failed to run after re-installing system 10.6.8.  Now all (including PSE) work except for Illustrator.  Have tried to re-install Illustrator, but when the installer finishes, it says, "installation complete with errors.  It suggests re-starting and trying again, which I have done several times.  I have also run the uninstall app and then re-installed.  After quitting the installer, Illustrator will open to the start screen, but clicking on any of the choices or selecting open or new from the file menu results in the program quitting.  I really need this to do my work, and have people waiting for jobs.

    Of course that should say CS4, not CS$.  This is an iMac (late 2006) with System 10.6.8.  There is nothing in any crash or log files that makes sense to me.  Here is the message.
    I have tried a few hints found in other posts for other install issues.  Am still having the same situation.  It starts, but accessing any menu or a choice from the startup screen results in the program quitting.

  • Weird problem with system

    I have a K8N platinum and i seem so be having some weird problems. A lot of the time it is having problems reading certain disks. for instance I once installed Rome total war on my system and it ran fine. i then had to reinstall windows due to some SP2 causing my system to go haywire when i reloaded windows got the latest driver and stuff  when i tried reload teh rome game it was telling that the files onteh disk might be corrupt as it was reading them correctly. after much chasing about with activision and installing  differnt drivers i finally got it working again  ( i think by dowlnloading the nforce drivers from MSI rather than Nvid) i Recently got a new 200 gig HD and decided to reinstall windows on that get a fresh copy of SP2 on disk(third attempt at loading that nighhtmare update every other time has caused sys probs)
    again im back to problems reading the cd same as before but getting the drivers from MSI this time hasnt helped as these were the first i tried.
    am currently using nforce 5.10 and getting nowhere
    any had or heard of anything similar?

    Why people call it MSI drivers is beyond my knowledge .
    5.03 is a NVIDIA driverpackage for NF3_CK8S with some drivers removed , 5.10 is a later NVIDIA driverpackage and unified for nf3 250 chipsets and backwards to nf2 .
    The IDE drivers is the same in both 5.03 and 5.10 so you get no difference regarding your problem altering between theese .
    5.03 has an older gart driver and doesn't include nv-audio drivers , rest is the same .
    If you have problems with CD , revert the controller to "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE controller" for the PATA controller .
    Leave the SATA controller with "Nvidia nForce3 250 Serial ATA Controller (2.6) .
    Revert only the PATA controller which CDROMs use back to the microsoft standard ide one through device manager
    Ide ATA/ATAPI controllers -  Nvidia nForce3 Parallel ata controller - properties - driver-tab - Update driver - install from a list .. - don't search - choose :Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE controller -apply .
    Run the CDROM alone one one of the two ide ports as master . And harddisk(s) if you have any PATA HD's  on the other one .
    And don't use the cheapo red MSI ide cable .

    I have a X220 (PN: 42912BG) with problem installing the latest TVSU. It would not start, it only give me a message saying it can not find the C:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\System Update\ConfigService.exe. Does anybody els have this problem, and any good solution for fixing it?
    I ve sent a email to Lenovo Support, but nothing happen - they say they forwarded my email to another team.
    I tried to install a earlier TVSU 5 version, but it only say I have to upgrade my version. And then, back to the problem...
    After installing TVSU 5.01 I no longer have the service called "System Update" availible in services.mcs.
    And after this message the startup screen for TVSU5 coming, and a program stop working (Lenovo System Update TvsuCommandLauncher) stop working:
    Hope for some feedback soon!
    My computer is a X220, with Win7 Pro 64-bit.

    Current SU release date is 02/04/13  version 5.02.007
    If the installer fails (interrupted), as shown in screen above. You will have to hunt down the msi install log.
    Go to C:\Users\**your id**\appdata\local\temp folder.  Look for tvsuSetup.log.
    Go to the end of the log, and post any error codes shown.
    Note: running the install standalone (not update in place), will allow a shortcut to SU to be placed in the start menu.

    I have also seen another post,,i will have to hunt it down, which matches the UK post.  Looked like a help screen for MSI installer.

  • Problem with System Metrics SM_CXSIZEFRAME + SM_CXPADDEDBORDER in Windows 10 Preview (Build 10041)

    Maybe this forum is the wrong place to ask something about Windows 10 Preview, but I did not find a dedicated place to report
    programming problems as opposed to user problems:
    I program/maintain a 32-bit desktop (WIN32 API) application and try it now on Windows 10 Preview build 10041. I calculate the size of a window border with the help of the GetSystemMetrics function, using the constants SM_CXSIZEFRAME and SM_CXPADDEDBORDER.
    Originally, I only used SM_CXSIZEFRAME. This returned 4 pixels instead of the expected 8 pixels that I got on all previous windows versions up to Windows 8.1. Then I learned that already since Windows Vista one is expected to add the value of SM_CXPADDEDBORDER
    to get the full border size. (SM_CXSIZEFRAME alone only continued to work on Vista and beyond thanks to a little compatibility hack by Microsoft, with SM_CXSIZEFRAME still returning the full border size and SM_CXPADDEDBORDER returning
    yet 0, at least for 32-bit programs like mine.)
    Assuming that Microsoft finally switched off that compatibility measure on Windows 10 I query and add SM_CXPADDEDBORDER now as well. Unfortunately this does not solve my problem, as that system metric returns 0.
    Just to be on the sure side, I declared my program to support Windows 10 by using an embedded manifest and using the corresponding <compatibility> / <supportedOS> line with the Windows 10 GUID - this did not help either.
    As querying and adding those two system metric values is rather trivial (no need to include code in this question, I think), I don't have the slightest idea what
    I could do wrong here, this looks like Preview bug affecting 32-bit programs to me...

    I regret to inform you, that you have to live with this error for ever. Microsoft won't fix it... we reported an error of the Windows Error Reporting system (exists since Windows 8) and provided a reproduction (an application with one printed page of code,
    so very small and easy). It has never been fixed. 3 developers at Microsoft are involved and they confirmed, that it's a bug ... but... no chance. It's a strange company... I don't know what they mean with "we listen to our customers".
    PS: ja, nöd grad hilfriich mini Kommentär, aber die Type triibed eim eifach in Wahnsinn!! ... schinbar nöd nur öschtlich vo Bade, sondern au weschtlich

  • Problem with system recovery for a new hard drive in my Pavilion p6210y Windows 7 Premium 64bit

       I decided to swap out  my hard drive when my computer would fail to start up or crash right after starting. Diagnostic tool at startup said the hard drive was faulty and other times I would get BIOHD-1 and BIOHD-2 errors. I replaced the old WD Caviar Blue 640GB with a new Caviar Green 1TB. I ordered and received from HP a system recovery disc set which included five discs labeled:
    Use This First! System Recovery,
    System Recovery 1:1,
    SYstem Recovery 1:3,
    System Recovery 2:3, and
    System Recovery 3:3.
       After putting in the new hard drive I used the "Use This First!" disc and everything seemed to be going fine. The scene showed "Loading Windows" or something like that. After about 10 minutes the CD drive opened and the Monitor showed three images: a big green check mark which I assume meant everything was good up to that point; a graphic showing the removal of the first disc; and a graphic showing three discs to be put in. Wondering whether to put in the System Recovery 1:1 disc or the System Recovery 1:3 disc, I noticed that the drive bay closed with the "Use This First" disc still in. I managed to get the Drive to open after pressing the open button quite a few times. I closed it with the 1:3 disc and nothing happened (no light showing activity in the DVD drive). After a minute or so I managed to get the drive open again after quite a few times pressing the open button. I put in the 1:1 disc and still nothing. At this point I could only open the drive bay with a paper clip in the release hole. With the computer unresponsive and the monitor still showing the same as when the first disc came out, I decided to turn it off with the "Use this First!" disc in the drive hoping to start from the beginning again. Now the directions that came with the HP System Recovery discs state:
       CAUTION: Do not turn off the computer, or use the keyboard or mouse during this time. Doing so will interrupt or damage the software installation.
       Now when I turn the power on I get either:
     the HP blue screen with the green hand, (F11=system recovery), (F9=Diagnostics), (F10=Setup) and (ESC=Boot Menu). pressing esc, F9, F10 or F11 does nothing.
    Or the HP blue screen appears and then almost immediately goes to the black screen with " Reboot and select proper boot device or insert Boot media in select Boot device and press a key". I've gotten this scene while trying almost every System Recovery disc in the drive. Hitting a key does nothing other than repeating the same message.
    Once I got a "The file is corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computer checksum" error. That appeared only once in about 30 try's.
       The open DVD drive button works sometimes and not other times. I can't seem to figure out a pattern for when it will work.
       I don't know whether I might have accidentally moved the mouse or hit the keyboard during the first attempt. Can I  do something to the new hard drive to get it back to a state where it can start from the beginning again? Might it be a problem other than the old hard drive. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit
    Yes, of course! See the link to your model's spec above.
    My apologies. The previous link went to a spec for the Satellite A505-S6960 (which came with Windows Vista installed). I had too many spec pages open at the same time and got them mixed.
    So, are you telling me that I won't get this one to work?(the BPKT)
    No. But you may face the problems that I outlined in this message.
