Problem with two-column layout

Hello,
I've done table-based layouts for several years, but I'm
trying to switch to CSS. I still have a lot to learn...
I'm trying to create a web site as a favor for a friend. She
hasn't figured out what she wants yet, so I've just been creating
some pages using canned designs. I created one using "Two-column
left nav" under Dreamweaver's "Page designs (CSS)":

I want a fixed-width left navigation column and a fluid
content column.
I ran into several problems with the original design. The
most notible was that if I changed the browser window width, both
the content and nav columns would resize. I didn't want that, so I
set "navBar" width: 150px. That worked, but if I make the window
too narrow, the content starts to overlap the navigation column in
Firefox 1.5.0.6, and the navigation DIV drops to below the content
in IE 7 rc (I think) 3 and IE6. I tried removing the width
altogether, but that made things worse.
What is wrong with this picture? Is there a cleaner way to
solve my problem?

How to create a form with two column headings

I have a business request to create a data form to handle multi year data by month. This will require creating a form with two column headings - with the first row be Year and second row be month, and data entry will begin in the third row and down.
I can do multiple row headings in the layout design, but somehow can not get it to work for multiple column headings.

If you're in the "Layout" tab, simply pull the "Years" dimension and the "Period" dimension into the Column section. Planning can be a little picky about where you "drop" the dimension as you're dragging and dropping it. Drop it in the cell directly under the letter name of the column. Other than that, there's not much to it.

I'm looking for the best way to handle a two-column layout where:
• Column 1 contains tips, small images/thumbnails/icons, etc
• Column 2 contains the meat of the educational material, and
• Content in column 1 anchors/floats with the appropriate content in column 2.
The goal here is if the content in col 2 moves, the related content in column 1 moves with it.
I've got about 1200 pages of content coming in from somewhat rough TXT.

Two columns layout using tabs ?

Hi everybody,
I have a layout issue about a template i'd like to make. Here's the thing (i use underscores instead of spaces):
NAME__Blablablablablablablablablablablablablablabl-
________ablablablablablablablabla
________Blablablablablablablablabla
NAME__Blabla...
(as you can see, the left columns can be left empty)
Obviously, and 2 columns layout page is not the good solution.
Basically, it could be a table with two columns (and it seems appropriate), but since the content of a row won't continue on several pages, I had to try with tabs. The issue I got with tabs is that is does like :
NAME__BBlablablablablablablablablablablablablablabl-
ablablablablablablablabla
See what I mean ? It is okay for the first line but not the others. And I have to make paragraph styles of that. Maybe this kind of thing have been discussed here before but I couldn't find a case that fulfilled my requirments (is it at least correct english ? .

if you need a fast change of font style, use the character style. For this, show the styles drawer and click onto the button with the underlined a at the bottom of the drawer. Select the etire entry of the "left column" and adjust the font like you want to have it. Now select the red triangel beside the "None" title in the character style panel of the styles drawer. In the appearing menu you can choose the "Create New Character Style from Selection...".
Do this and click the "OK" button or change the attributes for this character style by clicking the triangle beside the title "Include all character attributes". There you can deselect the attributes you don't want to store with the character style. But with this, Pages has a bug, so you can stay this untouched. It will work like you need it.
After you have stored the character style, every time you have inserted a new entry in your "two column" layout, select the left column entry and choose the character style in the styles drawer you stored for it.

Problem with checkbox column in matrix

Hello.
I have a little problem with checkbox column in matrix.
Column is binded to the UserData.
It has ValOn="Y", ValOff="N".
I use C++. It is wird problem. In matrix I have 10 columns - scrollbar role and if You want see checkbox column, You must role to the right. If this column is on the screen, and I use:
checkcell->PutChecked(VARIANT_TRUE);
then the checkbox is cheched, and if the checkbox isn`t on the screen and I use this comment - it nothing happening.
I tried to use ValOn="Y", PutChecked...
The problem i solved if the column is on the screen - if the column is first in matrix or second, but if it`s last I have a big problem.
My column with checkbox is not editable, but I tried to make it editable, check it, and then make it uneditable - the same efect.
How can I solve it ?

I am not sure about your problem, but here is an example of how to use checkbox in UI API.
First, create the matrix with checkbox column in Screen painter, and the output is an xml file, like this. Type as 121 indicates that it is a check box.

Second, bind the column to table from DB. This is a bug of 2004 Screen Painter, so if you are using 2005 Screen Painter, there is no problem.
Third, when you open the form, you can check and uncheck the cell.
BTW, please set the editable of the column to true.

Problem with two of my business rule triggers

Good morning every one,
I have a small problem with two of my business rule triggers.
I have these tables:
pms_activity
csh_cash
csh_integrate_leh
csh_integrate_led
and my process goes like this:
upon approval of a row in my pms_activity table I have a trigger that insert a row in my csh_cash - and in the csh_cash table I have a trigger that will insert in the csh_ingerate_leh and csh_integrate_led.
my problem is pms_activity does generate a row in csh_cash but the trigger in the cash does not fire to generate a row in the csh_integrate_leh and led tables.
I have generated in the following order after I created my business rule:
I have generated the table from the designer (server module tab)
I have generated the CAPI from the head start utility
I have generated the API from the designer
I have generated the CAPI from the designer
I have run the recompil.sql
I have checked that my business rule trigger is enabled and should run on insert and no where restriction

Try resetting it again and restoring with the same backup file...
Does the phone work properly once you've reset it before you try restoring? A lot of people here have experienced problems restoring from backups... could be worth forgetting about it and starting from scratch.
You could try contacting your nearest Nokia Service Centre (www.nokia.com/repair) and see if they can do anything - it may need the firmware reinstalling or upgrading... possibly... give them a call though and see.

Try <af:panelForm row="X">, that specifies the number of fields by columns. If you have ten fields and you fix row="5", you will obtain two columns with 5 rows on each.

Hi,
There are probably a number of ways that you can handle this, but the underlying principle for all of these would be that you need to have 2 reports. The first report would contain the first ten records and the second report would contain the next ten.
The way to do that would be to get the ROW_NUMBER() value for each line and, in the query defintion for each report, you would have a WHERE clause that restricted the results based on this value. The best way to do this would be to create a view and base the reports on this view. The view definition would include:
ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY xxxx) AS ROW_NUMBER
where xxxx is the same order definition as the main ORDER BY clause. Each row will then get a ROW_NUMBER value that matches it's position in the query resultset.
Your first report would then have a WHERE clause of:
WHERE ROW_NUMBER < 11
the second report would have:
WHERE ROW_NUMBER BETWEEN 11 AND 20
The final step would be styling/positioning the reports. The first would probably be in Column 1 in the region and the second in Column 2. You would almost certainly have to adjust the styling and/or positioning using a style attribute in the region/report definitions.

Little problems with two sensors

I've got a problem with two sensors.
First, the luminosity sensor. I'd like to set the brightness to a fixed value. It would not vary from darkness to bright sunlight.
Then, when i'm typing in landscape mode, it often switches back to portrait mode, wich make me terribly angry as i lose too much time.
How can i solve these two problems ?
Is there a special app?
Last, but least, does anyone know if an app that would allow to take HDR/exposure blending pictures exist ? It'd take 3 to 5 photos with different exposures, and if it merged them to a good tonemapped picture it would be perfect.

The light sensor can't be set to a fixed permanent value using the phones default settings, I'm afraid. You can only adjust it's sensitivity. However, some users have reported using an app to keep the screen set at maximum brightness.
The motion sensor which switches the phone screen orientation has become more sensitive after the recent PR 1.1 update, so not a lot can be done about that either, apart from trying to hold the phone as steady as possible when using it.
Finally, there isn't any HDR available for the N8 at this time, nor is there any setting to increase the exposure time to something like a second, which would be a nice feature to add to a great camera.
