Problem with Yahoo Maps..."Error Opening URL..."

I am trying to use a yahoo Action Script 2.0 map to display real estate listings from an xml file. I often receive the following output error, which prevents the entire yahoo map from opening:
Error opening URL ‘http://maps.yahooapis.com/xml/apiconfig.xml?r=988’ (the last 3 digits are random and change each time the problem occurs)
I have searched the internet for a solution and cannot find one.
I have emailed yahoo, who has not responded, as well as other people who have had the problem, but they cannot remember what they did to solve it.
Please help!

No, I'm not doing anything to handle security issues.
What I have done is downloaded all the .as files that yahoo uses for their maps (from http://modestmaps.mapstraction.com/trac/browser/trunk/reference/YahooMaps/com/yahoo/maps?r ev=6), including the xml file (http://maps.yahooapis.com/xml/apiconfig.xml).
What I am thinking, correct me if I'm wrong, if I go through all the class files and change their names from "com.yahoo.maps.insertscriptname1.as" to something defining my own server (ie. mikeraydesign.maps.insertscriptname1.as), and point to the xml file from the one .as file that points to the one with the security issue, this might work.
I don't know if it will, but I don't think it can hurt. What do you think?
Regardless, lets say I put all the files into my own folder on my server, (ie. www.mikeraydesign.ca/maps/), how would I go about importing those scripts from my fla? The fla needs to import 4 initial classes, which then point to all the others (in the link I have above). How do you point to online class files? Would this even work?

Flash cs4 mac - Error opening URL '/:Users:someting.swf' - Not a "loading external content" problem

Hello.
I am having a weird problem when trying to test a movie or publish preview -> flash on mac with Leopard os.
The result is a blank movie with the usuall "movie not loaded" if u right click on it and the output returns the "Error opening URL 'the path of the swf here'.
This has nothing to do with loading external files or something like that. It happens even in blank movies and it gives the same error if I try to open a swf from flash ide.
I can publish the project or export the movie with no problem at all.
I can preview the movie in html. I can run all the swf files in my hard disk, network, usb stick, dvd etc., but when I try to open any of these files from flash ide I got that stupid error.
Its not something that stops me from working in flash ide but its slow to export movie any time I want to test it.
Things that I've tried so far but nothing worked:
Update the flash cs4 to the latest version
Update the flash players
Restored the release flash player as default player (I am using as default the debug player)
Cleared the preferences
Move the flash cs4 folder to another location in hd
Saved the fla document first before testing the movie (in different places with or without spaces in document name or folder)
Give read & write permissions for everyone for flash.app, players and for fla files when saved first before test movie
Unistall and install the application 3-4 times.
Test every as version just in case.
Also I've checked the folders when testing movie and I can see that it creates an swf file, which I can run it outside flash ide (the one that the flash ide player cannot load) with no problem.
The mac os has the default set up as it came. Nothing chnaged in permissions or security settings.

that Flash is putting into my relative path on the error message.
Is that normal?

Do you have an example? I develop Google maps for Web pages and haven't had problem with Safari and its extensions, only FF which I took out all the addons and plug-ins, but it wouldn't surprise if the Google map code doesn't display the map or information for the map or doesn't work with newer versions of Safari.

Can anyone help with "Error opening URL to submit this form"?

So is this happening to anyone else?
I do a test movie from my Mac and when the movie I’m
testing needs to load an external file I get the following error
message:

This happens on my Mac alone mind you, everyone else's in the
office works fine.
It doesn’t matter if I am loading an xml file through

Use the trace function to track down what values you are trying to process. The error is telling you it cannot find the file for the path specified, and the path that it is identifying seems to be showing that there is a problem not only with the path (appears to have several blanks spaces) but also the file name.
Try tracing the url value before it gets sent to the loading line, as in... trace(url) and see what it shows.

Problem with reverse mapping

I can find the original creation script if it is necessary.
My guess was that I need to define the foreign keys myself into the
generated schema.xml This is stated in the manual. However, this did not
help, although it changed the stack trace a little (it complains about
different classes than before):

I don't think I fully understand the error message, what exactly is wrong

- added the name - attribute to schema (it was missing)

-primaryKeyOnJoin flag tells Kodo to ignore a join table with a primary
key on the join columns. But Kodo can't handle join tables with extra
column(s) just for a primary key identifier. This isn't a limitation of
the reverse mapping tool, it's a limitation of Kodo. Kodo wouldn't know
what to insert in those extra primary key column(s) when adding membersWhy not? If it can handle single numeric pk columns when making the
generated classes use data store identity, it has to generate something to
those columns. I can't see why this is different.
That is simply out of curiosity - the next thing fixed my problem:
to the join table. Of course, if the primary key is an auto-increment or
something where Kodo can ignore it for inserts, you can just remove the
<column> elements and the <pk> element from your .schema file and the
reverse mapping tool will map it as a join table appropriately.It is auto-increment, so I did this and it worked. Thanks.

Hi,
This problem seems intermittent. It was working OK earlier this morning but now I can't open emails, I'm getting the following error message "We’re sorry, but there appears to be a problem loading the email".
If I try forwarding the message to an alternative email address, as suggested on the Yahoo community forum, I get this error message "Yahoo Mail is having a problem retrieving the original email for reply or forward."
Has anyone got a fix, or even a workaround please ?
Can the mods help with this ?

Basicall my site is a gallary to display JPG's
There is a menu to select the topic and then all the relevant
JPGs are displayed.
I'm loading the names of the JPGs from an XML I created.
Then I duplicate a simple mc that I created called holder_mc
I have 4 col X 3 rows = total 12 holder_mcS in one page.
So far so good...but the problem begins when I you go back to
the main menu and try to upload a new set of JPGs.

I tried to remove the movie clips using -
removeMovieClip(_root["holder_mc"+i])
but I get the same problem.
Is someone familiar with this problem?

The URL was just the massege i was getting...nothing more.
I found the problem...
I didn't pop the Array that got the images names from the
XML...so it was trying to load the wrong JPGs...

I have one more question regarding to using mcS as buttons,
it seems that I have to use it with "onEnterFrame" , otherwise it
doesn't respond. But then I get an error messege ...*** Security
Sandbox Violation *** ... ' tried to access incompatible context
Do you know what is the problem? See my attached code.

XML.sendAndLoad - (Security-related) Error Opening URL

Hi All,
I know this is a common problem (I've searched), but I'm
hoping you can help me out.
1. What my Application Does
My Flash app uses XML.sendAndLoad() to communicate with a
Java Servlet on the same domain, in the same webapp.
2. What happens when I run it on my (developer) machine
It works.
I connect to a url "
http://localhost:8080/webapp1/servlet/FlashServlet"
perfectly and pass around XML between Flash and Java
3. What Happens on the Real Machine
The Real Machines equivalent URL is
http://int-tzn:8101/webapp1/servlet/FlashServlet
The XML.sendAndLoad() cannot connect, with a "Error Opening
URL" error.
4. What I've Tried
4.1. Using a
crossdomain.xml on Real Machine
(not sure if I've got in correct place, but i
can see it at
http://int-tzn:8101/crossdomain.xml
4.2. Tried a StandAlone (Projector) WITH Network Access
4.3. Tried using
LocalContentUpdater to confirm and set
network access
4.4. Have set in my ActionScript :
System.security.allowDomain("*");
Please help.
This needs to go into a large Production Environment in 2

OK the deal is:
When using TLF, a user visiting your webpage will download the TLF's SWZ file, if the user already has that file it will be downloaded from the adobe site, if the adobe site is down then it will search the .swz from where the website is hosted on.

Proxy problem with Yahoo search returned links

We have two BM servers here. Older one Netware 6 sp5 w/ BM 3.7 sp3 that works well. A replacement that I have had up but not currently using much Netware 6.5 SP8 w/ BM 3.8 sp5. The latter one has a problem with Yahoo search results. If I point a workstation to the older NW6 BM it works fine in Bing, Google & Yahoo. If I point it to the NW6.5 BM then it will work fine in Bing and Google but in Yahoo it will return the results but when you click on any link there I get this message:

2. Compare both traces, the working one and the non working one. See if
the returned link from yahoo is the same on both traces and it is coming
from the same server. You may have another firewall/router up in the
path causing the issue.
3. Before taking the lan traces on the netware server using pktscan.nlm,
unload proxy, load proxy -cc to clear cache. Then take the traces and
see at what point the non working one differs from the working one.
check that info is coming from the same up server

Problem with Yahoo Messenger for Blackberry 10

Hi Blackberry Team,
I've recently encountered a problem with Yahoo Messenger 10.1.0.88 on my Blackberry Q10 running OS 10.1.0.4181 software. It had been working fine for like a month after I purchased this phone from the authorized shop in Thailand until a few days ago it started showing the message within seconds after signed-in: 'Your connectino to the instant messaging provider has been lost. You can wait for the connection to be re-established or close the application and try logging in later'.
This is only when I'm on 3G cellular network. It works fine through Wi-Fi connection.
I did some research on website and found that the latest version of Yahoo Messenger for Blackberry is actually 10.1.1.16 released on Sep 30th, 2013 but, for some unknown reasons, my Blackberry World only shows the '10.1.0.88' (which already installed on my phone) as the latest version.
I really need this for work as I'm communicating with international bankers over yahoo. Please help look into this problem and get it fixed at your earliest possible. Thank you.

"problem with shortcut/fatal error during installation" on other user accts

I-tunes installed and works with no problem in original user, but when another user account attempts to open Itunes, program attempts to install/configure again, then results in a "problem with shortcut / fatal error during installation" message. Setting the other users to administrators doesn't help, nor does un-installing/re-installing, etc. I am at least the 4th person with this problem (see Burthomp earlier today,Jan. 17 and Richard 1018 on Dec. 29). This problem started with Itunes 7.5, and is still a problem on Itunes 7.6. I have a standard Dell setup, Model E510. There must be a lot of people with this problem. Apple, are you working on this? Anyone else have a suggestion?

I ran into the same problem, but I think I have the solution. First, the problem isn't with iTunes, its an access problem with Windows XP. I tried to run the iTunes program from the Program Files, and I received an "Access Denied" error.
If you try to open the Program Files in My Computer\Local Disk(C:) and receive an "Access Denied" Error, that is why you are receiving a "shortcut problem/Fatal Error during installation".
Here is how I corrected it:
1) Shut down the computer and restart it in "safe mode". I had to look up how to do this, but I pressed F8 when it was restarting and I highlighted the "safe mode" and started the machine. The icons will be large, but ignore it.
2) Open a user that has administrative access -- I used the one user that has access to itunes.
3) Go to My Computer\Local Disk (C:) and right click on the "Program Files" folder. Select "properties" at the bottom.
4) Go to the Security Tab
5) At the top you should see one or two users that have access to the Programs File. One will be the user that itunes works on. Click Add, then click Advanced, then click Find Now.
6) At the bottom should appear a list of users. Select a user on which itunes doesn't work. Click Ok, then click OK again.
7) Give that user full access to the Program File by putting a check mark in the Full Access box.
8) Repeat for the remaining users.
9) Restart computer in normal mode.
10) Go into a user that had problems and click the itunes icon, and it should run.
It worked for me, I hope it works for you.

Filling in a PDF Form, but get "Error opening URL to submit this form" when I try to submit

Did you get this resolved? I am doing the same thing, passing in a url to the submitForm method via cURL. I am submitting as FDF, and specifying the #FDF at end of URL.
Currently working against a localhost url, which is allowed and trusted in acrobat to rule out the enhanced security of the reader.
Any ideas?
