Problems adding narrations using Elements 11 on Mac

I keep getting an error message saying I don't have any input channels and to go to the audio hardware and change it to default device to rectify this issue.  Well, I've tried...for the past hour and I keep getting an error message saying, "Ensure I have launched premiere elements in administration mode"? Whaaat???? I had my Logitech sound dock connected to my computer via usb but unplugged it.  Still, NOTHING! Premiere elements 11 has crashed on me a few times and now I wished I would have shelled out the $300 for FCP X.  At least I wouldn't be going thorugh this trouble w/ deadlines to meet.

Although Windows and Mac are indeed different, I tried to reach a common ground since the Premiere Elements worksflows are similar be they based on Windows or Mac (although Mac does seem to get short changed on some features here and there).
However since you said yourself you are getting messages to the effect
"Ensure I have launched premiere elements in administration mode"?
my suggestion about your permissions and Administrative Accounts was quite relevant since Premiere Elements has always been highly dependent on those factors as well as the latest version of QuickTime installed.
I am not sure how much help will be forthcoming from Adobe since it classically deals with current version and 12 is released, but you could try to contact Adobe through Adobe Chat and see how far you get.

When the link opens, click on "I still need help." to bring up the Adobe Chat pop up. I pre-selected the topic as "Using my product and service."
I did come across the following online discussion which sounds very close to your situation, Premiere Elements 11 Mac et al. In that case, a person identified as coming from Adobe stepped in. It is an 11 month old post with no posted conclusion. Nonetheless you might want to explore the contact cited at the end of the post.

Unlike that article, this is a user to user forum with no expected visits from Adobe.

  • Problems adding narration

    I'm trying to add narration to a project using Premiere 11. I have made the recommended ajustments under preferences, audio hardware, ASIO input and output. It begins the recording process to the time line and it is saved to the project assets. BUT there is no sound when replaying the file. There is no visible audio on the yellow line. Am I missing a step somewhere? I've tried a Sennheiser head set with mic, wireless mic and a hand help mic - all plugged directly into my pc but no luck - I have added narration with the same equipment to other programs - any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Having problem installing Win7 using Bootcamp on Mac Mini 2011

    I'm trying to install Win7 using bootcamp on my new Mac Mini 2011. I first partitionned the disc using Bootcamp assistant. Then during Win7 installation I select Partition 4 BOOTCAMP, format it to NTFS, then when I try to select the drive, it says that the drive is not compatible for the installation.
    Is there anything I missed???

    I had a similar problem when I selected upgrade instead of complete install. I want to make sure your aware that you should click the complete option instead of upgrade when you reach that portion of the win7 install. Then you need to select part ion 4 like you have stated and format it to ntfs.
    But it seems that you've already done all of that. My advice would be to go back to the Mac side, restore the partition using bootcamp and again partition it. You need at least 25gb of space for 64 bit. I would recommend using at least 40gb. Just trying to help. I apologize if I misunderstood your problems. But make sure you click on the opposite choice of upgrade, I did my mini last night lol but I can't remember the exact name of the option I think it's complete, then select part 4 and click format....

  • Problem importing videos using Photos for Mac

    I just install photos for mac, everything seems ok since I moved iphoto library to new photos library.
    But there is one problem, I can not import videos from my iphone, every new photo was imported but not a single video.
    The application said the format file is unrecognizable file type.
    I am using macbook air with Mac OS X Yosemite ver 10.10.3 also iphone 4s and iphone 5, each idevice using latest ios.

    iPhoto did not support video syncing over iCloud. The new Photos app does. If you synced, or transferred your videos to iTunes, they should have migrated yo Photos. Enable Sidebar in the View menu, then check the Videos special Album.
    Your old iPhoto app and iPhoto Library remain on your drive and work as before. The iZphotolsb is in your Applications folder.

  • Problem - Adding item using wwsbr_api.add_item

    Hi, I´m using portal 10.1.2.0.2 and when I try to add an file using wwsbr_api.add_item, it returns me the following error "ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception: java.lang.NullPointerException"
    But It happens only when the file name has special caracter.
    Anybody has any idea how to solve it?

    You mentioned at the top of the thread that the region type had not been defined. I have not tried this in 10.1.4, but I know in previous versions if you programmatic ally added a item to an undefined region it didn't show up until that region was manually configured as an item region. The symptoms were as you describe -- nothing showed up in edit or view mode. As soon as the region was setup as a item region, the items appeared.
    Roche's suggestion will establish if the item is even being created at all.

  • Having problem adding citations using endnote with pages 4

    Help needed
    When I go to insert and find a quote in my endnote library and hit insert it appears as if it has done something but no quote appears in my pages document however something is in there because it moves the curser along and when I press delete it acts as if it is deleting something.......wierd.  Ive downloaded and installed the plug in and the same thing seems to work fine on my Imac.

    If all your professors are using MS Office, then I recommend you should too.  It is not realistic to think Pages will always generate word format docs the same way MS Office would have done so.

    Note, that there are some lines in that sample:

  • Has anyone tried to use Elements 9 on their Mac and had problems?

    Trying to use Elements 9 on my mac, but find that the create and effects editing part of the package are not working. Does anyone else have this problem?

    We have already uninstalled and re-installed it a few times, but it did'nt make any difference. Have also e-mailed Adobe about this but as yet have had no response. I know not all Mac users are having this problem, which is why its so frustrating.

  • Has anyone had a problem with printing from Elements 9 on a MAC?

    When I first installed Elements 9 and tried to print, all I got were blank pages.  I contacted adobe support and after an hour on the  phone, she referred me to the next level.  I then received an email from them asking me to call them and in the meantime, they suggested things I shoud do.  I did what they suggested and it worked.  I was able to print.  However, I was unable to indicate the type of paper or resolution that I wanted to print in.  So, I called them again.  It seems that on a windows PC, they give you five options for printing:  1.  Select printer, 2.  Select Settings, 3.  Select paper size, 4.  Type of print, and 5.  Select Print size.  On a MAC,  You get only three options:  Select printer, Select paper size and Select print size.  Does anyone know another way to select the settings and type of print.  I have been using Elements 4 for years with no problems.  Elements 4 gives all the  options.  I don't understand why it is not the same in Elements 9.

    Thank you so much.  You have solved my problem.  I never thought to click the down arrow.  In all the time I have been printing, on any program, the entire window opened up when I clicked on the print button.  This one never did.  I don't understand why Adobe support never told me about that when I called them.

    When I try to put two images into a "new file" both images are in front of the file. I can't drag them into the file. I have the correct sizing. I did this with no problem in elements 3.

    If you are using more than the healing brush e.g. adding text or using adjustment layers; your layers will be saved for future editing.
    PSD is also a lossless format. You can treat it as you master copy containg the combined adjustments made with the raw sliders and any further adjustments made in expert mode. You can use the master to make a jpeg at any time. Simply open and do File >> Save As again. Or select a few PSD thumbnails in the Organizer and use File >> Export As New.

    Sorry to hear about your difficulties.
    It should be very uncommon for Pages to crash. I've been using it for years on a daily basis and it's only happened to me once except when I was trying to replicate a bug for someone.
    Your experience might be a symptom of an underlying problem with your system. I recommend that you back all your stuff up now.
    Whilst trying to isolate the issue, I recommend that you manually create frequent backups of your documents using the Finder after a successful save until you can trust it.
    Next, use disk utility to do a repair permissions on your hard drive.
    Also, after quitting Pages, try trashing your ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iWorks.Pages.plist file (back it up first if you want) and restarting Pages.
    If this doesn't work, there are loads of troubleshooting tips here: http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/faqs.html. I also recommend that you read the tips on system maintenance.
    In case you didn't already know this, Pages files are actually packages. Control-click on the icon and select Show Package Contents to see what's inside. You may be able to recover some text from the files in there. I don't believe there are any repair utilities. Nor is the file format available.

  • Elements 6 Mac - install problems

    I am using Mac OS X v. 10.5.6
    A while ago, I downloaded, installed and used the Elements 6 Mac trial version. The trial period has now expired. I have just purchased the boxed software, assuming that I could simply enter the serial number and carry on using the already installed software.
    However, the trial version does not accept the serial number that I have from my DVD package. On the front of the box, it states "Not for distribution in Asia Pacific or North America". I am in the UK, so I'm wondering if there is something different about the serial number required by the trial version - has anyone else experienced this problem?
    I have tried to install from the DVD, but that also fails. On initialising Setup, I get the following javascript error message:
    Critical errors were found in setup
    - Incompatible payloads already installed
    Please see the Setup log file for details.
    I'm probably not the first to have encountered this issue. I'd be very grateful if someone here can help, or point me to an appropriate FAQ or similar.

    I'm sorry but it's very hard to understand what you mean. What filter menu? In which program? Do you mean you're trying to use PSE as an external editor with some other asset management program? Which one?

    Thank you for responding.  Nothing actually worked!  After reading the posts online, I called Apple.  They indicated they have seen problems with some software after their upgrades.  The technician was able to fix the problem on my computer remotely, but I have no clue what he did!  But, it was definitely related to their recent upgrade to my computer.
