Problems filling in an on line form

I have a query which I hope somebody can help me with. I am trying to complete a online form through safari but everytime I complete a box of text and move to the next one the text in the previous box goes from being horizontal to turning 90' so that it is now vertical. I know this is not how it should be as somebody has looked at the form on a PC and can fill it it correctly. Does anybody have any ideas?

It sounds likely to be a rather ugly coding error on the web page in question. I've coded many forms and used far more, and I've never seen that happen in Safari.
The fact that it works in Windows is almost certainly due to the fact that it was only tested in Windows by the programmers. It's a sad fact that many web designers don't bother to test in anything but Internet Explorer in Windows and figure they're all set if it works there. These days they might take that extra step and look in Firefox in Windows as well... and call it good.
If you can provide a link, I'm sure plenty of people here will be happy to test to see if the same thing happens to them. I suppose it's possible it's not something you can publicly link to, though.....
In the meantime, perhaps a different web browser would work while Safari doesn't. A good bet is Firefox, and there are plenty of others very good options as well (Camino, Mozilla, etc.)

I need basic help on filling out an on line form.

I have used Adobe Acrobat to fill out forms on line, and it was always a no-brainer (set up that way by the author, I'm guessing). So I never explored the details of how it works. I am trying to fill out forms for an upcoming doctor appointment, but am unable to type on the lines. I did a bit of reading and then tried to use the "typewriter tool", but could not figure it out. I looked at the properties of the document, and the author marked "allowed" on the form being "fillable", so I thought that meant answers could be "filled in" on the lines. In the past, I've noticed that documents I could type on had light shading on areas I could type. This one doesn't. I'm not sure if I need to purchase Acrobat software or some other software to do this, or what I need to do. Can anyone help?

Problems with filling out/going back and editing filled out information and signing forms

Users cannot fully fill out, edit and save forms--
the forms were set up in InDesign CS6, then edited in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 for all the form info and after that was set up the forms were saved as extended pdfs to allow adobe reader users to fill them out and sign.
The users are having all kinds of issues with the forms and its been difficult to pin point the exact cause.
Here are 2 errors:
This document enabled extended features in Adobe reader. This document has been changed since it was created and use of extended features is no longer available. Please contact the author for the original version of this document.
The security settings on this document prevent adding text and/or placing a signature on it from Adobe Reader. To fill out and sign this document you need to print it out.
---I've checked the security on the form and there is no security not allowing them to fill it out and I believe that originally they were able to but the form was saved and then they went back and were unable to edit it. I need to know if its something I need to do on my end or an instruction I need to give to them--steps to filling out and saving programs vesions to use etc..

Your user should go to Extended pane in Reader to apply a digital signature to the Reader extended PDF.
The user is probably trying to use the Sign pane in Reader which has some options disabled according to the document permissions. The new Sign pane in Reader is an integration with Adobe EchoSign service in the sense that it enables an end user to fill-up documents, electronically sign and then send a PDF document, without having the need to print them. The Sign pane provides two options to the user:
1 - Fill and Sign: Here the user can place text using 'Add Text'. Users can add arbitrary text to a PDF, eg. in documents where Reader cannot interact with the document even though the document looks like a form, in forms where user cannot save the filled-up form. In such cases the only option a user has is to print the form, fill it and then fax or fedex the filled up document to the author or scan it and send it electronically. Using the Sign pane in Reader, a user can add text and also electronically sign the document (this is not the same as digital signature) using an image of their signature. He can create a 'signature' from a scanned paper which has user's handwritten signature and place it on the PDF.
2 - Send for Signature: Here the user is sent to EchoSign for collecting signatures from others.

You will get that first message when the document has been changed in a way that invalidates the internal digital signature that's applied when a document is Reader-enabled. Certain changes are allowed (e.g., filling fields, commenting, signing) and will not invalidate the signature, but others are not. The exact cause of the change is often hard to track down, but it can be due to font problems, some type of file corruption, or something that Acrobat/Reader attempts to correct when the file is opened/saved. You will also get the message if the users system time is not correct and is currently set to some time before the document was Reader-enabled. It seems best to use the most recent version of Acrobat to enabled the documents and recent versions of Reader to work with them.
It problem is probably not related to the user using anything in the Sign pane.

Problem Filling a form in Adobe Reader X

Recently, I've been getting error messages when I try to view a PDF file in Internet Explorer 9. I decided to uninstall Adobe Reader X (10.1.3) and reinstalled it, and seems to be working now.
Today, I was trying to fill in some tax-related forms and a form for school, which are both "fillable" pdf forms. I know that they are fillable, because I have already filled them the same way (via Adobe Reader X) in the past. When I try to fill them now, I see the purple message bar that says "Please fill out the following form. You cannot save data typed into this form. Please print your completed form if you would like a copy for your records". I have also tried to click on the "Highlight Existing Fields" button, but this doens't seem to work (and the fillable fields are not highlighted in purple).
I am able to click each field and see a black boarder around the selected field. Sometimes, I also see the indicator "I" but when I begin to type, nothing that I type appears in the field. I even try to use the "Add text" feature under the "sign" tab on the right-hand side of the window, the options to "Add Text", "Place Signature" and "Done Signing" are greyed out and cannot be clicked.
What do I do? I have already tried uninistalling and re-installing Adobe Reader X, but have had no luck. Is there any way to downgrade to Adobe Reader X (10.1.2) in case that version works better?

PDF files have to be specially enabled for you to save the contents. It appears the old version of these files had this capability, but the new version does not. Without Acrobat you will be unable to save the files. If these are truly government files, you can try going to the government's website and see if you can download a copy that will allow you to save the form field data.

Pop up Window before saving remembering the need (forcing) to fill required fields in a form

I searched the "old" forum and have very good help from UVSAR but unfortunately I'm not able to access my message sent to that forum anymore.

I've have never use Java scripts in my life: I started about three days ago.
1) I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro X (Windows 7)
2) I've created a form using Microsoft Word and save it as a pdf file.
3) After I created a form using Acrobat Pro X;
3.1.) This form it's not going to be submitted over Internet. It will be send by e-mail to some persons. They will receive it, fill in the form and send it back to me via e-mail. Note: I will save it with extended rights in order to allow to be read with acrobat reader (I'm the only one of the group having Professional edition).
4) In that form I've created some text fields (for now it's just what I need - no radio buttons, dropdown
menus, and so...)
5) Choosed Properties and marked 7 fields as "required";
6) Used a script I found in here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/784322 (thank you for the authors of the thread)

8) So... What I really need? Here are the reasons for my request for help:

Users will receive a pop up window telling them they need to fill those fields before saving the form and send it back to me. Can someone share a script, please? Thanks in advance.
8.2.) Is there a way to colorize the fileds that need to be filled? Again I only learned where to insert a java script yestaerday sou I'm not able to write one. I'm sorry for my newbie questions.
8.3.) Last question: In one of the fields there will be an e-mail address. On the end of the form I want to create a button like "Send by e-mail" and When someone press that button the e-mail will be sent to the address that was written in the earlier specific field. How can I do this (link a button to an e-mail address in a specific field)? Can someone help me with a script or ideas? Hope I was clear.
8.1.) UVSAR sent me the following code that works fine untill I save the document for the first time. Affter that he never shows me pop up window again.

Change transaction using BDC-problem for large number of lines on screen

The code is as given below. To avoid problem of large no of lines on screen,code lines starting with * is used. The same code is used in modify mode also. web application is sending all 3 lines in modify mode even if single line is modified. It is already decided to send all rows back from web application to SAP in same sequence. It is working fine if i comment 5 lines which is starting with *. But in modify mode, how can i ensure that correct row is modified? and how can i achieve problem of large no of lines on screen?Please suggest?

how can i ensure that correct row is modified?
1. For this we need to know two things ;
   a) the database table in which the entries are already stored
   b) the sequence in which they are displayed in the transaction.
2. So before changing any line, we need to compare (the primary key values / important values)
   a) as per the database table and as per the incoming data from web application (using bapi)
b) if the match is ok, it means that particular row was not modified, else modified.
how can i achieve problem of large no of lines on screen?
1. For this I am not sure about the transaction and its screen. Manytimes for appending row on the screen,
there is a PLUS + button on the grid toolbar. So for every entry, (inspite of some empty/filled rows already visible on the screen), we should use the + button, and this new row always appears on the top i.e. row number 1.

Yes, I did that. They have uppgrades for the dongles, but just untill Mac Os 10.7. Their solution is to buy a new modem from them or getting one for free if I sign a contract for 24 months! So, i think from that side not very helpful.
It is just that I do not want to buy a new modem, when it works in quite recent computers and after having spent money in the new Mac.

Font Problems Upgrading from LC 7.2 Forms to ES Update 1 (8.2)

Old Environment: LC 7.2 Forms, Windows 2003, Weblogic 8.1 SP5, Oracle 10.2.0.4
Old Fonts Directory: c:\windows\fonts. The customer fonts were also added to this directory and the fonts were embedded into the adobe-FontManager.ear.
New Environment: LC ES Update 1 (8.2) SP3, Solaris 10, WebLogic 10.0 MP2, Oracle 10.2.0.4
New Fonts: Copied all the adobe-FontManager.ear ttfs into the customer fonts specified directory.
Problem: I have the same XDP template being used in the old and new environment. I have two environments (Old or New) with the code to invoke the LC Forms server. The old environment prints out a Chinese form correctly. The new environment prints out the Chinese form, but a lot of the text are bolded when it wasn't showing that problem before in LC 7.2 Forms. Any thoughts on what might be cauasing this issue?

I couldn't get a LC ES Forms server solution to this problem. Adobe LC support stated that I had to modify the XDPs that show the bolding problem. According to Product Engineering and Escalations group, LC ES 8.2.1 contained changes with respect to font attributes that we need to modify the XDP. There are no server level changes that can solve the problem.
Solution for me:
1. Open the XDP that showed the bolding problem in LC Designer ES SP3.
2. Find the bolded Chinese characters and unbold them. Save the XDP.
3. Drop the updated XDP on to the LC ES Update 1 (8.2.1) Forms server.
4. Render the form in LC ES Update 1 (8.2.1). No unwanted bolded characters for me. As a plus I noticed the XDP size grow smaller in terms of file size after I saved it on ES Designer SP3.

Problem with Consolas font in a form

I have problem with Consolas font in a form in latest Adobe Reader (v11.0.9)
It shows dots (password sign) instead of letters. Edit box is not configured for passwords.
Form was created by Foxit PhantomPDF and it shows correctly in Foxit.
Can somebody check PDF for errors or warnings?

Yes, I have replace the userid with scott/tiger@orcl with i6menu/i6menu@vbs and also replace the OAS server's name as you have suggested.

1. Registry -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE-> ORACLE-> KEY_DevSuiteHome1->FORMS_PATH ->

2. Registry -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE-> ORACLE-> KEY_DevSuiteHome1->REPORTS_PATH ->
Values is : D:\vision_soft\VSS\exe
3. Entry made in the DevSuiteHome_1\forms\server ->default.env
FORMS_PATH=D:\vision_soft\VSS\exe
4. Entry made in the DevSuiteHome_1\reports\confr ->rwservlet.properties

As my forms is working well & but the report are not able to call.
Could you please let me know is there is any other mandatory setting required for the report 10g.

How do I get Firefox to automatically fill in personal details on forms?

In Google Chrome for instance, it will automatically fill in personal details such as name, address, tel and mobile numbers etc.
Does Firefox do this, and if so how?

Use form fill in Firefox or a form fill extension.

Master Line Form in Apex

Dear All,
We have created a master child form in our application using Oracle Application Express, Using this Form, we are able to do some modification in the child table based on the foreign key that exist in the master table. But in the line form we have one more additional column(called Row Selector) which is created by the system itself and not available in the query given by me and it looks something like check box, if i try to remove or hide that check box the modifications are not happening and its throwing me error while submitting. After selecting this check box and submitting the form, the data is getting removed from my master table. I want to submit the form with out this row selector column and it should be hidden in the form. Some one please help me out in sorting this issue.

I would like to hide the column (row Selector) in the Apex Master Line Form. In case if hide that column, while submitting the form, update is not happening properly as row selector is used as a key for updating the line item in the form. Please help me in sorting out the issue.
