Problems generating stub classes

When I use the EJB deployer tool I do not get any stub classes in the resulting EJB jar file. No errors are generated and the deployment to the WLS works fine but when I try to access the bean from a client the initial context lookup method throws an exception
javax.naming.ConfigurationException. Root exception is weblogic.rmi.server.ExportException: A description for com.eds.c
fs.ejb.CfsControllerBeanHomeImpl was found but it could not be read due to: [Failed to find a stub for [class com.eds.cf

I cannot understand why the stubs are not being generated by the deployment tool ?

Thanks for replying
We are using Weblogic 5.1.0 with Service pack 5 on Windows 2000. with the SUN
JDK1.2.2-008
The jar file generated contains the original classes plus "Impl" classes but not
the stub classe.
We have also tried running the ejbc compiler from a command line but that also
failes with the following error.
C:\CraigsClasses\deployTest>c:\jdk1.2.2\bin\java weblogic.ejbc c:\CraigsClasses\deployTest\CraigsBean.jar
c:\CraigsClass
es\deployTest\CraigsBean2.jar

raigsClasses\deployTest\ejbcgenAD.ser (The filename, directory name, or volume
label syntax is incorrect)
ERROR: ejbc found errors
We now also have a situation where the EJB deployer tool does not run on one PC,
it just locks up at the splash screen, even after reinstalling weblogic, the service
pack 5 and the jdk1.2.2-008. !
Thanks

Hello Craig,
What is the service pack level you are using?
what happens when you do Tools-->Generate container...?

  • Problem generating stubs for Java EJB web service deployed in OAS

    I created an EJB web service and I've successfully deployed it in my Oracle App Server. Some of the methods work fine but others produce the ff error:
    org.apache.soap.SOAPException - java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: No Serializer found to serialize [classname] using encoding style [encoding]It seems that the objects specified as parameters in the web service methods exposed are the only ones that had stubs generated for them. Other objects I use, which are usually wrapped inside a Vector, did not have generated stubs.
    Example:
         public String loginUser(UserDTO userDTO) throws RemoteException, NamingException, SQLException;
    public String addItems (Vector vecItems) throws RemoteException, NamingException, SQLException; // where vecItems is a collection of ItemDTO objects     In this scenario, stubs were generated for the UserDTO class, but not for the ItemDTO class. In effect, calling the addItems method resulted to the exception I mentioned above.
    I did a workaround wherein I declared a dummy method which accepted all the types of objects I needed as parameters so all the necessary stubs can be generated, but this fix doesn't feel like it's the proper solution to my problem.
    If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • How do I generate stub classes with wsimport for secured (SSL) WSDL?

    I'm trying to use the wsimport utility from the JWSDP1.6 to generate the stub classes for a web service client. The problem is that the WSDL location is secured on it's server, and when you navigate to it via a browser it asks you to authenticate before it'll show it. I have access to the WSDL, via a username and password, but I have no idea how to send those parameters to it through wsimport. Here's my error message from wsimport:
    [ERROR] Failed to read the WSDL document: https://-removed4companysecurityreasons-.com/ObsidianAdService.asmx?WSDL, because 1) could not find the document
    ; /2) the document could not be read; 3) the root element of the document is not <wsdl:definitions>.
    unknown location
    Can anyone offer me any advice/solutions here?

    I'm not sure we had support for secured web services access in 10.1.2 - try JDeveloper 10.1.3 instead:

    My understanding is, while generating stubs, dashes or hyphens in variable names m-strFileName, m-strFixedRevision, m-dateFixedTimestamp are interpreted as minus sign and hence compilation is failing.
    I tried stub generation from same WSDL with Apache Axis and it's working fine. But stub generation is failing with JWSDP. Is this a problem with this WSDL file ? Am I missing something while using wscomplie command ?
    Please advise.

    Deepank-
    When generating forms from Designer, Designer attaches libraries - like ofgmes.pll, ofgnavl.pll, etc. You will need to copy these libraries to the same directory where your forms reside on your Linux box. To find out what libraries ate attached to your form, open it on your windows PC after generating it from Designer and you will see the attached libraries. Also, watch out for the case-sensitivity of Linux. If you have the Designer libraries on your linux box and you still get errors, try changing the case of the names of the libraries.
    Hope this helps,
    Dan

  • Xrpcc modeler error when trying to generate stub classes from a WSDL

    I'm trying to generate JAX-RPC stub classes (both client and server side) from a WSDL in which one of the message parts references a complexType element defined in the <types> section of the WSDL. Here is my little WSDL document:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <definitions name="Book_Def"
    targetNamespace="myTypes"
    xmlns:tns="myTypes"
    xmlns:xsd1="myTypes"
    xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/">
    <types>
    <xsd:schema targetNameSpace="myTypes"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <xsd:element name="Book" type="xsd1:BookType"/>
    <xsd:complexType name="BookType">
    <xsd:all>
    <xsd:element name="authors" type="xsd:string" maxOccurs="10"/>
    <xsd:element name="preface" type="xsd:string"/>
    <xsd:element name="price" type="xsd:float"/>
    </xsd:all>
    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:schema>
    </types>
    <message name="runMyPgm">
    <part name="book" type="xsd1:Book"/>
    </message>
    <message name="getPgmResponse">
    <part name="result" type="xsd:string"/>
    </message>
    <portType name="MyPgmIFPortType">
    <operation name="runMyPgm">
    <input message="tns:runMyPgm"/>
    <output message="tns:getPgmResponse"/>
    </operation>
    </portType>
    ... Binding stuff
    </port>
    </service>
    </definitions>
    I've tried many combinations of defining my complex type and input message and whenever I run xrpcc using this WSDL as input, I get a Error: Modeler error: invalid entity name: Book (in namespace "myTypes"). Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what am I doing wrong in my <types> or <message> definitions to cause this error? I've had some luck generating stubs when the part types are all simple types, but I've not had any luck with getting a <complexType> definition accepted by xrpcc. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

    Yes you can specify type mapping in configuration file and probably this will solve the problem, but I've never tested this approach. Perhaps I'm not advanced user. Actually the serializerFactory and deserializerFactory are a little vague for me:(

  • JAXB problem generating java classes

    I'm doing some integration and have received a schema from the vendor the other day. When I try to generate java classes with the jaxb compiler I get this output

    http://weblogs.java.net/blog/kohsuke/archive/2005/05/compiling_mathm_1.html
    https://jaxb.dev.java.net/guide/Dealing_with_errors.htmlAdding the this code did not help. Downloading JAXB 2.1.4 did not help, adding the -extension parameter still same result.
            <xsd:annotation>

                <jaxb:property name="someAttribute" />
              </xsd:appinfo>
            </xsd:annotation>      Why is jaxb failing ? Could it be that and attribute is not allowed to be called "value" ?
    Any answers will do
    regards abq

    Well, after hours of digging I found a solution which actually was right in front of me the whole time.
    This is how I edited the schema.
        <xsd:complexType name="options">
            <xsd:sequence>
                <xsd:element name="option" maxOccurs="unbounded" >
                    <xsd:complexType>
                        <xsd:simpleContent>
                            <xsd:extension base="xsd:string">
                               <xsd:attribute name="value" type="xsd:string" >
                                  <xsd:annotation><xsd:appinfo>
                                    <jaxb:property name="realValue" />
                                  </xsd:appinfo></xsd:annotation>
                                 </xsd:attribute>
                            </xsd:extension>
                        </xsd:simpleContent>
                    </xsd:complexType>
                </xsd:element>
            </xsd:sequence>
        </xsd:complexType>Before, I placed the <xsd:annotation> tag efter the first line but inside the <xsd:attribute> made much better if you would like it to work.
    When marshling an @XmlRoot object will produce valid xml code. So even though that the server have a different xml schema, they will be able to talk to each other.

  • Problem Generating JAXB Classes

    I am using Eclipse (Enterprise Pack) and want to generate JAXB classes from a schema. I right click on the schema, select Generate JAXB classes - fill in package name, next and get the error:

    Am I missing a library?
    Steve Watson

    The web service project will add additional server runtime libraries to the classpath thus resolving the jaxb dependencies, in the case of a dynamic web project, you'll have to manage that with the JPA facet and eclipselink, or by adding the Moxy jars seperately. However, if you want to use the target runtime libraries create a user-library and reference the following server libraries: (from Server Install Dir\modules) glassfish.jaxb_"version".jar, glassfish.jaxb.xjc_"version".jar, javax.activation_"version".jar, javax.xml.bind_"version".jar, javax.xml.stream_"version".jar.

    Hi, you need to add activation.jar and mail.jar to your project, classpath settings.

  • Error While Generating Stub

    I don't think that the stub I'm generating is any good. I've been having a problem for a while now, where I can't register my remote object with the registry. The stack trace is throwing out a class not found exception, referring to my generated stub class. Also, by coincidence, this time around I had my IDE open in the background while I was generating the stub in a command prompt, and when the stub class appears in the ide (it has the rmi example working dir mounted) it shows up with an error badge - symbolizing that there is something wrong with the object.
    Now, the ide doesn't give me any information about what is wrong with the class, but it would make sense that the sutb is not being generated correctly, with the problems that I've been experiencing. Any ideas, as to how I could be generating a bad stub?
    I'm calling:
    rmic -v1.2 -classpath . test.rmi.timestamp.TimestampServer
    (i'm running jsdk 1.4.0_01
    Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
    -d|w

    Are you using Eclipse as your IDE ? And are you trying to run your server from within Eclipse ?
    If so (and possibly if not), you'll probably find that the problem is that you've not included your stub class files in the classpath when you run your code. Since Eclipse doesn't compile the stubs for you, this won't necessarily happen automatically.
    I've not tried the following tool, but it looks like it might ease things along if you are using Eclipse:
    http://eclipse-plugins.2y.net/eclipse/plugin_details.jsp?id=64

  • Stub classes generation in rmi

    i want to know how the class loading of stubs classes works in actual versions of java (1.5 and later)?
    i had read a lot of documentation of rmi, and generally it says that the stubs classes and implemented interfaces classes of a remote object must be set on the client classpath (or codebase), but java 1.6 not generates stub classes on compilation.
    This question is related with a error that i have now, I (and 5 people, but i'm the only one that knows RMI) have build a system with one server and many clients, when it run on my lan it works great, but when i install it on the production servers it fail to call server methods. There are not closed ports in PCs, and i have set hostname and codebase properties on server, and codebase property on the client.
    The server publish his object (on opened ports) and bind it in a rmiRegistry previously launched. The problem occurs in the client, it don't have troubles to lookup and get the stub server, but when it try to call a remote method it throws a NoRouteToHostException (to the public ip of the server).
    I have saw the whole [rmi faq|http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/rmi/faq.html] and the jguru rmi faq, even i have read the half of a OReilly's book of rmi, but still i don't know why this happen.
    I was thinking if the stub class (that there isn't in the client classpath or codebase) have some relation?
    If i create a registry inside the server, could it works?
    I don't have installed any securityManager on server or client because i think is not necessary if i don't download classes, can this have an influence in the problem?
    This is really frustrating to me.
    I hope than someone have some idea that can help me.
    Thanks!
    sorry about my english.

  • JAXB - Generated Java Classes error

    Hi,
    I am having a problem generating java classes given the follow snippet from a DTD. The ImplemenationData class that is generated does not include ImplementationPlatform and ProgramParameters as attributes. Instead, it includes these two elements in the PredicatedLists and then generates a content exception when those elements are not found. Can anyone tell me why these two elements are not being generated as attributes with the associated setter/getter methods to go with them? The ExeOptions, DllOptions and ExternalOptions are being generated properly and included in the PredicatedLists as they should be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Question about the generated package of an RMI stub class.

    Does anyone know why rmic tool generated stubs are in the same package as the class that implements the remote interface? For example, say I have an interface, MyRemoteInterface, in the foo.bar package, and an implementing class, MyRemoteImpl, in the baz package. When baz.MyRemoteImpl is compiled by rmic, a stub, MyRemoteImpl_Stub, is generated in the baz package.
    Now I would have thought that MyRemoteImpl_Stub would have been generated in the foo.bar package, as the stub is to be used on the client to handle calls at the interface level. In other words, the baz package really only makes sense on the server. This is in fact how stubs are generated for CORBA using the -iiop flag to rmic.
    Is there at least a way to specify the generated package?

    if u are running rmic on a class called com.yourmi.MyClass the stub will be generated with
    exactly the same package.
    the only thing that u can change is the location of the stub (for example, in another directory)
    but also in that other directory you will find com\yourmi\MyClass_Stub

  • Problems with generating persistent classes

    I've been following the tutorial for generating persistent classes from a
    DB. I'm not having much luck:
    First, with rd-schemagen, how do you tell it to only work on a specific
    schema? I run "rd-schemagen -file schema.xml NBS_ODS_101", but it still
    generates the schema file for all schemas in the DB. Is there a usage
    option for the tool (I haven't been able to find it yet)?
    Second, I have the following tables in my DB: ACT, ACT_ID, ENTITY,
    ENTITY_ID. When rd-reversemappingtool runs on these tables, it creates an
    ID class for ACT (ActId) which conflicts with the class generated for
    ACT_ID (ActId). Since renaming the tables is not an option and I really
    don't want to have to rename classes and change the mapping file every
    time I regenerate, what is a solution for this problem?
    Third, if I do the latter above so I can run the importtool and then I
    run "rd-importtool test\test.mapping", it runs successfully for a bit
    while spitting out information until I get this:

    I apologize for the documentation in this area. We're going to upgrade
    the tool and the documentation to a more recent version from our internal
    R&D codebase when our 2.5 release comes out in the next couple of weeks.
    This release will also include a system for customizing the tool's output
    in many more ways.This works:
    rd-schemagen -file schema.xml -indexes false -schemas NBS_ODS_101

    good way to tell you to work around it for now, unfortunately.I renamed the ID classes to ActOid and EntityOid and changed the .jdo file
    to reflect that. Do you see any problems with this strategy?

    Unless you want to wait until the 2.5 improvements to debug.I will send you all the files in a zip file by email.

  • Problem in generating Helper class

    Hi All,
    I have generated Helper classes using rmic -iiop tool of JDK 1.4. But the Helper class which is generating doesnot contain any bind method. So in my application, when i am trying to bind CORBA ORB with this helper class bind method, it is giving compilation error.
    When i was using Borland Server i was able to generate Helper class with bind method also using java2iiop and now i am not using Borland as we are migrating to JBoss. So i am using rmic -iiop tool.
    Can anybody suggest me what should i do for this.
