Problems(java.lang.OutOfMemoryError) Migrating from jdk1.3 to jdk1.4
Hi,
We are trying to migrate our application written using Swing EJB,JMS from jdk 1.3.1_06-b01 version to jdk1.4.1. With jdk1.3 everything works fine, but with jdk1.4, after the client is launched I get a java.lang.OutOfMemoryError, even for simple operation like seleting a node in the tree. We had set the initial heap size to 64m and max heap size to 150m. If I change the heap size to -Xms=96m an d-Xmx=256m the application works fine, but it hogs a lot of memory(nearly 210m for simple operations). Is there a memory issue with jdk1.4. If yes are there any possible workarounds?
Any help would be appreciated.

Don't use any memory settings, the memory will be allowed dynamically.

take also advantage of the oomdiagnostics flag of JRockit.
JRockit contains WONDERFUL diagnostics tools, if you learn how to use them you are the King of Persia.
unless you determine the cause it's very difficult to address it by trial and error. Besides, if (if!) you have a memory leak there is no point in changing the JVM parameters.... -
Java.lang.OutOfMemoryError - Trapping from DOS
Hi
I invoke my Java from a DOS .bat file, something similar to this below
java.exe -classpath my.jar;%classpath% my.batch.Application %BATCH_LOGS% testing=YI know I can add -Xmx500m to add memory however I dont want to do this for every app I build as its a bit of a waste (and I have two hundred that I have).
I therefore need to trap for when my program gives a java.lang.OutOfMemoryError so that I can then exit the DOS .bat file cleanly or not (this is so that Autosys then SUCCEED or FAILs)
For normal return codes the return code is passed out via System.exit(return_code) from a specific interface based method for all programs.
Is it a case that a finalize method is the best way to do this and do a System.exit(return_code) ? Or is there a better way?

I created a new domain and when access the Admin console I get the " OutOfMemory " Error
I revisited the domain creation steps and identified that when selecting the available JDK it shows " JRockit SDK 1.7.0 @ E:\Development\Java\jdk1.7.0"

Any possible pointers to the issue. Is it a issue with incompatible JDK 1.7 with weblogic 10.3.5.I just checked on the Oracle Support site. Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.5.0.0 is certified with Oracle JDK (1.6.0_24+). There are other JDKs listed but they're all in the Java 6 family, no Java 7.
Also, Oracle WebLogic Server 12.1.1.0.0 shows as certified with Oracle JDK 1.6.0_29+.
Of course, this is all as of this writing.

Java.lang.OutofmemoryError while loading message in mapping
Hi,
I encountered a Strange problem while performing message mapping.
I have to transform Orders05 message into another message format(the size of the XSD file is 17 KB) which has got 100 elements(approx count) in it.
After selecting the source message(Orders05) when i tried to select the target message (whihc was imported into XI as external definations), the system hangs up and i get below error message.

The system i tried this was a P4-processor512 MB RAM. so i used my laptop(1 GB RAM Intel centrino) to perform the same. But no change in message mapping, but the only thing i noticed was the system did not hangup.
Later i went to perform the same mapping on the server 3 GB RAM, dual processor. Initially the message could be selected as target field. But after performing 2-3 field level mapping, the Design time hanged up. I had to close the session and open up again to perform 2-3 field mappings again. This went on for over 20 times and only then i could finish the entire mapping.
I have never encountered such a problem earlier. Is there any solution to rectify this. My problem is, i have to perform 10 such mappings :-((

IntegrationBuilder in the left tree and increase parameter com.sap.aii.ib.client.jnlp.j2se.maxheapsize from 512m to 768m (or higherif necessary). Press the save button.
Goto http://<>:port/rep/support/admin/index.html,
press AII Properties on the left side and then press the REFRESH button until you see the new value on the right side.
if the problem is no resolved even after doing the above, take a look at a look at note:

But now i get this ... and google dont help me with the printed errors.

Edited by: 1008097 on 28.05.2013 00:12I think you should consider increasing heap size and check whether you still face the OOM. In addition to that you can consider implementing GC logging using: -verbose:gc -XX:PrintGCTimeStamps and other parameters..

You can consider implementing -XX:HeapDumpOnOutOfMemory or capture heap dump using jmap etc and check out the contents in the heap using MAT to understand the possible suspects.

I m trying to migrate my DB from mysql 5 to Oracle 10g .
I m meeting with some issues.
1) My table data are missing.
2) My foreign key indexing is missed.

Am not getting this error when running my application on this machine. I get the error on when I run it on windows vista where I have also installed Oracle 10g and running tomcat.
Yes Avi the ArrayList object is actually getting to big. Its returning more than 100 000 rows. I am using displaytag to do pegination. Any guidelines on how I can increase jvm heap memory on of tomcat?

Java.lang.OutOfMemoryError during transfer of large data from SAP to PI

We are trying to transfer large data from SAP to external system via PI but the transfer stucked in sm58 of SAP system with 'error java.lang.OutOfMemoryError'. We have tested before this and we can only get approximately 100K of records to go through successfully. We neeed approximately transfer 300k datas per time. Current setting of max heap size (in mb) of our PI system is 512 at message server and bootstap tab. At servers general tab the max heap size (in mb) is 2048 and its java parameters are having the values below:
-Xmx1024m
-Xms1024m
-Djco.jarm=1
-XX:PermSize=512m
-XX:MaxPermSize=512m
-XX:NewSize=320m
-XX:MaxNewSize=320m
What need to be increased to solve the error?

We can set a limit on the request body message length that can be accepted by the HTTP Provider Service on the Java dispatcher. The system controls this limit by inspecting the Content-Length header of the request or monitoring the chunked request body (in case chunked encoding is applied to the message). If the value of the Content-Length header exceeds the maximum request body length, then the HTTP Provider Service will reject the request with a 413 u201CRequest Entity Too Largeu201D error response. You can limit the length of the request body using the tting MaxRequestContentLength property of the HTTP Provider Service running on the Java dispatcher. By default, the maximum permitted value is 131072 KB (or 128MB).You can configure the MaxRequestContentLength property using the Visual Administrator tool. Proceed as follows:
1. Go to the Properties tab of the HTTP Provider Service running on the dispatcher.
2. Choose MaxRequestContentLength property and enter a value in the Value field. The length is specified in KB.
3. Choose Update to add it to the list of properties.
4. To apply these changes, choose (Save Properties).
The value of the parameter MaxRequestContentLength has to be set to a high value.
In short parameters to reset values for ABAP side are

We are developing some custom pages using OA. All the pages were working properly utill yestarday and all of of a sudden I started getting java.lang.OutOfMemoryError error in my local Jdeveloper.I have not installed any new software or any upgrade between now and then, and there has been no changes to my application either. I even tried running this page standalone. I uninstalled Jdeveloper and reinstalled it again still the same. When I copy the code from AM into my CO it works fine. What could be causing the issue ?

You may want to just display what the screen is displaying, so clip the rest beforehand, which would lead to a smaller buffered image. -

XML Publisher report failing with java.lang.outofmemoryerror.
Hi,
We have developed a custom Oracle report that produces an XML output file that is about 13M in size (about 18K rows from the database). When running report as concurrent request, post processing fails with java.lang.outofmemoryerror. The failure occurs when specifying output format as Excel, RTF or HTML. However, the process completes successfully when specifying output format as PDF. We have also noticed that Excel, RTF and HTML will complete successfully if the XML data file is smaller (around 3M).
Is anyone aware of a restriction on the size of the XML data file when specifying output formats Excel, RTF or HTML? We have tried setting temp directory but that has not helped.

Out of memory they can result from different causes:
- The application is consuming too many resources inappropriately
- The application is opening and not enough threads are closing, leaving no space for the JVM
- You lose the connection with database, causing the connection pool is saturated, which makes the memory of the container is depleted and reaches its peak.
- The container does not have sufficient resources or is not tuned to meet the load generated. But would recommend to discard the above before using this option, because when using this option could work around the problem but could not really be attacking the cause.
