Problems since being changed to ADSL2

I was changed over by BT to ADSL2 and my speed increased but I started getting regular disconnections.
Having reported this to BT over a month ago I still have no resolution to this issue.
Even had to take day off for Openreach engineer to visit who came and went stating he thought there was something at the xchange he needed to deal with and heard nothing since.
At the moment it seems to stay connected for longer with less disconnections where the BB light flashes orange but seems to hang repeatedly every few minutes at times where it says connected but I am unable to use the connection for anything.

As you will see in another strand I have had the same problem since 31 October.  4 engineers have visited, another is promised but not until the weather improves.  Everyone says it is some equipment in the exchange but can I get anyone to go and fix it...  Even emailing the Chief Exec and getting replies apparently from him has not brought any action.

    I have Verizon FiOS in Baltimore County MD.  Since the lineup change on Oct 1 I've noticed some bizarre audio issues and was curious if others had experienced anything similar.  For example I sat down to watch a movie on the new channel for Starz HD and there was no audio at all.  Great HD picture though.  I switched over to the regular, non-HD Starz channel and the audio was dubbed in Spanish.  Quite a few other channels, both HD and digital, have shown similar audio problems.  Anyone have any thoughts on this or experiencing similar issues?  Thanks for any input.

    I'm from Baltimore County as well (Randallstown) and I'm noticing the same thing. If I allow the channel to stay for a while, the picture will black out and I get a 'currently unavailabel' message on my screen. It's beginning to happen to a lot of channels. At first I thought it was just 680 Scr-fi, but now I'm discovering it's happening to just about ALL of the HD channels as well as a good number of SD channels. It's even happening to CNN. Now if I go up one and down one a couple times, sometimes it corrects itself and locks in the sound and picture. But if I change channels, I risk not being able to come back with everything in tact. What receiver are you using? I'm using the QIP 7216 multi-media HD DVR.

The boolean operators don't function properly. When I searched "fonts AND book", I got results including "and" being highlighted, got results without both words that were supposed to be there, and still don't know if the problem with iPhoto fonts when making books is here. I'll keep looking...

    Yes you solved your own question, use printer handles color, whcih shodul have been the default. If you do want to experiment with Photohsop manages color, try the CMYK profiles, and send a cmyk file. Only exception is if you print to one of the few RGB printers like a lambda.

    What is the exact name of the application you're trying to launch? Is it in the Applications folder?

  • Podcast is having issues since I changed the feed url

    Ever since I changed the feed url for my podcast in itunes I have problems with the feed not working properly.

    When I try to download random files or episodes in this podcast it wont download in itunes. I get an error code (-50) saying it could be a network problem. But if I go to the direct feed url which is this in safari browser. I can click on the mp3 link and it plays just fine. Then after doing that I can go back into itunes and click "get" on the exact same file that wasnt downloading earlier and now it downloads. Very odd. Once that is done all files in itunes download without any problems. I thought it was just something wrong with my itunes. But it only happens for my feed when I subscribe to it. I tried it on my windows system in itunes and having the exact same problem. I called a couple people up and its happeing with them in itunes also. When one of us accesses the feed by way other than itunes it will then work for awhile then go back to not working again. It started happening when I changed the url in itunes to have it point to the feedburner url. Im having the issue right now as a matter of fact. I cant even listen to the preview of each episode. Maybe someone can try the itunes feed and check it out for me. Any ideas?
    Its frustrating. Im wondering if I need to just submit a new podcast to itunes.
    PS: I posted this in itunes for windows, Im using both mac and windows. Its not specific to either OS.

    Im pretty sure the problem has been resolve. We own both the .org and the .com extensions of our website. The primary being the .org and a redirect if a user goes to the .com address. I use feeder to create the podcast feeds and it has an autofill feature in it. Somewhere along the line on the enclosures I inputed the .com address instead of .org. Why the redirect works just fine in most feed readers. Apparently itunes doesnt support it. One of the users in the feedburner forum picked up on this. I corrected all the enclosure urls to .org as they should be and everything so far works fine.

    I have downloaded every update and my battery life is better than any previous iPhone I have ever owned. I see posts from hundreds of people every day, and this is not a commonly reported problem. While there are a few random reports of battery problems, it is no more than I have seen for any other model or any other version of iOS in almost 8 years.   • Mail accounts don's save passwords since I changed to icloud

    I keep getting asked to insert my password for the three accounts I access via mail.  I can't get the preferences to save the passwords and can't get the passwords working with the keychain.  It seems that keychain isn't accepting passwords since I changed my system from mobile me to icloud.  I still have Mac OS X. version 10.6.8

    Your passwords are  being saved, I think what you are seeing is a server problem, instead of entering your password each time just click cancel and try again.

  • Openreach cable problems since upgrading to Infini...

    I have had daily, multiple disconnects practically every day since upgrading to Infinity at the end of November 2013. The issue has been escalated to a proactive team in Newcastle.
    There is a cable issue which needs replacing. The job has been booked in at least twice and Openreach apparently told Newcastle it was being changed last week. It wasn't and it still hasn't been done.
    Is there anything I can do to get them to do this work? And is this something the Ombudsman should get involved with?
    And, technically, how come I have been getting this wretched issue every day bar a handful of days, since the end of November 2013???!!
    Obviously not at all happy.

    Just got call from Openreach. Something about a rope being installed and the cable being changed tomorrow. I hope.
    Still, they did have the courtesy to call me and keep me informed so obviously not as miffed. Just praying this problem is resolved though as it's driving me nuts. Okay, nuttier

    i need to extend sales org , distribution Channel for a material .
    my table look like this and having 6 fields shown below

    the table im displaying in ALV , if user perss F4 in copy From SO and Copy From Distn  , i need to show the existing values for the material being changed , this is working fine and i am able to get the existing values.
    After user selects one of the existing value for SO and Distrn channel  , i need to copy all the values to newly created So and distrn Chnl  .
    i dont know how to proceed . Please help me to solve this problem.

    You can use AET to extend the sales area data of BP.  However, it wont add the fields automatically in GUI, But the generated fields are available in the relevant DB tables.
    BP GUI transaction is no more supported . Im not sure why you want to work on GUI.

    Essentially, the bare issue is that you have a 500GB hard drive with only 10GB free. That is not sufficient to run the system properly. The two options you have are to move/remove files to another location, or to install a larger hard drive (eg 2TB). Drive space has nothing to do with SMC firmware, and usually large media files are to blame.
    My first recommendation is this: download and run the free OmniDiskSweeper. This will identify the exact size of all your folders - you can drill down into the subfolders and figure out where your largest culprits are. For example, you might find that your Pictures folder contains both an iPhoto Library and copies that you've brought in from a camera but are outside the iPhoto Library structure. Or perhaps you have a lot of purchased video content in iTunes.
    If you find files that you KNOW you do not need, you can delete them. Don't delete them just because you have a backup, since if the backup fails, you will lose all your copies.
    Don't worry about "cleaners" for now - they don't save much space and can actually cause problems. Deal with the large file situation first and see how you get on.
    Let us know what you find out, and if you manage to get your space back.

  • Problems since phone restore and upgrade to 3.1.2

    On Thursday I restored my phone to factory settings due to calendar problems when syncing with MobileMe. I set the phone up as a new phone after installing 3.1.2 and the calendar issue resolved. But, since then, I can't get mail from my Exchange server at work and my other e-mail accounts, with the exception of MobileMe, work intermittently and pretty much only if I'm connected to WiFi. The phone doesn't recognize my home WiFi network anymore and I have to enter the password several times in order to connect -- it finally connects after that. Everything else is connecting to my WiFi just fine. Most annoying, however, is that the battery is draining like crazy. I haven't increased or changed the way I use my phone in the last two days -- in fact, I've only made one call and received two others. I've sent a few texts, but no more than usual, and have tried to check e-mail with no to poor results, as I've said. I'm needing to recharge twice daily with little to no use of the phone. The phone is approaching 2 years old -- is the battery simply dying and this exacerbated the problem?? I treat the phone well -- no drops or accidents with it and no such problems until I did the restore. It seems like others have had some problems since 3.1.2, so is that the problem??

    I went to the Apple store today and worked with a Genius on these problems. We're still in a diagnostic mode -- they were able to detect that the battery was going down more quickly but no clue as to why. They suggested restoring the phone one more time and then adding in one app at a time to see if an app is causing the problem, but they don't believe it's related to 3.1.2. Right now, my phone has nothing on it except for MobileMe and it seems to be holding a charge. It's still draining a bit more quickly than it did before 3.1.2 but as I add in more apps, I'll be able to determine what's causing the issues. Frustrating!

  • Numbers problem since update, type reverts or disappears.

    I have had a problem since i updated numbers after 4.2 came out. I keep tract of sales and to make it easier I copy and paste like information and change the customers name. Now that column reverts to the previous customer that I chnged. If i don't copy and paste that column the typing just disapears. Its driving me crazy does anyone know about this?

    You may try the list and see how far down you need to go; you have probably been through 1) and 2), and 4) is both reversible and more thorough than 3); 5) is hardly relevant, so you may end up with 6).
    The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
    If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.
