Problems to generate a graph using 2 views as 2 curves

Hello everybody
Please help me fix this problem.
Oracle 9i Database,reports-->graph wizard
I have 2 views in the database named FR1,FR2 and these 2 views are nothing but snapshots of data from a single table WDATA for selected data .
     The views are like this
     FR1                         FR2
     NO number(10)                    NO number(10)
     VALUE number(10)               VALUE number(10)
     Each view has 20 records of data
I need to generate a graph for the 2 views as 2 curves in graph for analysis with NO as X axis and VALUE as Y axis.
|.::::.
|
|________
But i couldn't manage to generate them.
When i write a query in report wizard like this
SELECT * FROM FR1 UNION SELECT * FROM FR2
I get 40 records but as a single view thereby not possible to generate 2 curves..In this case i get 1 curve with 40 points.
and if I say
SELECT * FROM FR1,FR2
I get 400 records as cartesian product of the 2 views which makes no sense.
Some one out there please help me..
Is my approach correct for generating graphs?
i'm using 9iDS and 9i DB
thanx in advance
regards
Jochen

jochen,
you need to join the two tables but use a where clause to prevent a cartesian product.
so the following select should work
select a.no, a.value, b.value
from fr1 a, fr2 b
where a.no = b.no

  • Performance problems to generate PDF files using CR

    Hi,
    I develop an application that read TXT files and uses this information to generate PDF files, but I'm having problems with performance to generate this PDF, each files are taking at least 1 minute to create the file. I realized that some TMP and RPT files are generated and deleted in the temp folder of the machine which is running the application, but after some time creating the PDF's the RPT files aren't deleted and I have an exception on my app:

    Hi,
    If you are using IIS5 the give aspnet full permission to the Temp folders. For IIS6 give  IIS_wpg permission.
    For this you need to right click on the folder,
    go to properties,
    security tab,
    click on Add,
    Type aspnet/iis_wpg,
    select top note in Location and click on check on check names.
    Give full control and
    click ok.
    Also try using GC.Collect(), reportDocObject.Close() and reportDocObject.Dispose() as clean up code.

  • Use view objects to display muti lines graph

    I need to create multiple lines on a line graph using data from view objects. I did see the demo that allows to add series but the data seems from tabular data.
    http://jdevadf.oracle.com/adf-richclient-demo/faces/feature/index.jspx?_afrLoop=39644483771460039#%2Ffeature%2Fgraph%2Fanimation.jspx%40
    Using Jdev 11.1.1.3
    I understand that each line is a series. I was able to show multiple lines but for supporting data while in reality need to show for different data such as for the stock market lines for Dow, nasdaq, S&P. I used order_lines tables and placed creation_date as x_axis and for lines/y-axis used three columns (product_value, product_id, linesCount)
    Might need to create some complex view or is there a way bind multiple views or view objects can't be used for this case?
    Thanks

    Thanks Shay. What I did was on the right track and is similar what you suggested.
    I was somewhat trying to validate what I did to display multi lines i.e. by placing in the Line field during graph configuration the attributes for each of lines/series.
    If need to display sale total for 5 departments over a year. The view object will have attributes as: sale_date, dept1_sale, dept2_sale, dept3_sale, dept4_sale, dept5_sale
    Then can chart it with sale_date as x-axis and ALL 5 dept sales on line/y-axis.
    By this had the correct structure and was able to generate the 5 lines correctly.
    Thanks

  • Problems building a graph using sql SUM

    Hello !
    i'm curently having issues to build a particular graph :
    First, i have a database (moves) which contains 2 columns (timestamp DATETIME, dist NUMERIC), i have no problems to display a graph with these values (even using a time range such 'now','-1 hours', etc.).
    But i'd like to build a graph with for example a 2 hours range which gonna display the sum of the value 'dist' every 30 seconds. So for example, if i have 2 'dist' values (3 and 4) at 0min 30sec, the graph will display 7 and the next value will be the sum of
    the next 30 secondes dist values.
    I tried this :
    curs.execute("SELECT timestamp,SUM(dist) AS dist30 FROM moves WHERE timestamp>datetime('now','-30secondes')"
    curs.execute("SELECT timestamp,dist30 FROM moves WHERE timestamp>datetime('now','-1 hours')"
    But it looks like the column dist30 is not created, and i think this is not gonna work if i want to change the 1 hour range...
    I would like a better "algorythme", the table is filled in an other program, should i directly create a 3  columns table and SUM the dist in dist30 directly ?
    Thanks for your advice !

    Hi Subby,
    Regarding your description, are you trying to rollup the dist column by every 30 seconds in a given 2 hours range? If my understanding I correct, you may reference the below sample. As you didn't post any detail about your function datetime(after the where
    clause), so the sample is just in a usual way.
    CREATE TABLE moves(timestamp DATETIME, dist NUMERIC)
    INSERT INTO moves VALUES('2015-02-13 14:20:01',1)
    INSERT INTO moves VALUES('2015-02-13 14:20:17',2)
    INSERT INTO moves VALUES('2015-02-13 14:20:29',5)
    INSERT INTO moves VALUES('2015-02-13 14:22:37',2)
    INSERT INTO moves VALUES('2015-02-13 14:22:56',5)
    INSERT INTO moves VALUES('2015-02-13 14:27:17',2)
    SELECT timestamp,SUM(dist) AS dist30 FROM(
    SELECT DATEADD(SECOND,DATEPART(SECOND,timestamp)%30*-1,timestamp) AS timestamp,dist FROM moves) AS T --rollup by every 30 seconds
    WHERE timestamp BETWEEN '2015-02-13 13:00:00' AND '2015-02-13 15:00:00' --two hour range
    GROUP BY timestamp

    I am using elements & premiere 12 on my PC using windows 7.  My problem is that photos in portrait view in slideshow are OK but when I move the slideshow to premiere to edit included video the portrait photos turn side-on and stretch when still in portrait view.  Is there any way to prevent this from happening?  Any comments would be appreciated.

    What is the Output option that you are selecting for the transfer of the Elements Organizer 12/12.1 slideshow to Premiere Elements 12/12.1 Editor?
    If you are using Edit with Premiere Elements output option, are you using the Premiere Elements command to break apart the Elements Organizer slideshow and then applying rotation to the portrait files? Or, it is this more than just a photo rotation matter?
    More on this in the morning.
    Please review and consider.
    Thank you.

  • Hw can I generate XY graphs directly in a vector data format for printing ie pdf

    A further question re. Printing of Graphs
    There are many similar questions but none where the answers are acceptably adiquite or two or three were the link was broken,
    "Developer exchange forums have been moved" and a pointer to the new
    site, unfort it was hard to find or guess the rest of the link.
    So here is my angle on this problem;
    So far I have tried;
    Using property node: "App.  Printing.Default Printer" to select the printer to use, then
    Using Report Functions to print controls;
    New Report, to generate a new report reference
    Set Report Orientation
    Set Report Margins
    Set Report Font
    Set Report Header Text
    Set Report Font
    Set Report Footer Text
    loop for each page
    Set Report Footer Text,     With page number
    Append Control Image to Report,      several times
    New Report Page
    Until the end of the last page
    Print Report
    Dispose Report
    Initially using existing XY-Graph controls from the front panel.  These
    are on a page of a Tab control to hide these controls while not in use
    and allow them to be hidden while generating the printout.
    Unfortunately when this page is hidden any graph scales set to
    autoscale don't, (normally don't need to and would otherwise be a waste
    of processor time), resulting in graph plots going off scale or
    becoming a line along the axis.
    An issue is that what is printed appears to be read from the screen, so resolution is much
    lower than required for for printing, resulting in rather pixellated
    printed versions. These prints will usually be emailed, so tried the
    pdf995 "printer driver" but the resulting pdf file size is rather large.
     Currently trying Plot-XY on a much larger picture so as to get
    adequate resolution for printing, however suspect this will result in
    much larger pdf files and probably cause other problems.
    The preferred solution in this case will probably be to generate print
    output, instead of based on raster images (ie jpg or png), but on a
    vector format, maybe via postscript or directly in pdf format.
    Similar graphs currently printed from Excel via pdf995
    (or OpenOffice) result in files around 20 kb per page. these can be printed at any size
    (at least upto 64 times) without becoming pixellated, so assume these
    are vector based.
    Currently a page with 4 XY Graph controls uses around 40 to 45 kb per
    page but resolution is poor and overcoming that may push file size up
    to 150 to 200 kb per page, and the whole job can be 50 to 100 pages.
    Are there any functions to generate XY graphs directly in a vector data format preferably in pdf or via PostScript format.
    Cheers
    Darryl

    Hi Darryl,
    I was able to reproduce the issue you were seeing, in which a report generation was taking up a large amount of space per page in a PDF utility. I found; however, using my attached VI (notice that it is set to *.png) and the CutePDF utility (free download at http://www.cutepdf.com/) I was able to get a per page size of about 10 KB. Also using the png I found that the image quality seemed to be quite high.
    Please try incorporating this solution into your application and see if it reduces your file sizes.
    Thanks and have a good evening!

  • Master/Details Relationship using View Links is not not population data

    Hi,
    I have problem in generating proper data in master/detail relationship using view links passing three parameters between two custom tables can guide me the steps and process how i will able to generate and acheive this requirement.
    very urgent
    Please suggest me

    Without further details, I'd suggest reviewing the following Section of the Fusion Developers Guide:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31974/web_masterdetail.htm#ADFFD758
    I've done this many times without issue.

  • Building tree using view crateria in view objects

    suppose that i have the following tables "class" ,"group" and "item".
    items in table "item" belong to groups in table "group" and groups belong to classes in table "class" .
    suppose there is another table called "selling_basket" that contains an id for the customer and also a foreign key for rows in item table for the items he sold and a "Customer" table that contains customers id and other informations.
    suppose that i want to build an JSF page that contains a table from a view based on the "customer" table and a tree of herarichy - class
    |_group1
    |_item1
    |_item2
    -class2
    |_group2
    |_item3
    |_group3
    and when i click on a row on table customer the tree only display the herarichy for items that this customer sold just.

    i solve the probel the description as follow :
    . the problem : the problem is that when we use the tree model component with the scenario of filtration on the child nodes, we do a normal transactions of steps on the knowledge that the tree will use the master detail behavior as in table component and other ADF Master-details behaviors, so we build two view criteria one on employee and the other on department with the scenario of displaying only the department who has employees with salary equal some certain value, and only shows the employees who has salary equal that value, and on our code we apply the two criteria on the two view objects with the same value we entered to search for , the scenario works well for the top level nodes, but for child nodes it seems it doesn’t work, the behavior make us walk around our selves for why this happened. By debugging options and Tracing what SQL statements that it executes we found that the system execute two statements on the employee view object one with the bind value with the same we inserted and the other with null value, and we notice that the name of the second view object executed is not what we apply the view criteria for(departmentEO_employeeEO_emo_dept_FK_employeeView).
    .The solution: we notice that the tree component doesn’t use master detail behavior as in tables, and instead of that it uses the View link assessors (the run time generated view object departmentEO_employeeEO_emo_dept_FK_employeeView ), to get the detailed items, so we should override the action of the View link assessor.
    To deal with that we generate the view object rowimpl and viewimpl java classes, in the rowimpl class there is a method to call the link assessors with the following code:
    public RowIterator getEmployeesView()
    this.getAttributeInternal(EMPLOYEESVIEW);
    We write our code:
    public RowIterator getEmployeesView()
    System.out.println("Here");
    ViewObject s=((DepartmentsViewImpl)this.getViewObject()).getViewLinks()[0].getDestination();//we get the employee object by using the view link
    // between department and employee
    // then we apply the view criteria to that view object and return it as view link
    System.out.println("row number "+s.getEstimatedRowCount());
    ViewCriteria evc=s.getViewCriteriaManager().getViewCriteria("EmployeesViewCriteria");
    s.ensureVariableManager().setVariableValue("nSal",((DepartmentsViewImpl)this.getViewObject()).getnSal());
    s.applyViewCriteria(evc);
    s.executeQuery();
    return s;
    Notice that we use the employee view object getted by the view link instead of the master details.

  • Can Designer generate ADF Entity Objects, View Objects and Apps Module ?

    Hi all,
    On what way can Designer integrate with JDeveloper (+ ADF) ?
    Can Designer generate ADF Entity Objects, View Objects and Apps Module ?
    Thank you for your help,
    xtanto

    Designer itself has no direct integration with JDeveloper. However, there are three options. First of all, you can get a JDeveloper extension (download this separately) that lets you create a Connection to a Designer repository. From that Connection you can find modules that you defined in Designer and generate Entity and View objects for the tables and columns that you used in those modules, and an Application Module. It does not create JSPs or other user interface objects.
    Another option is to buy JHeadstart from Oracle. This contains a set of code generators and ADF extensions that include an ability to get information from a Designer repository. JHeadstart works fine for non-Designer users too, but was built by the same people who wrote Designer Headstart - they know the repository API intimately.
    The third option is to download Oracle Designer Extension Builder (ODEB) which was just recently made available. This is a product of a collaboration between Designer users from the Oracle Development Tools Users Group (ODTUG) and Oracle to extend the capabilities of Designer with user written tools and utilities. You could use ODEB to write your own generators for ADF Business Components. Or you could wait and see if someone else in the user community does this. I hope that you or whoever does such a generator will be willing to share it with us all.

  • PCI 6602:How can I use the digital lines of the board and in the same time to generate pulse train using a counter?

    Hello!
    My problem appeared when I tried to update my code from Traditional NI-DAQ Legacy to DAQmx.
    I am using 2 counters (counter 5 and counter 7)  from PCI-6602, to generate pulse train, and also the Digital I/O lines of the port 0 (the lines form 0 to 7). What I do in my application is that I am starting to generate the pulse train on the output of the 2 counters, and after that I am playing with the state of the digital lines.
    In traditional there was no problem using the counters and the digital lines in the same time, everything was going perfectly, but in DAQmx this is not possible.
    What happens: I start to generate pulse train on the output of the counters,  no errors encountered, but when I try to modify the state of one line of the digital port the generation of the pulse train is stopped. This is happening when I start the task associated to the digital port.
    My question is: it is possible to create a channel on the digital lines without altered the channels created for the counters?
    Another thing what I manage to see using the  "Measurement & Automation Explorer" and Test panels for PCI-6602, basically is the same thing, I generate pulse train on the output of the counter 7 and try to start a task on the digital line, but I get one error :
    "Error -200022 occurred at Test Panel
    Possible Reason(s):
    Measurements: Resource requested by this task has already been reserved by a different task.
    Device: Dev4
    Terminal: PFI8"
    Instead if I use the counter 0 or counter 1 to generate pulse train I don't encounter the same problem.
    Which resources are used by the counters 2 to 7 from the PCI-6602 board and the counters 0 and 1 do not use?
    Thank in advance for any replies!

    Hello Jordan, thank you for your reply.
    I am sorry but I can not see or run your example, I don't use LabView, I use Visual C++ for developing.
    Here is the code for generating the pulse train:
    GeneratePulseTrain(unsigned long ulCount1, unsigned long ulCount2)

        nStatus = DAQmxCreateTask("",&m_taskHandle);

    the error message is :""" "V_T685A" is not defined in the ABAP Dictionary as a table, projection view or database view."""
    i wrote : select single VTEXT1 from V_T685A into w_cst_jin1 where
                        KSCHL = 'JIN1' and
                        KAPPL = 'V'.
    how to retrive the data.
    waiting for quick response
    Regards

    Hi
    This is a Maintenance View, not a Database View
    SO can't fetch data using select statement.
    You can use the Table <b>T685</b> directly to fetch the condition Types data straight away instead of the view. write the same select for this table and use.

  • Object reference not set to an instance of an object error when generating a schema using flat file schema wizard.

    I have a csv file that I need to generate a schema for. I am trying to generate a schema using flat file schema wizard but I keep getting "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." error when I am clicking on the Next button after
    specifying properties of the child elements on the wizard. At the end I get schema file generated but it contains an empty root record with no child elements.
    I thought may be this is because I didn't have my project checked out from the Visual SourceSafe db first but I tried again with the project checked out and got the same error.
    I also tried creating a brand new project and generating a schema for it but got the same error.
    I am not sure what is causing Null Reference exception to be thrown and there is nothing in the Windows event log that would tell me more about the problem.
    I am using Visual Studio 2008 for my BizTalk development.
    I would appreciate if some has any insides on this issue.

    Hi,
    To test your environment, create a new BizTalk project outside of source control.
    Create a simple csv file on the file system.
    Name,City,State
    Bob,New York,NY
    Use the Flat file schema Wizard to create the flat file schema from your simple csv instance.
    Validate the schema.
    Test the schema using your csv instance.
    This will help you determine if everything is ok with you environment.
    Thanks,
    William
