Problems while trying to connect to a MySQL database

Java throws the following exception when I try to run the code: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: DBConnect
I don't know what the problem is. My classpath should be in order, since it doesn't have to point to anything else than the JDBC driver for MySQL to work right?
import java.sql.*;
public class DBConnect {
public static void main(String[] args) {
try {
Class.forName("org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver");
String sourceURL = "jdbc:mysql:@fyr.cs.auc.dk:3306:e1202";
String user = "xxxxxx";
String password = "xxxxxx";
Connection databaseConnection = DriverManager.getConnection(sourceURL, user, password);
System.out.println("Connection established");
databaseConnection.close();
catch (ClassNotFoundException cnfe) {
System.err.println(cnfe);
catch (SQLException sqle) {
System.err.println(sqle);
}

Hi,
I still feel this is the problem in setting the CLASSPATH. Just few tips as it seems u r using Win env.
1 - create a seperate bat file and execute in ur command shell.
2 - Get command shell from Start -> Program files -> etcc.. not using cmd from run. (On some win env u will get prolems)
3 - echo ur CLASSPATH ( Remover SPACES any).
4 - If u put ;.; then execute from that dir where u hv class. Otherise put complete path as c:\..\.. etc
As u mentioned u had checked ur CLASSPATH, but i still feel it has to do something with CLASSPATH.
HTH,

  • Getting error while trying to connect to the oracle database using SQL Deve

    Hi everybody,
    I installed sql developer and want to make a new connection, but it shows:Status: Failure- Test failed:IO Error:The Network Adapter could not establish the connection.
    Please anybody help me. Appreciate you, in help.
    Thank You,

    This is usually a problem with either your connection definition, or the basic network setup.
    Try following the trouble shooting steps here

    Your Mac must be on Lion (10.7) to run iCloud. Apple had to change the operating system to fully support it. Nevertheless, it is possible to get emails from iCloud without having Lion. Please tell me if this interests you.
    Anyways, here is the link to buy Lion (30 dollars, totally worth the upgrade ): http://itunes.apple.com/be/app/os-x-lion/id444303913?mt=12

  • An error occurred while trying to connect to a Web service, when InfoPath web enabled form loads.

    Hi Everyone,
    I am getting an error message: An error occurred while trying to connect to a web service, when my InfoPath form tries to load.  The last few days, it only spits this error message in the morning and around 12pm-1pm it resolves itself and the form loads
    fine the rest of the day, oddly enough.
    A few things about my form:
    1). It is web enabled
    2). The form submits to a form library on the SP server
    3). I use the UserProfileService data connection in the form to auto-populate a few fields
    4). I use a udcx file with correct language stored in the root of the site collection in the data connection library
    5). The form has been working fine until a few days ago
    I noticed while in Central Administration, that the User Profile Service Synchronization is Stopped.  Not sure if this is causing some or all of the problem. If I need to start it I will need to contact my farm administrator to do this, since I do not
    have the service account information.
    Also, I looked thru the log files on the SharePoint server and found the following by searching for the Correlation ID shown when the error comes up, I won't put in everything just the important messages.
    Schema file was already loaded: BuiltInActiveXControls.xsd
    FormServer Partial Trust - Proxy operation invoked in the SHIM process.
    FormServer Partial Trust - Invoking proxy operation for Web service adapter failed with exception Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object. for Url=https://<SP URL>/_vti_bin/UserProfileService.asmx
    Data adapter failed during OnLoad: The custom code in the form cannot be run. This functionality may be deactivated on the server. For more information, contact the server farm administrator.
    The following query failed: GetUserProfileByName (User: , Form Name: Expense Report, IP: , Connection Target: <SP URL>/Data Connections/GetUserProfileByName.udcx, Request: , Form ID: urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:infopath:Expense-Report:-myXSD-2014-04-11T21-06-32
    Type: DataAdapterException, Exception Message: The custom code in the form cannot be run. This functionality may be deactivated on the server.

    Hi B.,
    You are on the right track. I recommend that you first get the User Profile Synchronization Service started because that itself could be the root cause of the issue.
    If that doesn't fix it then focus your attention on the GetUserprofileByName data connection. I always use my secure store ID for this connection. I add the ID by editing the udcx file and then publishing it again.
    Hope this helps.

  • Trying to setup new iCloud in system preferences and get error message: "iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server."

    Here's the sequence of events:
    Setting up a new iMac.
    Migration Assistant was aborted during setup and a normal setup was completed.
    Then ran Migration Assistant from the newly setup account.
    It ran fine, but put all the data in a new account called "user".
    Renamed "user" to a new name, renamed the home folder to a new name following these instructions: OS X: How to change your account name or home directory name
    Delete the account we originally created, so just have one account with the name we want and all the data, email. Works fine.
    Sign into the App Store with the account we share for purchases.
    Now, the problem:
    Go to System Preferences to setup iCloud with a new Apple ID
    Get this error: "iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server."
    So I'm unable to setup iCloud for photo stream, FaceTime, etc.
    Internet works fine, we can get mail, etc.
    Rebooting doesn't help
    Ideas?

    never mind the problem is gone this morning.

  • Why do i get an error message while trying to connect to airport network?

    i just installed an airport card in an iMac G5, archived and installed Tiger, updated everything (while connected via ethernet) and now when i'm trying to connect to the wi fi network in the house i keep on getting a message saying there's an error while trying to connect to the network. i have a PowerMac G5 connected wirelessly with no problems, i have an iBook connected to an Airport Express via ethernet and a Mac Mini connected to an ethernet port on the Airport Extreme Base Station. there's a DSL modem connected to the other ethernet port on the Base Station. occasionally the iMac will connect to the network, but that's once every few restarts or log outs.
    help.

    i called apple support and they said after trying tons of software related tweaks and such that it's probably the airport card and to see if it's in correctly and if it is just exchange it for a new one.

    Hi Jithendar,
    If you can send the ULS log entries which has that Correlation ID, it would be more helpful.
    The text you send is only the ID of the entries and dont give any clue to us about your problem.

  • TS3988 I can't sign in to iCloud, message pops up stating that "iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server". How do I sign in to iCloud now?

    Was using iCloud just fine on Mac and iPad and suddenly can't access it from either devices.
    When reviewing the settings on iPad a "verification failed, could not communicate with the server" message pops up.
    When trying to access iCloud account on icloud.com a "iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server" message pops up.
    Meanwhile iCloud no longer works on both devices. (Apple ID works fine on Manage my Account)
    I don't remember changing any iCloud settings but I was working on email account settings when this happened....Any ideas??

    I have the same problem. This happens multiple times a day. I answer some questions and then unlock my account and then before long it all happens again. Extremely frustrating as I don't have a clue how to solve the problem.
