Problems with CS4 flash player

Question

I'm trying to embed a CS4's built-in Flash player using the swfobject to play an FLV.  Currently everything works appropriately on PC, but on Mac instead of playing the video the browser just shows the components of the skin (see below).                                            
I've used the modified swfobject that comes with DW CS4 and some javascript to load the file dynamically.  I'm not great with javscript, but I have used it to embed Flash a few times with another FLV player.  Here's the script I used:

Any ideas what is goign wrong?  Thanks.

Update: I found an article that suggests that this problem only occurs when files are viewed locally and that putting them on a server will fix it.  Is there any way around this?  These files need to be viewed locally because they will be on a DVD.  Thanks.
