Problems with IPC

Hello together,
we' re building a ISA-like java-application for a customer. We try to use the same framework as the standard isa-app. Via IPC we are getting the characteristics of a product und configuring it. This works with the 3.1 version of the crm and ipc.  But then there was made a upgrade to crm 4.0 and ipc 4.0.  At the moment nothing of the configuration-part works. I am trying to use the ipccore.jar, but at this point I can't get any characteristics from my IPCItem. So I want to create another IPCSession and getting this characteristcs via a new IPCDocument and IPCItem, with the same productId.
If I use the constructor of the DefaultIPCDocumentProperties for creating a new IPCDocument, my action can't get instanced and throws a java.lang.IncompatibleClassChangeError. In a standalone java-application this thing works fine. Knows someone any Problems with such a problem? Or maybe another solution for getting my characteristics from the ipc?
Thank you in advance.
Best regards
Thorsten Boersch

Had the same problem on RedHat 5.2. The problem is caused by
protections on files in /tmp/.oracle. Those files are unix-
domain sockets, owned by root. The root ownership is caused by
the set-uid bits of $ORACLE_HOME/bin/tnslsnr and/or
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/lsnrctl, and the fact that this file is owned
by root (which is caused by the root.sh shell script from the
installation procedure).
: Any hints ????
After changing the ownership of lsnrctl and/or (sorry I'm not
sure) tnslsnr everything worked fine. Hope it helps for you too

  • Problems with IPC on CRM

    Hi, I have a CRM 4.0 system, when I try to create a SLA service contract, I get an error "No connection could be made to IPC", I guess this is normal because I didn't install an IPC server, my question is
    Is possible to disable the IPC on the CRM ?
    Or the IPC must be installed ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
      You need IPC in CRM for prices. Please install the same.

  • Problems with MSA - IPC communication

    Hello.
    We experience some problems with MSA -> IPC communication on our Mobile Clients.
    The version of CRM is 7.0.
    The problem seems to be related to mobile clients switching status (online | offline | vpn connected | disconnected | etc).
    It is difficult to predict the behaviour of a general salesperson, but regardless when the mobile client is awaken and MSA is already running, the connection to the IPC should work, right ?
    I wonder if anyone else has experienced any problems related to this ?
    Our platform is Windows 7, we use Checkpoint vpn-client.
    From what i've seen during testing, the problem is not consistent, it arises at odd times but it seems to be related to Network/VPN connection.
    What we have done is edit the tomcat\conf\server.xml file to bind tomcat to localhost address: 127.0.0.1. I've not been able to reproduce the problem when binding tomcat to this address. However, i would really appreciate any feedback on this matter.
    BR Gerhard.

    Does the user has Admin rights for the laptop ?

    Especially with certificate authentication.

    Try 3.1.04063 that came out at 07-24-13.
    TAC said that there are some fixes in it...

  • Potential Problems with Airplay and Mountain Lion

    Hey Everyone,
    I recently purchased an Apple TV, and I tried to use Airplay with our Macbook Pros. Airplay would work with all of the iOS Devices, but when it came to using with the MBP, it would either show a black screen, or a frozen image of my screen. I called AppleCare, and the rep told me it was a problem with the AppleTV, so I returned it and bought a new one, and it did the same thing. I found out that the problem was occuring because of the type of router I was using. I have a dualband router, and I set everything on one band of the router. I decided to try to place the laptops on a different band, and that's all it took. My airplay now works flawlessly.
    So, if you're having a problem with airplay, and you have a dualband router, try placing your computer & iOS devices on the opposite band, and it should work perfectly.
    Hope this helps.

  • Problem with Xsan 2.1.1 and Mac Os server 10.5.6

    Hi,
    We have a big problem with xsan 2.1.1 and Mac Os server 10.5.6.
    - We have one server, is a Open Directory Master, and also is a metadata controller of xsan2. The Volumes of xsan2 are shares via afp, and the clients (moreless 50) connect with server via afp.
    - We have some problems, one of them is:
    odm fsm [341]: XSAN FSS 'VolDocs [0] ' : Invalid inode lookup: 0x7f80000000007e0 markers 0x0/0x0 nextiel 0x0
    This message is always in the log. We stop the volume, and start cvfsck -wv, but dont have anything, how fix it??
    - Another problem is with AFP service, suddenly the service stop, and the error is :
    mds [58] (error) Server: Mach error queueing checkin to peer manager: (ipc /send) invalid port right.
    -What of the meaning of (ipc/send) invalid port right??.
    And the last error is:
    -com.appelAppleFileServer [347] MDSChannelPeerRequest: (ipc/rcv) timed out.
    Need Help please!.

    My configuration:
    - Master Directory:
    Hardware Configuration:
    Model: Xserve
    Processor: 2x2,8 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    Memory 8 Gb
    Disk: 70,04 Tb
    Software:
    Kernel Version: 9.6.0
    System Version: Mac OS X Server 10.5.6
    Xsan 2.1.1
    Services: AFP, DNS, Open Directory RADIUS
    Status: connected Users: 37
    This server is the open directory Master and metadata controller of xsan2, but we have another server that is open directory replica and metadata controller of xsan2. The fisrt server have too many errors with afp, the service stop and the server is dead, and you must restart via terminal with the command sudo reboot. I dont know what happen, do you help me please?

  • Problems with Oracle 11g on Win2008 server

    Hi all,
    we changed our database 10g on W2K3 to 11g with Win 2008 server on weekend
    Since yesterday we have problems with the database. On monday we had no problems.
    The problems begun on tuesday. The assemly lines are connecting to the server with a tnsnames.ora, who placed on a networkshare.
    here the tnsnames.ora:
    # TNSNAMES.ORA Network Configuration File: C:\Oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\NETWORK\ADMIN\tnsnames.ora
    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.
    IFILE=M:\TNSNAMES\tnsnames.ora

    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = caq01)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = qsys)
    Every PC on the assembly lines has this tnsnames.ora and a connection to the mapping M:
    Today we had already the same problem. Some PCs got a connection to the DB and some got suddenly no connection.
    After 15 minutes diagnostics we stopped and started the db.
    The PCs got after the restart a connection.
    On the clients is the oracle client 10g installed, but I think thats not the problem.
    I don't know whats the problem can be.
    I hope you can help me or have some idea's?
    The TNSnames.ora on the server:

    The first problem we solved yesterday, we had two oralb1 entrences in the dns as static.
    One of them we deleted.
    The dns should be not a problem now.
    an idea? I hope so....

    The TNSnames.ora on the server:tnsnames is used only by client processes. When you say "on the server" are you talking about the one pointed to by the IFILE in the local tnsnames shown above? If not, if this just happens to be the tnsnames on the database server, then it has no bearing on your problem.

    At a previous employer we used a shared tnsnames file. It was not on the db server but on a file server, specifically for shareing. Occasionally there would be an issue with the network connection to that file server, or our dimwit SA would change the sharing permissions. Of course he claimed there was no issue on his end and I had to take my own network traces to prove it was.

  • Strange problem with Database LInk

    Hi Everyone,
    I have strange problem with Database Link in Oracle 11g Express Edition;
    There are two computers: computer-server and computer-client. Tnsnames.ora are the same on both computers ie.
    CT =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = krzysztof)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = XE)
    I created database link :
    Create database link zdalny
    Connect to <user_id> identified by <password>
    using ‘CT’;
    Client can’t connect with server when I am using above command. But when I change “using” for using ‘krzysztof:1521’ or using ‘krzysztof’ or using ‘server IP:1521’ – everything is ok.
    Why I am asking. Because in all materials which I am reading about Oracle command with using ‘CT’ should be working correct. But there is not. Do you know, why?
    Thanks in advance and apologize for my English.

    PS. I tried with using 'XE' - not working.Assuming that is the correct tnsnames, of course XE is not working. You don't have a tnsnames entry for 'XE'.
    You need to be aware that when using a dblink, the client is the db in which the link is defined, not the desktop from which you connect to that database.
    I think you need to start here:
    http://edstevensdba.wordpress.com/2011/02/26/ora-12154tns-03505/
    http://edstevensdba.wordpress.com/2011/02/09/sqlnet_overview/ (Help! I can’t connect to my database )
    http://edstevensdba.wordpress.com/2011/02/16/sqlnet_client_cfg/ (Help! I can’t connect to my database (part duex) )
    The fact that your client (db link) is a database doesn't change anything taught in the above.

    The client debug is a good place to start and here is a document explaining that process.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps430/products_tech_note09186a008091b08b.shtml
    You many want to do dot11 debugs as well. But sniff the air first and see what activity you see... Also check your clients for a possible misconfig.

  • A problem with threads

    I am trying to implement some kind of a server listening for requests. The listener part of the app, is a daemon thread that listens for connections and instantiates a handling daemon thread once it gets some. However, my problem is that i must be able to kill the listening thread at the user's will (say via a sto button). I have done this via the Sun's proposed way, by testing a boolean flag in the loop, which is set to false when i wish to kill the thread. The problem with this thing is the following...
    Once the thread starts excecuting, it will test the flag, find it true and enter the loop. At some point it will LOCK on the server socket waiting for connection. Unless some client actually connects, it will keep on listening indefinatelly whithought ever bothering to check for the flag again (no matter how many times you set the damn thing to false).
    My question is this: Is there any real, non-theoretical, applied way to stop thread in java safely?
    Thank you in advance,
    Lefty

    This was one solution from the socket programming forum, have you tried this??
    public Thread MyThread extends Thread{
         boolean active = true;
         public void run(){
              ss.setSoTimeout(90);
              while (active){
                   try{
                        serverSocket = ss.accept();
                   catch (SocketTimeoutException ste){
                   // do nothing
         // interrupt thread
         public void deactivate(){
              active = false;
              // you gotta sleep for a time longer than the
              // accept() timeout to make sure that timeout is finished.
              try{
                   sleep(91);
              }catch (InterruptedException ie){
              interrupt();
    }

  • Problem with Threads and a static variable

    I have a problem with the code below. I am yet to make sure that I understand the problem. Correct me if I am wrong please.
    Code functionality:
    A timer calls SetState every second. It sets the state and sets boolean variable "changed" to true. Then notifies a main process thread to check if the state changed to send a message.
    The problem as far I understand is:
    Assume the timer Thread calls SetState twice before the main process Thread runs. As a result, "changed" is set to true twice. However, since the main process is blocked twice during the two calls to SetState, when it runs it would have the two SetState timer threads blocked on its synchronized body. It will pass the first one, send the message and set "changed" to false since it was true. Now, it will pass the second thread, but here is the problem, "changed" is already set to false. As a result, it won't send the message even though it is supposed to.
    Would you please let me know if my understanding is correct? If so, what would you propose to resolve the problem? Should I call wait some other or should I notify in a different way?
    Thanks,
    B.D.
    Code:
    private static volatile boolean bChanged = false;
    private static Thread objMainProcess;
       protected static void Init(){
            objMainProcess = new Thread() {
                public void run() {
                    while( objMainProcess == Thread.currentThread() ) {
                       GetState();
            objMainProcess.setDaemon( true );
            objMainProcess.start();
        public static void initStatusTimer(){
            if(objTimer == null)
                 objTimer = new javax.swing.Timer( 1000, new java.awt.event.ActionListener(){
                    public void actionPerformed( java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt){
                              SetState();
        private static void SetState(){
            if( objMainProcess == null ) return;
            synchronized( objMainProcess ) {
                bChanged = true;
                try{
                    objMainProcess.notify();
                }catch( IllegalMonitorStateException e ) {}
        private static boolean GetState() {
            if( objMainProcess == null ) return false;
            synchronized( objMainProcess ) {
                if( bChanged) {
                    SendMessage();
                    bChanged = false;
                    return true;
                try {
                    objMainProcess.wait();
                }catch( InterruptedException e ) {}
                return false;
        }

    Thanks DrClap for your reply. Everything you said is right. It is not easy to make them alternate since SetState() could be called from different places where the state could be anything else but a status message. Like a GREETING message for example. It is a handshaking message but not a status message.
    Again as you said, There is a reason I can't call sendMessage() inside setState().
    The only way I was able to do it is by having a counter of the number of notifies that have been called. Every time notify() is called a counter is incremented. Now instead of just checking if "changed" flag is true, I also check if notify counter is greater than zero. If both true, I send the message. If "changed" flag is false, I check again if the notify counter is greater than zero, I send the message. This way it works, but it is kind of a patch than a good design fix. I am yet to find a good solution.
    Thanks,
    B.D.

  • Problem with threads running javaw

    Hi,
    Having a problem with multi thread programming using client server sockets. The program works find when starting the the application in a console using java muti.java , but when using javaw multi.java the program doesnt die and have to kill it in the task manager. The program doesnt display any of my gui error messages either when the server disconnect the client. all works find in a console. any advice on this as I havent been able to understand why this is happening? any comment would be appreciated.

    troy,
    Try and post a minimum code sample of your app which
    does not work.
    When using javaw, make sure you redirect the standard
    error and standard output streams to file.

    I dont understand what you mean by redirection to file? some of my code below.
