Problems with Serializable
hello for all
I am using a class model that this inside of a package (. jar) to access an EJB and when I call a method of the Remote interface the exception is generated:
Exception executeIncluir Handler: failed to unmarshal cookie; nested exception i:
java.io.NotSerializableException: model.FaixaDimensional
But the class FaixaDimensional implements the Serializable class.
A particularity of model class is that it use it, as a recursive class.
Please, help me
I don't think the whole hierarchy has to be serializable because Object is not serializable. Even if your class implements Serializable every one of its instance variables must also implement it or you have to mark them as transient. The error indicates that cookie is not serializable which I don't know if that's true or not.

Problem with Serialization from Threads
I'm quite new to java threads, and i'm doing a simple server.
It opens a thread for every socket connection that is opened, so the Socket is extern to the Thread.
When I try to serialize on the socket a Vector (that contains Vectors, etc..) that is extern to the Thread, the first time everything goes ok, but when the thread modifies some variables in some objects contained in a vector(that, i repeat is extern to the thread), the serialized object doesn't seem to change, and the client continues receiving the same variables, without change.
In a first time i thought that maybe creating a thread, the second one took a copy of the space of addresses of the main one(and so when i modify a variable from a thread the variable in the main thread didn't change), but i read that java uses the same space of addresses for every thread, so i don't really know what it could be.
Maybe i've not been clear so i make an example:
MyType is a class containing some fields, let's put x and y
In the class MainClass i have an istance of this class, and also a socket and from here i open a thread of class MyThread
MyThread modifies x and y in a object of MyType contained in the "3D array" that is in MainClass
Then from that thread i serialized on the socket (which was been passed by MainClass).
Well, doing this way the vector that the client receives has always the x and y fields unchanged.
Please help me, cause i've been thinking all day of what it could be and found nothing on the web.

The client still receives the vector with objects

I think the problem is that the thread can only access
to a copy of the class that contains the vector, and
so when i send the real one, it isn't changed.not likely. one of the things about threads is that they share everything but local (read: non-Object) data. All objects are accessible to any thread of your application, as long as that thread has a reference to it. -
Problem with Serializable JDO objects containing Hashtables
Hi,
I have a simple JDO object which contains a Hashtable and I would like to
declare as Serializable. It seems though, that whenever I serialize this
object, I get a NullPointerException. I've written a bare-bones test case
and reproduced the exception, so I suspect this may be an enhancement issue.

You're getting that exception because that sun.awt.image.OffScreenImage class doesn't implement the Serializable interface.

Problem with writing and reading using serialization
I am having a problem with writing and reading an object that has another object in it. The purpose of the class is to write a order that has multiple items in it. And there will be several orders. This is for an IB project, where one of the requirements is to utilize a hierarchical composite data structure. That is, it is "one that contains more than one element and at least one of the elements is a composite data structure. Kilik07ok i got reading to work to a certain extent... but the prob is i cnt seem to save my innerCustOrdObj proprly...when ever i look for a record using the gotorecordbtn, the outerobject, which is the orderDetails, seems to change but the innerCustOrdObj remains the same... heres the new code..

Serialization problem with FlashPlayer 10.1
Hi,
here is a message that I have post in the AS3 section (http://forums.adobe.com/message/2938096), but someone gave the hint that this section should be more appropriate.
A call in remote method, using amf/BlazeDS, is failing for the following reason :
"The expected argument types are (int, myPackage.MyClassVO[]) but the supplied types were (java.lang.Double, java.lang.Object[]) and converted to (java.lang.Integer, null).
Cannot convert typeflex.messaging.io.amf.ASObject with remote type specified as 'null' toan instance of class myPackage.MyClassVO"
So the serialization is failing.
MyClassVO have only int variables, so nothing fancy.
The point is that it works perfectly with previous versions of Flash, except 10.1
So the definitions of the VOs are not the problem.
Does any change have been done in the new flash player, with the serialization ? Does someone have also experience serialization problems with this new flash player ?

Environment : Windows 32bits (but happens on Mac OS as well)

Browser : Firefox, Opera, IE... they all have the problemHi,
by digging more and more, it appears that the problem is really on flash side.
This error appears on java side :
"Cannot convert type flex.messaging.io.amf.ASObject with remote type specified as 'null' to an instance of class myPackage.MyClassVO
flex.messaging.io.amf.translator.decoder.DecoderFactory.invalidType(DecoderFact ory.java:369)"
So after a look on the function invalidType in DecoderFactory, it apprears that
object.getClass().getName();
returns "flex.messaging.io.amf.ASObject" instead of "myPackage.MyClassVO"
So Java don't recieve the correct type MyClassVO, but ASObject.
And that only in FlashPlayer 10.1, but not FlashPayer 9 or FlashPlayer 10, where Java recieve the correct type, MyClassVO.
Any help will be gladly appreciated, I'm running out of idea !

B) create an object for each movie using the information from the text file
C) place the objects into an arrayList

You realy can do it like Xiang says, but the better way is to use packages. That's
the way BEA is designed for. If you use packages you can but your bean classes
in every subfolder beneath Classes. Here for example we have the subfolders test
and beans:
You have to declare the package on top of your Bean Source Code:
package test.beans;
In your JSP you don't need the import code of Xiang. You only have to refer the
path of your bean class:
<jsp:useBean id="testBean" scope="session" class="test.beans.TestBean" />
There are some other AppServers that only can deploy Java Beans in packages. So
if you use packages you are always on the right side.

Problems with report builder 3.0 in SCCM 2012 R2 CU2

I have problems with editing (Using Report builder) existing reports or creating new ones in SCCM 2012 R2 CU2
We version of SQL we use is SQL 2008 R2 SP2
I already asked this question in the SCCM 2012 forum but the problem is not related to SCCM but has something to do with application report builder
I changed the registry key and edited the Microsoft.ConfigurationManagement.exe.config.xml as described in the following link

Afterwards I try to edit an report I see report builder is being downloaded and after it generates the following error “Application did not succeed. Unable to continue”

1. I went through the SQL steps in the link you posted
2. I updated the Reg Key and Microsoft.ConfigurationManagement.exe.config file with 3.0 on both the
server and the console machine.
3. I copied the .DLL file from your OneDrive and replaced the existing one on the server.
4. I uninstalled and re-installed the reporting role on the server and received the 1015 in the log.
5. I restarted the server and the client machine
I do get a slightly different error now after using the new DLL

Problem with the NodeManager in Weblogic 10.0 MP1
Hi,
I have a problem starting the Nodemanager successfully. I have currently installed BEA Weblogic 10.0 MP1. The admin server is getting started successfully. When, I start the Nodemanager with the command:
startnodemanager -machine <hostname>, it neither gives the success message nor the error message. It comes to a stand still. Please see the below text, which appears on the Command prompt, when I run the nodemanager command.

After this, when I check the nodemanager status in Console, then the status appears as REACHABLE. Assuming, this to be the successfully message, I try to start the managed servers associated with the Machine/Server. But, it fails and there appears a message on the console with the status as 'Force Shutting Down' for this server.
When I check the logs, there seems to be some problem with the Nulll exception. Please see the below logs as it appears, its only a part of the logs

Remote JDBC Problem with Oracle BPM Studio
Hi all, i am facing the Remote JDBC Problem with Oracle BPM Studio.
When i configure a Remote JDBC Connection for SQL in BPM Studio, it prompt me an error.
The SQL Connection is configured as following :

So, i added weblogic.jar (Weblogic 10.3) and wlclient.jar (Weblogic 10.3)
It is working in my simple java code. But, still not working in BPM Studio.

The serialization issue is a trivial one at the moment. However the threat of a version change is imminent considering the next release of JDK 6 "Mustang" may have considerable improvements especially on the Swing side. Therefore, I strongly encourage you to write your own code to persist the tree data into a file. Such a logic is much preferable as it will over-come the issues with serialization.
The main problem with a version change is that every serializable class uses a special random number stored in a private static field called serialVersionUID. So when the serializable class is serialized, this number is also persisted to the serialized form.
When the object is de-serialized, the number is also deserialized. Java checks the de-serialized number against the serialVersionUID field of the class and verifies if the two match. If they do, it means that the deserialized data is in the right format of the class. If they differ, a InvalidClassException is thrown. Every new version of the class changes this unique number. Hence an object serialized with an older version of the class will not be allowed to be de-serialized by a new version of that class and vice-versa.
This mechanism allows developers to version their new releases and ensures that serialization and deserialization operations remain consistent across multiple-versions and prevent invalid state of the object.The serialization issue is a trivial one at the moment. Do you know that Sun's JDK release policies prevent them from doing that in the middle of a release? and that they haven't done such a thing in 13 years? I would strongly encourage developers not to use Serialization on Swing objects at all, which curiously enough is what the Javadoc has been saying for ten years. You should use java.beans.XMLEncoder for this. That's what it is for.
