Problem with Serializable JDO objects containing Hashtables

Hi,
I have a simple JDO object which contains a Hashtable and I would like to
declare as Serializable. It seems though, that whenever I serialize this
object, I get a NullPointerException. I've written a bare-bones test case
and reproduced the exception, so I suspect this may be an enhancement issue.

Make sure your using rite version of jdeveloper..
Make sure your using apps schema and check whether your able perform DML operations in the schema vis sql developer.

Facing lot of problems with the DATA object -- Urgent

Hi,
I am facing lot of problems with the data object in VC.
1. I created the RFC initially and then imported the data object in to VC. Later i did some modifications to RFC Function module,and when i reload the data object, I am not able to see the new changes done to RFC in VC.
2. Even if i delete the function module, after redeploying the IVIew, results are getting displayed.
3. How stable is the VC?
I restarted the sql server and portal connection to R3 is also made afresh.... still i am viewing such surprise results..
please let me know what might be the problem.

The problem is with COPYING The Business Object. Because , generally we extend BOR ,not copy. But i did copy.

The problem may not be in method. because simply we copied the BO:SELFITEM into ZSELF . And i want to test this for a mail at first , whether copied BOR is working or not.The mail is not triggering . it is saying that it is Error.

I'm having problems with FlashPlayerPlugin and plugin-container. They keep starting up and bogging down the system. This has been a recent occurrance. I've made sure that I have the latest version. I notice the problem when I am opening some applicatio, and it freezes. If I go to Task Manager, I can see the two Adobe apps sucking up CPU cycles. If I end the processes, then the other apps continue. Today, I uninstalled FlashPlayerPluginqand plugin-container. All day since I have had no freezing of an app. What should I do to correct the problem?

It means either you have a faulty/out of date plugin, or your firewall/antivirus is causing problems with Firefox.

ABAP Objects: Problems with controls in splitter container

Hi community,
I have problems with the second control in a splitter container.
In the left container I build up a list tree.
On double click on a node a column tree in the right container is created.
This is working fine.
But if I double click on another node in the left container the right tree remains unchanged.
What do I have to do to update/refresh the tree in the right splitter container.

I now destroy the right container and the right tree control if it exists after the event 'double_click' on a node in the left tree.
The result is now that the container is created (I can see it on screen) but no tree is shown.
If I just destroy the tree control but not the container the tree from the first double click on the left tree is shown.
In the debugger I see that the list tree instance is linked to the caontainer (after first and second creation of tree control)
Maybe you can see in the coding below what's wrong or missing.

Problem with Serialization from Threads

I'm quite new to java threads, and i'm doing a simple server.
It opens a thread for every socket connection that is opened, so the Socket is extern to the Thread.
When I try to serialize on the socket a Vector (that contains Vectors, etc..) that is extern to the Thread, the first time everything goes ok, but when the thread modifies some variables in some objects contained in a vector(that, i repeat is extern to the thread), the serialized object doesn't seem to change, and the client continues receiving the same variables, without change.
In a first time i thought that maybe creating a thread, the second one took a copy of the space of addresses of the main one(and so when i modify a variable from a thread the variable in the main thread didn't change), but i read that java uses the same space of addresses for every thread, so i don't really know what it could be.
Maybe i've not been clear so i make an example:
MyType is a class containing some fields, let's put x and y
In the class MainClass i have an istance of this class, and also a socket and from here i open a thread of class MyThread
MyThread modifies x and y in a object of MyType contained in the "3D array" that is in MainClass
Then from that thread i serialized on the socket (which was been passed by MainClass).
Well, doing this way the vector that the client receives has always the x and y fields unchanged.
Please help me, cause i've been thinking all day of what it could be and found nothing on the web.
Also sorry for my poor english.

The client still receives the vector with objects
unchanged.
I think the problem is that the thread can only access
to a copy of the class that contains the vector, and
so when i send the real one, it isn't changed.not likely. one of the things about threads is that they share everything but local (read: non-Object) data. All objects are accessible to any thread of your application, as long as that thread has a reference to it.

Problem with u0093Check org Object" in Transaction EC05

Everything works fine (at least for now), but when a I try to use the Check org Object (still in transaction EC05) on the newly created channel it gives the following error Errors in foreign key dependencies, with an error log containing the following entries:

if you have creates the new channel in copy with another (EC05).
verifie if you have the same divisions in both distribution channel.
otherwise. you have to eliminate superfluous divisions.
Then try to use the Check org Object in EC05 .
that will solve the problem .

Problem with 2 View Objects based on One Entity -Probably a Bug in ADF BC

I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3(SU5) and adf faces and ADF BC and to explain my problem I use HR schema.
First, I created 2 view objects based on countries table named as TestView1 and TestView2. I set TestView1 query where clause to region_id=1 and TestView2 query where clause to region_id!=1 in the view object editor and then I created 2 separated form on these 2 view objects by dragging and dropping from data control palette.
Now when I insert a record in the form based on TestView1 with region_id set to 1 and commit the record and go to the next form I can see the record in the second form which is completely wrong since it is against the where clause statement of the second form.
I am really confused and the situation is very wired and it seems to me something like bug in adf bc.Am I right.Is there any work around or solution for solving this problem.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Reading your helpful comments now I have some questions:
1- I have commited the record in the database so shouldn't the query of view objects be re-queried?
2- We try to use ClearVOCaches (entity_name,false) in afterCommit of the base entity object but unfortunately it does not work correctly. after that,We got root app module and used findViewObject method to find all the view of that entity (we have found them by using name not automaticlly) and called executeQuery of all views. From my point of view it has 2 big disadvantages. First suppose that this entity is an important entity and 4 or 5 viow objects are based on it. Now, For inserting one record we should re-execute 4 or 5 view which I think makes some performance issues. Besides, If during the development one programmer add a new view object based on this entity and don't add the executeQuery in the afterCommit for this view, again we have the same problem. Isn't there at least a way that automatically refresh all related view objects however the performance issue still exists.
3- You mentioned that this issue is handled in the developer guide. Could you kindly give me a refrence which developer guide you mean and which section I should read to overcome this problem.(I have ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL Developer's Guide , however I search for clearVOCaches and surprisingly nothing was found!!!)
4- Could you please give me some hints that from your point of view what is the best method to solve this problem with minimum performance effect.
Any comment would be of some great help.

The problem is that, if I use only the Load for open the file,it works great and find the first User, instead if in the Salva I run try{ loader.Caricalista(Lista);

it always goes in Error and print "Errore in Salva.java" like if it can not open the file.
How Can I Resolve?
The base idea is the:
from the mainvia I pass the ListKey Lista to save, then i load all the object from the file to the Lista, then i add to the List the new Object then i write all the object in the List to the file.

Problem with slash character in CONTAINS queries

i've got a problem with a CONTAINS query using Oracle Text.
The following query works fine:
select col1 from my_table_text where contains(text,'%02%')>0;
When i'm trying the query
select col1 from my_table_text where contains(text,'%02/%')>0;
the following error occurs:
ORA-29902: error in executing ODCIIndexStart() routine
ORA-20000: Oracle Text error:
DRG-50937: query too complex
I didn't find anywhere that the slash has a special meaning (escape character or something else). This occurs only when the slash character is positioned immediately after or before the % operator. The search string '%0/2%' works.
Oracle version: 9.2.0.1.0
OS: Solaris 8 SPARC
Maybe someone can help me.

I think you want to search for all words having '02/'.
Am I right? In that case try using '02//'
Yes. '/' means escape character. So when it finds '/%' it tries to escape '%'.

Problem with activating ODS object.

Hi experts,
I've got a problem with the activation of an ODS object. I've transported this single object from T to A system. First I got an error because one InfoObject was not yet transported to A. After I succesfully transported this InfoObjec, I tried to transport the ODS object again. But now the ODS object is not activated. I cannot activate it by hand also.
The following messages appear when I try to transport/activate this ODS object:
"No active nametab exists for /BIC/AZODEFOP50>"
"Termination due to inconsistencies"
"BIC/ZODEFOP00 (statements could not be generated)"
"Tabel /BIC/AZODEFOP50 could not be activated"
Does anybody know what is wrong and how i can solve it? I've tried to transport this ODS object several times but always the same problem. Even if I try to create this ODS object in A system by hand under the same name: ZODEFOP, I get the same errors when I want to activate it.
Please help me!

Hi,
Make sure that the self system is in active form in RSA1->Source system tree.
And also make sure the RFC destination to self system is in active form.
Some times self sytem inactive or wrong path in destinations to self one creates the problem in the activation of ODS.Becuse it has to create a DS on ODS.

BC Archive - problem with opening view object based on entity from archive

We have encountered a weird problem with a reusable BC library on different PCs.
Library was imported into a project following steps in section 25.7 of the ADF guide.
A view object was created using some of the entities from the library.
Model tested successfully with view object (using AppModule tester).
Page developed with no problems.
Application copied to a different PC.
BC JAR files set up in lib folder and removed/readded to application model project. When attempting to open view object, get the error below.
However, the View object still tests successfully using the AppModule tester.
The page using the View object still runs successfully.
I believe the problem is that when the archive was originally imported, it was imported from a different location. The Containees tag in the project .jpx file references that path name. But even when I edited the path name, I still could not open the view object. Do we have to remove and redo the import of the library each time the application is copied to a different machine?

We have resolved this problem by making sure that all machines have identical paths for both the working and the lib directories. It would be nice not to have to do this though.

EA 2.1: Some problems with PL/SQL objects

Some features for PL/SQL objects (packages, functions, procedures) do not work in EA 2.1.
*1. User defined editor extensions*
My user defined extensions for PL/SQL objects are not loaded. These extensions are migrated from 1.5, where I added some tab pages to the editor.
*2. Go to <object name> does not work for PL/SQL objects*
From Reports the context menu shows the menu option "Go to ....".
This doesn't work for PL/SQL objects.
For example All Reports > Data Dictionary Reports > PLSQL > Progam Unit Arguments
*3. Open declaration for PL/SQL objects*
Selecting an objectname in the PL/SQL editor and select "Open declaration" from context menu opens the selected object. This works for tables, bu tnot for PL/SQL objects.

Will these be solved in the final version?
I was searching bug no. 8967961 in My Oracle Support, but was not able to find it. Where can I find this bug?

*2. Pop-up describe for a pl/sql object shows only the user defined tab pages*
Select the name of a PL/SQL object in the editor, right click and choose "Popup describe". The default tab pages are not shown, only the tab pages added by User Defined Extensions.
*3. "Go to ...." option does not go to specific line number*
Use Report Data Dictionary Reports > PLSQL > Search Source Code. In the results, right click on an object and choose the "Go to .... " option. The editor doesn't go to the correct line. The pseudo column sdev_link_line has no effect.
