Problems with src.zip

Hi, I can't seem to find a similar problem anywhere so, here we go:
I have just re-installed my WinXP Prof. on my workstation and installed j2sdk1.4.2 and thought that it was going to work, as it did before the re-install, but it doesn't.
The problem is that I get 100 errors and 207 Warnings when compiling a small and simple file.
It says that some of the source files in src.zip uses a deprecated api and that c:\j2sdk1.4.2\src.zip(java/nio/ByteBufferAsIntBufferB.java):34: warning: as of release 1.4, assert is a keyword, and may not be used as an identifier
(source unavailable)and
c:\j2sdk1.4.2\src.zip(java/lang/IllegalArgumentException.java):20: class Illegal ArgumentException is public, should be declared in a file named IllegalArgumentException.java
(source unavailable)this is just a small portion of the errors that is diplayed.
I don't get it and neither does any of my colleges.
Can anyone help me make sense of this.

There is no reason for your JDK installation to look in the src.zip though your installation may be pointing to an older Java setup on your Win XP. Make sure that the CLASSPATH variable doesn't point to any other Java version other then the one you have. The source files, as far as I know, are provided for reference to the programmer only. They should not be included in any compilation.
Check your "Internet Properties" as well. There should be an option to indicate whether you are using the built in version of Java that may come with Win XP or one from SUN.
Also try moving the src.zip to another directory.
You should also be able to specify in your "Java Plug-In" in Start -> Settings -> Control Panel. Make sure that it is pointing too and using your new Java installation (1.4.2).

whis code is a part of the servlet code that has to send the zipped file to the applet. What's happening is i am able to zip the files. but when i try to open the zip file it gives me a an error window saying " cannot open file: it does not appear to be valid archive."
ofcourse the file is zipped on a linux machine and i am trying to open it in windows...it think this shouldn't be a problem though!!
please somebody throw some light on this. i have searched the archives but not helpful sofar.

not only the zip file even the other text file is not downloaded properly....(i.e) it shows some junk characters instead of the actual file context. so maybe there is mistake in the way that i am reading the files...but what i am doing at applet's end is just a mirror reflection of what i am doing at the servlet's end. you got me!! hope i am not confusing!

Problem with attached zip file

I received an email with a zip file attached, but whenever I try to open it I get the message "Unable to unarchive "filename.zip: into "Desktop." (Error 1 - Operation not permitted)"

Download problems with 9011NTSrv_Disk2.zip

I've been trying to download 9011NTSrv_Disk2.zip for two days. It keeps disappearing without finishing, but I finally got an error with it. It was a simple one: "Internet Explorer cannot download 9011NTSrv_Disk2.zip from download-west.oracle.com". That says it all for what's wrong.
I tried on 4/16 in the afternoon (PST) and 4/17. It is now 4/17, 4:52pm. I'm using MS Explorer version 5.50.4522.1800 on Windows 2000 Professional, version 5.0 (build 2195, service pack 1).
I was successful in downloading disks 1 and 3, however.
Could you tell me why it's failing? I'm at work and need to try staging something before my IT group tries to put it into production. This is probably the only time I'll ever use the Oracle database on my laptop...

Problems with HTMLResources.zip for a PDF on Android

I have added an HTMLResources.zip to my folio, in a configured button i choose go to url and HTLMResources/"myPDF".pdf. I get this Error Error, and i only see a white background in the Legacy Android App, please help.

Linking to PDF files in HTMLResources is currently supported only in iOS apps.

Problems with EAR deployment

When creating an ear-file (using ant 1.6.3) I get an EAR file that I can perfectly examin with the jar tool, I can even unzip it. All jars within can be unzipped as well. The ear file does contain an META-INF/application.xml file as well as a META-INF/sun-application.xml file but whenever I try to deploy, I get an error indicating that there are problems with the zip file.

After downloading zip file, could not extract files on windows XP by using any tool or built-in extractor i.e. compressed(zipped)folders (error: compressed folder invalid or corrupted).
But this works on win2k or win98
How can i work with it or can anyone tell me a solution to handle such a problem.

This could be a problem with the built-in ZIP program in Win XP - it's possible that the ZIP you are downloading (uploading?) is simply incompatible with the XP program. In Win 98 & 2000, you would have to use your own ZIP program, e.g. Winzip, and that can handle more formats that the XP program.
Try installing the same ZIP program that you have on w98/2k on your XP machine, and see if you can open the uploaded file using it.

Problem with Java and Zip Files

Hello there everyone. I have a problem with trying to zip up directories with empty folders in them. They zip fine with my code, but according to winzip, the number of files in the archive is incorrect. It's supposed to have a total of 288 files in it, but when it's zipped up, it only says 284. I mention specifically the "empty directories" note because the zipping works fine without empty folders.

The files look like they're there, but I need the system to be able to determine the number correctly.
Here's the interesting thing: It zips the files, and then when I use the size() method for zip files in java, it says 284 files. But when I unzip, it says 288 again. It's like there's files missing when compressed, but when decompressed, they return. Note that the files are actually there. If I open the archive in a third party app such as Winzip AND Winrar AND IZarc, they all show 288 files. Any idea what would make the number of files appear incorrectly in a zip file when zipped by java with the code above? Thanks in advance.

I figured out the problem. When zipping files in windows using winzip, it doesn't explicitly count folders as a "file/folder" as a file in itself. It will create the folders for files to go in, but the folder itself will not be 'counted' when you query the info of the file itself. You have more control of the zip file in java, and can count the folder as a file or not.

Problems with CRC in some windows app's whit zip files generated with Java

That is very strange but, we have an app for compressing a folder into a zip. For making, we use the Java.Util.Zip API. Our zip file looks fine, we can unzip the files into another folder without problems, even we can open the file with Winzip or Winrar.
But, we had encountered problems with anothers win apps like "Recovery ToolBox", or another win app built with the "Dynazip.dll" library. This apps give us the next error.
"Bad Crc".
But if we unzip this "corrupt" file and we zip the content again, all work without errors.

Certain zip files can't be handled by bsdtar; it is explained in more detail in some of the technical writeups of libarchive which processes all files as streams rather than random-access as the 'unzip' program does.
For zip files that are made in a slightly unorthodox fashion, one can do the following:
1. Add the zip file to the noextract=() PKGBUILD array
2. Add 'unzip' as a makedepend
3. Add as the first lines of your build function:
cd $srcdir
unzip <sourcefile>.zip
4. Continue as normal.

What are you seeing happen when you do that?
Select a .zip file in the Finder and Get Info (cmd-i). What is set for it to Open With. It should be Archive Utility.

Problem with the Camera Raw 7.1 zip file

I downloaded the Camera Raw 7.1 from the Adobe website and I cannot unpack the .zip file,there is always some CRC error, so I cannot install either. I tried through the Application Manager but the same problem happened with that one as well. I need the 7.1 for the Nikon D800. Can u help me somehow?

You need to download the file again. Your download took an error. It happens.
If it continues to happen, you may need to take it up with your internet provider; file downloads are not supposed to be corrupted by link errors, and it may be that they have some problems with their equipment.

After the update to IOS 7.1 an mail from Exchange 2003 mail server with a zip file.
the zip file cannot unzipped by any app.

There's a patch available for this problem.

The latest version of Firefox has a compatability problem with the Reget download manger which means I can only download zipped files rather than large MOV or MKV files as could previously be done. Is there a solution to this issue?

As per above the Reget add on is now not compatible with Firefox's latest version. Is this something which Firefox is looking into? Is there a work around or is this up to Reget to remedy?

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

Problem with tutorial; "Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using "

I've got a rather new installation of Vista Business x64 on my developer rig, and last week I installed the new JDeveloper 11g version. The installation was all-inclusive, no customization on my end.
In addition I've got a test installation of an Oracle DB 11gR1 on an available server here.
To familiarize myself with the new JDeveloper I decided to spend some time with the JDeveloper 11g tutorials found here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/11/index.html.
I've started twice on the second tutorial, "Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using EJB, JPA, and JavaServer Faces", and find myself repeatedly stuck at step 19 in section "Creating the Data Model and Testing it".
It seems impossible to deploy the application to the default application server. The server starts fine on its own, I can access it via the admin console on port 7001 and it looks good. However, when I try to run the HRFacadeBean funny things are happening, symptomized by the following error messages seen in the IDE log-area:

I'm not that familiar with these things but it seems to me that there is an issue with port numbers here. The application seems to expect a app.server service at port 7101, but does'nt find one.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be appreciated?

It fails in a similar way.
What I did was; create a simle 'Hello World' html file, saving it with the jsp extension. In Jdev11g i made a new application and an emtpy project, then loaded the jsp file and made it the default run-target. This compiles nicely.
When running the project it first attempts to start the WebLogicServer (WLS). After a few minutes it is started as seen in the "Running: DefaultServer" pane:

The WLS is still running though as I can still access its adm console.
To me it seems that it is attempting to start a separate instance of the WLS for each run attempt, but then I could be wrong.....:(
Later I'll try to change the default WLS port from 7001 to 7101 as suggested in another port here.
I must admit that I'm a bit surprised that the JDev11g doesn't work fine at this very simple level when performing a default install.
