Problems with WVC80N and remote access (TZO issue?)

I apologize for this "duplicate entry".  I'm a newbie and I think I posted the below in a "Reply" to another Post.  I'm learning.
I have a vacation home in the Sierras.  I wanted a way to remotely check on the snow in the driveway.  I have a Linsys WRT610N router that has been working for a year now.  I recently purchased a WCV80N camera and installed it two weeks ago.  I have SBC(ATT?)DSL service.  PC runs Windows XP.  I also subcribed to a plan with TZO for the remote monitoring.
While I was at the location of the camera, everything worked fine.  When I left and tried to access the camera, most of the time I got the error message about the connection failing because it had "timed out".  I could access the camera at odd hours, late night, weekend, etc.
I called TZO several times to describe the problem and each time they said: "are you at the location of the camera"!!  Duh!!  The rote answer was that it must be my problem.  I'm back at the Sierra home and I've asked a friend to log in remotely.  He has the same problem nearly all the time.  While I am here at the camera location  I can access the camera from the internal IP 192.xxx address.  Access via the TZO MyLinksyscam.com log in is sporadic.
I checked the System log and there are multiple entries for: "UPnP: Internal Gateway UPnP discovery failure.  Then the following:  DDNS: No need to update IP address.  And this goes on every 15 minutes, then the UPnP failure message.
Bottom line:  Does this sound like "my problem" or TZO's???

Sounds like you have the same problems that I had, but the problem is definitely not with TZO, it's your Router. Your Ports might be different than mine but this is what they told me to do:
think you need to open the ports for the cameras.
Follow these steps.
1) open the setup page of the camera IP 192.168.1.99. Click on 'Options' in the side panel. You will find ' Alternate Web Access Port '. If it is disabled then enable it enter the ' Port Number ' - 1024. Save the settings.
2) Open the setup page of the Camera IP 192.168.1.89. Click on 'Options' in the side panel. You will find ' Alternate Web Access Port '. If it is disabled then enable it enter the ' Port Number ' - 1025. Save the settings.
3) Now open the setup page of the router. Go to Applications and gaming. Click on Single port forwarding. If you have any applications there then delete all the applications or uncheck ' Enable'.
Now Go to Port Range triggering sub tab. If you have any application there then delete all the applications or uncheck 'Enable'. Go to DMZ sub tab and if it is enabled then Disable it.
4) Click on Port range Forwarding sub tab. In the application name type ' camera1' . In start and end port type 1024, protocol - both and enter the IP address 192.168.1.99.  Check the box enable.
In second application type the name ' camera2'. In the start and end port enter 1025, Protocol - both and enter the IP address 192.168.1.89. Check the box enable. Save the settings.
See if that works.

  • Would you tell me If window server installed with "routing and remote access" can output firewall logs.

I install "routing and remote access" into Window Server and make it work as a firewall.
When connections are accepted or denied at firewall, would you tell me if the firewall can output the logs ?
If that function can, would you tell me how to configure ?
    Thanks.

    Hi Kohenro31,
I'm a little confused about configuring RRAS to work as firewall, cause we usually deploy RRAS as VPN connection, router etc, would you please post more information in detail?

  • Can Exchange work correctly with routing and remote access?

    tx in advance

    Tx  for answer !
Yes.  I have suppose that if remote and routing access and Exchange are built-in win sbs11 mean that work together, did i'm wrong?
my only problem is i can't figure how to let exchange send email correctly, all other thing work well.
I seen that when exchange send email, multiple source port are in use, like ftp does.  Is there a way to change that?
    tx again

  • Problem with Collaboration and Portal accessed via multiple URLs

Here is the scenario. We have the portal installed that can be accessed from an external domain: portal.company.com. We recently upgraded to WCI 10gR3 and in the process we added an internal server that uses an OAM webgate which handles Integrated Windows Authentication. The URL for out internal access is portal.company.int. The problem comes when we try to access collaboration folders. From our internal URL when we click on a folder in Collab Documents the loading... text come sup and that's it. No other activity in the browser or in PTSpy. If we use the external URL there is no issue.
Anyone have any ideas on how we can get around this or what the cause could be?

try to play with the collaboration server url (for the Collaboration Remote Server )
    http://yourserver.com:11930/collab/
Enter the external url here, or better the name of the machine, something like
    http://<machinename><yourdomain>:11930/collab/
    See if works.
    Hope that helps!

  • Problem with traffic over Remote Access VPN (Cisco ASA5505)

    Hi
I've changed the VPN IP pool on a previously functioning VPN setup on a Cisco ASA5505, I've updated IP addresses everywhere it seemed appropriate, but now the VPN is no longer working. I am testing with a Cisco IPSec client, but the same happens with the AnyConnect client. Clients connect, but cannot access resources on the LAN. Split tunneling also doesn't work, internet is not accessible once VPN is connected.
I found a NAT exempt rule to not be correctly specified, but after fixing this, the problem still persists.

    Hi
The bulk of the devices are not even routing through the ASA, internal devices such as IP phones, printers, etc. There is also large wastage of IP addresses which needs to be sorted out at some stage.
Outside IP address is 196.215.40.160. The DSL modem is configured as an LLC bridge.
Here are the debug logs when connecting if this helps at all. Nothing is logged when a connection is attempted though.
    Regards

Okay, I have done quite a bit of research and I still cannot resolve my problem because of this, I am turning to this user community.
Here is what I know as of right now:
I am running Windows OS X 10.4.4 with AirPort Update 2005-001. My Access Point is a 3COM 8250.
The AP is setup not to broadcast its SSID, to use WPA-TKIP (or in Apple terminology, WPA Personal) and the password is set to use alphanumeric.
When I try to connect my PowerBook with the SSID name, WPA Personal and the correct password, I get the following error:
The password you entered is not correct for the Airport network *******.
To troubleshoot here are the test I have run and their outcomes:
    Test
    - Result
Set the AP to completely open
    - Connected
Set the AP to open, didn't broadcast the SSID
    - Connected
Set the AP to WEP, broadcast the SSID
    - Connected
Set the AP to WEP, didn't broadcast the SSID
    - Connected
Set the AP to WPA & WEP, broadcast the SSID
    - WEP : Connected
    - WPA : Not Connected
Set the AP to WPA & WEP, didn't broadcast SSID
    - WEP:Connected
    - WPA:Not Connected
Set the AP to WPA only
    - Not Connected.
Now, I should mention that when I was running 10.3.3 I could not connect either. The AP is running the newest firmware and I have three Windows XP SP2 laptops / workstations that can connect with no problems.
I have tried to find a compatibility matrix on both 3COM's and Apple's websites to see if it might be a compatibility issue but I have not been able to find one on either site.
Any help that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciate.
    Thanks in advance.
    17" PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

Hello MisssAsh. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
It's always a good idea to do a complete power recycle when changing network configurations.
Try the following, in order, checking for Internet access after each step, until resolved:
    1. If the modem has a reset switch, use it to reset the modem. Wait at least 5-10 minutes for the modem to initialize.
    2. Remove power from the modem. If it has a backup battery, remove this as well. Wait 5-10 minutes. Replace the battery, and add power back to the modem.
    3. Perform a complete power recycle of your network components as follows:
    Modem/Router Power Recycling - Quick
o Power-off the modem, AirPort Express Base Station (AX), & computer(s); Wait at least 5 minutes.
o Power-on the modem; Wait at least 5 minutes.
o Power-on the AX; Wait at least 5 minutes.
    o Power-on the computer(s)
If this fails to get the modem to "recognize" the Internet router, then try the "Full" version.
    Modem/Router Power ReCycling - Full
o Power-off the modem, AX, & computer(s). (Wait at least 30 minutes. If possible, leave the modem off overnight.)
o Power-on the modem; Wait at least 15 minutes.
o Power-on the AX; Wait at least 5 minutes.
    o Power-on the computer(s)
    4. Contact your ISP to have them perform a "modem reset."

  • Problems with video and disk access

I had previously posted my problems to this site. However, after some more investigation, I can better describe what is happening. First, I have checked most of the startup items and I have emptied the cache using Maverick Cache Cleaner.  The situation is improving except for the following. After about an hour worth's of work, I find that when I open an application that either accesses the hard disk or video or printers, the application typically hangs up.  Using the Force Quit Application tool, I can see that the affected application is flagged as not responding.  I can also not close down normally (even though the system informs that it is in the process of shutting down).  I am stumped. I have contacted Apple Support and they have recommended that I take my computer in because it appears to be a hardware problem.  Before I do so, I am interested in determining what if any software-related problems could be causing this issue. Any recommendations as to what to to to collect more appropriate data? TIA.

An update - I seem to have found the answer.  In reviewing discussions for other similar issues involving Maverick, it struck me that the problem seemed to focus on the sleep/awake issue. Specifically, I have a lot of external harddisks that were being adversely affected by the awake. What I tried was to do the following:
Go to System preference and energy savings
Turn off "put harddisks to sleep whenever possible."
Ensure that the computer never sleeps (the display can).
With these changes, the system seems to be stable and it works without crashing.  No more non-responding applications.

    problem:
(we have 2 panels) of vertical
when i run this application it is working fine. But when we minimise the browser(half size) or if we add more no of toolbars in browser (important) obviously browser size will decrease,
that time 1 panel getting decreased second panel is maintaing fixed size, not resizing.
I tried to give fixed size (percentage) for both panels wt ever the operation does.
    and 2nd issue

problem: that time im getting by default horizontal and vertical scrollbar, but if user add toolbars in browser (view->customize)add toolbar no of say 10-15 that time window size decreasing
so, table size is crossing panelbox size, and bottom scrollbar is not visible (hiding under site bottom layout say site is divided into 4 parts (leftmenu, body(2 panels), right, bottom) (im not using any right layout)

  • Server 2003 routing and remote access not passing VPN traffic

I've inherited a network that has two IP scopes that are routed through a Windows 2003 server with Routing and Remote Access.  I can ping both sides (we'll call them HQ and Plant) internally.  My firewall has an IP from the HQ IP scope and when
I connect via VPN, I can see all the devices on the HQ network including the network card that is in the routing server for that "side".  However, if I'm connected via VPN, I cannot get to any of the IPs on the Plant side, not even the card
in the routing server.  The buck stops on the server.
I should mention, that the firewall assigns IP addresses that are on the HQ scope, so all VPN connections will have an address from that side.
I'm lost on how to get this set up so my VPN traffic coming in from the HQ side can be routed to the Plant devices.

    Hi,
To be honest, your statement confused me a bit.
VPN is used for external client get access to internal resource. When we setup VPN server, we usually have two NICs. We need choose a NIC that will be used when client initiate
a connection request. I prefer to call it external NIC card. The internal one will work as DHCP relay agent. So this is a single way connection. You cannot dial from internal to external.
If I misunderstood you, please elaborate what you are trying to do.
    Hope this helps.

  • Routing and Remote access can cause cluster network issues?

After enabling routing and remote access on the servers, we found lots of cluster issues on our server like<o:p></o:p>
    Cluster Service stopped
Communication was lost and reestablished between cluster nodes
    Unable to access witness resource
    Cluster resource failed
can RRAS enabling causes cluster network issues?

    Hi TwoR,
Please offer more information about your current cluster and RRAS configuration, such as are you installed the RRAS role on any cluster node? Are your cluster in Hyper-V environment?
Or if you want to create the RRAS cluster you can refer the following KB:

  • Windows 2012 routing and remote access service with same subnet

I have internal server IP range -192.168.1.0/24
Windows routing and remote access service  with vpn client IP -192.168.11../22
client side IP subnet is -192.168.1.0/24
So we wan routing \ NATING between  192.168.1.0/24 to 192.168.11.0/22 so if vpn user try to ping 192.168.11.5 it should internally forward all request to 192.168.1.5

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that VPN client and internal network has the same IP range -192.168.1.0/24. And you want to transfer internal network from IP address 192.168.1.0/24 to 192.168.11.0/22.
Agree with Charles David’s point of view. The easiest way to fix routing confusion would be to either change the VPN subnet or the VPN client subnet.
Or, if you configure Windows Server(RRAS) as VPN server, you may enable NAT to transfer internal IP address:
    1. Open RRAS, add NAT.
    2. New interface to NAT and configure it as public interface.
    3. Open Address Pool tab, add IP address range 192.168.11.0/22.
    4. Click Reservations, add reserved IP(192.168.11.0/22) and corresponding internal IP(192.168.1.0/24) one by one.
This would be a lot of workload. Besides, you may use 3rd party devices to transfer subnet IP addresses.

    Eve Wang

  • Problem with provisioning and external SQL server connection

I am configuring IPAM 2012 R2 on a our management server.  Completed the first step by enabling the feature.  No issues.
Now I am on the Provisioning IPAM step.  I get to the Configure Database step...
    I choose Microsoft SQL server,
What should those values be in the Server name and Database name fields.  Instructions show fqdn or ip address but that doesnt seem to be working for me.
I get the following error at the end of the Provisioning IPAM wizard,
IPAM Deployment failed with the following error.
Failed to connect to database server. Check the database name, connectivity and remote access.
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections.
(provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.)
You can restart this provisioning wizard from the IPAM overview page.
From the management server I have tested the SQL Connection with a udl file.  I used myServer\myInstance and it works.  It reports that I have made the Connection to the server and database with the sql credentials i have provided.
    Thanks

    Ran
into a problem with connecting to the DB on the SQL server from the IPAM server.  The Dba and I checked the target SQL instance was enabled TCP and listening on a valid TCP port.  SQL server was set to use port 1443 for incoming connections.
IPAM was set by default to use 1433.
    Also used
netstat-n to identify issue and verified 1443 on SQL server was
being used.  Made the correction under the IPAM provisioning wizard and connected to the database.  Fixed.
Important note I was able to connect to the database with a .udlfile
    without any issues
Also note that 2012 R2 IPAM only supports 2012 SQL Enterprise.  Why?
