Problems with xmlbeans in workshop 7.0

Hi,
I have been trying to use the purchase order example for XMLBeans (http://workshop.bea.com/xmlbeans/docindex.html)
in Workshop 7.0.
I have the jar file for the schema and added it in the WEB-INF/lib of my Workshop
7.0 project. When i try to use it in the Java class, it is not able to find the
classes. The wierd part is when i add the package info leading to my class in
my import statement one-by-one, it shows me the packages in the workshop but once
the statement is completed it says "the class not found in import".
The same jar is working in Workshop Beta 8.1.
Does anybody know what is wrong in 7.0?
Raghu

Raghu,
The files that you add to the IDE classpath would not affect what the
project's classpath. For the project to be able to load the classes, they
must be present within the project or must be added to the WebLogic server's
classpath.
In 7.0, the server is not certified on JDK 1.4.1.
Hope this helps.
Thanks

Raj,
But why is Workshop not able to locate the classes in Design View? Ithought workshop
uses jdk1.4 as per the winLaunch.cfg file.
Am i missing something?
I do realize that i will not be able to run my web service using thexmlbeans
in 7.0 with jdk1.3.
Thanks
Raghu

Raghu,
xmlbeans requires JDK 1.4.1, but the 7.0 server runs on JDK 1.3.1, and

not supported on JDK 1.4.1
from http://workshop.bea.com/xmlbeans/docindex.html
Note: The Java examples in this documentation require JDK 1.4 or later.
You
can download the JDK at http://java.sun.com/j2se/downloads.html.
Can you try with Workshop 8.1 beta ?

Hi,
I added the xmlbeans classes in the winLaunch.cfg and theWorkshop.properties
to set the classpath. But still the workshop editor shows "class notfound". It
is not able to find the classes from the xmlbeans.jar
The jws file does get compiled and can be run successfully too.
The JARs are kept in the WEB-INF/lib of the project. I tried with
another
another
jar, and workshop is able to find it. The problem seems to be onlyhappening with
XMLBeans jar.
My workshop build version is 7.0.2.0.0127.0.
Is this a known bug? Any solutions, please!

  • Problems with samples in Workshop 8.1.3

    I am Weblogic newbie.
    When I used Weblogic Workshop 8.1.3, I found I can not build many ejb projects smoothly, even for some samples in workshop.
    I guess the underlying reason is from the version I am using, workshop 8.1.3. Then I use Workshop 8.1.2 to build, it works.
    Is there anyone who knew about this problem?
    I am using Windows XP chinese version.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Did you have a look in the temp build dir to see if there's really something wrong with the generated code (may be ejbc gets fooled by some character in a string literal or comment)? However you must have two separate installations for wls 8.1.2 and 8.1.3 so it's possible that classpath settings differ for the two.

  • Problem with WorkShop 3.2 when lanching tomcat

    hi!I met a problem with debugging projects in WorkShop.
    I'm using tomcat 5.5.17 in WorkShop studio 3.2.All my server configurations are default!When debugging,I just right clicked on the project and chose "debug on server",then tomcat lanched.During that time,something weird happened.I found my project was deployed twice,and I also found that one was deployed as context "dms"(project's directory name),another as context "web"(project's real context).
    I tried all means to solve this problem.Finally I got one.I set two attributes of host tag to false from server.xml,deployOnStartup and autoDeploy.It works.But I don't think it is the best way.so my questions is: is this a workshop deploy bug?
    I guess it is.This is what I found from tomcat document.I think it may help us to slove this problem.
    "When using automatic deployment, the docBase defined by an XML Context file should be outside of the appBase directory. If this is not the case difficulties may be experienced deploying the web application or the application may be deployed twice.
    Finally, note that if you are defining contexts explicitly, you should probably turn off automatic application deployment. Otherwise, your context will be deployed twice each, and that may cause problems for your app. "
    Maybe workshop should use the web context name as project directory name when deploying and do not define the context explicitly in server.xml.

    hi, I just do the same thing as you do!The problem still exists!
    if you go to Tomcat Web Application Manager page and have a look at the applications you deployed. You will find your project is deployed twice with two different context(context root and project directory name as context root).
    note:if you don't have access to the manager page,you can try the following:
    -edit the settings for the server
    -find 'Run modules directly from the workspace(do not modify the Tomcat installation)' setting and uncheck the checkbox before it
    -then save your changes.
    Doing this you can deploy your project directly to the appbase of your tomcat server directory.Then you will have access to the manager page with the url "http://localhost:8080/manager/html".
    Also you may take a closer look at the output of your workshop console,you will find some output messages duplicated.
    This problem originally starts from workshop 3.1.There is no such issue before 3.0 and lower versions.
    Workshop studio was once an fatastic tool.But after integrated with WTP things have been changed.The biggest trouble is it costs too much memory.and some import features such as AJAX support,javascript debugger aren't available to us.I feel a little disappointed.:(
    Hope you guys will fix those defects.
    Regards!

  • Problem with axis2 and Tomcat

    Hello,
    I am having a strange problem with Tomcat and axis. I have a webservice that uses axis2 for wsdl2java class generation. When I compile my project in maven a Test is performed. During the test a glassfish server is established and the project is deployed -everything work great with the expected results. However when I try to deploy the webservice on tomcat it has some problems.
    At first I tried to call axis code in a POST method that takes a MultiPart message. The code is as below:
    *@Path("identifyWavestream")*
    *@POST*
    *@Consumes(MediaType.MULTIPART_FORM_DATA)*
    *@Produces(MediaType.APPLICATION_XML)*
    *public String multipartTest(com.sun.jersey.multipart.MultiPart multiPart) throws Exception {*
    *// get first body part (index 0)*
    *//tomcat shows that the first error is here (line 122 is the nest one with bodypart)*
    BodyPart bp = multiPart.getBodyParts().get(0);
    BodyPartEntity bodyPartEntity = (BodyPartEntity) bp.getEntity();
    InputStream stream = bodyPartEntity.getInputStream();
    *//the rest of the code either saves the incoming file or implements the wsdl2java axis interface - neither works.*
    And the tomcat error is:
    java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 0, Size: 0
    java.util.ArrayList.RangeCheck(Unknown Source)
    java.util.ArrayList.get(Unknown Source)

    It was strange to me since this simple approach of handling a Multipart method worked for me earlier. Then I decided skip the handling of multipart method and just call the axis code. But the results also caused an error. I then tried to call the axis code in a simple @GET method (to cross out any issues regarding the multipart) and the result where the same. Again everything works on the maven- glassfish test. In this case the tomcat error is the following:

  • Problem with dynamic LOV and function

    Hello all!
    I'm having a problem with a dynamic lov in APEX 3.0.1.00.08. Hope you can help me!
    I have Report and Form application. On the Form page i have a Page Item (Popup Key LOV (Displays description, returns key value)).
    When i submit the sql code in the 'List of vaules defention' box. I get the following message;
    1 error has occurred
    LOV query is invalid, a display and a return value are needed, the column names need to be different. If your query contains an in-line query, the first FROM clause in the SQL statement must not belong to the in-line query.
    When i excecute the code below in TOAD or in the SQL Workshop it returns the values i want to see. But somehow APEX doesn't like the sql....
    SELECT REC_OMSCHRIJVING d, REC_DNS_ID r FROM
    TABLE(CAST(return_dns_lov_fn(:P2_DNS_ID) AS dns_table_type)) order by 1
    returns_dns_lov_fn is a function, code is below;
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION DRSSYS.return_dns_lov_fn (p2_dns_id number)
    RETURN dns_table_type
    AS
    v_data dns_table_type := dns_table_type ();
    BEGIN
    IF p2_dns_id = 2
    THEN
    FOR c IN (SELECT dns_id dns, omschrijving oms
    FROM d_status dst
    WHERE dst.dns_id IN (8, 10))
    LOOP
    v_data.EXTEND;
    v_data (v_data.COUNT) := dns_rectype (c.dns, c.oms);
    END LOOP;
    RETURN v_data;
    END IF;
    END;
    and the types;
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE DRSSYS.dns_rectype AS OBJECT (rec_dns_id NUMBER, rec_omschrijving VARCHAR2(255));
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE DRSSYS.dns_table_type AS TABLE OF dns_rectype;
    I tried some things i found on this forum, but they didn't work as well;
    SELECT REC_OMSCHRIJVING display_value, REC_DNS_ID result_display FROM
    TABLE(CAST(return_dns_lov_fn(:P2_DNS_ID) AS dns_table_type)) order by 1
    SELECT REC_OMSCHRIJVING display_value d, REC_DNS_ID result_display r FROM
    TABLE(CAST(return_dns_lov_fn(:P2_DNS_ID) AS dns_table_type)) order by 1
    SELECT a.REC_OMSCHRIJVING display_value, a.REC_DNS_ID result_display FROM
    TABLE(CAST(return_dns_lov_fn(:P2_DNS_ID) AS dns_table_type)) a order by 1

    I just had the same problem when I used a function in a where clause.
    I have a function that checks if the current user has acces or not (returning varchar 'Y' or 'N').
    In where clause I have this:
    where myFunction(:user, somePK) = 'Y'
    It seems that when APEX checked if my query was valid, my function triggered and exception.
    As Varad pointed out, check for exception that could be triggered by a null 'p2_dns_id'
    Hope that helped you out.

  • Problem with the creation of the _pageflow folder in the portal project

    Hi,
    I have developed one portal project on the BEA Weblogic Portal server version 9.2. And I am having a quite a number of pageflow portlets in my application.I am facing a weird problem with the workshop(BEA Workshop for Weblogic Platform 9.2.1). It is not generating the folder _pageflow required for all the protlets when we build it.I tried cleaning and building it number of times but it is of no use.
    Is it a bug in the weblogic server version or do I really miss something in the workshop settings?
    Please help.
    Thanks & Regards
    Prakash.

    Hi Dmitry,
    What state are the tasks in?  Are they in Active, Running, or Completed?  There will only be output files if the tasks are in state running or completed.
    Additionally, what is the status of the pool which the tasks ran on?  If the pool VMs have been deallocated (or the pool itself has been deleted) then the task files will be lost.  This is because the files of the tasks reside on the VM which ran
    the task.
    Lastly, you can check the file retention time of the tasks in the BatchExplorer UI by selecting the task and looking in the "Task Details" tab for "TaskConstriants.RetentionTime" to see what that is set to - if the retention time has
    passed (i.e. retention time was 1h but the task was run 2h ago), then the files will be cleaned up.
    It sounds like you already are using BatchExplorer, but we recently published a blog post which has some specific instructions for using BatchExplorer to debug (how to RDP into a VM for example), which you can find
    here - it also has some code snippets for how BatchExplorer performs the operations that it does.
    Let us know what you find from your investigation and we can help you figure out why your tasks don't have output files.

  • A Problem with Maps in OS 6 (New iPhone too)

    I read on abc.com that there is a big problem with the Maps app on the iPhone 5.  Not sure if it is in all devices running OS 6 but I would think so.  has anybody heard about this?  Anybody heard if a remedy is on the way?
    I am also wondering if people are sleeping out at the Apple Stores? I do not have a TV so I can't watch the local news.  I called the local Apple Store and this afternoon the Apple rep who answered the phone said if you want one you better come and get in line.  I askd if they plan to have a workshop (free) for the new iPhone 5 and he said NO.  I doubt that.

    No, no one has heard anything.  Seriously, have you even tried using the Search Discussions box at the upper right of this page? Or just scrolled down the page and looked at the threads about the Maps app?

  • Oracle XA driver problem with WLS 7.0.1.0, Oracle 9.0.1

    We are using simplified chinese, after swith to bea jdriver, it messed up
    all the encoding. So we cannot display Chinese character correctly.
    We are using WLS 7.0.1.0, Oracle 9.0.1 on both Windows and Solaris 8
    environment, BEA supplied JDK 1.3.1_03.
    We have many diffrent problems with oracle drivers:
    1. We want to use XA driver to support distributed transaction, However:
    * bea jdriver xa messes up with encoding
    * when using oracle 901 driver, everything works fince except webservices.
    Workshop application access the ejb, then the workshp application sets
    isolation level, but oracle driver does not support it and gives error. Is
    there a way to turn off isolation level in workshop? I tried manually edit
    weblogic-ejb-jar.xml, however,workshop cannot redeploy it after that.
    2. When not using XA, oracle thin driver works fine. But we lost XA
    capability.
    Any work around?

    I did try to change the value in this config file as well, but did not help.
    In fact, the installation default setting is with
    '<transaction-isolation-level>' commented out.
    And when I use bea oracle jdriver, it somehow messed up with database
    character set encoding, so our Chinese characters could not be retrieved
    correctly. And I try to set the encoding of jdriver to 'GBK', it did not
    work.

    Hello Ma,
    The transaction isolation level value for EJBs backing the JWS files is
    specified in the <transaction-isolation-level> tag in the
    WEB-INF/weblogic-jws-config.xml file of a Workshop project. You can
    manipulate this value to serve your purpose.
    Please do let me know how it goes.

  • Problem with images in content management portlet

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to use the content management portlet provided with Bea WLP 8.1 SP4, but I've a problem with the images (they're not displayed at all, only a lot of red "X"s). Some how it seems to be a problem with the Taglib render. It tries to get the resourceRootPath to post it in front of the src path in the image tag and it always includes the parameter that are in the URL.
    I followed the instructions in the help of workshop, so I think I've imported every needed files. Moreover, the images are in the right folder tree. The wired thing is, that the My Content Portlet works fine.
    Any help for a newbie???
    Cheers,
    Cord

    Hi Cord,
    I was having that same problem, and I couldn't find anything on this website either. I tried creating a new portal project and following the directions exactly again, but it didn't work there either. It works in the sample portal.
    So I contacted BEA Support, and they were able to provide me with a solution:
    The file url-template-config.xml (in the WEB-INF directory) has to be modified and have the {url:currentPage} parameter removed in order to get the images working for the content management portlet. For now, do this only in the section <!-- URL templates -->. Leave the other places like in WSRP etc as it is.
    I actually took it out of the WSRP places too, by accident, but I don't use WSRP anyway, and everything else seems to be working fine. And the images show up!
    Hope this works for you too,
    Beth

  • Virtual function problem with SC 4.2

    Hi
    I'm using SC CC 4.2

    not the latest patch, I realize.

    virtual int save_to_file(String filename);
    and
    class ProcessParametersEnhanced : public ProcessParameters
    public:
    virtual int save_to_file(String filename);
    (I've cut everything else out of the class definitions for clarity, and I've changed the names a bit as well, hopefully without typos).
    ppp->save_to_file(String("abc"));
    calls ProcessParameters::save_to_file(String)
    even though ppp points to an instance of ProcessParametersEnhanced, and the function is virtual.
    I've tried building a small test application, using the minimum class interfaces, but this works as I'd expect (it also works fine with gcc).
    I'm getting deseperate. Is there a bug in SC4.2 whereby it fails to resolve virtual functions correctly?
    TIA
    Paul Floyd

    Oh well, it was an SC4.2 bug
    Patch-ID# 104631-07

  • How to handle abstract XML elements with XMLBeans

    Hello,
    I have an xsd that uses abstract elements, and i wanted to ask you how can i create new XML Documents with XMLBeans? My problems is that i don't know how to handle abstaction with XMLBeans.
    Let me show you a very simple example to make you understand my problem :
    Suppose we have the following schema :
    <xsd:schema targetNamespace="http://www.example.org" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns="http://www.example.org">
         <xsd:element name="Customer" type="CustomerType" />
         <xsd:complexType name="CustomerType" abstract="true" />
         <xsd:complexType name="PremiumCustomerType">
              <xsd:complexContent>
                   <xsd:extension base="CustomerType">
                        <xsd:sequence>
                             <xsd:element name="CreditCard" type="xsd:string" />
                        </xsd:sequence>
                   </xsd:extension>
              </xsd:complexContent>
         </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:schema>I use XMLBeans to create a jar with java classes according the xsd above. Then, in order to create a new xml document i use the following code :
    CustomerDocument cd = CustomerDocument.Factory.newInstance();
    CustomerType ct = cd.addNewCustomer();
    PremiumCustomerType pct = PremiumCustomerType.Factory.newInstance();
    ct.changeType(pct.schemaType());With this code i get an XML Document like the following :
    <Customer type="PremiumCustomerType" />But after that, i cannot add an element CreditCard into this Customer element. Can anyone help me?

    In Indesign there is no way you can directly work on the XML-IN footnote, since indesign won't support XML tags in footnote stream.
    To achive that you need to have XSLT/Perl/Indesign Scripting.
    This task is achievable, you can create a auto footnote for XML workflow projects.
    1. Create an XSLT to transform the footnote to the respective places
    2. Change all the "<" ">" to some standard names, since indesign won't accept XML tags in the footnote stream.
    3. Import it in indesign and using script convert it to autofootnote.

  • Robohelp 8 for Word: Problem with the Hotspot Topic

    Hello Everybody:
    I'm a beginner user of Robohelp 8 for Word trial version. My project is a WinHelp 2000, imported from a version X3, and I have a problem with Robohelp when I save the value "Topic" of the property "Jump" of the tab what is called "General" at the window "Hotspot Properties". This Hotspot is part of a Shed Image (accesible from Help Image Properties > Shed ...  > Image Workshop > Properties button). After edit the topic, I press the "Aceptar" (OK) button (note that I use a Windows XP SP3 Spanish Version and some buttons are located)  and close the Hotspot Properties window, and I close Image Workshop window too.
    If immediately after I open the Image Workshop window and the same hotspot property window edited before, Robohelp lose the new value "Topic" and only it puts one letter. When I make the compilation they are multiple errors like this: HC3025: Warning: ESTA0058_2.SHG :  Jump to undefined Topic ID: "A".
    Please, help me. Thank you very much.
    P.D.: This image shows the problem:

    The licence you bought was for RoboHelp Office which includes both the RoboHelp for Word and RoboHelp HTML applications. Each of these three has it's own installation file so I suspect that they have installed just the RoboHelp HTML application. They should have the details for the RoboHelp for Word application, or better still the RoboHelp Office application which gives you the options of what to install according to your needs.

  • Problem with connect_by_isleaf in apex

    Hello,
    I'm having problem with a query that, executed in sqlplus and in apex htmldb workshop, gives me different results !
    try the following :
    CREATE TABLE test_tab (ID INT PRIMARY KEY, ID_MASTER INT, DESCRIPTION VARCHAR2(100),PLACE INT);
    INSERT INTO test_tab (ID,ID_MASTER,DESCRIPTION,PLACE) VALUES (1,NULL,'ROOT',1);
    INSERT INTO test_tab (ID,ID_MASTER,DESCRIPTION,PLACE) VALUES (2,1,'LEVEL_ONE_A',1);
    INSERT INTO test_tab (ID,ID_MASTER,DESCRIPTION,PLACE) VALUES (3,1,'LEVEL_ONE_B',2);
    INSERT INTO test_tab (ID,ID_MASTER,DESCRIPTION,PLACE) VALUES (4,2,'LEVEL_TWO_A',1);
    INSERT INTO test_tab (ID,ID_MASTER,DESCRIPTION,PLACE) VALUES (5,2,'LEVEL_TWO_B',2);
    INSERT INTO test_tab (ID,ID_MASTER,DESCRIPTION,PLACE) VALUES (6,5,'LEVEL_THREE_A',1);
    INSERT INTO test_tab (ID,ID_MASTER,DESCRIPTION,PLACE) VALUES (7,6,'LEVEL_FOUR_A',2);
    INSERT INTO test_tab (ID,ID_MASTER,DESCRIPTION,PLACE) VALUES (8,1,'LEVEL_ONE_C',3);
    select connect_by_isleaf LEAF,DESCRIPTION,PLACE
    from test_tab
    start with id = 1 connect by prior id = id_master
    this gives following correct result in sqlplus :
    0 ROOT      1
    0 LEVEL_ONE_A 1
    1 LEVEL_TWO_A 1
    0 LEVEL_TWO_B 2
    0 LEVEL_THREE_A 1
    1 LEVEL_FOUR_A 2
    1 LEVEL_ONE_B 2
    1 LEVEL_ONE_C 3
    If i execute this in htmldb , on the same database, i get :
    0     ROOT     1
    0     LEVEL_ONE_A     1
    1     LEVEL_TWO_A     1
    1     LEVEL_TWO_B     2
    0     LEVEL_THREE_A     1
    1     LEVEL_FOUR_A     1
    1     LEVEL_ONE_B     2
    1     LEVEL_ONE_C     3
    -> level_two_b should be 0 !!
    I found a bug that describes this (3900842) but that was executed on the DB. Isn't a query executed in the sqlworkshop or in sqlplus, executed in the same sql engine ?
    grtz,
    Chris.

    Looks like it's still a database bug. In 10.1.0.4, I get the correct results in sqlplus from the query but I get incorrect results in sqlplus if I do it like this:set serveroutput on
    declare
        l_cursor    integer := DBMS_SQL.OPEN_CURSOR;
        l_desc_tbl  DBMS_SQL.DESC_TAB2;
        l_ignore    number;
        l_col_cnt   integer;
        l_col_val   varchar2(32767);
    BEGIN
        DBMS_SQL.PARSE(l_cursor,
    'select connect_by_isleaf LEAF,DESCRIPTION,PLACE from test_tab start with id = 1 connect by prior id = id_master',
            DBMS_SQL.NATIVE);
        l_ignore := DBMS_SQL.EXECUTE(l_cursor);
        DBMS_SQL.DESCRIBE_COLUMNS2(l_cursor, l_col_cnt, l_desc_tbl );
        for i in 1 .. l_col_cnt loop
            DBMS_SQL.DEFINE_COLUMN(l_cursor, i, l_col_val, 32767 );
        end loop;
        while (DBMS_SQL.FETCH_ROWS(l_cursor) > 0)
        loop
            for i in 1 .. l_col_cnt loop
                DBMS_SQL.COLUMN_VALUE(l_cursor, i, l_col_val);
                -- print the column value
                dbms_output.put_line(l_col_val);
            end loop;
            dbms_output.put_line(chr(10));
        END LOOP;
        if DBMS_SQL.IS_OPEN(l_cursor) then
            DBMS_SQL.CLOSE_CURSOR(l_cursor);
        end if;
    END;
