Procedure works in sqlplus not in portal

hi all
i am working on oracle portal, where i made form based
on procedure and in procedure ,I had about 104 IN
parameters to be passed while running procedure,but
the oracle portal gives me error like =>
(Error: An unexpected error occurred: ORA-06502:
PL/SQL: numeric or value error (WWV-16016)and the same
procedure runs through sqlplus by passing all parameters
values.
So can anyone tell is there any restriction on the
number of parameters to be passed through procedure in
oracle portal

Looks like your post hit while I was typing mine.
I originally gave up on CAST because I was trying to cast to various types of strings. I don't have permissions to create my own datatypes or functions, so that ruled out everything else I had found on the web.
The thread you linked me to does work in SQL Developer (casting to sys.dbms_debug_vc2coll). But How would I change that to plain text? SQL Developer returns "SYS.DBMS_DEBUG_VC2COLL(QTP054650,QTP054655)".
I will probably just stick with WM_CONCAT because it will certainly be cleaner in code, but I am curious to see the complete answer to using COLLECT as well.
Forgive me if I am missing some of the basics. My background is primarily MS Access - I have never really used Oracle before.

As you can see, Query 1 is selecting character results, Query 2 is selecting numerical results. Both work from sqlplus on the host. Trying to run either of them in a user defined metric in Grid Control returns: ORA-00918: column ambiguously defined
1. Why is the error returned in Grid Control?
2. Is there a way to see exactly which column Grid Control has the issue with?

but i am configured all the ess/mss related things....and also Created for one user for Requester(send Leave Request)...and one more user for App-rover(Apporve an Leave)..
Requestor send an Leave through portal send it successfully......but i am facing a problem in uwl under work items are not showing in overview page...but in tracking work items are (Leave request)showing.....work items are not showing in uwl TASK(VERY PROBLEM)...
i am configured and also registered UWL IN PORTAL..it is good..
in sap ecc i can assigned UWL_SERVICE user to roles
1.SAP_BC_BMT_WFM_UWL_ADMIN
2.SAP_BC_BMT_WFM_UWL_END_USER
3.SAP_BC_ADMIN_USER

Hi All,
In such cases, please try to check as below :
1) Create Leave request work item from Employee and check the same under the UWL Tracking tab of employee.
2) Log-in to swi5 transaction of the respective back end system and give "US" -> manager's UserID -> Choose Tasks to be completed from the drop down -> Remove any date if mentioned -> Execute.
3) Here if you can see the Leave request created, but not on the portal, it reflects some portal issue like sync.
4) If no leave request work item is seen here, then there is a problem in the employee manager mapping or the workflow setup.
5) In such cases, you can try to check the Swi1 and check the log of that workflow to understand the current status of the Leave request.
Revert if further help is needed with more info.

Work items are not visible under UWL in portal ?

Hi,
We are upgrading from SRM 5.0 to SRM 7.0.
We have observed one issue here. Workitems are not visible in UWL in portal.
But workitems are available in SAP inbox. i.e SBWP.
Completed items we can see in UWL.
Could you please let me know any idea on this.

BSP YHAP_DOCUMENT-working in BSP but not through portals

Hi!
I am using the BSP HAP_DOCUMENT to get column access for columns in the appraisal document for 'further participant' role.
for this i changed the mode in ydocuments_where_participated.htm to 'X' and also used the BADI HRHAP00_COL_ACCESS. in this badi i have changed the availability of the columns to 'X' and in the portals i gave this custom BSP and this ypage for the iview.
when i test the page in SE80 it is working perfectly but in the portals the column access is not working.
In the debugging mode of the BADI i see that the mode which is set to "X' in the BSP page is blank when run through portals. But if i test in se80 the mode is still 'X" when the badi is hit.
did anyone phase the same scenario?
any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Approve link not working in ESS/MSS UWL portal

Hi experts,
we are using portal 7.3 with ess/mss.
in mss when user is approving a leave request, he is not ale to proceed
after few steps as one link "pprove another request" is not working.
this i a standrd portal scren in UWL. please suggest.

Logging not working in RH Linux (ALUI portal 6.1MP1)

Hi,
we've installed the ALUI portal 6.1MP1 on a RedHat Enterprise Linux 4, and the logging does not seem to be working - PTSpy does not show anything.
We've also installed the same portal version on a couple of Windows machines - there the logging works fine.
Any ideas on where to look for possible causes?

fwiw, I recently installed ALUI 6.1 MP1 on RHEL 4 Update 3 and was able to have both the Spy Logger and the consolelogger working locally on the RHEL console (running GNOME).
I then tried to access the RHEL virtual machine from my host Windows OS where I access things via Cygwin (startx) and Putty (SSH). Spy Logger still does not work (because of the SWT issues I mentioned earlier) but consolelogger works fine.
If you are still having issues I'd encourage you to open a case with tech Support.

OSA-Error message shows up in R3, but not in Portal(BSP)

Hello,
I'm working on Objective Setting & Appraisal with workflow & portal. At the template level I've put some business check which if not met at the document level throws up error msg. This works fine in R3 and the error msg is shown at the bottom of the screen at the status bar.
But this same error msg doesn't show up when I open the document in the portal through workflow. The appraisal document opens in the portal through BSPs. When the condition is not met, on saving or submitting the page remains there ... but no error msg. We tried to show the error msg as a pop up and the pop up works fine in R3 but not in portal.
Pls advice how to solve this problem.

We have used the application hap_document under BSP Application. And we have not used any standard user exit. All we have done is created a new enhancement under HRHAP00_DOC_BC ;ie; Appraisal Document - Business Check.
I can see one document_error.htm Document - Error Handling. Do I have to do anything with this page ? if so, should it not call this page automatically whenever there is an rror msg ?

ColdFusion 4.5 & Oracle 8.1.6 - Both work fine but not together!

We installed Oracle 8.1.6 and ColdFusion 4.5 on RedHat 6.2. Both individually work fine, but we cannot get the combination to work.
SqlPlus gets a connection to a remote server, so the tnslistener configuration works. We tried both the ODBC and native drivers, but the connections never verify O.K.
The only thing we worry about is that the script that CF provides for relinking of the libclntsh.so stops with an error:
(...)/8.1.6/lib naldflgds not found
ld: cannot find -lsql
We already tried the suggestion of Borren Jeng (run gennaflg from $ORACLE_HOME/bin). Regretfully this gennaflg also doesn't exist, so this didn't work for us...
We really got stuck here, so any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

The naldflgds is only exist in V8.0.5.
Here is what yo can try:
you only need to do the folling things.
1. copy $ORACLE_HOME/lib/libclntsh.so to CFUSN/lib
2. you need to chmod for your $ORACLE_HOME directory to allow the Coldfusion owner execute the file under $ORACLE_HOME. I don't remeber what the exaclty number need for chmod on $ORACLE_HOME, but you can try
"chmod -R 8.1.6" (if you $ORACLE_HOME=/home/oracle/app/product/8.1.6 you should cd to =/home/oracle/app/product)This should work. but this cause another seurity issue.

it wont be shown in outbox of SBWP
you need to check via SWIA or rptarqdbview or SWI5 for the user
these are java based tasks so will be done in UWL. you can see only the tasks but after approval they are disappeared.
The outbox shows the last 30 days by default. This default cannot be
changed. This 30 days selection period is always set when you enter
the outbox. However, the user can change the selection period by
clicking the button 'Change selection period' on top of the grid
control but this as you know will be reset once you log out.
This is how the mapping from the
backend workplace folders to the UWL tabs should work:
UWL tab                        Backend folder
Notifications                  Deadline Messages
Tasks-> Completed Tasks        Outbox -> Workitems executed by me
Tracking -> My Requests        Outbox -> Started Workflows
Tracking -> Forwarded          Outbox -> Forwarded workitems

Approval procedure required for Delivery note based on condtions

Dear All,
I have the followings situation in which the business flow is as such that Sales Quotation is made and based on the Sales Quotation AR Down Payment request is made. Once the downpayment is recieved from the customer entries are made in Incoming Payment, Sales Order is booked and AR downpayment Invoice is booked. As there are milestone payment means 30 %, 60 % which would be done through AR downpayment Invoice and final 10 % is the final AR Invoice done. Now lets say that I have a Sales quotation No 10001 having an value of USD 10000 based on which AR Downpayment Request for 30 % and incoming payment comes from the customer for 30 % which is 30 % of USD 10000 is USD 3000. After reciept of payment based on Sales Quotation No 10001 a Sales Order is been booked ( Document Number 20001 ) with a payment terms of 30 days credit. Now I want an approval procedure in the Delivery Note to do a check that if for that particular Order No the payment terms is for 30 days credit means the payment due date and if the next 60 % the customer does not pay in time (which is after 30 days) the delivery would require an approval from the Finance head.
I think the above situation can be solved from the approval procedure with the help of some query but am not able to understand as to how to work on it.
Would be obliged if you can throw some light in it.

I think you did not understood my requirement. See the first 30 % downpayment the customer would be giving at the time of Sales Quotation. Now ater 30 % is recieved sales order would be booked. Now based on the sales Order delivery would be ONLY done when the next 60 % the customer pays. If he does not pays the next 60 % I want an approval to be done for delivery.
I had mentioned in my earier thread - ''next 60 % the customer does not pay in time (which is after 30 days) the delivery would require an approval from the Finance head.''
Means I want an approval check to be done on delivery with a condition of 60 % of the order value. And the final AR invoice would be done on the last 10 %.
I hope I am clear in my requirement.

SQLPLUS: not found

Hello,
8.1.7 on UNIX (generic). With a new SID in the Oracle profile, starting SQLPLUS returns "not found" instead of connecting to an idle instance. ORATAB, TNSNAMES, LISTENER.ora are updated, link to pfile and orapw file created.
All works correcly when the SID that was created on install is used.
On my last project with 8.1.6, a new or unknown SID would start an idle instance. LSNRCTL gives the same message with a new SID in the profile.
Any ideas on what is missing ?

If you get "sqlplus: not found" then the OS cannot find the sqlplus executable. Triple check how you change "just" the ORACLE_SID, and make sure that your PATH environment variable is not being updated, or is being correctly updated. [From the message you are getting I think you're using 'sh' or 'ksh'. But if you are using 'csh' then you might need to execute 'rehash' if the PATH is changed.]
Using the '/nolog' option to SQL*Plus may eliminate the different ORACLE_SID as an issue.

Running BW Query in a Web, but not using Portal

Hello guys,
I'm running a BW Query using Web (From Query Designer) and it keeps trying to open a portal page. Then I need to change the URL manually to something like this:
http://sapdev:8000/sap/bex?......
Then works fine, my query runs with no issues. Where can I define to do not use Portal url ? (I'm checking the following document: How to... enable SAP BW Web functionality....").

Oracle stored procedure works in toad but lots of error in java

I've tested this stored procedure in toad 7.3 and it completes ok.
I do pass the same IN parameters and OUT parameters.
I registered the out parameter as a OracleTypes.CURSOR
if it works in toad or pl/sql, what is wrong? how can this be fixed.
however, when i execute this in java, this is the exception and garbage i receive:

I'm using a callable statement.
The strange thing is that, when i remove all IN and OUT paramters in the java code and the stored procedure, both the call to the stored procedure and teh execution of the stored procedure works.
The moment I add in just a IN parameter (in the stored procedure, and setting it in the java code) it stops working, and i receive this error.
