Product Numbers and their Length

I am doing that for product numbers ,
LOOP AT IT_MATKEY INTO wa_matkey.
len = strlen( wa_matkey-ext_matnr ).
len = 40 - len.
do len times.
concatenate '0' wa_matkey-ext_matnr into wa_matkey-ext_matnr.
enddo.
SELECT SINGLE matid FROM /sapapo/matkey INTO matguid WHERE matnr = wa_matkey-ext_matnr.
I am using this code in a user exit, it_matkey is the import paramter of the function module, when the products are CIFed they are stored in it_matkey.
Unless I am writing the above code for product IDs with numbers, select statement is not working. Is there any better way of doing that?

  • Listing product numbers and linking related pdf

    I need to create a web page that just lists our product
    numbers and link a pdf for each. We are having problems with our
    original website where no changes can be made (including pricing).
    I am building a new one and although I have our shopping cart 90%
    complete, this company wants a list to go up with the home page so
    we can take the other site down while I continue building the
    proper remaining pages for our site. I can copy and paste my
    product numbers into DW, though I will have to go in an link a pdf
    to each. Any suggestions on the best way to do this?

    You're right the copy and paste is easy, but I don't know how
    to get the PDF's linked without doing each one individually...
    which isn't difficult, just time consuming and mind numbing. I was
    hoping for suggestions as to the easiest way to bring the data into
    DW, whether it was copy and paste or to import a .csv or another
    avenue that I'm not aware of. Additionally, if there's an easier
    way to link 150+ PDF's.
    Because I'm new to DW (building my first website), I also
    don't have the knowledge of the best way to set up that temporary
    page. At this minute I merely created a blank HTML page and created
    a table, then I imported a product .csv file to fill that table.
    When I launched both Safari & FF, the products look fine in
    their columns and rows along with the few PDF's that I linked.

  • Sy-msgno - What are the possible numbers and their meanings?

    I am wondering what the possible numbers are for the field sy-msgno and their meanings.  I am trying to determine what some code is doing but there isn't any documentation.  The code is looking for, and setting, specific values in the field sy-msgno so knowing what these numbers mean will help me out.
    Thanks,

    It is the system provided Message Number.
    Suppose you wants to display the error message provided by some SAP standard code (Ex: returned by functional module) then this is used along with sy-msgid to get the error message.

  • Fixed-length numbers and strings

    Hello,
    I have to make a critical decision about API usage. I would be grateful if some of you could share their experiences. This will help me make an informed decision and avoid potential trouble further down the line.
    I have to use fixed-length integer numbers and fixed-length strings such as for example:
    -A string that is exactly 5-letter long (no longer and no shorter than 5 letters). e.g. "abcde"
    -A number that is exactly 8-digit long (no longer and no shorter than 8 digits). e.g. "12345678"
    Ideally I would get some sort of exception when the "container" for the letters or digits contains less or more than what the spec says.
    I am not sure which classes or primitives could meet my needs. As far as the fixed-length string is concerned I initially thought of using a array of chars but an array of chars is not that easy to manipulate and contains "garbage" until you explicitely fill it in with data. I'd rather some sort of class.
    Can anyone please advise me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Julien.

    Why not use the same thing like in the case of the String
    /**Warning: this is an example and not very good design.*/
    public class FixedInteger {
       private int min, max;
       private int value;
       public int getValue() { return value;}
       public void setValue(int v) {
            if (v >= min && v < max) {
                throw new Exception();
            value = v;
       /**ex. min = 10000, max = 100000 for 5 digit numbers*/
       public FixedInteger(int min, int max, int value) {
           this.min = min; this.max = max;
           setValue(value);
    }You can do tricks like convert it to immutabla like the String and Integer class in the Java Api

    I can give you some high level idea from which you can develop required dashboards for your requirements.
    1.Number of goods being produced without error
    2.Delays caused by machine downtown
    3.Errors caused by workers
    4.View Summation statistics of company profits
    5.Find out who are the major customers
    6.Review safety procedures by measuring worker injuries
    7.Quality of products being made
    8.Products produce and profits per worker
    9.Delays caused by each product manufacturing process
    10.Cost to sales ratio of each product
    11.Worker injuries and costs to production
    12.Top retail distributors and product sell-through rates
    13.Revenue by sales representative
    14.Revenue by product or product group sold
    15.Delays caused by shipping problems
    16.Order cancellations or returns
    Manufacturing Dashboard 1 - For selected date Range  With Target, Current Inventory, Current Open orders, Waste etc
    Manufacturing Dashboard 2 – Orders by Location wise say at different operation stages with Quantities and Values
    Manufacturing Dashboard 3 – Production schedule and their current status
    Manufacturing Dashboard 4 – Mfg. Revenue and Mfg. Operating profit

  • Control of serial numbers in productions (parts and final product serials)

    Hi,
    We are starting using our production module in SBO 9.0 PL11 and it is all quite messy.
    We need to manufacture an item that has a serial number made of parts, some of which have serial numbers. Just imagine a car. The car will have its own serial number, but the engine, the radio and so on will have their own serial numbers. But the cables, tyres, etc do not have  a serial of their own.
    We set a BOM model, made of every part (with or without serial) and set every line to manual.
    Then we place a PO for our parts, and then do a Goods Receipt and enter the individual items' serials.
    Then, we issue a Production order for our final product made of all of our parts in the BOM. Then we release it for production.
    Next, it all gets messi. If we create a receipt from production, we can issue the serial number of each of our final products.
    If we create an Issue for Production, we can choose what serials to pick for production.
    Big problem is that we loose all traceability. There is no way (or we can't find it) to know what are the serials of the parts that created the final product.
    Not only this, issue for production looks (serial number transaction report-wise) looks like a goods issue, so just a way to decrease your parts stock. And receipt of production looks like a goods receipt. So you just now you received something for production or that you issued it to production, but there doesn't seem to be a link between them. No traceability at all.
    Can anyone throw some light into this? I am sure we are doing something really wrong, but can't see what.

    Hi,
    1. But how do we control what serial numbers for each part we used to create the final product specific serial? (I use engine #003 and radio #376) to create product with serial #076. And we always produce in quantities greater than 1.
    Please provide an sample process production with FG item and components with required serial format to check
    2. This query is not returning any rows. I am inputing a final product code, with production orders, and nothing shows up.
    As mentioned, the above query works for batch managed items. Once we conclude process, I can try modify above query to meet your purpose.
    3. It sounds really complicated to have to open both receipt and issue to track a single manufacturing operation.
    You can use relationship map option to view both issue and receipt for single production.
    4. Besides that, what is the exact workflow? I don't quite understand issue and receipt, should I run both independently?
    Standard work flow for production order:
    1. Create bill of material
    2. Create planned production order based on above BOM
    3. Make sure required components are arrived.
    4. Change planned to released status.
    5. Issue components to production by issue production
    6. Receive finished item from production through receipt from production.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Add another e-mail account to your messages, so people could reach you on that e-mail from messages. As soon as you are online (if you have wifi only iPad) you are able to send and receive messages. i.e. your son can send you a messages from his iPhone addressing it to your (that additional) e-mail address.

    Log into your online account. In the, 'I want to', box type, Manage Contacts.
    Place your cursor over any contact, a pop screen will appear with the option to print your contacts

  • How to handle same product with different part numbers and pricing in SAP.

    I am a new user and want to learn if the following scenario can be handled by SAP.
    Our business buys a product from a supplier which has 2 different part numbers and prices. It is the same product. One is the primary product whilst the other is available only as an upgrade option with a different part number to a mainline product at a cheaper price .
    Our issue is that we sometimes buy the upgrade option with a mainline product to get the better price even though these go into stock. Basically we need to have the items linked with both part numbers in SAP at different prices but inventory both in and out only going against the primary part number. Any ideas?

    Thanks Jitin
    I did give them different part numbers and then attached a Bom containing the primary part number against the upgrade option however I really need to have the secondary item as a sales and purchase item but non inventory so the stock comes from the primary part. Ideally  if we receipt the goods in as the secondary number the inventory goes to the primary part. If the second number is an inventory item then I have the issue of the same part with different part numbers sitting in stock at different prices and having to rely on employees understanding the difference.
    Sorry to be so confusing. I will do some more testing over the weekend and see if I can find a suitable solution.
    Thanks
    Martin

    Both phones were iPhone 4s and everyone was with different carriers.

    Simple process. If an iPhone go to the Apple Store and not Verizon
    the phone from Verizon will be a refurbished device and not new unless under the 14 day worry free guarantee

  • Like all other software companies, Mozilla is becoming complacent and their products antiquated.

    A pervasive problem within the software world is a complacency in which they take no regard for the concerns of their customers while having neither incentive nor motivation to correct basic issues with their product. Take the issue with Firefox freezing up. Customers write to Mozilla with a concern about the Firefox problem, Mozilla’s response is to shift the blame to Flash. After contacting Flash, we discover they have shifted the blame to individual web sites. When addressing these concerns with a favorite web site, they blame either Firefox or Flash. Nobody accepts responsibility, nobody attempts to correct the problem, and Mozilla never takes the initiative to collaborate with Flash to ensure their product is top notch. Further, these companies do not even attempt to address the problem on their end and will never admit to having an issue with their product. The result is that I download Maxthon, Chrome, or some other browser.
    But Mozilla and Flash are not alone. iTunes is now a terrible product and the new iOS has several issues with no attempt on Apple’s part to fix the issues and Windows 8 is a ridiculous operating system designed for computer incompetent individuals. Instead of correcting software problems, these companies repeat the mantra that the issue is on the part of the customer and not with the software. While blaming the victim may be reasonable to a marketing rep, it alienates the victim and makes them eventually loath the company laying blame upon the customer’s doorstep.

    '''''Mozilla is becoming complacent and their products antiquated.'''''
    Antiquated? Surely you jest!
    Most users who come here to complain about Firefox, express their outrage that something they loved in Firefox '''''was changed!'''''
    As far as initiative regarding Flash, Mozilla is working hard on '''eliminating''' the need for Flash altogether!

  • Sony know their products fail and that support is dire.

    A customer after having time with their latest product has run into a dead end, one would think, Sony being one of the bigger brands that "support" would be quite a simple task.. Generally I’m talking about phone support here, but this goes for ANY Sony product. Have you noticed that Sony are fantastic and bringing out these superb phones that do so much more than your current product, making you wish you had waited a little while...
    Their products are built to around the age old light bulb theory of consumerism.
    Leading  manufacturers have ALL conspired to keep the lifetime of their products far below their real technological capabilities.....
    Your current model will fail just as a newer model arrives - how convenient....
    This way, they ensure the continuous demand for "latest" products...
    Hence, long-term profit  for themselves..
    I suggest instead of looking at what I write with your small Sony mind, and consider doing a little research.

  • How to attempt production orders and get feedback by using IDocs

    Hi,
    I'm new new to SAP and R3 respectively mySAP. I need to know how to use IDocs (over file system) to attempt production orders to an extern application and how to get the feedback of the whole orders and single operations.
    I found the IDoc-base-type "PPCC2RECORDER01" to send production orders. Is that the right base type for production orders?
    (In consideration of compatibility and support me was recommend to avoid the old types OPERA2 and CONF21.)
    What IDoc-types do I need to get feedback about a production order and its operations?
    I hope someone is understanding my questions is able to help me. Please apologize my broken English.
    Thanks!
