Profiler can't connect to AIR for Mobile?

Hey all,
Anyone else experiencing an issue connecting the FB4.7 Premium profiler to a mobile app?
FB, AIR SDK, debugger plugins, debugger and release projectors and flash playerglobal all updated to the latest version.
In a brand new empty mobile project I just hit the profiler, make a standard config to export to AIR Simulator and set it to iPad as the device. It pops up a white box, waits 15 seconds and:
- Added full rules to Windows Firewall to allow the application (even down to specifying the port)
- Changed ports and reconfigured the firewall in profiler preferences
- Disabled Windows Firewall completely
- Checked for any FB or Adobe software updates overall, all up to date
- Closed and restarted FB
- Restarted computer overall
Nothing is getting this thing connected. FB4.6 Premium connects up perfectly. As soon as I launch profiler in FB4.6P I get the dialog to choose what to profile, check the boxes, it starts profiling perfectly fine.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks for confirmation, good to know it's working and the problem is on my end. Here comes a lengthy reinstall..
Edit:
Reinstalled, still doesn't work, same error. Ugh.
I logged into another workstation and activated it there, the profiler works.
I'm mostly putting this here in case someone else has the same issue with the profiler as it's the primary purpose you buy FB Premium over FB Standard. While I like Scout, I don't find it to be an adequate replacement unless your workstation is turbo charged (read: Not a laptop).

  • Any idea when adobe air for mobiles is coming out?

    Hi,
Any idea when adobe air for mobiles is coming out and on what phones will it be available?
    Thanks,
    Gaurav

Sorry, only Apple will know that, Rob; and even if we knew, nobody would be allowed to post it here, before the raw support has been released.
Keep checking this link.  Apple - Aperture - Technical Specifications - RAW Support
I'm waiting for the Aperture update so I can start playing with my pics.
I can understand, that you are eager to try your new camera - try Adobe's DNG converter, while you are waiting - http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=106&platform=Macintos h
or shoot rwa&jpeg and set the Import panel to import raw&jpeg, with the jpeg as original. YOu can change that later, when the raw support has been released, and use the raw files you imported.

  • Macbook air or iPad air for mobile use with iMac at home

Ok i have a 2012 21 imac and i love this machine. I also have a 2013 13 macbook air for mobil use at work and in class. I am considering though selling the Macbook air and strictly getting an iPad air for my mobile computing needs. I already always use iCloud for all my doc and i don't do anything beyond taking notes for class, web browsing, email, iMessage and occasionally remote desktop support support for things at work on my macbook air. I believe an iPad air could fill all those needs and with something like the clam case pro for the iPad air when it comes out would be perfect for my desire to always type on a real keyboard instead of a virtual one. but I'm still a little unsure. Ive had a laptop and a desktop since 2005 so I'm a little apprehensive to ditch the laptop in favor of a tablet.
What are everyones thoughts and advice?

Personally, the iPad is NOT a very good laptop replacement and you are getting a much more limited mobile OS.
If you already have a MacBook Air, it is a more capable mobile device and has the instant on capability as an iPad.
With your MacBook Air, you get the full OS X operating experience, also.
Plus, iPads do not have a bulit-in keyboard and trackpad and doesn't have all of the ports and connections your MacBook Air has.
Plus, your MacBook Air has a bigger screen, more RAM and more hard drive storage than an iPad.
An iPad is a downgrade from your MacBook Air.
Why would you even consider a downgrade to an iPad from a much more capable MacBook Air.
Stick with your MacBook Air. It is head and shoulders much better mobile Apple device than iPad.

  • Adobe AIR for Mobile Devices?

    Hi,
I was just recently asked whether there is a project for developing Adobe AIR for mobile devices?
This would be really exciting as you could develop your own projects for mobile devices as well as desktop computers...
    Any ideas?

It is possible. The thing is Apple won't let developers put their AIR apps into Apple's iTunes store.

  • The Future of AIR for Mobile.... ? Uncertain?

Just wondering what everyone elses thoughts are on this. There's a lot of chatter going on about this.
    Looking at Adobe's roadmap for Flash ( http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplatform/whitepapers/roadmap.html )
ActionScript "Next" development has been cancelled
Flash Player "Next" development has been cancelled
AIR for Windows 8 "Modern UI" has been cancelled
Kevin Lynch (Adobe CTO) has left Adobe to go to Apple ( didnt see that one coming )
The thing I don't get about Adobe is how they are pimping out that AIR be used only for gaming. You don't ever hear them say that AIR is a great platform for developing Multiplatform Mobile Apps.... which it is!  I would argue its the best simply because of how easy it is to develop multi-platform apps with ease.
I work in corporate marketing in a billion dollar+ company and I'm using AIR for mobile apps and it's awesome!
Now looking at my own personal roadmap moving forward...  do I want to keep AIR on the radar ?
I've also built apps using PhoneGap, etc..  and its a nightmare. It's tedius, performance is mediocre.  I really felt that AIR was moving in the right direction.
I'm going to Adobe MAX in May.. I'm hoping that they announce something enlightening.
    What are your thoughts ?

I think opposite. I think Adobe is failing to see what a potential it is. I agree with all of your points about how great Flash Pro is to work in. I just created a game for an arcade cabinet, iPhone, iPad, Android & BB10 all in a single build. That's pretty amazing.
However I think the writing is on the wall at this point.
ActionScript4 "Next" development has been cancelled
Flash Player "Next" development has been cancelled
AIR for Windows 8 "Modern UI" has been cancelled
    These 3 are huge.
Also Adobe's CTO and biggest advocate for Flash leaves Adobe to go to Apple.
Adobe is betting on HTML5. I hope that in the future Adobe releases a tool like Flash Pro that does everything the same except uses JavaScript. This would be nice.
It's really confusing to me though ..  Adobe says "To build mobile apps use PhoneGap"  ..  but to build mobile games use AIR.
Why not promote how powerful AIR is at building Mobile Apps?
Adobe MAX this year is going to be very interesting that's for sure.

  • My ipad can't connect to air printer?

my ipad can't connect to air printer?

Restart your router. Unplug it and let it reset.
While you do that you might as well power down the printer and restart the iPad / iPhone as well.
Power everything back up, and AirPrint should be restored.

  • Rtmfp connection between content running on flash player and air for mobile

HI, I've been developing an app for some time that makes use of a secondary application as a remote controller.
Until AIR3.5 this worked smoothly through RTMFP: the original app (the "player") started listening at both local network ("rtmfp:") and with the aid of the Cirrus service ("rtmfp://p2p.rtmfp.net/mycirruskey"). The controller app (the "remote") first try to establish a connection on the local network and, if it does not succeed, try to locate the player using Cirrus (usually when it was run from a device connected on a 3G network).
This approach was surprisingly effective (I guess rtmfp and the cirrus service are indeed very nice), but now I'm updating my apps using AIR3.7 and the problems began - and I didn't change a single line from the original code... First, I am unable to connect the mobile app to the flash player using local rtmfp, the netgroup just doesn't get any neighbor. Second, even with the aid of Cirrus, I can only establish the connection if the player and the remote are connected on different networks (like one on my wifi connection and the other on 3G). If I put both, the computer running the player and the mobile running the remote on the same wifi, the connection is never completed.
To make the problem even stranger, if I save the player as an AIR application, for mobile or desktop, the cirrus connection does work perfeclty, so it seems that the problem is related to connections to the flash player itself.
Is this an expected baheviour of AIR3.7 for some sort of security issue (limiting flash player/air apps connection)? If not, is there a way to solve it?
    Thank you!

    Added one yesterday:
    https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3560258
Interestingly air 3.7 on IOS to Desktop air 3.7 will work.
I am investigating if I can use 3.7 on Android to connect to 3.7 on iOS - so far I cannot get the apk to install on my Galaxy S3, compile using 3.4 and all is good. Air runtime has been updated via Play store - and build uses compiled runtime.
I cannot get Flash player 11.4 to connect with air 3.7 on iOS either.
    NetGroup.Neighbour.Connect never fires.
All SDKS above 3.4 upto 3.8 beta exhibit the same problem.
3.4 works perfectly and can connect to flash player, and other Air/iOS devices just fine.
Shuld not be a issue with firewalls etc, thay are all open.
I can email you the fla, it is for a product so I can't post it here.
    Thanks,
    Steve.

  • Can I use macbook air for ios app development?

I would like to know if i can use macbook air for ios app development or macbook pro is only option?

Just to reinforce what shldr2thewheel says - be very sure what size memory you want if you get a Macbook Air. There is *no* way to change after purchase. My advice is to go for the 4GB option - especially if you want to do app development.
The internal storage (solid state drive) of the Air can be upgraded if required but it will probably be an expensive option. If you don't think the storage will be enough then maybe using a USB connected drive to hold non-essential files is an option.
As to deciding between the Air and Pro you are basically making a decision between portability (Air) and expandability/bigger screens (Pro). What is more important to you?

  • Adobe AIR for mobile expectations and misconceptions?

Hello, I am somewhat confused by the content published by Adobe which claims that AIR for Android or iOS publishing creates a fully native app.
For example, in this Adobe Developer Connection article (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/logged_in/abansod_iphone.html) written in May 2011, the following claims are made:
"Since we are able to compile ActionScript to ARM ahead of time, the application gets all the performance benefits that the JIT would offer and the license compliance of not requiring a runtime in the final application."
"When you build your application for iOS, there is no interpreted code and no runtime in your final binary. Your application is truly a native iOS app."
After reading a large amount of information like this from Adobe and other sources, I went ahead and bought an Android phone. After actually getting the .APK file published from Flash Pro CS 5.5 onto the phone and installed, it of course gave me the message that I needed to install Adobe AIR to run the program.
How can that be "truly a native app?" The same happens in iOS, obviously. Is Flash running in a web browser a "truly native app" in that case? The extra step of making users download the Adobe AIR package makes it all seem so half baked compared to actual native apps. I'm assuming there is no way to package AIR with your app? Not that it's a great alternative, but I can't think of what else would make this situation better.

It appears you may be confusing iOS with Android a little bit. The article you referenced was speaking solely about iOS, not Android. So, yes, they were correct.
Now, there is a new option in AIR 3 that allows you to package your applications WITH the AIR Runtime for Android. This is called "Captive Runtime" and allows you to create applications that do not need to reach out to grab AIR from any marketplace because it is already packaged.
Here is more information on Captive Runtime:
    http://www.tricedesigns.com/2011/08/10/air-3-0-captive-runtime/
Here is how you can set up Flash Pro with AIR3:
    http://www.swfgeek.net/2011/09/26/targeting-flash-player-11-rc1-air-3-rc1-in-flash-profess ional-cs5-5/
Note that if you are using Flash Pro to create an app with AIR 3 you will need actually package the app with the Command Line. The tooling is not yet available in Flash Authoring Environment.
Here is how you can do that:
    http://www.youtube.com/user/iBrent#p/u/6/MRcoJ6ClLqo
it is similar to this, but with slightly different switches. There is more info in the command line help.

  • Can Cisco connect be used for small business web filtering?

I am searching for a web filtering solution for our small church.  The core requirement is to use a hardware-based solution to filter all internet traffic.  Our current wiring looks like this: [ISP router] --> [switch] --> [Open Mesh wireless access points].  Can I connect a Linksys EA2700/3500/4500/6500 between the [ISP router] and the [Switch], disable the Linksys wireless, and use Cisco Connect to filter all the internet traffic?
More info: We will only have a handful of wired/wireless devices which we have control over.  We expect most of the rest of the traffic to be generally outside our control via personally owned devices connecting thru the public wifi.  Therefore any solution which requires installation of software on individual devices will not work.
(If there are other threads on this topic I'd be more than happy to read them, I just couldn't find any.)
    Thanks!!

  • How many can get connected in stratus for p2p communication?

    Hai,
How many users can get connected to the stratus? For morethan 10 users, Does it looks cool? How many streams can a user send and receive?
    Advanced Thanks

Adobe Stratus, the hosted RTMFP rendezvous service, can handle a very large number of simultaneous users.  it is limited only by the number of computers we currently have in our cluster, and we can increase its capacity by adding more physical computers.
there is no inherent limitation to the number of peers any one Flash Player application can have.  there is a default limit of 8 1:1 NetStreams that can be accepted by a publishing peer, but that number can be changed in ActionScript.  the more realistic limiting factor to the number of streams that a peer can handle is the network bandwidth available to that peer.

  • Can't Connect to vpn for longtime

Can't connect to my vpn connection for long time. after 5 or 10minutes its still connect but there is no send and recieve. whats the problem? is there anyone can help me?
    Thanks

I've been working on this all day. I have a pretty big learning curve here, so I don't know if I am making much progress. I did some reading up on the dig commands, and ran them, but I don't really know exactly what it all means yet.
Also,it seems like VPN services use ports:
    500, 1701, 1723, and 4500
My ISP is blocking the following ports:
    25, 80, 135, 136-139, 445, 1433, 1434, 1900
If those are the right VPN ports, my ISP isn't even blocking the ones I need for VPN. Is there a way to test this without going somewhere else with my computer?
They are definitely blocking port 80, which I suppose would be why I can't connect via http from the outside. Now, I'm not planning on running a high traffic website or anything, so I'm not too worried about violating the terms of service. So I was trying to see if I could change the http port to another one and possibly still use that service lightly too, for personal, not public use. I just won't be using it enough that I could possibly raise any flags, so I'm not too worried. I found the file etc/services has a couple lines regarding using port 8080 as an alternate.
    http-alt 8080/udp # HTTP Alternate (see port 80)
    http-alt 8080/tcp # HTTP Alternate (see port 80)
I tried to connect to my server from the outside with the fully qualified domain name and IP followed by :8080, but it still won't connect. I also tried forwarding port 8080 in my router to the server, but that didn't help either. Do I need to configure something manually to be able to use port 8080 as an alternate for port 80? It seems like this is meant to be used this way, but I just don't really know how to take advantage of it.

  • Can't connect to Facebook for HTC Sense

So I stopped receiving updates for my contacts from facebook on my Droid Incredible (no updated profile pics, no status updates from linked contacts, etc.). Logging into facebook worked just fine from the facebook app.  In my attempt to logout and log back in I think I ended up doing a remove account. Whoops.(I know just enough to be dangerous).  Now I can't readd the Facebook for HTC Sense account.  How do I get it back?
I tried to create the account with the email and password that I normally use. I get a text message saying that my facebook account was accessed by an HTC Sense device and then the Sign In never finishes...it just hangs.

    Hi there,
did anyone ever give you the answer.  The same thing happened to me yesterday.
    thanks!
