Profiling tool for applets using Microsoft JVM?

Hello All,
I have an applet designed to work in Microsoft JVM. It is slow and sometimes crashes the browser and I doubted that it caused memory leak. Therefore, I wish to have a profiling tool which can collect time and memory consumption from Microsoft JVM.
Please advice.

simply: there is none.
Its even impossible to denug it withought a legal copy of J++, trust me MSJVM really sucks.
I have to create a really big applet which is compatible to Netscape-4.7 and MSJVM-3167+ and its nightmare. One change and the whole cardhouse breaks.
I do not want to make you feel sad, but leave it.

PS: I would try to create as few objects a s possible, the ms-gc is not very powerful nore stable...

How to debug applet on Microsoft JVM

Hi,
Right now I have a Java applet application written by Visual J++ and running on Microsoft's JVM. OS is WinXP SP2 with IE 6.
I want to write an external application to get the data from applet when Text Field's value is changed and also want to simulate to click button, input text, and press keyboard to applets.
I can make it if the Java applet application is running on Sun's JVM. It is because Sun provides JVMDI (Java Virtual Machine Debug Interface) and JNI (Java Native Interface) to monitor and control applets in browser. We can configure Java Plug-in to inject a DLL into IE browser to get the Sun's JVM runtime environment and then use JNI to operate Java objects. I have written several external applications for Sun's JVM using JRE 1.4.2_xx. And they work well.
But for Microsoft JVM I don't know if I can do the same thing. I wonder if Microsoft has the same interfaces or has another mechanism to handle this.
Any helps will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

the applet is in jar form right? that jar is just another bit of static content your site delivers, much like an image. put it in a folder inside your server-side application, where you put other static content, and link to it with a URL
for the future, you're better off not telling people how urgent your problem is - it's only urgent to you, and doing that can put people off answering at all

Deploy Symantec certificate profiles to mobile devices using Microsoft Intune to manage company resources like WiFi

We are planning to deploy Symantec certificate profiles to Mobile devices to manage company resource like WiFi. I've seen documentation on Technet and the post here http://ronnydejong.com/2014/12/15/part-1-deploy-certificates-to-mobile-devices-using-microsoft-intune-ndes-overview/ that
we need to install Intune NDES connector which needs to be installed on NDES server. These docs are true when we are using Microsoft PKI.
Here, we're planning to use Symantec cloud PKI to deploy the certificates to mobile devices. So, I would like to know which are the required on-premises components ? NPS, NDES or something else? Any documentation URL would be helpful ;) We're in planning

Does that mean, NDES is needed only for initial enrollment process of a mobile device? We don't need it deploying Symantec certificate profiles to manage company resources like WiFi VPN etc... Or I'm totally lost here?
My understanding is : Mobile devices will get enrolled to Intune and that device will become a managed device. Now, the mobile device needs to get a connectivity to company resources like VPN or WiFi and for the we may need to deploy certificate profiles.
Isn't it ? So, you were saying for this process we don't need to have NDES. (or I'm wrong here as well).
If so, we'll be deploying a public certificate to all the devices via certificate profile deployment and the devices need to get connected with issuing authority to get a device specific private key before connecting to WiFi or VPN?

Creator the right tool for applets?

Hi.
beeing new to Sun's Java Studio Creator I would like some opinions whether the Creator is the tool to use if use cases mainly focus on applets that get their data via WebServices.
My main use case would be an applet with a tree-control showing a lot of machine tools and an area that displayes some charts. Charts would be rendered by a 3rd party component. The Applet should talk to a WebService exchanging XML-Data.
I just don't know if Creator is the right tool for that.

Personally, I would opt for Net Beans 5.0 beta 2 for this type of scenario. The IDE is much better suited for Swing and AWT type of applications. In addition, it has some impressive layout managers for Swing.

I don't know what tool he was using, but it could be a Firefox add-on. You can browse the add-ons and try to find the tool you were introduced to: In the add-ons manager you will find a search box in the upper right corner.

Profiling Tools for Jdeveloper

Is there any tools that can be used for the purpose of profiling , code review for the JDeveloper IDE. Or does jdeveloper come inbuilt with such features.

When I disable my left windows key for gameing using Microsoft keyboard and mouse software, I can no longer type in firefox. How can i fix this?

Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse Software that you install with Microsoft keyboard and mice, (latest version) allows you to disable your windows key so that you don't accidentally hit it when gaming. When I take advantage of this feature, I can no longer type in Firefox. Typing in Firefox is completely disabled. Other browsers, windows, applications work, but not Firefox. What is it about the windows key that firefox needs for typing. Strange problem, but annoying because I have to use a different browser while game. Certainly not a deal breaker, but kinda strange.

To find out the list of user profiles marked for deletion using powershell or C# for SharePoint 2010

I have Disabled the MysiteCleanup timer Job and disabled few user profile accounts in AD. Then in SharePoint user profile service, ran the User profile full synchronise job.
I am able to find the marked for deletion records from the table (UserProfile_Full) in SQL server and also in the Manage User profile menu of the central admin under "Profile missing from import"
view. But am not getting these records, If I execute the below powershell command.
$upa = Get-spserviceapplication -name 'User Profile Service Application'
Set-SPProfileServiceApplication $upa -GetNonImportedObjects $true
This command shows only the system account and not the accounts, which are marked for deletion .
Please suggest how to get this result.

Wow the GUI looks great.
Sadly, it's of no use to me as I personally am satisfied with rsync. But, I am sure others will find it useful.
Edit: By the way, you should put qt qt4 (whichever version you are using (I am blind )), in the PKGBUILD depends array.

Explorer's Microsoft JVM - sun's JVM plugin

Hi All,
I have had to renew verisign's certificate of a signed applet. I have bought a sun's signer certificate to sign my applet. I have done all the work an it has worked perfectly.... with sun's jvm plugin for Internet Explorer !!! I have signed a jar file but M$ wants a signed cab...
How can I (if I can) sign the applet, using sun's jdk, to make it functionally with M$ JVM ???
It's very important (and urgent) for me because I have bought a certificate and maybe I have maked a mistake...

I might be missing something, but I use a single .pfx file certificate for signing using Microsoft's signing tool and Suns' jarsigner. There's a code sample over at http://forums.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=2&thread=4210 that lets you load pkcs12 certificates into the Java keystore.

Is it possible to have both Sun and Microsoft JVM's on the same machine and direct individual applications to the JVM that they are designed to work with best?

If you're dealing with applications:
use Java Web Start (http://java.sun.com/products/javawebstart/index.jsp) or a script to specify what precise JRE version to use at run time.
For applets: use the <applet> tag to use the MS VM and the <OBJECT> or <EMBED> tags to use the JavaPlugin (i.e. the Sun JRE). See http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/index.jsp

I need Microsoft JVM

I need to run a program through a Microsoft JVM because the program requires access to the registry and activex controls via the com.ms package. If I run this program through another JVM I will just get permission exceptions. I downloaded the Micrisoft SDK for Java 1.4 but it's bin directory has no "java.exe". How cna I do this?
I have an old version of JDeveloper which allows me to specify using Microsoft JVM, and it will work- but I need to be able to run this thing standalone.

Starting CF instances using different jvm.config files

There are instructions for creating/using individual JVM
configs for each
CF server instance here:

The instructions cover starting the instance and specifying
the alternate
config via both command line, or as a Windows Service.
But what about via JRun Administrator? I see no option to
specify any
arguments for the "start" process.

have you ever considered spending $195 and calling support for
help? You'll spend _A LOT_ more than that upheaving and moving to a
new application server (which will also have its own set of unique
issues - including crashing). If all you've done is complain about
your problems on the fourms, then I've got no sympathy for you.
This isn't an official support center.
nyck6623 is on the right path. The default GC, quite frankly,
sucks. But you need to be _very_ careful switching out your GC. Do
it wrong, you can make things much worse. See these documents:

As always, becareful in what you do, and load test load test
load test. You also might want to look into turning on VerboseGC so
that you can see what your heap is doing. It'll write out to your
server-out.log file. That'll help you tune the JVM as well.
Finally, you might want to stop the GC from running every 60
seconds. When the GC is running, ColdFusion isn't.
Turn on VerboseGC = -verbose:gc -XX:+PrintGCDetails
-XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -XX:+PrintHeapAtGC
Force GC = -Dsun.rmi.dgc.server.gcInterval=3600000
I'd bump your threads up to 10 or 12, and limit the cached
queries to 50. And if you can afford to do it, add some memory to
the servers so you can up your -Xmx limit. CF likes to breathe,
deeply. I've got 4GB in my servers, and I set -Xmx1024M and the
heap routinely runs around 700MB (with CF actually using around
200MB).
You might also want to consider turning on metrics so you can
see how your threads and memory are doing.
