Profitablility application failed to deploy into Essbase

Hi,
We have created one Profitability application in workspace application library. It is failed to deploy into the Essbase.
Its showing essbase application names in Essbase but when we open outline, its empty.
Here is what profitability logs say...

Please help on it.

EPMA uses studio to create Essbase cube. To narrow down the issue
Can you connect to Essbase from EAS? (I'm not expecting any issues here)
Try adding the same Essbase connection in Studio and create an application?
Is this on static IP? Did anything change on the server side (IP change...)

  • LCM remigration of deleted application fails to deploy in EPMA 11.1.1.3

I am trying to copy a production planning application via LCM which has previously migrated successfully. Then I export the Shared Services, EPMA and Planning artifacts, delete the appliction in the target Workspace, then load Shared Services and EPMA artifacts in the target Hyperion instance. When I try to deploy the application, I get the following error:
Detail : An Exception occurred during Application deployment.: The Hyperion Essbase operation failed with an error code: %ERROR_CODE%.com.hyperion.planning.olap.EssbaseException: Unable to load database [%s] (1002097)

BTW, this is running on Linux, except for EPMA which must run on Windows of course. Is there something I am doing wrong here? It seems strange that it works fine on an installation that has never had the planning application deployed before.
    Thanks,

I was talking about the Essbase application itself, not Essbase agent.
You can browse the applications and open the outlines in EAS, even if your application/database is stopped.
Make sure you have a green check mark on both the Essbase application and database icon in EAS.

  • Webdynpro Application is not Deploying into Netweaver 2004s From NWDS CE

    Hi,
I Developed Webdynpro Application in NWDS CE 7.1 SP5.
I Am using Netweaver 2004s AS JAVA .
After Deploying application i will get page can not be displayed and in the browser url is following below
    http://localhost:-1/webdynpro/dispatcher/demo.sap.com/firstapp/FirstApp?SAPtestId=2
my actual port is 50000 but it gives -1.
and also i need one clarification NWDS CE 7.1 Applications Supports the Netweaver 2004s or
it requires Netweaver CE 7.1 AS JAVA.
We have to develop applications using webdynpro, mobile perspectives in NWDS CE 7.1 SP5
    Is it Supports Netweaver 2004s.
    Thanks
    Subbarao

    Hi
NetWeaver CE 7.1 uses Java 5 and so does the NWDS CE 7.1 by default. The server you have is NW 2004s SP 9 which runs on Java 1.4. So you simply can not build with Java 5 and deploy it to a server with JRE 1.4, you will get a class unsupported version error.
Next you are using NWDS CE 7.1 to connect to server 2004s. The architecture of the Java servers in SAP is changed. 2004s has SDM and dispatcher and a server process at its simplest form. In CE theres an ICM and server. (SDM & Dispatcher combined). You no more give the message port number when you set up the JEE server of NWDS 7.1 instead you would use instance number. When you register a NW 2004s server with NWDS 7.1 (instance numbers are available for 7.0 servers as well), the studio fails to find the deploy mechanism (SDM or ICM) hence you see a port -1.
Lastly the architecture of WebDynpro is greatly changed from NW 7.0 to NW 7.1 so dont even think of deployment to previous versions.

  • Loading PCM applications into Essbase

    Hi Everyone,
I'm hoping that someone in the forum can help me with this. I am working on a Hyperion Profitability and Cost application (in EPMA) and I cannot deploy the application into Essbase. When I try and deploy the application into essbase, the application is created but the outline is left blank and I get an error message informing the action has failed (in EMPA, not Essbase) with no other information except that it has failed (no indication of a log file etc). I have checked the dimensions and they do conform with the way Essbase requires them to be set out.
Further more, if i load up the training application it will deploy the application and create the outline in Essbase (hence there is no application error or program start-up errors).
Does anyone know why my application isn't loading into Essbase ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure that your Essbase Server, EAS Server and Profitability Server are up and running before you deploy any profitability application...
I am facing issues with Staging tables in Profitability Application, please let me know if you can help me with these...

  • Spring application won't deploy but nothing relevant is logged?

    Hi
I'm trying to deploy a WAR application to OC4J using DCMCTL. The problem I am experiencing is that if I include certain Spring configuration directives inside the application, a Spring BeanCreationException is thrown and the application will not deploy.
So far, so my bad. But in order to debug what is wrong with the application, I need to see the log that Spring has written as it fails to start up. However OC4J apparently removes this log because the application doesn't start successfully. DCMCTL merely gives an error that it's RMI layer can't de-serialize the BeanCreationException, which is to be expected as of course the deployer doesn't know classes inside the WAR it is deploying. Oracle support have been contacted and so far their help has been underwhelming to say the least ('check the web-inf/lib has the BeanCreationException' was the last less-than-useful suggesstion from them, whcih of course it does, spring-beans.jar is definitely in the WAR as is the rest of Spring that we are using).
I have been trying unsuccessfully to add either a log4j.xml or logging.properties file into my web-app's classes directory in order to make Spring send its log output someplace where it will be kept after the application fails to deploy. But so far there has been no joy. A little bit of 'flying blind' fiddling has reduced the area of spring configuration to approx where the problem is located, but I'm afraid I need some sort of decent log output in order to locate the precise nature of the problem. If I comment out that section of the config the app starts OK, so in general Spring is working (as is the other application WAR wired with Spring). How do I get to see that log output that I need? It's nowhere in any Oracle log. What logging configuration do I need to change to make Spring's stack trace visible - OC4J's configuration seems awfully strange to me, not at all like a usuall logging configuration?
At this stage we are desparate to get that stacktrace as it's a massive blocker on development. So even if anyone can tell me how to bypass all of oracle's overly-complex logging system and send it through the JVM's global configuration it would still be a win for us for the time being.
    thanks

Just FYI incase anyone ever googles this question. So far the issue is unsolved. It is logged still with Oracle support.
We isolated the area of troublesome Spring configuration by 'flying blind' (that is, making small changes one by one and trying to redeploy until finally it did).
Then we edited the edited the configuration of the deployed application in-container and restarted the container.
At THIS point it logged several illuminating entries into the server.log. These were generally 'Duh!' moments regarding missing jars that various bits of Spring or Hibernate depended on. Using this extremely tedious method eventually we got the app into a state where it could be deployed.
I will note here that it is massive design fail for the error not to be correctly logged into the server.log when deployment attempted, which is why the issue is still logged with oracle and we will be pressing for resolution.

  • WSIL-App deployment into home instead of oc4j_soa

When we installed SOA Suite 10.1.3.1, configuration assistant tool "Oracle Web Services Insepction Language Configuration Assistant" deployed the WSIL-App to the "home" oc4j instance instead of the "oc4j_soa" instance ( "oc4j_soa" isntance is the one we created during installation).
    1. Is it the way it is supposed to deploy?
    2. Does "home" oc4j instance get created even if we specify different (say oc4j_soa) oc4j instance name in the "Administrative Settings" screen during installation?
    Installation Env:
    Red Hat Linux 4
    Thanks,
    Joe

    To answer your questions:
    1. yes, the WSIL-App is supposed to go into the Home instance
    2. yes, an Oracle application server always as a Home instance.
The home instance is the container where all J2EE stuff of the application server is deployed into. So it's required to make your application server function.

I have started working with Essbase studio sometime back and I am able to deploy BSO cube with success using the TBCSample Database which comes along with Essbase. Now I wanted to deploy ASO cube, as no sample database is available I thought to create one, I extracted ASOSamp using ODI to CSV files. Then I bulk inserted the csv extracts into MSSQL 2003 server which created 11 tables (Age, Geography, IncomeLevel, Measures, PaymentType, Product, Stores, Time TransactionType, Year). The above mentioned table does not have any keys(Primary, Foreign) as it is an Essbase export.
I then successful created ASO Cube Schema using the newly created sample database in MSSQL, validated cube schema without any errors.
    Essbase Property Setting:
Measures Hierarchy is tagged as Dynamic Compression at dimension level
Time, Product and Year Hierarchy is tagged as Multiple Hierarchies Enabled, Year does not have multiple hierarchies but it has formulas for Variance and Variance % member. Is there a way to tag Year as Dynamic hierarchy?
But when I try to deploy the cube to Essbase I receive following errors:
    Failed to deploy Essbase cube
Caused By: Cannot end incremental build. Essbase Error(1060053): Outline has errors

    Amr Azim,
You must have logged in thru a dedicated connection to any server through say VPN before deploying. This way the sdm uses the same login as that of already establised connection.
So 'sign of'  all connections to any servers before deploying and redeploy your application. Here you will be prompted to supply the sdm password and deployment shall proceed.

  • Failed to deploy web application with same name twice

    Hello-
On Oracle 10g Application server I deployed an WAR file called "anbadmin", then undeployed it. The undepoloyment failed from the OEM so I undeployed it manually via removing its entries from server.xml.
When I tried to deploy it again with the same name I got this:
Failed to deploy web application "anbadmin". Failed to deploy web application "anbadmin". . The evaluate phase failed. The Adapter used in the evaluate may have thrown an exception.
    Resolution:
    Please call Oracle support.
    Base Exception:
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError
    null. java.lang.NoSuchMethodError
Is there a solution for this?
    Regards

I think I know the solution. We encountered exactly same message and no further deployment could be made. It appeared message in "dcmctl" utility was much more helpfull than the one in EM (though you still have to use "getError" command...)
If you are using file-based repository, you have to issue command in dcmctl utility "resetFileTransaction". This closes repository and opens it again.
