Programmatical access to process instance information in WL Integration

Hi,
I am looking for a possibility to get process instance information from a business process I designed in WebLogic Workshop 8.1.
I would like to get process instance information via SOAP with a web service client.
Is there anyone who can help me in this? Thanks!
Best regards,
Denis :-)

There is a MBean for getting this information. Just build a Webservice, where you get the ProcessMBean and send the message back to the client.

  • Getting Process Instance Information and Task Properties in a process

    Iam using WebLogic8.1 Integration BPM feature. I've designed a Worklist based application.
    In the business process, i've to call a java class method from the business process
    which takes the process instance and task related properties (viz. the task id,
    task name, the current actor etc.). How could i supply these values from within
    a business process.

    You can get the task infromation by calling the task control method TeskInfo getTaskInfo()

  • Security Settings For Deleting Process Instance Information

    Hi there,
    We are currently having issues with our more "novice" users deleting "unsuccessful" or "error" process instances. Are their any security settings we could use for this type of user profile that would not allow them to delet these instances?
    This is in PS Financials V8.9
    Thanks, Dan
    Edited by: user6340243 on 5-Mar-2009 9:58 AM

    Hi Dan,
    Yes you can do that. The process file associated with the Userid is not having Permission to alter process request.
    Identify the Process Profile permission list:
    Navigation: PeopleTools > Security > User Profile
    Make changes to the Process profile permission list:
    Navigation: PeopleTools > Security > Permission Lists
    Select the appropriate process profile permission list.
    Go to 'Process' Tab. Click on 'Process Profile Permissions' hyper link. Under 'Allow process request' section should be changed to Owner or none based on your requierment.
    Hope this helps.

  • Is there a way of programmatically accessing fault/error/BIT information from the PXI-6723 during runtime?

    In fact can you access fault information for all PXI cards?  How do i detect that there is a fault with a board from within the software so i can report this to a higher level application?
    Thanks
    Martin

    Hi Robert,
    So in essence what you're saying is that if a component on the device fails there is no way to know this as long as the device is still communicating with the PC? It would appear that the Self Test function is a bit of a misnomer - it doesnt actually do what it says on the tin.
    So which of the 2000 errors can actually be returned by this function call?  I appreciate that there are a broad range of errors but I would like to know which one(s) can in reality be returned by this function.  I need to somehow categorise the errors into whether or not the device is healthy so i can communicate this to our customers software (wo have no knowledge of internal NI error codes) so they can decide whether the board needs replacing.  Of the 2000 error codes which of these could potentially relate to a hardware failure of some sort as opposed to a software configuration error.
    I have found this thread which details some error codes on a NI 446X device (is there something like this for all errors on all devices?):
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/95328C2FAF9DA99A862576E200785C11?OpenDocument
    Lastly where in the NI DAQ help references are the list of error codes and meanings as listed in NIDAQmx.h.  For instance what does DAQmxErrorPALThreadControllerIsNotThreadCreator actually mean?  I don't want to wait for the error to occur in my system before I get information on what it means - it would be useful to know and understand before I write the software what errors may occur on each device.
    Thanks

  • Access Process instance ID within ccBPM?

    Hi All,
    Is there anyway to access the process instance id within a BPM like for example in a container operation? I searched the forum but could not find any leads.
    What I am trying to achieve is to use User Decision step. I have configured this and in the transaction BSWP I can find this item in the Inbox. The heading of this item shows the step name used in BPM design not any meaningful title. I can modify this title but want to access and display process instance id. Otherwise, there can be a lot of items in the User Inbox and nobody can say which item belongs to which process instance.
    Any clues?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sudheer

    Hi Sudheer,
    I suggest to use a transaction ID from the payload of the messages you use in the process. The process ID comes from a number range in PI. A transaction ID from the payload may have higher value for the user.
    If you cannot use the payload, have a look at the existing [context objects|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/d6/e44fcf98baa24a9686a7643a33f26f/content.htm] provided in the condition editor during container operation or in message mapping. You might find something of use for you, e.g. the MessageId.

  • API / Webservice to access the state information of a bpel process instance

    Hi,
    i have a question about the ccBPM runtime API.
    Is there a API or Webservice provided by SAP XI/PI, which accesses the state information of a bpel process instance.
    "access" means:
    1. At which activity is the current process instance located
    2. Access to the context information of the process
    Thanks and best regards
    Di

    Hi Swarup,
    Thanks for your quick reply.
    I designed a simple BPM process with less than 10 activities. To monitor the process running state i want to build a small AddOn instead of using the standard xi monitoring tool because of its complexibility.
    Thus i am looking for some useful informations about a api or webservice provided direktly by sap, which enables me to access (read only) the state information of a process instance. for exmaple at which activity is the current process instance located?
    Best regards
    Di

  • How to get process instance activity information

    We have the following need:
    The process instance will be created either manually or by integration from another system. It is not possible to have two instances running for the same process, so we want to check if there is already one instance running for a given process. The business information that identifies the process uniquely are attributes of the process data object.
    We need to find out how to:
    1) check if there is already existing instance for the process giving the business information that identifies it
    2) check if the existing instance is running or is ended/terminated
    We want to know if there is any existing API we may use to achieve the needs above, what are them and where we can find more information of their use.
    We have tried searching in the API documentation what methods could be of use but we were not able to identify by the existing documentation any one that could attend our needs.
    We also didn't find any topic in this forum about it.
    If possible please give us some examples of use.
    Version: Oracle BPM 11g

    Hi,
    In the SOA Suite 11g you can use the Java API together with Composite Sensor to achieve these behavior:
    1. First, create a composite sensor in the operation that create the process composite instance, initializing the sensor with the business information that identifies the process uniquely. This composite sensor can be used to search for the composite instance either on EM or via API. For more information about how to create Composite Sensor, see http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/integration.1111/e10224/sca_compsensors.htm#insertedID0
    2. Using the Java API (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/apirefs.1111/e10659/toc.htm), search for the composite instance by the Composite Sensor, as explained at: http://blogs.oracle.com/soabpm/2009/08/soa_suite_11g_-apipart_3_-_f.html. With a reference to the composite instance, you can check its internal components states.
    The following libs must be imported in your java project:
    - <middleware_home>/oracle_common/modules/oracle.fabriccommon_11.1.1/fabric-common.jar
    - <middleware_home>/oracle_common/soa/modules/oracle.soa.mgmt_11.1.1/soa-infra-mgmt.jar

    - <middleware_home>/oracle_common/webservices/wsclient_extended.jar
    I hope this can help.

  • Show information for BPM process instances to possible future assignees

    Hi all,
    My environment is 11.1.1.4.
    I want to develop an ADF application that shows users information for BPM process instances which will possibly produce a user task assigned to them in the future.
    What I have done is
    1. Get BPMAppRole from the user name.
    2. Get the list of CompositeInstance with STATE_RUNNING from the BPM process name obtained from the BPMAppRole.getName().
    From the list of CompositeInstance, I have to extract the instances that will possibly produce a user task assigned to the user in the future.
    But I have no idea how to do this.
    Maybe my current approach is totally incorrect.
    Please help!
    Regards,
    Kenji

    Hi,
    By chance I found a method that you can use:
    oracle.bpel.services.workflow.query.model.TaskSequence getTaskSequence(oracle.bpel.services.workflow.verification.IWorkflowContext p1, oracle.bpel.services.workflow.task.model.Task p2, java.util.List p3, java.util.List p4, java.util.List p5, boolean p6) { }
    getTaskSequence might help you. This is under ITaskQueryService interface.

  • How to access biz data of process instances in workspace at any time in 11g

    Hi,
    We are using Oracle BPM Suite 11g.
    Our users want to be able to check and search the business data associated with the process instance at any time (i.e. even after the instance is completed. And the business data should be included in the task list or search result list in the BPM workspace.
    I am new to Oracle BPM 11g. Please help. For the data to be displayed in the workspace, should I define them as “Process Data Objects”?
    Regarding to how to display the data, I find something about Flexfield. But the Oracle document says the Flexfield is for the data that saved in human workflow database schema. When the process instance is completed, will the data in human workflow database for this instance be removed? Can I setup flexfield for the Process Data Objects?

    Hi Ramandeep,
    Apparently I am not getting the required exception.
    I have a TF that outputs an Invalid Region Site when I run it and the when I run it I only got the loading page image of ADF.
    Looking at JDEV logs, I see an Invalid Region Site error
    Here's what I did, I created a TF template with only one view in it like this.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252" ?>
    <adfc-config xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller" version="1.2">
      <task-flow-template id="TFTemplate">
        <default-activity id="__7">errorPage</default-activity>
        <exception-handler id="__14">errorPage</exception-handler>
        <view id="errorPage">
          <page>/com/test/errorPage.jsff</page>
        </view>
        <use-page-fragments/>
      </task-flow-template>
    </adfc-config>My error page as this:
    <af:panelGroupLayout id="pgl1">
         <af:outputText value="Error has occurred!" id="ot2"/>
         <af:outputText value="#{pageFlowScope.MyErrorHandler.stacktrace}" id="ot1"/>
    </af:panelGroupLayout>...and my bean.
    public class MyErrorHandler
      public String getStacktrace() {
        ControllerContext context = ControllerContext.getInstance();
        ViewPortContext currentRootViewPort = context.getCurrentRootViewPort();
        Exception exceptionData = currentRootViewPort.getExceptionData();
        if (currentRootViewPort.isExceptionPresent())
          if(exceptionData!=null)
            return exceptionData.getMessage();
        return null;
      }But exception data still returns null.
    I exactly wanted to show this invalid region site but it seems I cannot catch it.
    Any idea why?

  • How to Migrate Process Instance in Process Workspace with ps4fp

    Hi everyone,
    I am using BPM 11gR5 with ps4fp, I want to Migrate Process Instance in Process Workspace, then deployed two version for a BPM project. but can not find the "Migrate" menu in "Process Tracking tab->Action" in process workspace.
    Is it correct for the step I did or Does anyone know where the "Migrate" local.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    shifeng

    The process information is stored but in an MDS database. You should not access that information or change it as it might render the system unstable. If you want to access previous instances you should set up a separate relational database and store the information there within your process. It sounds sucky tbh. I was appalled when i found out but when you think about it, bpm is supposed to sit on top of something, so its something you will have to live with. You still need a performing back end system- bpm is not the solutions to all problems.
    Again, not an expert here so please correct me if im wrong.

  • Showing the process instance state.

    My application for material purchasing has two phases:
    1. the user fills an online request form (providing item, quantity, price, etc.) and the request is saved in the db;
    2. from within the application the user starts an approval process for his request.
    Still using this application, the user can later on look again at his request. Now I would like to show him the state of the process instance associated to it. The best for me would be to link, from my application, the same diagram shown by the Process List Viewer, with a green square on the activity in process.
    Is it possible? If yes, how?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Harsha,
    the url you provided returns the following exception:
    The requested deployable object 'sap.com/tcbpemwdui~procvis' is not deployed on the server.
    I don't know if it's a matter of sw level. I am using NWCE EHP1 7.11 SP04. Do I need to upgrade to 7.2?
    Besides, I discovered that this url is working fine:
    http://server:port/bpem/pv/index.jsp?processInstanceId=<32_char_processinstanceID>
    Anyway, to have one of those url working I need to get the <32_char_processinstanceID> programmatically, but I don't know how. I searched through the documentation, but I didn't find anything.
    Can you, please, help me?
    I think that the functionality I am trying to privide to the end user is quite common.
    After filling an online form and after submitting it for approval, the user is extremely interested in the progress and in the final outcome of the process. Such information is provided by the Process List Viewer, where he can find, for example, the process instances he has started, but it's hard to correlate one instance with the request submitted. Searching through the requests is easier and is done with relational queries; from here it would be extremely useful to link any information about the state of the process instance.
    Can you please comment on this?
    Thank you.

  • Access a RoleMapper instance directly?

    Is there a way to programmatically access a weblogic.security.spi.RoleMapper instance directly?
    I have an existing portal app in which roles were stuffed into the UUP through direct database access. I'd like to implement a RoleMapper for the roles, and as an intermediate solution, have the UUP call the RoleMapper instance directly to fill up its roles. Then, the application team could switch their code on their own schedule for referring to the RoleMapper/isUserInRole interface directly. Is that possible? Thanks.

    You can't do that like this. A normal process runs in the user environment it is started in and can't be accessed by another user. The only architecture I could see working here is to separate the application in the core engine that does all the acquisition and logging, and an UI part that can connect to the core engine through any Interprocess Communication like TCP/IP. You then can setup the core engine to start as a system service so it can be connected to from the UI application and controlled to start and stop it's acquisition as well as retrieving data for viewing.

    Hi Matt
    Till you get exact answer, try indirect approach. I did view page source and could not find the details in the source code. Then I clicked on image to show in new browser and thats when I got this link: You can dig into this imageRenderer.jsp file that can be found in one of the WAR files shown below. Look into EARs also that my have WARs with this jsp. Mostly there should be some sort of Servlet also to display the audit trail. I just checked from bpm/workspace Process Tracking Tab. I did not looked from EM Console tracking tabs though.
    beaHome\Oracle_SOA1\soa\applications\OracleBPMWorkspace.ear has a OracleBPMWorkspace.war file. See if this direction helps

  • Is there a way to access ABAP OO instances from a batch job report

    Hello,
    I am looking for a way to access ABAP OO instances from a batch job report. My circumstances are the following:
    I have got some ABAP OO coding that identifies other objects (class instances) that have to be processed (they have a DoIt method that does some calculation). As this processing is time consuming and performace relevant I have to parallelize this in batch jobs. This batch jobs however can only be "simple" ABAP reports according to SM36. The problem is now that I dont really know how to tell the batch job report what objects to process. Somehow I have to access theses instances from  that batch job report.
    Does anybody have an idea?
    Greetings
    Matthias

    Hi David,
    thanks a lot for your help. After a lot of searching on the net this seems to be the only way to cope with it. However I am not sure about the locking mechanisms and if its suitable for mass data processing. In the help page you suggested the following is stated which I do not fully understand::
    "The current lock logic does not enable you to set specific locks for the following requirements:
    ·        Many parallel read and write accesses
    ·        Frequent write accesses
    ·        Division into changeable and non-changeable areas
    Although the lock logic makes the first two points technically possible, they are not practical because most accesses would be rejected."
    Does this mean
    a) if I dont want to set "specific locks" for frequent write accessess I am fine
    or
    b) I am discouraged from use shared memory technics for frequent write accessess?
    In the latter case I will have a problem...
    What do you think?
