Programmatically changing objects in Master Layout

Is there any way to access and modify objects in the master template of a child report through the script?

Hi Punkmonkey,
I just tried it, and the VBScript doesn't even see the master layout objects.  You could probably load the master layout first, make a few changes, save it, clear the REPORT panel, then load your regular layout(s) with the checkbox set to automatically update the master layout elements.  But if you want to execute object customizations on a page-by-page basis, then it looks like those objects need to be in the regular layout.

  • Changing a Programmatic View Object's query at run-time

    Hi,
    I've created a programmatic View Object using the information in '35.9.3 Key Framework Methods to Override for Programmatic View Objects' in the Oracle Middleware Fusion Guide and bound it to a BarChart. This has worked fine using the following:
    String myColumn = "Quant1";
    protected void create() {
    getViewDef().setQuery(null);
    getViewDef().setSelectClause(null);
    setQuery(null);
    String myQuery = "SELECT Service as MyService, " + myColumn + " as MyValue FROM ColumnTestTable WHERE 1 = 1";
    getViewDef().setQuery(myQuery);
    setQuery(myQuery);
    I also have my data updating automatically. I have public properties in my viewObjImpl class which I can set and update the value of myColumn. I then thought it would just be a case of re-calling the create() method and the SQL would be updated and my chart would auto-update using the new column to select it's values, the value of the property updates and the create method is called but the chart doesn't display any different data and stops auto-updating. Does anybody know if this is possible and if so what I may have missed?
    Cheers, Tom

    Hi Timo,
    I moved everything to a different public method and solved the problem by firing the execute() method which I hadn't been doing previously and the chart updates with the correct data.
    However, once I execute the SQL my chart stops auto-updating with changes to the data in the database - do you know how I update the SQL query but keep my chart auto-updating? Perhaps I have to re-register for the registerDatabaseChangeListener for the query collection?
    Thanks in advance, Tom

  • Programmatically Change a Property Node Link to Object

    Is there a way to programmatically change a "link" to an object in a property node?  I'm trying to create a user configurable front panel for a project that I'm working on, in which the user can change the caption for numerous controls and indicators.  I would like to set-up a for loop that will take information contained in a string array and change each caption accordingly, instead of having 100 different property nodes on the block diagram.  If you need anymore details, let me know and maybe I can attach a picture to the response.

    There's various ways you can do this as far as exact implementation. You will need to use something to identify which control you're dealing with. Attached is one way that uses the control's label as a lookup. You could, for example, use a default caption instead to make it more apparent to the user which control they're specifying to change.

  • Programmatic View Objects + View Links

    Ive constructed some programmatic view objects to grab data from 2 custom java business services (for example: Persons and Addresses). The reasons for them being custom and separate are out of my control.
    I need to easily represent a relationship between these 2 view objects so Ive constructed a ViewLink between them. However I cant figure out exactly what ADF needs from me in terms of method implementations in my ViewObjects?
    When I drop the master data control onto a JSF via a Tree table, it looks as though its not actually filtering the detail rows. I.e. if master is a Person, and detail objects are Addresses, each Person tree node has all Addresses under it. Im assuming this is because the Address ViewObject is programmatic and so ADF doesn't know how to filter the results?
    How can I setup this ViewLink between 2 programmatic ViewObjects such that the ViewLink works like its supposed to?

    Hello,
    Steve Muench´s sample 132 implements what you are trying to accomplish. Inspect the sample and let us know if you have questions about it.

  • View Link on two programmatic view objects

    Hello,
    I use Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.1.0_GENERIC_090615.0017.5407
    I have two programmatic View Objects with data from other sources (an ArrayList in my example).
    Now I would like to create a View Link on it. How can I do this?
    I'm quite new on Java and ADF...
    I know it is possible because I already found Steve's example 132 here [http://blogs.oracle.com/smuenchadf/examples/|http://blogs.oracle.com/smuenchadf/examples/]
    But could somebody create a simple example based on my example classes below (which is understandable for a newbie like me ;-) ?
    Has been asked already here, but I did not found a solution as yet.

    Rolf,
    I guess when we try to do it for you, we end up with almost the sample code provided by Steve Muench.
    So there from my point of view it doesn't make sense to do it all over.
    Take some time and study the sample code, run it without changes and after that try some changes which suits your use case better.
    If you don't understand what's going on in the sample post the question here and we try to help you.

  • View Links for Programmatic View Objects

    Hi All,
    I created a read only VO called MyVO based on a sql query.
    I created 2 programmatic view objects, MasterView and ChildView.
    In a custom method in AMImpl class ,I iterate through this MyVO resultset and get the rows in a Row object.
    Based on some attributes values of the Row, I populate both master and child View Objects.
    I have created a view link between Master and Child Programmatic View Objects and have exposed them in AM.
    Now I run the AM, and run the method exposed in client interface.
    Now I click on my master and child programmatic views.
    I see that the rows are populated in both of these programmatic VOs.
    But when I click on viewlink which I have exposed under master, it doesnt show me any
    record for child.
    This is my method of AMImpl which is exposed in AM client interface.
    public void constructLines(){
    ViewObject vo= this.getMyVO1();
    ViewObject master=this.getTransientVO1();
    ViewObject child=this.getTransientLineVO1();
    Row r,masterRow,childRow;
    int count=0;
    while(vo.hasNext()){
    ++count;
    r=vo.next();
    masterRow = master.createRow();
    if(r.getAttribute("QuoteHeaderId")!=null)
    masterRow.setAttribute("QuoteHeaderId",
    r.getAttribute("QuoteHeaderId").toString());
    if(r.getAttribute("QuoteLineId")!=null)
    masterRow.setAttribute("QuoteLineId",
    r.getAttribute("QuoteLineId").toString());
    if(r.getAttribute("LineNumber")!=null)
    masterRow.setAttribute("LineNumber",
    r.getAttribute("LineNumber").toString());
    master.insertRow(masterRow);
    childRow= child.createRow();
    if(r.getAttribute("RefLineId")!=null)
    childRow.setAttribute("RefLineId",
    r.getAttribute("QuoteLineId").toString());
    if(r.getAttribute("QuoteHeaderId")!=null)
    childRow.setAttribute("QuoteHeaderId",
    r.getAttribute("QuoteHeaderId").toString());
    child.insertRow(childRow);
    This is stopping me from my development progress.
    Any suggestion to solve this will be of great help.
    Thanks,
    Prabhanjan

    Hi..
    have you define relationship correctly between masterVO and childVO.sometime there may be the problem.

  • Send changes of Artical master data from sap to nonsap (idoc outbound prog)

    Hi Experts,
    I am  new to interfaces
    I have one requirement in Idocs, i.e the changes of artical master data is send to sap to nonsap system through idoc.
    idoc type is ARTMAS05, msg typ is ARTMAS.
    I am giving some information for my object.
    For article (MATNR) by site (WERKS plant)
         If MRP Type (MARC-DISMM) = u201CX0u201D
              Then if changes to fields:
              MARC-KZAUS     Discontinuation ind.
              MARC-AUSDT     Effective date out
              MARC-NFMAT     Follow-up article
    Then send idoc type ARTMAS05 with the following data
    segment E1BPE1MATHEAD
         MATERIAL
    segment E1BPE1MARCRT
    MATERIAL             PLANT                     DISCONTINU
    EFF_O_DAY            FOLLOW_UP
    Systems Referred to:
    The planning system for our client is nonsap system. This software requires to be informed of relevant changes on articles in order to start its planning runs. When an article is superseded by another we have to send the replacement article (if any) as well as the discontinuation date.
    Dependencies/Prerequisites :
         Change pointers for Article master active
         Change pointers active for fields:
         MARC-KZAUS      Discontinuation indicator
         MARC-AUSDT     Effective date out
         MARC-NFMAT     Follow-up article
      Idoc ARTMAS05 required with reduction in order to only send relevant fields
    Filter to only send idocs for materials in the u201CAutomotiveu201D type where MARC-DISMM = u201CX0u201D.
    So this is my requirement, please send some sample code or idea how to complete object.
    with regards,
    gs reddy.

    Hi,
    All the details mentioned seems to be correct.
    just change one "automotive" material and check change documents are getting generated.
    i hope partner profiles are already in place.
    once change docuements are inpalce check RBDMIDOC program is scheduled in back ground or you can manually execute the program for testing.
    and check the IDoc generated.
    do you  want supress some segements?
    di your NOn-sap ssytem can accept Idoc?

  • Pages don't reflect changes in their master page

    I'm using InDesign CS5.5 (v. 7.5.3) with Mac OSX 10.8.4. I found one old question about this problem in another forum (with no submitted answer):
    Assume you have a simple document with one master which simply features a text frame. Well, now if you add some inset spacing to the text frame on the master, this is immediately reflected on the pages to which the master had been applied. However, if you edit the master again and set the inset spacing back to zero, the text frames on the pages to which the master had already been applied keep the inset spacing. If one adds new pages, the text frames have no inset spacing, as I would expect. Can someone tell me why InDesign behaves this way... i.e., why are the changes to the master not reflected on the assigned pages when I set the inset spacing back to zero.
    This question was asked re CS 2.0. The problem seems to remain in CS 5.5.

    I made the changes to the frame inset in the master pages. This is a normal setting for frames, and not complex--and in any case, the point was that I had mistakenly set an inset value, but wanted to reset it to zero, so really nothing to create as an object style. So I reset the value to zero in the master pages. No update. I tried reapplying the changed master page to the doc pages. No update.
    You note: "And if you reset the text frame in the Master it won't reflect in the pages."
    Is this a known feature/bug? Why shouldn't inset values be part of master text frames and thus updated with them? It doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
    Thanks for the suggestion about object styles, though. I don't think it applies here, but I can see the usefulness elsewhere, and I've never really looked at them.

  • Mass Change for Service master

    Dear Experts,
    I've tried to do Mass change for service master.. in transaction MASS, i couldnot able to find the object for service master there..
    Is there any possiblity to do mass change for Service Master
    thanks

    Hi,
    I have tried ur scenario. Mass change for service master was possible using the TCode: MASS. But if u go to the Tcode:MASS, system asks object type. object type for service is not available in the match code/input help(F4).
    At any time, if u want to know the object type for any transaction , goto the Tcode: SW02.(path: SAP Easy access: SAP Menu->tools-> ABAP work bench->overview->business object overview( SW02).
    click on materials mgmt.-> external services mgmt.-> service master ( in the tree list).
    Object type for service master: BUS1005
    this business object is useful for list display for service master records(get list), read detail data for a service master record, create& change service, display object, check existance of object.
    object type for attributes in service master: IFSAP
    reference table: ASMD
    goto SW02, to find object type for any transaction.
    i think this information is very useful to u.
    reward me according to ur uasge of this information.

  • Programmatically change the query used to generate Oracle Reports

    I have two queries. Depending on some parameter value, I would like to use one of these queries to generate my report. Is it possible to programmatically change the SQL query used to generate the Oracle Report.
    Thanks

    There are two options:
    - The easy way
    In the report paper layout create two frames, one for each query , and at runtime
    display only one based on your parameters. (using format triggers on the frames)
    - the not so easy way (but more elegant)
    create the query at runtime using xml customizations using the examples from
    the following documentation:

  • Find/Change object size

    We have a document where each page header/number needs to be changed to a different language. We can find change the text ok but when the text is changed the text box is too small. Unfortunately the headers are not on master pages and the colours vary depending on the background colour.
    How can we do a find/change for the size of the text box?
    We want a text box of size 5mm x 20mm to change to 5mm x 35mm, expanding to the right.
    As far as I can see there is no way to do this with the inbuilt find/change object. Any ideas?

    I think you're doing it a weird way, but who am I to criticise, I've done far weirder things.
    If you don't want to add this to the master page then that's fine, I think you'd be better off and it would make things easier in the long run.
    For changing the width of a frame you'd need a script to that, and I really cannot help you on that one, scripts are not my forté.

    This almost works except when I try to print out the attributes I get an error. I beleive I have to override some of the view object framework methods. If so, how do I go about this? Is it the same methods overridden in this example Getting a View Object's Result Rows from a REF CURSOR? http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2003/03/03/gettingAViewObjectsResultRowsFromARefCursor.html

    Yes. only difference is that your VO will just have one row in it.

  • Share with portrait mode in master layout

    Hi there,
    i am trying to create my own personalised template for ibooks author which is coming along well, until i view the template in portrait. after this it all goes down hill!!!!!.
    My widgest that I have placed in the master template do not appear in the portrait mode. I have tagged them and thought i have done it all right. i am not able to click the shared with portrtait box it is not highlighted. does anyonw know how to help me with this

    That option is part of the master layout for (groups of objects in) a chapter.
    In your example, that HTML (an individual object) widget should be a thumbnail on the left when in Portrait...tap to expand. Is that not happening? Which template did you start with?

  • Can you programmatically change properties of the Detailed Navigation?

    Is there an SAP EP6.0 API call to allow one to programmatically change the width of the Detailed Navigation, or programmatically hide or unhide it?  I realize that this can be preset, but I am interested in dynamically changing these values.
    Thanks,
    John

    Hi!
    If you look to the sourceCode of your EP (rigthClick->show source) you'll see that some JavaScriptFiles are loaded. One of them is called:
    "WAandNavPanel.js"
    Inside this file are some nice functions like "collapsePanel()" and so on. I didn't try, but perhaps you can use them or they can show you the right way.
