Programming an application to communicate to an anritsu spectrum analyzer.

Hi, i'm trying to create an application to communicate with the MS2601B, Anritsu Spectrum Analyzer through the GPIB port.
I'm using a new GPIB card from National Instruments, model: 183617"k"-01, and the NI488.2 protocol.
I have a problem when i send instructions as IBWRT or IBRD, the device doesn't make anythig, but it works when i send IBCLR or IBLOC, so i don't know what happens to it.
I know it works perfectly with an old HPIB card, and using instructions as IOOUTPUTS or IOENTERS,
Maybe to communicate with this Spectrum Analyzer it's necessary to compile the program with a special file or library that i don't have.
Also when i start the MAX 2.0 (Measurement & Automation Explore
r) NI program, doesn't answer to the *IDN? query or to the especific commands (to control de instrument) i send to it.

Thank you for contacting National Instruments.
Open up MAX again, expand the Devices and Interfaces tree, right click on your GBIP card and select Scan for Instruments. Make sure that it successfully finds your instrument and does not give you any errors. If it is unable to find your instrument, check your cabling and connections.
If MAX finds your instrument, right click on the instrument and select Communicate with Instrument to open the NI 488.2 Communicator. In the Send String field, type "*IDN?". You do not have to precede it with IBWRT to send the command. Click the Query button. If your instrument does not send a response, check to ensure that your instrument is 488.2 compliant. If it is not, you will need to obtain the
specific command set for that instrument from the manufacturer.
If everything checks out up to this point, open up LabVIEW. Instead of using the 488.2 functions to communicate with your instrument, try using the VISA functions. I have written a small VI that illustrates how to use the VISA functions to send a command to your instrument and receive data back. I was able to locate a driver set for the MS2601 in our Instrument Driver Network. You may also want to consider trying these. They may work for your instrument.
If you are still experiencing problems, inspect your pins and cables. It is possible that one or more of your data pins may be damaged. Also, try communicating with a different instrument using the same card. Likewise, try communicating with the same instrument using a different card, if possible. All of these steps will help isolate the problem.

You can force quit applications

if that does not work you can force quit a computer shut down by hold the power button for an extended period.

Is this the file that does not have the desired priveleges? I think that's correct. If so, then open Terminal in the Utilitie folder. At the prompt enter:
sudo chown -Rf root:admin [dragged file goes here]
Leave a space after "root:admin" and drag the file you need to change into the Terminal window. Press RETURN. You will be asked to enter your admin password. It will not be echoed to the screen so type carefully. Press RETURN again.
This will change the priveleges of the file to the default for the Applications folder.

Hi, does anybody knows any tutorial that would explain me how to install and make available in my SAP installation the examples and database that comes with this book ABAP Objects: Introduction to Programming SAP Applications
The point is that i couldn't install the version of SAP BASIS that came with the book ( it was SAPmini BASIS 4.6D) on my Windows XP. Instead, i've installed Mini WAS 6.20 with Front-End 6.40 and i'd like to use it while studying the same book.

Not sure if this data generator is available in 6.20 or now. SAPBC_TOOLS_GENERATOR_NEW Run this program to generate the data for the FLIGHT tables.
Then you should check out the example programs which start with BCALV* and also check out transaction code DWDM.

I've installed Lion over Snow Leopard and all my non Apple software is still here - you may want to check if your software will work with Lion and I would definately recommend having a bootable backup in case anything goes wrong

Uninstalling programs or applications from my mac

I'm a new mac user... and I have a doubt. If anybody knows, please answer me as soon as you read this. Is very important. How can I uninstall programs or applications from my mac?
Somebody talks me that I had to remove the archives from my mac. But, I don't know if "really" I'm uninstalling the program.

In MacOS X you can delete most applications by simply
dragging their icon to the trash (and ofcourse empty
the trash afterwards). Very few application do have
an uninstall application or offer an uninstall
feature in the original installer.
Trashing is one way to remove files, but it can, in the case of complicated applications that write to folders outside of their own application folder, not completely remove all the files associated with the application, this can be viewed/ termed as a "dirty uninstall".
For applications check if there is an uninstall option with the installstaller program for the application (in the case of MS Office theirs is a separate utility called "Remove Office" for this sole purpose). If a deinstallation option for the application is not present "dirty deinstallation" can be avoided by using a third-party application to do the job properly (e.g. springcleaning from Allume: http://www.allume.com/mac/springcleaning/ ).

I have a Mac Book Pro purchased in 2007. I can no longer up date programs and applications such as itunes, skype and others.

Very Important, how much Free Space is on your Hard Drive first of all? Click on the Macintosh HD on the Desktop, then do a Get Info on it.
If you have 20GB or much more you're OK.
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

While you really need to have a bootable backup or two, installing SL/10.6.x does what we used to call an Archive & install, nothing should be lost.
But we really need to fix things first.

Why is my Macbook Pro using up 3.9GB of 4.0GB RAM when no programs or applications are open? What can be done to free up RAM?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

Hello wjosten - Well....based on inexperience at this point with being a Mac user, and reading quickly through the Malware Guide, I didn't really see where you can find those "hidden" areas and check for malware....
Some history..I posted on the community forum regarding a popup I was randomly getting, called "MacKeeper". Don't have a clue why it has come up, but I have not downloaded anything (that I know of). I was fortunately given great advice...to go to safari-preferences-privacy, and "remove all website data", which I did and did see this "zeobit", and I guess it's attached to MacKeeper.
Anyway, the MacKeeper popup has come up a few times in the past day or two...and only when I am on my "spam" screen...emptying the folder....
Nothing seems to be running differently on the Mac...

Is there a limit on how many programs and applications the iPhone6 can have on it? A friend of mine was looking into getting an iPhone6 and was told by Verizon that the iPhone6 had a limit of five programs that could be added to it but could add any number of applications. Am a bit confused about this.

How to read the data in spectrum analyzer (Anritsu MS2661C) and put it in Excel using Labview

Hi all, I'm new to using the labview, and I have some trouble doing my project using the labview software.
I have been trying to use the spectrum analyzer (Anritsu MS2661C) which connect to computer using the GPIB connection.
I have got the instrument driver which can write and control the instrument using Labview 2010.
and my Question is how do read the data or result from the spectrum analyzer and send it to the microsoft excel?
Do I need to use other software or programming to do this step?
If anyone know how is this done, please let me know.

Hi ery,
In order to send data that you have read in from an instrument to Excel, the most convenient way to do this would be to use our Report Generation Toolkit. The Report Generation Toolkit is a very useful tool that allows you to interface to Microsoft Office software from LabVIEW, including Word and Excel. I am not sure if you are familiar with this, but I have attached a link that explains more about the Report Generation Toolkit below.
Another way would be to use the Write To Spreadsheet File VI. While this will store your data to a spreadsheet data file, it will not allow you to programmatically perform any Excel formatting like the Report Generation Toolkit offers. I have also attached a link to some information on the Write To Spreadsheet VI below.
Also, be sure to check out the Example Finder in LabVIEW for a number of examples on how to write data to a spreadsheet file. From LabVIEW, you can go to Help»Find Examples to launch the Example Finder. From there, you can search for "spreadsheet," which should populate examples for use in different applications. I am new in Labview, I am trying to program my spectrum analyzer(MS9710B) through GPIB in a way that I can get the graph same as thing I see on CRT screen of
Spectrum anlyzer. Could you help me what is the first step to start my program?

There is an driver from Anritsu. Go to the main Instrument Driver Network for general information on what a driver is and how to use one. Be sure to start learning LabVIEW first with the basic tutorial.
