Progress bars objects not serializable message iat application runtime

I am getting errors for the beans that have to do with progress bars. It says these objects are not serializable.
When I try to implement serializable I still get that error. What do I need to do?
I have 3 progress bars in view scope.
SEVERE: ADFc: Scope object serialization failed (object not serializable), scope='viewScope[page.jsf]', objectKey='progressBarSampleBean',

Hi,
if you get this error then because you referenced a JSF component binding from a managed bean that is not in request scope. By definition, JSF components are not designed for this and instead ensure their component state is handled within a state token for high availability. The error message states you have the bean referenced in viewScope, which however you should not do. Use request scope

    Looks like, I can create a Local interface instance of a Session bean, but cannot pass pass it to the other session beans or classes. If I try to do that, I am getting Exception is "Error marshalling objects, Not Serializable: java.io.NotSerializableException: DefaultSession_RemoteProxy_6nein01; nested exception is:
    java.io.NotSerializableException: DefaultSession_RemoteProxy_6nein01".
    I tried making my SessionBean class implements Serializable like this.
    public class DefaultSessionBean implements SessionSynchronization, Serializable {...}
    No luck, however.
    According to http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/10.1.3.0.3/readme.html
    TopLink POJO's Must Implement java.io.Serializable When Returned From a Session Bean's Remote Interface (4902787)
    When creating a session bean facade for TopLink POJO objects, you must implement java.io.Serializable for each of the TopLink POJO objects returned from the SessionBean facade through a remote interface. This is typically required when using ADF Swing, a EJB Sample Client, or when your EJB Session Bean resides on a separate application server from the client.
    You can also tell you you need to implement java.io.Serializable when you get the following exception:
    com.evermind.reflect.UndeclaredExceptionTypeException:
    /oracle.oc4j.rmi.OracleRemoteException/
    at __Proxy1.[Your Class Name Here] (Unknown Source)
    The workaround is to manually edit each POJO object to implement java.io.Serializable. We plan to remove the need for this manual step in a future release.
    Is this information some where related to my issue? Please help me. I am stucked since so many days because of this.

  • Bug in Java objects not serializable

    I plan to use the latest version TopLink 10.1.3.1.0 with Oracle Database 10g (10.2.x).
    Do I still have to use the “Type Conversion” mapping as I had to do in order to address the reported non-serializable bug exiting in TopLink (9.0.4.5). See the link for the bug description:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/1012_solaris/relnotes.1012/relnotes/toplink.htm#CEGEBDEG
    My Java object instance variable is defined as java.sql.Timestamp and the corresponding data type on the Oracle DB is defined as TIMESTAMP(6). Can I use the direct-to-field mapping from now on with new TopLink 10.1.3.1.0 without the serializable issue? If I still have to use the Type Conversion mapping, please help provide some detail about the mapping.
    Many thanks for any help.

    From what I can understand from your reply, I can use the direct-to-field mapping for Java class attribute of java.sql.Timestamp to the Oracle DB 10.2.x data type of TIMESTAMP(6) without any issue of not serializable. Please confirm. Many thanks!
    By the way, I am having the same issue (Java objects not serializable) with Oracle DB 10.1.x when I use the direct-to-field mapping. It seems to me that this is more than the Oracle 9i JDBC driver.
    If I have to do this with TopLink 10.1.3.1.0 + Oracle 10.2.x, I plan to use the Type Conversion with:
    Java class attribute: java.sql.Timestamp
    DB data type: oracle.sql.TIMESTAMP
    Is this the proper way to do it? Please confirm.

  • HT1766 I've just purchased an Iphone 5c. I have chosen the restore from iCloud and the phone has now restarted to complete the restore. It has been 3 hours and the progress bar has not moved.

    I have chosen the restore from iCloud and the phone has now restarted to complete the restore. It has been 3 hours and the progress bar has not moved. I have now tried to reload again by holding the sleep etc, to no avail

    If all you want is your old photos, you could backup your new phone using iTunes, then restore it from your iCloud backup, import the old photos to your computer, then restore it from the backup your made in iTunes returning your newer data to your phone.  If you want your old photos on your phone, sync them there from your computer using iTunes.  The process would look like this:
    Connect your phone to your computer, when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar right-click on it and select Transfer Purchases; right-click again and select Backup.
    Disconnect from your computer and go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings to return it to new
    Go through the activation setup, choosing to Restore from iCloud backup.  Make sure your phone is plugged into a charger and has access to wi-fi as this can take hours to complete.
    When complete, without connecting your phone to your computer, open iTunes and go to Preferences.  On the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically"
    Now import the old photos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083)
    When done, open iTunes, right-click on the name of your phone on the left sidebar and select Restore from Backup, choose the backup you made in step 1.
    Go to the Photos tab and select the photos you want to sync to your phone and sync.

  • Itunes progress bar is not moving and music won't play. I also have no audio from my laptop at all. Any ideas? I am running windows 8.

    Have had no previous problems with iTunes but for past two weeks my I tunes progress bar is not moving and music won't play.
    I also have no audio from my laptop at all. Any ideas? I am running windows 8.

    I'm having the same incredibly frustrating problem. I have 50-60 GBs of music and now literally ALL OF A SUDDEN most of my mp3s won't play in iTunes. Of the songs that do play, many of them sound garbled (almost as if you were listening to them underwater). As others have noted, the songs do in fact play properly in other media players (VLC, MPC, WMP, etc).
    I feel like I've tried just about everything but I can't seem to fix the problem. Nor have I been able to find any viable solutions after hours of scouring the internet. Here is a list of the steps I've taken so far, in chronological order:
    1. Closed/re-opened iTunes
    2. Re-booted computer
    3. Uninstalled/re-installed iTunes
    4. Tried deleting songs from iTunes library and then re-adding them, but after dropping files into the library they don't show up at all, iTunes refuses to import them
    5. Downgraded from iTunes 8 to iTunes 7
    None of these things have helped at all and I am amazed that even after completely uninstalling iTunes 8 and then installing version 7 I'm still experiencing the same problem. And, on top of things, I've found that iTunes 7 is not recognizing the ID3 tags for many of the songs it does import.
    My apologies for the length of this post. I just want to be specific and provide as much info as I can so that maybe we can find a solution to this thing.
    So, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Progress bar do not show progress

    Hi there,
    I have created one dialog with button and progress bar. When I click on button, I have functionality which is getting called through which I make some changes in  currently open Indesign document like drawing some graphic frames, placing images on them. I want to update progress bar present on dialog when frames are getting drawn. But the dialog box freezes when the document changes taking place. How to update progress bar?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello vDeepak,
    it is not possible to have a progress bar working with dialogs. You can use palettes and windows but not dialogs. If you like to better understand how progress bars work, this is a very good resource:

    I have a Mac Pro tower am running OSX and iTunes will not work. It has always worked flawlessly. I can see all my iTunes content- my playlists, my songs et cetera, But I cannot play anything. The progress bar is  'stuck'...any suggestions?

    Thanks. I have been using iTunes since its inception and have never had a problem...I'm using the latest version. The progress bar is the bar that moves when you're playing a song..it just won't start when I double click on a song,..have tried quitting, rebooting etc but nothing works. Apple are useless-they have told me twice they've tried to call me 'momentarily', but I've been waiting by the phone, and they definitely have not tried to call...

  • Adobe pdf printer save dialog box opens in the background - progress bar shows Not Responding

    I have two users who have Acrobat X Pro version 10.1.4 that are experiencing the same things.  First, one person just changed laptops and the new one has a fresh Windows 7 Enterprise X64 image and new installation of Adobe Acrobat X Pro.  When he used the pdf printer for the first time(after opening the program and accepting the license agreement) he was in MS Excel '07 and chose file>print>Adobe PDF and then the progress bar came up and then showed not responding.  After he did this a couple of times with me standing there I noticed that the save dialog box was opening in the background because I could see the icon blinking on the taskbar.  He said that his old computer never did this and that it would always open up and ask where to save the file and never show 'not responding' on the progress bar.  The other person having the same issue is running the same version but she has had the program installed on her machine for a few months and an older version on before that.
    Is there a way to make the dialog box show as soon as you print to the Adobe PDF printer?  What is causing this?  Is there another way to create a pdf from MS Office like the add-on?

    Do everything in a seperate thread. Create a progress bar in the main thread, then create a new thread for initializing your app. Once the init is done, hide the progress bar and make your app visible.

  • Send/Receive progress bar is not shown in Outlook 2010

    Hi friends,
    when ever i press send and receive option or F9, am not getting the send and receive progress bar in the bottom of the corner side. kindly help me

    Hi,
    If you click the "Update Folder" button, will the Send/receive status bar appear?
    Please browse to: %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook, rename the .srs file to ".old", then start Outlook again to check if the problem persists. The .srs file stores the send/receive
    settings and a new copy of it resets the send/receive settings, check if then the problem is gone.

  • Coherence objects not released when undeploying application?

    Hi
    Part of our continuous integration build is deploying our application to a Weblogic server and running some selenium test cases against it. We have usually about 15 builds running each day.
    Our problem is that we seem to be experiencing a memory leak in that process; each new build takes more and more memory until weblogic starts throwing out-of-memory errors (as a workaround we'r restarting weblogic every night).
    After spending some time using a profiler (we'r using YourKit Java Profiler) it appears that the calls to Coherence libraries cause references to our objects not being properly released and GC is not able to get rid of them properly. If the calls to the Coherence libraries are removed teh GC correctly releases all our application objects.
    To confirm this I have created this simle test scenario:
    1. Created an empty web application (war) that has only one class in it:
    package com.test;
    import javax.servlet.ServletContextEvent;
    import javax.servlet.ServletContextListener;
    import com.tangosol.net.CacheFactory;
    public class TestServletContextListener implements ServletContextListener {
         public void contextDestroyed(ServletContextEvent arg0) {
              CacheFactory.shutdown();
         public void contextInitialized(ServletContextEvent arg0) {}
    2. Modified the web.xml to register the ContextListener:
    <listener>
    <listener-class>com.test.TestServletContextListener</listener-class>
    </listener>
    3. Created empty EAR that has only two libraries in it: coherence.jar & tangosol.jar (version 3.3.1)
    5. included the test web application in the EAR (no other classes, projects or libraries are included; no other configuration settings are adjusted from defaults)
    6. While using the profiler I was performing deployemnt and undeployment of teh EAR against the Weblogic server. With each new deployment a new set of com.tangosol* classes is created. Those classes are not released even when GC is forced from the profiler.
    I'm not able to attach a screenshot from the profiler to this post, but with each redeployment I can see the following objects created (ordered with number of objects created in a descending order):
    com.tangosol.util.Base$ComonMonitor: 1024 new objects
    com.tangosol.run.xml.XmlToken: 16 new Objects
    com.tangosol.util.ListMap: 11 new Objects
    com.tangosol.util.RecyclingLingedList$Node: 5 new Objects
    etc.
    Am I doing something wrong or is there really a problem with the object references not properly released in Coherence?
    thank you
    s.

    Hello Robert
    I have double checked that the two coherence libs don’t exist anywhere on the server class path. I have also tried calling shutdown from preStop instead of postStop but it made no difference.
    (Please note that I'm not really looking for the right place to shutdown Coherence; instead I'm trying to demonstrate that calls to Coherence libraries causes object references not to be released properly. I have chosen to use the shutdown method only because it's nicely visible when it's being invoked and also it is something that our application is calling during shutdowns).
    To make sure that I'm not overlooking something with the Weblogic setup I have tried it with Tomcat:
    1. Downloaded and installed Tomcat 6.0.14
    2. Create new WAR project and put coherence.jar & tangosol.jar in WEB-INF/lib
    3. Created one class:
    package com.test;
    import javax.servlet.ServletContextEvent;
    import javax.servlet.ServletContextListener;
    import com.tangosol.net.CacheFactory;
    public class TestServletContextListener implements ServletContextListener {
         public void contextDestroyed(ServletContextEvent arg0) {
              CacheFactory.shutdown();
         public void contextInitialized(ServletContextEvent arg0) {}
    4. modified web.xml:
    <listener>
         <listener-class>com.test.TestServletContextListener</listener-class>
    </listener>
    5. deployed the WAR to the tomcat server with profiler connected to it
    After that I have used Tomcat Web Application Manager (http://localhost:8088/manager/html/list) to Stop & Start the application repeatedly.
    The behavior is the same as on weblogic. Each stop of the application creates another set of tangosol objects that do not get released by GC.
    Am I correct when I say that there is some problem with the Coherence libraries causing memory leaks by not allowing GC to release old objects?
    Thank you
    s.

  • Trying to crop layer, getting "Can't complete because smart object not editable" message

    Using PSE v9 on a Mac
    I have a layer with an image that I want to crop around an element on the image. I've selected the area and inversed, then hit delete (why isn't there just a 'Crop' command?) and am getting a message that says:
    "Could not complete your request because the smart object is not directly editable."
    I'm not clear what a smart object is and whey they're not editable, and how I can make this editable, and how does that change the image.
    Thanks
    doug

    You don't won't to crop the whole photo, just delete the area from the layer
    that you've selected?
    Two ways:
    1. Go to Layer>Simplify Layer before using delete.
    2. If you want to keep the smart object, select the area you want to keep, not
       delete, then hit the Add Layer Mask button at the bottom of the layers panel.
    A smart object is usefull for resizing an image layer over and over without losing
    quality (the image doesn't pixelate like it does on a non smart object)
    If your not planning on doing lots of resizing or transforming on the layer, then removing
    the smart object by Layer>Simplify Layer won't make much difference.
