I am doing a Online Shopee project.I want to make a project in Jsp.So Please give me a step by step guidline how can i make a project.

That depends on what tool you're goin to use to develop your project. If you use IBM Websphere/RAD, lot of things are easy when developing. If you use Tomcat, you would need to lot of steps manually. First decide the tool then think about writing code.

IDE subfolder issue with large projects - flat JSP file lists

Currently some IDE ui components such as ApplicationOutline and Property Binding Dialog box do not show subfolder structure hierarchically. Thus for a 100-page projects ApplicationOutline is almost impossible to use.
Please consider adding a level of hierarchy where top nodes are subfolders (packages). Right now all the pages are listed in a flat level regardless of a subfolder they belong to. The same problem is with Property binding dialog (if there are other places please make sure you fix them along)

Interesting single sigon application project using jsp and servlet....Help.

A customer login's to my website using Enterprise login. I am supposed to have a link on my website to this other website(that also uses our Enterprise login details but hosted by other vendor/company on their server), and when I click this link the customes should automatically get logged in to this other website and get a welcome page(instead of login page).
Below are the sequence of steps that the other website wants me to perform to get to his welcome page(i.e bypass his login page).
FYI, I am planning to build a jsp page with a link to this other website. Can some body tell me how should I build the application(i.e) how jsp and servlets be build to interact to perform these operations. Any hep is greatly appreciated.
1.When a user clicks on to other website link(available on my website), the browser generates an HTTP GET request to the Other website's session servlet. User's name is one of the parameters of this request.
2.Other website receives the HTTP request and generates a unique session identifier for this user. An HTTP response to the end-user is then sent. The user's name and the session identifier are passed back as parameters in the redirect URL.
3.The browser sends the HTTP request (GET) to the Verification Service that was specified in the redirect message. The parameters (user name and/or session id) will be passed as URL parameters.
4.The Verification Service(of other website) authenticates the user. A redirect URL to it's sigon servlet(with parameter's User id and key) is then sent back to the user's browser.
5.The end-user's browser will perform the redirect (performing an HTTP get operation to Other website's signon servlet with the username and the digest key).
6.The other website will check if the parameter's passed is the same as the one passed earlier, if the user is who he says he is then he is redirected to the main page of the application.
7.The browser will then redirect the user to Other website's main page (welcome.jsp).
There seems's to be many calls to this other website that needs to be performed behind the scenes once a user clicks the link on my website.
Please suggest and help me out.........

Why are you trying to build a whole federated single sign on framework from scratch when you can just use/buy an existing and proven solution instead? There are a lot of security implication and trust issues involved for this so unless you already understand all of those I'd advise you not to re-invent the wheel. There are a lot of products available that do this. Try searching for '<vendor name> Access Manager' or OpenSSO.

How to restrict decimal values in Project Management JSP pages

Hi,
By default, the values of effort % complete, % complete, Earned Value etc show 8 digits after decimal in Progress Update Overview page.
We want to round off these values to two digits.
How can this be achieved? Please suggest.

Action Type : firePartialAction
Event : validateInteger
Create a controller and add the following in Process From Request :
if ("*validateInteger*".equals(pageContext.getParameter(EVENT_PARAM))) // identifier should be same as what you have set .
get the value here and check if the decimal exist and throw exception message .

Need help in using SQL in a jsp file to compare date and time

Actually I am doing a project using JSP. I need to compare a date field in the database (MS Acess) to the current system date and time. I have to do this in a select statement.
I have alredy defined a variable of type Date in the JSP file and I am comparing this variable to the date in the database through a select statemant.
Here is what I am doing
SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss");
java.util.Date today = new java.util.Date();
String myDate=sdf.format(today);
query = "SELECT Car_ID, Model_ID, Year, Ext_Color, Price from Cars where EDate <= "+myDate+" ;";
EDate is the feild in the database and it's format is (5/12/2008 5:29:47 PM) it is of type Date/Time in MS Acess.
when I execute the query it gives the following error
SQL error:java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'EDate <= 2008-10-16 08:10:07'.
I hope any one can help me with that error and answer my question, I've tried too many things but nothing helps

Hi,
When the comparision is needed to be done with the current date , we don't need to send in Java
Date then format it and compare with MS Acess Date.
In MS Access we have Date() function which will give you the current date.
So you can try rewriting your query as following :
query = "SELECT Car_ID, Model_ID, Year, Ext_Color, Price from Cars where EDate <= Date() ;"; ---------------------

I am getting this error message as well. I have just downloaded Lightroom recently. I try to click on Lightroom / preferences....and nothing happens. I tried to uninstall and it is greyed out so I can't do that either. Suggestions? Please help?

How to print report from JSP Page

Hi Everybody,
I am developing a simple project in JSP with MS Access. I hav some tables and reports for them. I hav a JSP page which gets inputs from user and save it in the table. Its working fine. But my problems are,
1) I hav a button called "SAVE & PRINT" in that bottom of the page, if i click that button, the currently entered data has to save in the table and the same data has to print from the MS Access report. I dont know how to print this report from JSP page.
2) Another button called "REPRINT". If i click that button, it has to ask a number to print the report page, that number is nothing but a field in that report.
Could anyone help me to solve this problem.

Help needed for new project

Dear members
I am looking for a developer who can help me (rebuild) and
administrative back-end based on an existing MS SQL database in
either PHP or ASP classic.
I am pretty much a novice, more a designer than a programmer
but know my way around DW and some ASP code, I am new to PHP. I do
have experience with building databases, not much however with
building databases for e-commerce purposes.
I purchased WebAssist E-Commerce Suite if someone knows what
it is and work with DW MX 2004 on a Windows XP Professional SP2 m
achine.
I am not asking for free help but help me get the job done.
There is a time frame and the money I can spent on help is not

I can build myself the insert, update and delete pages on
various tables.

An error in jsp page useBean when i try to include the java bean package?

I am using import com.project.ShowData in java beans inorder to connect to the jsp.
The jsp code goes like this:-

Here the error is showing as cannot resolve symbols in com.project.ShowData.But i have given the same in java beans like this:-

It seems that all are correct here.I have done few programs using this without any problem.But suddenly it is giving a problem like this.What is the problem here?It is quite Urgent.Thank u.

<input type="submit" value="OK" name="submit">When i select song_no_1 and click on vote button on vote_page.jsp it directs to vote result page and displays that
1 person has voted for this song and this vote is not updating on table. When i go again to vote page and vote on song_no_2 it says that "2 person have voted this song" even if it is not voted before.
I dont no where the problem occurs pls help me for this.

How To Save JSP Page As Excel File.

I am working on a project which has oracle as backend. I have some reports in my project.(.jsp files)I want to save it in MsExcel format.
How could i do it?
Also is it possible to save jsp files (the output genrated by jsp) in MS Word,PDF format?

If you set the content type and are using IE then the HTML will be rendered in Excel in place. Other browsers open Excel, but not in place.

i am doing a project in JSP.in that the user can upload files in to the server, for doing the upload thing i have downloaded "JSPSMART UPLOAD" bean . but i dont know how to use it in j2ee 1.2.1, can any one tell me how to configure it in j2ee 1.2.1. please can any one help me.

Given below are the guideline to use jspsmartupload
1) Copy the jspsmartupload folder(extracted) under the folder webapps of ur servlet container
2) Edit the server.xml under the <conf> folder to add the context path for jspsmartupload by adding the following
<Context path=�/jspsmartupload� docBase=�webapps/jspsmartupload� defaultSessionTimeOut=�30� isWARExpanded=�true� isWARValidated=�false�
isInvokerEnabled=�true� isWorkDirPersistent=�false� />
3) Add in the classpath
<.....>/webapps/jspsmartupload/WEB-INF/classes
And to use it in ur jsp code u have examples provided along with the download u have made. chk with them. Hope this helps.
