Project Manufacturing using PS

Dear Sir,
We are in the business of manufacturing Industrial Machine as per customer requirement and 70% engineering is done fresh for  every customer order .
We are using Project System for manufacturing and have followed the following appraoch :
a) On Receipt of Customer Order , we first create a Project .  Parallely Engineering activity , BOM preparation , Roting preparation is started . We are not creating WBS BOM .
b) For Advance procurement , relevant items are attached under an activity in a WBS
c) FERT item requirement is attached  in the Project  under an activity in the WBS.  We are not using BOM transfer apparoch.
d) MRP run is made against the project (MD51) and Planned Order , Purchase Requisitions gets generated .
e) As BOM/Routing  preparation is still in progress , SO MRP run is made multiple times .  For a Project on average we make MRP run approx 5 times .  At this stage BOM/Routing reaches to 100%.
We seek the guidence from the experts gurus  that whether the apparoch being followed by us is a correct one . Incase the above approach is not the correct one ,  we request expert gurus to kindly guide us about the best apparoch to be followed .
We will be highly greatful for the kind help pl .

Hi ,
You may want to consider adding Pre-sales process. One of the order winning criteria in MTO environment is  Quotation meeting customer requirement.
SAP has easycost planning objects available to cater to it. Process starts with inquiry.
1) Create inquiry for customer request. Define service material in material field in VA11
2) Create Project copying closest executed in part ( you have said 70% is engineered fresh, then project is 30 % correct at the time of copying)
3) Amend project to add/chnage/delete components & network activities. Add miilestone payment you wish to propose in quotation.
5) Add project no in inquiry (Accoutn assignment in Line item )
4) Use DP81 traxn to create quotation.Easy-cost planning need to be configured to calculate price( Cost+ mark up scenario possible) There are possibilites to pull as many deatils as you wish in quotation ( As line items) from project structure. It is possible to list major assemblies that will be delivered to customer( Make- To - Order variations). It is also possible to replace Service item used in inquiry with 'Material masters' of FERT & itemization in Quotation. Milestone dates from project will be copied you can propose % billing arrangement at each date to customer.
5) Able to revise quotation seamlessly & resond to customer changes/addtioal request. Revised quotation reflects your ability understand customer request & changes are seamlessly reflected in qty,  total price & dates.
6) Upon confirmation of Sale, Sales order can be created copying quotation. All hard work/ iteration of commnucation with customer , need not be defined in system again. Order Acknowledgement will reflect agreements with customer.
One of the key challange in MTO environemnt is integrity of what is delivered as against what was promised & if you are using SAP , it can be achieved , if you capture 'Pre-sales' process in SAP.
Easier said then done, though. We did a Crew-boat building project recently & SD, FI, CO consultant are opposed to ideas of putting inquiry/quote process in SAP.

  • Project Manufacturing just to stock material based on Projects

    Hello Dina / Experts,
I am in situation where customer is in Real estate business using construction of properties and giving it on rentals or sell.
Customer has a unique requirment to stock the material related to constructions based on the projects. I guess only project manufacturing can fulfill this requirment Am I correct? But does it advisable to iimplement project manufacturing only for this requirment? Is there any other cost effective approch to fulfill this requirement?
Does there any white paper available on Oracle Project Manufacturing Functionality and setups avaialbe with you or NET?
    Please help.
    Thanks

    Hi
when Customer wants to stock material and correspond to project, ideal scenario is to use Project manufacturing and perform PJM setups
refer for setups Oracle Project Manufacturing setups
with regards to construction project manufacturing setups are minimal, it is pretty clean with cost effective and control if you use Project manufacturing and Project costing
    Thanks

  • Project Manufacturing

    Hi,
Anybody out there using Project Manufacturing ?? ..... been asking at Projects user group SIGs but doesn't seem to be widely used ....... apparantly it is part of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) solution and not Oracle Projects .....
    rgds, ....... eric.b

project manufacturing allows you to capture manufacturing costs against a project. you capture your costs (like WIP) and map them to expenditure types. then a program (cost collector) will interface and distribute the costs to the project. notice the WIP job screen has a project and task information this has been around since R11. Initially it only supported average costing but since 11i it supports both average and standard cost

DVI interface does't allow audio. Is there optical IN from your Panasonic TV? By then you can connect your ATV to Panasonic using optical together. It will work.

  • Can "Common Project" be used for collecting AP Invoices?

    Hello Gurus,
I have a question regarding Project Manufacturing and Project Costing.
In the PJM Organization Parameters setup, you can define a Common Project
to collect cost in PA module as expenditures for non-project related transactions.
Does this functionality work for importing non-project related AP Supplier Invoices as expenditures?
Or does this "Common Project" functionality only work for costs that are collected via Cost Collection Manager batch?
    We are on R12.1.3 environment.
    Regards,
    Satoko

    Hi Satoko,
Importing non-project related AP Supplier Invoices as expenditures?
Answer: Please be informed, supplier invoices or expense report created in AP if assocaited to a project, will be eligible to be interfaced to PA as new expenditure items.
If any supplier invoices or expense reports are created in AP and is not associated to a projects, it is not eligible to be interfaced to PA and  it is termed as non project invocies, hence the same will be not shown as cost against the project in PA.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Can I import HTMLs from inside the project and use as portlet page ?

As you know, I am using Java Studio Creator 2 Update 1 for my current portal project. I have created JSR-168 JSF Portlet Project for my portlet development.
As I have some html pages ready for my development,
Can I import HTMLs from inside the project and use as portlet page for my project?
    I did the followings steps:
1: In side the project - File -> Add Existing Item -> Web Page ( imported test.html page from my local folder)
2: Let it convert some of the tags for me ( so now it becomes - test.jsp )
3: Set it to initial view.
    4. A default portlet page newPortletPage.jsp is still there with no initial view.
Now after doing this, No Visual Designer and Properties window available to for that test.jsp page. Though it allowed me to build the project successfully.
When I build and run the portlet application, got the error message Error occurred in portlet! on Pluto Portal. Please advice.

You do not open fcpproject files. You don't double click or anything else. The files have to be in the correct folder structure in the Final Cut Projects folder and the application opens them automatically. Can you post screen shots of the Final Cut Projects folder and its location.

  • Can I take a frame from my project and use it as a custom menu background with CS4 and its Encore

My project is edited in CS4.
I moved it to Encore CS4.
I don't want to use any of the supplied menu templates in CS4 Encore.
I was hoping CS4 would be all I needed to create custom menus using scenes from my project.
My question is: Can I take a frame from my project and use it as a custom menu background with CS4 and its built in Encore or do I need some other element from the Adobe catalog to make these custom chapter menus and sub-menus?
    Thanks Jim

OK, I'm back. Here are my steps for creating Custom Menus with PS, En and PrPro:
In PrPro, move the CTI (Current Time Indicator) to the desired Frame. Check Frames on either side, with the Program Monitor’s Magnification to 100%, or maybe even 200% (you’ll need to scroll, but get a really clear picture). You want the clearest Frame in that area. With AME, in CS4, you’ll want to Export that Frame as .TIFF, or .BMP. I use .TIFF for this.
Now, for a caveat. When you Import this Exported Frame into Photoshop, be sure to check the specs., especially the PAR. You may have to use Image>PAR to adjust this to match your Project’s specs. Or, all might be perfect - just check this out.
Now, at this point, I choose the Library Menu, Blank, so that everything is setup. One can create the Menu from scratch, but careful attention needs to be paid to the exact naming conventions. At the very least, unless you’ve done this dozens of times before, use that Blank Menu, or similar as a guide, so you get things done, as they must be done.
Using that Blank Menu, just drag the Layer from your Exported Frame to your Menu image. It will appear above the black Background.
Add, or manipulate your Button Layer Sets, as is required, keeping them together. Remember that Button #1 will be the Button Layer Set, that is lower down in the Layers Palette. This can play a roll with Button Routing, back in Encore. Lower Button Layer Sets will have lower Button numbers.
Now, I always rename my Button Layer Sets, keeping the required characters - just changing the name. I also do all of my Button text in PS, and make sure to turn OFF Sync Button Names.
When done, Save_As .PSD, and then Import_As_Menu into Encore. Note: if you start with the Blank Menu, you can choose Edit in Photoshop, and then when done in PS, you just need to Save, and it will update in Encore. This is a personal workflow choice. I do the Edit in Photoshop route, but it is not necessary. One just needs to Import the resulting .PSD into Encore with Import_As_Menu, so that Encore does all the things that it needs to and recognizes the .PSD as a Menu.
When deciding what to base your Menu on, remember that you can "populate" your Menu with Buttons from the Functional Content. I’d suggest studying these Assets, and picking the ones that work best for you. You can still alter/edit those back in PS, so you just need to "get close."
Pay special attention to the required naming conventions. You cannot deviate from those first characters in the Button Layer Sets. They MUST be followed.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • How do I open projects created using Premier Elements 8 with Premier Elements 13

how do I open projects created using Premier Elements 8 with Premier Elements 13

    ATR
The DVD Creator.dll file was in the proper location but I could not find a Run As Administrator Option.
I did delete Prefs file and try again to open the app then the project and received the same problem.  And the scratch disks were all directed to the Elements 13 path
Yesterday I did try additional solutions
Removed the Elements 13 App vis the Control Panel, copy the original downloaded .zip File to the Desktop and reload the entire application with no success solving the problem
In addition to that I contacted a site called Rescue.com? and the guy told me that he was a representative of Adobe, which I was not sure was the truth.  He looked at my system and told me that Premier 13 was not compatible with Windows 7.  I called BS on him told him that Adobe site said it was compatible and he told me I had a Trojan on my system and he would refund my money for Elements 13 and sell me version 12, which would be compatible, along with a better security system than the Norton 360 I told him I had.  At that point I immediately terminated our communications and called Norton to have additional checks performed to ensure no additions were added to my system.  They had me download and run Power Eraser from them and it found nothing wrong.
I also temporarily turned off the firewall and tried to use the Elements 13 but had no success.
I also went to Microsoft Windows site and searched for the Exception code: 0xc0000005 that was displayed in the event viewer and they indicated there was a hotfix available and they would email me that fix.  ave not received the email yet.
I’m getting very frustrated but thank you for your help.  I will update you with and additional results or actions I get or perform.

  • How to deal with a large project (perhaps using the Daisy Trail Approach)?

    Hi,
My intital problem was that I needed the screen to pause so that the user could interact with the spry menus and image maps. In other threads, I noticed that you added click boxes to prevent the screen from moving on. However, whenever I clicked on the spry menus or image maps, the screen moved on without giving me the chance to interact more on the screen. Furthermore, the screen faded away to white. I decided to use the timeline and make each slide last for at least 60 seconds. However, whenever I tried to do this for the entire project, it crashed, repetitively, The project has become too big - it is 164 slides.
I read in another thread that you can break the project up using the 'Daisy Trail' Apprach. When one chunk of the project finishes, you can execute another swf file to open and so on until they all open in sequence. I am wondering, how does this approach work exactly and will I still be able to use spry menus, i.e. will I still be able to insert links to the other parts of the project? Or does this approach mean that I must create a web page in order to add the links of these separate swf files and will this also make my spry menus and design defunct?
Any help on this would be greatly appreicated.
    Many thanks.

    Hi,
If I can prevent the screen from fading away whenever it pauses, I think that would be a good start (as you suggested). I tried this before, having read other threads but am having the same problem - it still fades away. I have done the following:
In Preferences, Defaults, I have commanded the objects to display for rest of slide, and for the effect to have no transition.
In Prefererences, Start and End, I have deselected the fade on first and end slides.
When I right-clicked on the actual slide, and tried to select Transition, No Transition, nothing happened. It wasn't even possible to select this option or the others from this menu. No tick was shown to show that it was selected.
Is there anyting else I can do or something I'm doing wrong? Thanks for any help!

  • Export of Elements 12 Project for use in Premiere Pro

Hello. Simply (or not so simply), I just want to know if I can export a Premiere Elements 12 Project for use in Premiere Pro CS6 or CC. I would like some form of verification such as a page in a manual or a link to a web page. Just getting the answer "Yes" will not do. Sorry but this has been very difficult to locate and am concerned it can't happen.
    Thanks,

"Adobe's target audience is just not likely to later need to edit a Project in a professional NLE."
Thanks Bill and I understand. However, given the current choices of NLE's today and many Professional Users "scrambling" to find replacements for FCP7 and "aging" Avid, I would think that the workflow I'm suggesting might be a cost effective and viable alternative that Adobe should consider very seriously. If it was never brought to their attention before, I'm mentioning it now!
If we can avoid the cost of putting PrPro into the hands of Preditors and leave the Pro Finishing to the real Pros, that would be very helpful not only financially but it would make learning and working with the software much easier for them using Elements.
So, I guess the only way to find out if this works, is to download the trial versions of each and have at it.
Unless someone out there already has both of the most current versions and is willing to try this?
Either way, I'll have to find out sooner or later because we are moving to Pro eventually.
    Thanks again,
    Bob K.

  • Can FCP5 projects be used in FCEHD?

At school we use FCP 5.1.4. I have several projects saved using that version. I am going to buy a new mac mini and the new FCE HD software soon.
Will the saved projects that I have open in the new FCE HD? I tried to search but couldn't find anything. Thanks in advance

No, they will not. You may be able o export an XML file using version 1 and drag that into your FCE project, but you may lose some work. It's not a recommended or approval operation.

  • Compile a project that uses Spark modules (SDK 4.5) with FB4.1?

Is it possible to compile a project that uses Spark modules with Flash Builder 4.1?
I've added SDK 4.5 to FB and selected it in the project properties (no problems here).
But how about the 'Flex modules' tab in the project properties window, will it be able to add Spark modules to the application?

Yes, you will be able to use s:Module with FB 4. You'll have to do a new MXML component, then go to Flex Modules and click on the add button. (The new module wizard there won't support the spark module)
However, please note that this is unsupported in the sense that we haven't tried that out at our end. (But I personally have and it works )
