Prompt Question

Question

I want to prompt for a range of date on <Creation Date> object
FOR EXAMPLE
The requirment would be to show the Daily sales of the company where
1. promt -> ask user for the beginng date
2. prompt-> todays date should be there and then the user should be able to change it to select whatever date he wants in case if he doesnt want the todays date in the seconed prompt . Now i know that we can use the between clause for the range , but the question is how to fullfill the 2nd prompt request?

Hi,
If I understand correctly you want to have the second prompt that proposes the current date as default value but you want the user to change this proposition by another date.
I built somtimes ago a universe that shows how to deal with this kind of situtation.
Here are samples I built on the demo database "Island Resort Marketing" on SQL Server.
First, create a derived table on the table that contains the date coulumn you want to use:
select * from
(select 'Current date' as invoice_date_char, convert(datetime,convert(varchar,getdate(),111),111) as  invoice_date
union
select distinct convert(varchar,invoice_date,111), invoice_date
from Club.dbo.Sales)   a
Then, create an object (or a filter) that uses the prompt with the current date:
Dates.invoice_date_char = @Prompt('Select date','A','Dates\Invoice Date Char',mono,constrained,,{'Current date'})
