Provisioning resources in order in OIM 11g R2

Hi folks,
We want to assign resources in a particular order to users. Here is the order and steps we followed-
[1] LDAP users
[2] Custom Adapter to RDBMS
We want to assign the RDBMS resource after LDAP resource is assigned. We are provisioning these via access policy. Access policy priority which assigns LDAP resource is highest and Access policy priority to assign RDBMS is lower. We also marked LDAP User as dependent in "Depends On" tab of RDBMS resource object, and in LDAP user resource object in Status definition we have checked Launch dependent checkbox against status "Provisioned" & "Enabled".
However when access policies are evaluated, we do see that RDBMS resource is still in "waiting" status & LDAP user resource is "provisioned". The dependent resource provisioning is not being triggered. Please let me know if I am missing anything here........
THANKS,

Hi,
If this approach is not working ,other option is remove the dependency from resource object.In dependent resource object first unconditional task will be "check the status of parent resource object as provisioned",  if not then reject the task else proceed the workflow by setting the response a completed.else task timed retry scheduled task will complete the task.
Demerit extra tasks of same name for  resource will be visible.
We have observed similar issue in 9i where 2 level dependency was not working.

  • Resource Object API in OIM 11g r2

    Hi All,
    I'm new to OIM 11.1.2 and I'm working on provisioning users(trusted source) to OIM using custom code.
    In oim 9x ,tcObjectOperationsIntf is used to perform Resource object  Operations.I would like to know about Resource Object api in 11g R2
    Please help me on this.
    Regards,
    Madhu

    Resource objects in OIM11GR2 are application instances. You can refer application instance service API:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E27559_01/apirefs.1112/e28159/oracle/iam/provisioning/api/ApplicationInstanceService.html
    Also, you can refer oim service api for common operations:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E27559_01/apirefs.1112/e28159/oracle/iam/api/OIMService.html

    Check your Bundle jar.
    It should be there in ConnectorServer (bundle directory), OIMHOME_JARS table.
    Also check the Configuration Lookup for Bunde Version/Name etc.

  • OIM 11G : Selecting Multiple RO's in Single "Self Request Resource" Failing

    Hello Everyone,
    OIM 11G : End User "Self Request Resource" failing when user selects 2 or more resources in a Single Self Request Resource Request
    1) On OIM 11G, I have created 2 resource objects, workflow, process forms.
    2) Created the separate request dataset xml and imported into OIM repository
    3) Now if an end user creates a request , "Self Request Resource" and selects one of the resource
    4) Form defined as per request dataset shows up perfectly for the application on Resource Attributes page which comes next.
    5) Only Problem that I am seeing is when End User selects 2 resources in one single request
    Both the resource request dataset has been correctly configured because selecting only 1 works not both when both are selected in same request.
    Thanks,
    Deepak

    Hello Experts,
    on OIM 11G
    I am getting the above issue when an end user does a "self request resource" and selects 2 Resource Objects.
    On the Next Page, attribute form defined as per the request dataset.xml does not show up.
    Both the RO's are seen on top breadcrumbs but with a blank form. I can navigate to the next RO Resource Data Details again with a blank form.
    Though the attribute form as per request dataset comes up properly if I select any 1 of the 2 RO's and make "self request resource". everything goes fine.
    I have followed the documentation thoroughly to import the datasets etc and can see request dataset in MDS_PATHS table (DEV_MDS user).
    If anybody has also faced a similar issue or tested that selecting 2 RO's in 1 single "self request resource" works , pls let me know.
    Thanking in advance,
    Deepak

  • Disable provisioned resource via API

    Hi All,
    could anyone of you post an example of request "Disable Provisioned Resource" by using the OIM API?
    Thank you,
    Giuseppe.

    there is no API for enable/disable but you have to call Enable User and Disable User task using OIM API
    Use below API for same
    use tcProvisioningOperationsIntf API.
    public void addProcessTaskInstance(long plTaskKey,long plOrcKey)
    plTaskKey - The key of the process task defined in process definition(nothing but MIL_KEY)
    plOrcKey - The key of the process order instance
    Use belo query to get MIL_KEY/plTaskKey before executing above method
    String sqlquery="select mil.mil_key from mil,pkg,tos,obj " +
    "where mil.mil_name = "Enable User" +
    "and obj.obj_name='<RO NAME>' " +
    "and obj.obj_key = pkg.obj_key " +
    "and tos.pkg_key = pkg.pkg_key " +
    "and mil.tos_key = tos.tos_key" ;
    use below for db connection in oim 11g
    Connection con=Platform.getOperationalDS().getConnection();
    Statement st=con.prepareStatement(query);
    ResultSet rs=st.executeQuery();
    while(rs.next())
    ong milkey=rs.getLong("mil_key");
    similarly you can get the ORC_KEY and call this method for running process task using code. Make sure 'manual insert' and 'Allow Multiple' property is enabled for this task. if not do it using design console

  • Provision a Resource Object to Organization automatically in OIM 11g

    Hi All,
    How to provision a resource Object to Organizations automatically in OIM 11g.
    Can we use Access Policy for this , if not , is there any other way to solve this.
    Regards
    Edited by: 903745 on 31 May, 2012 1:40 AM

    Are you referring to creating an resource object (e.g. group) on the Organization itself (as opposed to users in that Organization) ? If so this can be done from a post-process event handler on the Organization object.

    You can re-visit access policy It will have the Process form where you can provide the access policy and save it. Access policy is already created so you can modify access policy and open the process form select IT Resource and save it.
    Another way to write pre-pop adapter for populating IT Resource on the process form. But I am sure you can provide it resource via access policy.

  • API of Resource object managment - OIM 11g R2

    Hi All,
    I want to provision a resource (say 'AD User') from a post event handler (OIM 11g R2) during user creation.
    Please tell me the API to be used.
    In OIM 10g, we can use 'tcObjectOperationsIntf' interface to operate on resource objects. what API is its replace in OIM 11g R2?
    Thanks in Advance.

    Create a role and add a rule membership to that role using your custom attribute.
    Create an access policy to provision AD resource and use the role created above while creating access policy. There will be a schedule task with the name "Evaluate user access policies". Change its schedule to run for every 1 minute.
    Now, create a user who satisfies the above role membership and make sure this user got the role membership. Immediately after a minute, this new user should be provisioned to AD resource automatically.

  • OIM 11g - Mail Notification for multiple resources

    User will be provisioned to 5 target system through access policies.So instead of sending 5 different mail notifications to the manager on the Create User task about the account creation, is it possible to send one consolidated mail about the provisioned resources in OIM 11g.

    Hi,
    How abt for the following requirement for sending single mail for multiple resources provisioned.
    We have 3 Access Policies which is defined as follows.
    1) Policy 1 -> R1,R2,R3 Resources
    2) Policy 2 -> R3,R5 Resources
    3) Policy 3 -> R1,R4 Resources
    In such a case we will not be able to put dependencies on Resources and adding a task for sending email.

  • Direct provisioning through API - OIM 11g

    Hi,
    OIM 11g here. I am trying to use the APIs to make direct provisioning. What i have done till now:
    tcUserOperationsIntf userIntf = (tcUserOperationsIntf)ioUtilityFactory.getUtility("Thor.API.Operations.tcUserOperationsIntf");
    ResourceData rd = userIntf.provisionResource(userkey, objectkey);
    now, in the ResourceData object i have two ids, obiKey and ouiKey. Now i need to extract the process instance key with those numbers. How can i do this?
    Using the userIntf getObjects method i can get the list of objects provisioned, iterate over it and retrieve the process instance key of the object which matches obiKey and ouiKey. Is there an easier method to do this?
    Another question, which one is the process instance key, ORC_KEY or ORC_TOS_INSTANCE_KEY ?
    Last, how do i trigger the task responsible for provisioning given the filled process form?
    thx in advance

    Ok, i guess the process instance key is ORC_KEY.
    Now i am trying to provision through APIs a resource object (say AD User) to an OIM user. I have used the provisionResource(userkey, objectkey) method, but the Create User task is not put in the Resource History (there is only the System Validation Task), and i don't know how to look for it's task id to add it manually.

    I've configured access policy-based provisioning for Active Directory. Every time a user is created with a particular role, a provisioning for this user is started for the Active Directory resource.
    Everything goes as expected except that two provisioning process instance are created, so the user is provisioned with two accounts.
    I use OIM 11g 11.1.1.5.0

    Hi Bikash,
    just seen the bug page on Oracle support site. It reads just:
    OIM CREATE MULTIPLE RESOURCE OBJECTS WHEN YOU REQUEST MULTIPLE ROLES
    no any detail/workarounds etc. :-( So no support on support site this time.
    More over, I assign a single role to a single user.
    The problem seems to arise due to OIM creates multiple parallel processing threads for doing things, but failed to synchronise them properly. If I stop my execution thread just after it created a new user, but before the role is assigned to it for a while, everything seems to work Ok.
    Regards,
    Vladimir
    PS: I'm still eager to hear of any solutions

  • OIM 11g - Restricting the number of resources to one on Request Creation

    Hi All,
    We have a requirement wherein when a requester tries to create a Provision Resource request type(be it for himself or for others), he shouldn't be allowed to request for more than one resource in a single request. If a user chooses more than one resource, he should be prevented from proceeding further and also a message should be shown to the user indicating that only resource should be chosen for this request.
    Can this functionality be achieved in OIM 11g?
    Any kind of help or suggestion is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Deepa

    I already have an enhancement request for this as the only plugin which Oracle provides for request creation is ValidationHandler. The validation handler is called 'number of resources' X 'number of users' and there is no static construct in the plugin either.
    Thus workarounds:
    1. Check for multiple resource selection in your SOA Approval process (this should not be at the orchestration level) and reject the request if there are more then one selection.
    2. As Kevin pointed out, in 9x xlWebAdmin.properties file can be used to set the following properties for single resource selection during requests. You can try to look for this information oim 11g properties files and test it out. -1 here means no limit.
    request.resource.users.size=-1
    request.resource.organizations.size=-1
    request.resource.resources.size=-1-Bikash

  • OIM 11g-configure SoD so that it works for direct provisioning of the roles

    Dear All,
    page 23-3 of Developer's Guide (OIM 11g) provides information regarding configuration of the SoD for Direct provisioning of the resources. How to configure SoD so that it works for direct provisioning of the roles?
    Thank you for your time
    Maria

    Rajiv,
    I did not find the documentation regarding this. But I hoped I will.
    In my project we assign roles directlly, not resources.
    I suspect the integration with Role Manager is required in this case. SoD module in OIA should be used then.

  • Issues with offline provisioning in OIM 11G

    We are facing an issue with OIM 11G where we are trying to provision few resources via offline provisioning. Ths issue is that when I do a provisioning/disable/enable on the resource the status of the resource says something like "provisioning in queue/Disable in queue/Enable in queue". This is not happenning all the time but seems to be consistent when I repeatedly disable/enable the resource. Once the status of hte resource remains "in queue" it is never changed back to the actual status which says provisioned/disabled/enabled. Can anyone provide me an insight of what is happenning here and how the offline events are processed within OIM? Is there any way to get the status of the resource back to normal? Please let me know.
    Thanks!
