Proxy auth - still getting 407 after passing username/password

Hi,
I am having trouble access url via our proxy. I have read/tried all the examples but still nothing. However java webstart can connect.
1. proxy is Microsoft
2. base64Encoder from com.orielly.server package
here is the code:
try {
URL url = new URL("http", "someproxy", 80, "someurl");
HttpURLConnection conn = (HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection();
String proxyPassword = "DOMAIN\\username:password";
String encoded = Base64Encoder.encode(proxyPassword.getBytes());
conn.setRequestProperty("Proxy-Authorization","Basic "+encoded);
conn.connect();
System.out.print( conn.getResponseCode() );
catch( Exception e ) {
System.out.print( e ) ;
when I run this I get 407 code.
any help/pointers will be appreciated
Thanks

  • I did re-set my password and when I click on Install for Mavericks, I still get a box for "administrator password" and it still won't accept my new password. Is there a difference between my Apple ID and the administrator password they're asking for?

    I downloaded Mavericks and it won't install. I did re-set my password and when I click on Install for Mavericks, I still get a box for "administrator password" and it still won't accept my new password. Is there a difference between my Apple ID and the administrator password they're asking for? I never had an administrator password-- I just hit enter and have never had a problem before with previous installations. I'm on an iMac, from 2007, running Mt. Lion (version 10.8.5). I've been looking for other's posts who may be having the same problem, but haven't found any. Can anyone help?

    Ugh. The 'no password, no work' thing is a recent Apple development. I ran into it on my system and ended up having to do a clean install on a partition I fully erased.
    I suppose, if you have the ability to, go online and look up how to burn a bootable DVD image. Download the 10.8.4 image then use the Disk Utility to make a boot image of it. You'll need a dual-layer DVD or a USB drive (or memory stick at least 8GB) If you've got an optical drive, burn the disk, if you've a USB device, use that.
    Then get a pocket drive and copy your important files off the system or let Time Machine do a full backup.
    When the backup is done, insert the disk and hold down the C key until the machine boots off of the DVD. At the point you get to the start window, go to the menu and choose the Disk Utility.
    In the Disk Utility, reformat the drive. You go to the actual DRIVE (not the Macintosh HD, but the root above it that is the actual hard drive device)
    I always do this and *partition* it into several volumes, the benefit being, you can store all of your music, documents and importans stuff on that secondary storage volume you make - it will have it's own index and then the first volume is where you put the OS and it will have it's own index as well. That way, if the OS throws a wobbler and you need to reinstall, you don't lose your data.
    Depending on the size of your hard drive, it is good to give your OS partition at least 60GB and optimally 100GB, and the rest for storage.
    Name your volumes, use the little box sliders to manually size them or put that number in the size window, select for the format, Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and hit Apply and then the Disk Utility will quickly create your new partitions.
    Once finished, quit the Utility and it will return you to the OS installer. Select the volume you want to install to and it should start up and install.
    Once the installation is done, you'll get the new machine startup then you MUST put in a password for the computer. Once you're in, and to the desktop, don't bother with any Mountain Lion updates, go right to the App Store and get the Mavericks update and let it install the app to your Applicaitons folder, then do that install.
    On a side note, there MAY be a way to make a disk image from the Mavericks application and avoid the entire Mountain Lion step.. I honestly do not know, but a bit of hitting the search engines may find out if there is. I think that if you looked for "make Mavericks boot disk or boot image' you may find something.
    Good luck!

  • Passing Username/Password from .xsql to Oracle

    Is there any other way to connect to the Oracle than hardcoding username, password, dburl and driver in the XSQLConfig.xml file?
    Can I use parameters in .xsql files?
    The idea is that every web user connects to DB like himself, so I am looking for a way to pass Username/Password from web application to the Oracle using xsql files on every connection.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to pass username/password through WebService proxy client to E-BS.

    Hi
    We are using ADF Webservice proxy client to integrate E-Business suite with ADF. It asks for username/password to access details from E-BS. In the generated webservice XSD file, a method is available with 2 parameters.
    1) SOAP header( Contains Username, responsibility and 2 more fields)
    2) Class object(Nested Object)
    However i didn't find "*Password*" field anywhere in it. Then how can I pass "*Password*" along with username to invoke this method?
    When i checked SOAP, the password is defined like this
    <wsse:Password Type="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-username-token-profile-1.0#PasswordText">XXXX</wsse:Password>a
    Thanks

    hi Dario
    Thank you for your post. It is really helpful. Now I got stuck with a doubt, in this piece of code
    final Binding binding = ((BindingProvider) servicePort).getBinding();
    List<Handler> handlerList = binding.getHandlerChain();
    if (handlerList == null)
    handlerList = new ArrayList<Handler>();
    They didn't mention properly about "*servicePort*". What object is this?
    I checked in Oracle document, even in that I was not clear with that piece of code.
    public class HandlerWS{
    @Resource WebServiceContext ctx;
    @WebMethod()
    public String getProperty(String propertyName) {
    return (String) ctx.getMessageContext().get(propertyName);
    public class Main {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    HandlerWS test;
    try {
    test = new HandlerWS(new URL(args[0] + "?WSDL"), new
    QName("http://example.org", "HandlerWS") );
    } catch (MalformedURLException murl) { throw new RuntimeException(murl); }
    HandlerWSPortType port = test.*getHandlerWSPortTypePort*();
    What is this HandlerWSPortType object???. Can you give me little more explanation about it?
    Thanks

  • Getting ORA-01017: invalid username/password error only with specific tools

    Hi,
    I am a Junior DBA still getting familiar with Oracle. I am having trouble accessing one of my databases through both TOAD and SQLDetective tools. When I try to log in to my database using these tools, I get the error:
    ORA - 01017: invalid username/password; login denied
    Even though the password and username is correct.
    I can successfully login through other tools like SQLTools and through SQL Plus. I have searched this issue and I have seen people with the same problems but I couldnt find a solution. The weird thing is, I can use TOAD and SQLDetective to login to other databases without any issues. It seems to be this one specific database.
    My database is an 11g database on a linux box. I have 9i and 10g clients installed on my machine. The all my apps use the tnsnames from the 9i home on my machine.
    Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
    Rgs,
    Rob

    Hello, if it is 11g, look at the parameter sec_case_sensitive_logon. This parameter defaults to true, which makes the password case sensitive. Some tools/apps do a UPPER or LOWER on the password and so this may the reason for the error

  • Leopard slow after entering username/password, waiting for what?

    Hello,
    Leopards Server seems to be stuck or waiting for something after entering the username and password, the letters are in gray and leopards seems to do nothing for a minute or more, then it continues to wake up.
    I am installing this machine today, It is a new and fresh installation, 7gb ram, 3tb hard disks, raid stripped.
    any idea bout why every time that after entering the correct username-password leopard waits for a minute to continue booting?
    thanks a lot

    Thanks,
    when I set the DHCP in the basic configuration of Leopard Server, Leopard inserted a 127.0.0.1 before the address I entered. Now I moved the 127.0.0.1 after the other address and it works now.
    thanks a lot

  • Passing username & password in HTTP Header

    Hi all,
    My 1st query.
    I want to access a url which asks for username & password.
    how can i put my username & password in the http header so that when i call that url it shouldn't ask for the username & password.can anyone plz show it as a piece of servlet code.
    Thanks,
    Neha

    I am uing the HttpUrlConnection and the way I set is using the "setRequestProperty()" method. The follwoing code snippet actually encodes the user + passwd and sets it in the HTTP header.
    if(this.user != null) {
    BASE64Encoder encoder = new BASE64Encoder();
    StringBuffer buf = new StringBuffer(user).append(":").append(this.passwd);
    String encoded = encoder.encode(buf.toString().getBytes());
    httpCon.setRequestProperty("Authorization", "Basic " + encoded);

  • IPhone deploy gets Login Error (Invalid username/password).  Android works

    Hi, we're developing an ADF Mobile app on JDeveloper 11.1.2.3 which does initial authentication against Weblogic.
    The login & app works fine on Android, but fails when we deploy the same app to iPhone (iOS 5.0.1, but also 5.1, 6.0 & 6.1 in the Simulator).
    Specific message is :
    Login Error
    Invalid username/password. If the problem persists, please contact your system administrator.
    It's definitely on the network and reaching the login server, because when we shut down the server or make the network unavailable, the message reports "The login server is not reachable"
    All I can think is it's possibly encrypting the password differently within iOS.
    Not having much luck on Google or other searches, so any thoughts are appreciated.
    Thanks
    Peter

    I found a bit more information in the Weblogic Managed Server logs proving the login request reaches the server, but gives this error. Not much luck on google so, if this rings any bells for anyone thoughts are appreciated.

  • Still getting KP after replacing gfx card & having Genius Bar tests...

    I've been getting kernel panics when waking the computer from sleep since 10.5.5 and rampantly since 10.5.6. Soon after my nVidia 6800 started displaying artifacts and would not boot unless under safe mode (in Leopard) or by removing the GeForce extensions all together (in Tiger).
    I took it into an Apple store and the Genius desk pop in a new card and it booted fine so obviously that's the problem. Before I made a decision on replacing the card I wanted them to their thorough hardware check to make sure it was only the card and it came back clean.
    Since Apple wanted $440 for a refurbished 6800 (that couldn't be found for a couple weeks) I got one off eBay for $300. Pop it in, looks good, reinstall Leopard, upgrade to 10.5.6 and start restoring my backups.
    Everything was going fine until I put the computer to sleep last night and the next morning, once again, it fails to wake from sleep. Computer "breaths" to life, but the display is dark. Hard shutdown and I get my familiar kernel panics (this is copied from an old post of mine):

    After sending an obviously frustrated report to Apple I don't know where to go from here. I was dealing with a woman at Apple's customer satisfaction center. When she gets back to me to check in I'm going to relay this news to her. My initial feelings were this was a bug between Leopard and G5 hardware as others were experiencing it.

  • How to pass username/password to BPEL web service from java proxy?

    Hi all,
    Environment : SOA Suite 11g
    I am using basic http authentication in my SOA services using "oracle/wss_http_token_client_policy" policy. Now i need to invoke these SOA web services from a java proxy.

  • Can I pass username & password in JDBC URL in Crystal Reports 2008?

    Hi,
    I tried to put this URL in the CRConfig.xml file : jdbc:postgresql://hostname:5432/db_name?user=user_name&password=pw
    Without the user and password parameters, it works fine but I always have to enter the database information when I create a new report or refresh an existing report.
    With the parameters, when I create a new report, if I click on "Create new connection", Crystal Reports freezes. If I click on the connection in "My connections", then I get an "Invalid argument" error message.
    How can I configure the database information so that I don't always need to enter it manually?
    Thanks,
    Marianne

    Hi Marianne,
    We don't recommended you do that. The text is in the clear so anyone could use your log on info. You may be able to add your user name to the Report by editing the connection properties from the Set Location dialog box but to add your password would give anyone who opened your report your log on info.
    And the info would be passed to the DB over the network in the clear so someone could hack your info.
    Thank you
    Don
