Proxy Controller / IPS branch issue

I'm attempting to install my first remote proxy. I've configured a zone on a Solaris 11 host dedicated for this purpose. The host / zone have no issues reaching the IPS repository. OCDoctor.sh --proxy-prereq confirms all checks are OK.
When I try to use the EC to deploy the proxy it fails (with no explanation), so I'm attempting to install it manually if only to see what is going wrong. Here's what's happening.

Looking at my OPS repo, I have a few branches
- 0.5.11,5.11-0.175.0.11.0.4.1

- 0.5.11,5.11-0.175.0.9.0.5.0
I admit though that I don't yet fully understand what these branches represent or why my install attempt seems to be looking for a much older one.

The issue turned out to be that my IPS repository. I had built it manually before even installing the EC. Once the EC was installed I needed to basically shut down my own pkg/server and configure a Solaris 11 library within the EC pointing to the mount of my repository. The EC then re-sync's the repository, remounts the NFS share in a new location and reconfigures the pkg/server service on a new TCP port.
Once I had an EC-blessed repository I was able to deploy a proxy server.

Apex 4.1 Login Page 101 Branching Issue

Branching Issue from P101 based upon P101_USERNAME value entered..Please Help!
I'm having the following code on Page101 main 'login' process. The goal is to go to page 100 if the user is a normal V_USER or go to page 200 if the user is V_ADMIN. For the P101_USERNAME value, I'm determining whether the user or admin variable in my login process. However, I'm NOT branching correctly to the expected page.
The function calls to determine whether V_USER or V_ADMIN work correctly in my tests outside of APEX.
To prove the following, I hard-coded the page no. to either 100 or 200 and both of them direct to the right page, upon login, in such instances. However, when I'm determining the branching path with the below function call, the branching fails and Always goes to Page 100..I'm totally perplexed. Please help.
The thread on the forums was helpful but the user who potentially got his answer didn't show the final example as to how it worked for him.

There is a simpler method to accomplish this.
On your home page (typically page 1) create a branch with the branch point "on load before header"
Set the action to your desired target page.
Create a condition based on your user's role .
Which I see are similar instructions to those suggested in your linked message.

2100 wireless LAN controller intermittant DHCP issue does not respond to clients

Hi everyone,
I have been struggling with a difficult problem for some time now:
The cisco 2100 wlan controller I have is configured with a dhcp scope in the same ip address range as its WLAN. The configuration works and on a good day I have up to 200 clients connecting with out issue. In the web interface they display as associated and authenticated
On a bad day I find I will begin seeing about 50-80% of all new devices that attempt to join the WLAN show up as associated but not authenticated. These clients end up self assigning themselves a 169.254.0.0/16 (APIPA) address
When my controller / WLAN enters into this state: if clients leave the WLAN they typically fail to get back on and successfully authenticate. By the end of a day around 80-90% of all devices are essentially without Internet access due to this issue.
Rebooting the controller and or APs typically makes no difference or makes things worse – although sometimes it appears to resolve the issue. The same holds for disabling the entire wlan for about 10 minutes and then re enabling it.
Im using 1130 cisco aironet APs with the controller. I have checked extensively for interference and congestion – I think I have congestion – some APs typically host 40 to 90 devices. However as mentioned on a good day the wlan will host 200 devices all day without any issue and some APs will host 50 to 70 devices without major issue.
I can provide more specifics if anyone should need – eg firmware, IP addresses, exact model numbers etc.
Please let me know if anyone has seen something like this before ?
I believe the 2100 is rated to handle up to 350 devices and its recommended not to load a 1130 AP with more than 25 devices ??

Proxy to file scenario issue

I am trying to configure a Proxy to file scenario.
My sender service is ERP system and the my receiver is PI file system.
These are the steps I followed:
1. Created a sender business system for Web AS abap (my ERP system)
2. Created a receiver business system for third party (my PI system)
3. I created all the interface objects(datatype, message type, message interface etc) in Integration repository.
4. In the ERP system , I configured http connection of type h to PI system and also configured lcrsaprfc, sapsldapi connections of type t. I followed this blog: How do you activate ABAP Proxies?
5. I also configured the ERP system as local integration engine, by setting the role to application system in sxmb_adm (followed the above blog).
5. Now I generated proxy in sproxy transaction for the outbound interface.
6. Then I created the communication channel, receiver agreement, interface determination and receiver determination in Integration directory.
7. I created a abap program to call the execute_asynchronous method.
Now the issue is, when I execute my report, nothing happens. I can see the success xml message in sxmb_moni in ERP system. No message is seen on the PI's sxmb_moni. The file is not written either to ERP or PI systems.
Since I am new to PI, I am not sure where to begin with.
If anybody can help that would be great.

Check the following
1. RFC connection between R/3 and PI
2. You said Business system of type third party (PI) is receiving it. Try Business system standalone Java. If PI system is already defined in Landscape as Integration server. It will not show any message output.
3. message is shown in sxmb_moni in your ERP that measn proxy is able to receive all objects and passed it from there.
4. Check in SMQ2 outbound queue of ERP as well as inbound queue for PI if message exist.
5. While configuring in ID you dont need a sender agreement. Did you created one.

Controller for video issues

Hi all,
I don't want the controller to work for the video - so I did
not select the setting " presentation controlled by playbar" (or
something like that - sorry, not connected right now to check the
exact phrase), in the slide properties menu. The question is that
sometimes if the user doesn't want to view the entire embedded
.swf, and they switch to another slide, issues arise with audio
starting over, or not stopping... etc.
If I select the setting to "turn on" the Presentation
Controlled by Playbar, then when playing back the video is a mess -
jumpy, audio issues, unusable in my opinion. The video is
relatively small in size (320y 240 using On2VP6_256 setting in
Squeeze 4.1 for flash)
It would be great to have the presentation able to be
controlled by the playbar -all slides including the ones with
video. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue, or workaround it,
would be appreciated!

Got exactly the same problem except on a MacbookPro 15" mid-2010. Went to the Apple store and was told it would cost 800$ to fix the problem. Quite frustrating!

Java doesn't bypass proxy for IPs using (IP-Subnet) combination ??

On Mac OS I am getting the below problem, I didn't tried it on Windows may be this problem may not occur there.
Problem:---
On Mac OS (Leopard).
When bypassing proxy IP in "Network Settings->Advanced...->Proxies->Bypass Hosts & Domains" field is given as IP-Subnet combination, e.g. 192.168.60/24, then in Java while trying to connect with HttpUrlConnection's connect() method, and then getting response code using HttpUrlConnection's getResponseCode() method it returns response code 407 i.e. Proxy is required. But safari works well for that,
This Java API works well when I directly give IP as 192.168.60.X it works (Java API) well.
I tried System.getProperties().setProperties("http.nonProxyHosts","192.168.60/24"), then also it doesn't works.
Please tell me any solution, suggestion or workaround or any document that tells it may not be done through Java API.

I think System.getProperties().setProperty("http.nonProxyHosts",any host name, IP with * or |) works well for Windows.
Now may be specifying the range of IPs using subnet on Mac OS (e.g.192.168.60/24) is different than on windows (e.g. 192.168.60/255.255.255.0) and therefore this fails on Mac OS. Although Java is given by Mac for its OS, but I think they didn't made any changes for this API.
Now the question is whether its a bug in Java Mac or there is some workaround present for that???
Do you have any idea that I am going right way or not??

Branching issue

Dear experts,
I create a new member in page 34.
I create the memberid from a sequence.
When processing, I branch to page 37, where I like to set the memberid to the value of the just created member.
(so in the branch definition I have selected to set P37_MEMBERID with the value &P34_MEMBERID.)
The issue is, that I created in example memberid 277 (on page 34) and a value of 276 is set (on page 37).
(and the sequence no 276 has never been created - looks like this sequence No. has been skiped)
Can someone give me a hint?

Front Controller Pattern and issues

Hi,
I've implemented the front controller pattern using a Servlet and some JSP pages. The issue I have is that if the JSP page button is clicked, the controller handles the request and performs the proper forwarding.
But for instance, if I type in the URL for the page directly without going through the servlet in the FORM tag then obviously the servlet cannot process the request.
Here's a more concrete example: I have an informational page that you get to by first logging in. But if I type the name of the page directly, http://localhost/employerInfo.jsp I am taken directly to this page, even though I should have logged in first.
I believe there's a way to do this, but I'm completely stumped as to how.
Any information or insight is greatly appreciated.

What you need to do is not to access the employerInfo.jsp directly but call the servlet.
You can map a servlet to a URL. For example, using your example below you can call: http://localhost/myservlet?action=openEmployeeInfo
Now your servlet can retreive the action using String x = request.getParameter("action"); You can test if x.equals("openEmployeeInfo") then get the information from a db or something else. Set the info on a context like request, session or servlet context and then forward to the jsp page using the request dispatcher.

Domain Controller Auto-Enrollment Issue

I recently noticed one of our domain controllers is not auto enrolling its Domain Controller certificate with our AD CS server.
We have 2 DC's and one auto-enrolls just fine and the other one doesn't. The one that auto-enrolls fine is a Server 2008 R2 domain controller and the one that doesn't is a Server 2012 R2 domain controller (the schema has been updated to accommodate this
domain controller). The CA is on the Server 2008 R2 DC (I noticed this issue as I am planning on migrating off the CA from the DC to its own dedicated DC).
I see three errors in the event log:
Event ID 6: Automatic certificate enrollment for local system failed (0x800706ba) The RPC server is unavailable.
Event ID 13: Certificate enrollment for Local system failed to enroll for a DomainController certificate with request ID N/A from DC
FQDN\CA Name (The RPC server is unavailable. 0x800706ba (WIN32: 1722 RPC_S_SERVER_UNAVAILABLE)).
Event ID 82: Certificate enrollment for Local system failed in authentication to all urls for enrollment server associated with policy id: {61B8511A-9BFE-46A8-90D5-FB1709DADB2D} (The RPC server is unavailable. 0x800706ba (WIN32: 1722 RPC_S_SERVER_UNAVAILABLE)).
Failed to enroll for template: DomainController
In a packet capture, I am seeing this error: Expert Info (Note/Response): Fault: nca_s_fault_access_denied
I did notice the "Certificate Service DCOM Access" group had no members, so I added the Authenticated Users group into it (I have a newly stood up development domain and notice Authenticated Users was in this group by default). Still not having
any success. I tried stopping the CA service and starting it up after this group change and had no success either. I haven't rebooted any of the servers yet...didn't think I needed too.
I tried the "certutil -config - -ping" command and it found the proper CA and once I selected it, I was able to connect to the CA just fine and says its alive.
Not to sure where to look at from here as I am out of ideas.

Ok I got this working, but not sure what finally kicked it in.
I followed this article first: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947237 After performing what that article mentions, I still had the same errors. It only mentions Vista, so didn't think it applied. Not entirely sure what the certutil
-setreg SetupStatus -SETUP_DCOM_SECURITY_UPDATED_FLAG does. I think it added permissions to my DCOM COM Security for Access and Launch/Activation permissions?
Initially testing this, it failed with the same errors. After a few minutes, I tried again to see if the packet capture was showing the same authentication error, and it finally succeeded.

Resource Conflict – Serial Bus Controller & PCI Bus Issues - Cannot Load Windows 7 - PLEASE HELP!

Upon power-on, the system eventually goes to the blank screen. Can get to BIOS functions, but beyond that it will not load Windows 7. System was working with Windows 7 prior to this issue. No recent changes or updates made to this system. Stationary - No physical abuse. Five (5) years old. Upon power-on, the screen gives PF keys, which enable me to enter the BIOS: F1 – System Information > Clock still has correct date and time. F2 – Startup Check -> Both HD and RAM OK F9 – Change Boot Device Order -> Can change device order, but it still won’t boot or respond to a System Recovery DVD in a USB DVD. ( Notebook DVD stopped working before this problem happened.) F10 - Enter Setup F11 – System Recovery – Two choices, but <enter> and arrow keys do not work. (They DO work with other F-selections, but not with F-11 menu) (1) Continue with System Resume (2) Delete Restoration Data and Proceed to System Boot OTHER OBSERVATION: When access PF1, I get the BIOS. If I exit and save with PF10, I get a brief flash of error messages, then it goes back to the PF-selections and eventually to the blank screen. Squid proxy server (redhat) latency issues?

I need to deploy a proxy server on a network servicing about 200 machines.
If I virtualize redhat Linux to use squid, will the latency be too much? Bear in mind that the underlying OS and hardware (server 2008 on RAID-5 and 2GB of RAM) must also act as a WDS server. If it weren't for the necessity of WDS I would make
the whole machine a RHL box.
My boss thinks that there will be too much latency... I on the other hand don't have the experience to know or the time to build a prototype for testing it.

I would doubt that the latency will be an issue. Almost every kind of workload is being virtualized these days. Hypervisors in general, and Hyper-V in particular, offer synthetic devices such as NICs and storage controllers along with custom device
devices for those synthetic devices specifically so that performance and latency can get pretty close to what you would have with physical devices. Virtual appliances for various network functions such as proxies, firewall, and load balancers, have been
created specifically to run in virtual environments, and they are achieving the necessary performance and latency. I'm sure there might be specific situations that are particularly sensitive to latency and that could be a problem running virtual, but
all the mainstream scenarios are pretty much OK.

Patching: HTTP errors when downloading blobs from proxy controller to agent

I have a persistent issue which I can't figure out. Oracle support aren't much help.
When applying a Recommended Baseline patchset to our managed Solaris 10 servers, I have observed that blobs are downloaded to the target servers at a rate of 1-2 blobs per minute. I consider this to be quite slow, but that's not my main problem.
At some point during the blob downloads, http errors start appearing in /var/scn/update-agent/logs/error.log on the target server....
HTTP request failed. Reason: Moved temporarily.
HTTP request failed. Reason: Bad gateway.
Eventually, the blob download job fails completely...
118099456 Download aborted.
Our servers are quite a way behind in their patching levels. Consequently, we often need to apply as many as 200 patches to a single server. We are lucky to download 100 patches (blobs) before the http errors begin.
The errors would seem to indicate that the http servers on the proxy controllers are refusing any further connections midway through the blob downloads. I have tried tweaking the httpd.conf file on the proxy controllers - increased the number of httpd processes running and increased MaxClients to 100. None of this has helped.
The proxy controllers have interfaces on the same subnet as the target servers. Network performance between proxy and asset is good.
Has anyone else experienced similar issues with patching ?
Does anyone have any suggestions for httpd.conf settings on the Proxy Controllers ?

So I have figured out the issue and as Eddie mentioned it is because the email attribute is not synced. For some reason when I go into Manage User Profiles I am unable to edit anything, i.e. I cannot add the email address.
I am able to create a whole new user, which I did (already existed in AD) and of course included the email attribute. When I sign into sharepoint with this user I am then able to view IRM protected documents.
I cannot figure out why the email attribute is not synced to SP. As mentioned above it seems the UPS does not work in a standalone SP install, but my undesrtanding is that when i sign into SP it is going to AD to autheticate, so why then does it not
also retrieve the email attribute as well?
I created an SharePoint Active Directory Import job, it runs successfully, it imports all my users from AD, but again without the eamil attribute! Very strange. If anyone has any clues I am all ears.

WLAN Controller 2125 VLAN issue

i purchased a WLan Controller 2125.
this is my first time with Cisco's Wireless Controller :-)
previously i have worked with Motorola WLan Controller. configuring Vlan was easy.
now coming back to cisco Controller
i have installed and completed the initial configuration such as management console and 1st SSID working fine.
according to Company's requirement there should be 3 SSID's
1) management    VLAN-1 identifier   subnet 15.15.x.x           (SSID - VLAN-1)(interface1)
2) Guest             VLAN-20 identifier subnet 192.168.10.0      (SSID - VLAN-20)(interface2)
3) employees      VLAN-30 identifier subnet   20.20.x.x          (SSID - VLAN-30)(interface3)
now the issue is only the SSID VLAN-1 is working. i beleive it is because its under the VLAN1 and management interface.
as for fulfilling network requirement i have connected controller with L3 switch as below
controller's interface1 connected to trunking interface on the switch
controller's interface2 connected to interface vlan-20 on the switch
controller's interface3 connected to interface vlan-30 on the switch
i have also configured DHCP on controller for each SSID(interface)
I CANT EVEN PING the GATEWAY FROM THE SSID VLAN-20 & VLAN-30.
HELP Pls

First at all, test those other 2 vlans fromthe switch side just to make sure are working.
If it is working and not wirelessly, then I would need the show run-config and show arp switch
from the switch side, show cdp nei detail and show run and show arp

Wlan controller and branch office AP (vlan config)

Our wlan controller is located in HQ office and we have APs in branch office. Is it possible to implement two different SSIDs and they should be in two different vlans? So should we configure the AP trunk?
REAP does not support IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging. As such, it does not support multiple VLANs. Traffic from all the service set identifiers (SSID) terminates on the same subnet, but H-REAP supports IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging. Traffic from each SSID can be segmented to a unique VLAN.
